Adobe Acrobat DC Update Failed - wrong directory and names?

The CC applet downloads stuff and extracts it under TEMP.  Then it complains  that
E:\Temp\{AE78F010-4298-4465-BAE0-11B03C94ACAB}\Acrobat_11_0_0_CCM_MUI\Adobe CS7\payloads\AcrobatProfessional11.0-mul\
is not available.
Sure enough, there is no such directory.  What was extracted is
E:\Temp\{453CF38A-AA1D-4D7F-8667-4D08A3A9D070}
and under there is a file with the correct name:
E:\Temp\{453CF38A-AA1D-4D7F-8667-4D08A3A9D070}\Acrobat_DC_Web_WWMUI\Adobe Acrobat\AcroPro.msi
But when I choose that, it claims that it's "not a valid installation package for the product Adobe Acrobat XI Pro".
If I run the MSI or the Setup.exe (in the same directory) directly, it asks for a Serial Number.

Hi JMDlugosz,
What version of Acrobat do you currently have on your system.. Acrobat XI or DC?
Moreover, What os version are you using? Have you have installed OS on E:\  drive?

  • Adobe Acrobat DC Update Failed

    Hi,
    I have a big problem with updating to Adobe Acrobat DC (Windows 8.1, 64 bit); I am trying to install it since three days now. When installing out of the CCInstaller, the following error appears:
    =================================================================
    Exit Code: 7
    Please see specific errors below for troubleshooting. For example, ERROR:
    -------------------------------------- Summary --------------------------------------
    - 0 fatal error(s), 1 error(s)
    ----------- Payload: Adobe Acrobat DC 15.7.20033.0 Adobe Acrobat\Setup.exe_15.007.20033 -----------
    ERROR: Third party payload installer Adobe Acrobat\Setup.exe failed with exit code: 1603
    =================================================================
    I already tried all of these recommended steps: Error 1603: A fatal error occurred during installation, but it did not work. I also tried to install it via the direct DCInstaller, but there is is always an error when installing. Sometimes this one:
    (Installation failure of the Acrobat License Module. Possible solutions under http://...)
    Sometimes this one:
    It's really frustrating... Any additional idea?
    Thanks very much in advance,

    Same problem here! I just want to install Acrobat DC and I get the same problem, but my old acrobat version (Acrobat XI Pro still working). Are you really mean that with this 'installation of Microsoft Visual Studio' it will work. I can't effort that my acrobat don't work any longer. Thanks!
    Here are some steps worth trying. Looks like your Microsoft Visual Studio 2013 Run-time installation is corrupt.
    I found that following steps work if you're getting error:
    "Error 1722.  There is a problem with this Windows Installer Package.  A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected.  Contact your support personnel or package vendor.  Action InstallWebResources, location c:\program files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat\AcrpCEF\AcroServicesUpdater.exe"
    Try following steps and it should work:
    1) Goto Download Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013 from Official Microsoft Download Center and click Download.
    2) Select vcredist_x86.exe and download the package.
    3) If you're on a 64 bit machine navigate to "C:\Windows\SysWOW64\" else navigate to "C:\Windows\System32" on 32 bit machines. If "C:\Windows\SysWOW64" folder exists then you're on a 64 bit machine.
    4) Search for msvcr120.dll and msvcp120.dll and rename both files. Don't delete them so that just in case vcredist_x86.exe package fails to install you can rename them back.
    5) Now double click vcredist_x86.exe and install it. After installation completes check that msvcr120.dll and msvcp120.dll are now installed back. You can delete the files that you renamed in step above now. Don't delete msvcr120.dll and msvcp120.dll
    6) Install Acrobat through CC Installer and it should install now without complain.

  • Why does the Adobe Acrobat DC Update Fail on a Mac Running OS X Yosemite 10.10.2?

    I don't have Adobe Acrobat installed anymore, yet CC is still telling me I need to update Adobe Acrobat DC. When I try to update it, it gets to 35% and fails, every time. I've tried quitting and reopening CC; quitting CC, deleting the OOBE folder in my profile, and reopening CC. Regardless, it fails. Here's the output:

    1. Operating System information.
    2. Do you have any previous version of Acrobat installed?
    3. Share PDApp.log file from ~/Library/Logs, Acrobat Installer logs (Adobe Setup Error.log and Adobe Acrobat DC 15.007.20033 <Date>.log.gz) from /Library/Logs/Adobe/Installers and install.log from /var/log.

    I'm using Adobe Acrobat X (Ver 10.1.4) and up until recently i've been able to convert Autocad 2012 .dwg files to .pdf, but after one of the automatic updates I get an error now that says "Cannot convert file type". Any ideas why Autocad .dwg files aren't supported anymore?

    I've tried to print to the Adobe PDF printer and that doesn't work anymore either. I used to be able to go into windows explorer and select multiple files, right click them, then select "Combine supported files in Acrobat...". This method used to work until the latest automatic upgrade.

    When I right-click to Convert to PDF or Convert to PDF and EMail for .xls, .xlsx, .doc, .docx, .pptx, .ppt, .pub, and .igx items (what I've tried so far), I get the following error: "Adobe acrobat elements has encountered a problem and needs to close".  It works fine on .bmp .tif, .txt, .htm, and .jpg (what I've tried so far).  I am not having problems printing to Adobe to convert, nor am I having problems creating a PDF within a program, and I'm not having problems converting from IE.  I am using Windows XP Professional, Microsoft 2007, and IE 7.  My Adobe product is Adobe Acrobat X Pro Version 10.1.2.  What can I do to resolve this problem?  Thanks.

    No, I don't have an older version.  I did a search on my C drive for anything that has a name of Acrobat Elements and came up with the following: (I'm hoping you can see this)
