Adobe Acrobat detected fields that aren't meant to be "fill in"

Trying to make a fill-in form and noticed that Acrobat detected some fields that aren't actually fill in forms. How do I switch those so they don't show up as fill in form fields? Thanks for your help.

The issue is that it took text that needed to stay and turned it into a fill in field so I can't delete it or else it deletes the text. Here's one example of what I mean. We have a portion of the form that is for office use only so it looks like this:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Office Use Only ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
That whole line needs to stay, but isn't a fill in field.

  • I have an Adobe Acrobat enterable field that is now locked. Need to unlock

I have an Adobe Acrobat form from the IRS where I enter data into the fields.  I entered data in one form with the wrong data, and now when I press the delete key, instead of deleting a character, a red line is placed through the character.  How do I get rid of the data so I can re-enter data into the field?

That computer can be upgraded to Mac OS X 10.5.8, but you should install more RAM in it prior to upgrading the OS. Note that Mac OS X 10.5.8 is still too old to run a modern version of most web browsers.

  • Where is the Mac downloadable version of Adobe Acrobat 7 Pro that doesn't require activation

I purchased Adobe Creative Suite 2 Premium, it cost more than €2,000. When I recently tried to re-install it due to having to reformat my hard drive I could no longer activate it over the phone or online.
When I rang the help number it directed me to the downloadable versions that don't require activation. Great! UNTIL I realise Adobe Acrobat 7 Professional is only available for Windows as a download.
Where is the download for the Mac Version as it not included in the bundle either. This is extremely urgent. Thank you in advance.

    To maswatson
The answer to your question of March 12, 2015 – "Where is the Mac downloadable version of Adobe Acrobat 7 Pro that doesn't require activation[?]" – is … nowhere. That doesn't mean it's not available to you, however. I have successfully installed several CS2 programs and Acrobat 7, on two computers.
The hard drive on my MacBook Air crashed recently. After a new drive was installed I had to reload various programs, including CS2 Premium. I used the original disks and the serial number on the package.
When I tried to open InDesign, however, I got an "Activate Using the Internet" message which led to an "Activation Server Unavailable" message that gave me three options, the last of which was "Click the Phone Activation button to activate the product over the phone." I called the toll-fee number and heard the following recorded message: "We no longer support activation issues over the phone."
So I searched the Web, figuring that others had encountered and solved this problem. Eventually, I found "Creative Suite Help / Download Acrobat 7 and OS2 Products" at https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs2-product-downloads.html#.
I also found "How to Fix Adobe’s “Licensing for this product has stopped working” Error by Aaron Nelsen at http://hijinksinc.com/2010/01/20/how-to-fix-adobes-licensing-for-this-product-has-stopped- working-error/. He writes "… you MUST delete adobe_00080000_tsf.data and adobe_00080000_event.log" which is found in /Library/Preferences/FLEXnet Publisher/FLEXnet. So I did that.
I also deleted Illustrator CS2, InDesign CS2, and Photoshop CS2 from my Applications folder. I did not delete Acrobat 7 or GoLive.
After clicking on "English" at https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs2-product-downloads.html#, I downloaded Illustrator CS2 for Mac, InDesign CS2 for Mac, and Photoshop CS2 for Mac. I was not able to download Acrobat 7 because the only option is for Windows. As you know, there is no download for Mac.
Illustrator CS2, InDesign CS2, and Photoshop CS2 all opened without any problems. When I tried to open GoLive, I got the same "Activate Using the Internet" message I got at the outset, when I tried to open InDesign. I proceeded, and now have a 30-day trial. The same limitation has been placed on Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop, because I downloaded them, whereas GoLive was installed from the CS2 disks.
Next, I opened Acrobat 7.0 Professional – the one installed from the original CS2 disks. It works fine.
BOTTOM LINE: If you want Acrobat 7.0 Professional, install Creative Suite using original CS2 disks, then delete the other CS2 programs from those disks. If you want Illustrator CS2, InDesign CS2, Photoshop CS2, and others, download them from https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs2-product-downloads.html#.
I am hoping this explanation will help you. I feel great sympathy for you because the "answers" you received have been obtuse and clearly less than helpful. (I requested a "Yes," "No," or "Don't know" answer to a very straightforward question, but didn't get it.)
My experience tells me that the answer to your question "Where is the Mac downloadable version of Adobe Acrobat 7 Pro that doesn't require activation[?]" – is … nowhere, but you don't need to download it. It's on the original disks and it does not require activation. That's why Adobe did not included it with the Windows version at https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs2-product-downloads.html#.
I hope this answers your question, solves your problem, and ends your frustration.

You can download and install on your system from Adobe's website.  Have you already opened the box you have received?  If not, you can return it for an exchange.  In the meantime you can download the trial version from this link:
    <http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=photoshop_elements&loc=en_gb>
I am not sure if the Windows Serial number will work on your Mac system.
    Good luck.

Looks like a Fillout box for a Form. If that is what it is, click on Edit form  under Forms menu. Click on the box while holding down control key  choose Properties when Properties box open look for Justification for side to side and top to bottom should be under Text Tab.

  • Where is the Url for free Adobe Acrobat X Pro that will allow me to create PDF/X ‑1a requires all fonts to be embedded,

Is there a free copy of Adobe Acrobat Pro that will allow me to create PDF/x‑1a with all requires all fonts to be embedded. I already have Adobe Acrobat Pro XI.

The Standard joboptions that are used by default don't embed most so-called system fonts.
Change your joboptions to High Quality Print and you will get Arial embedded plus much higher quality imagery.
BTW, PDF/X is great (I'm actually Chair of the PDF/X standards committee), but PDF/X-1a created by using the PDF/X-1a joboptions ruins output by flattening transparency, yielding stitching and other image artifacts that you can see both on screen and print if your document has any transparency (including drop shadows, reflections, and even clipped images). It also forces all content to CMYK. PDF/X-4 is a better choice.
What are you creating the PDF file from? Microsoft Office documents? Adobe layout programs such as InDesign?
Let us know and we can give you a more focused recommendation as to what to do.

Safari 7.0.6, using Adobe Acrobat 11.0.10, isn't rendering pdf files in the Print Preview screen.  Additionally, only a single, blank page prints for a multi-page pdf document.  Any ideas?

Figured it out.  It had nothing to do with the software levels of Safari or Adobe Acrobat.  Here's the fix:
    Open Finder/Applications
    Search "Internet Plug-Ins"
Move any Adobe plug-ins to the trash
    Quit Safari
    Launch Safari
Your pdf document should now render in Print Preview and print properly.

  • I am looking to download Adobe Acrobat X Professional that I had purchased back in 2011

My computer has crashed and now I am trying to install Adobe Acrobat X Professional, but I can't find these drivers any where, not under my account either. Can you please help where I can find this?

Try downloading Acrobat X from the direct download links available at : http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cs6-direct-download-links.html
But make sure you follow the important steps mentioned on the page before initiating the download.

  • I have Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro that with no reason stopped working?????

the program open but when u start working with it,
u get an error message (148:3), "Licensing for this product has stopped working", You cannot use this product at this time."
if someone know why or has a solution, I appreciate...,
I personally believe that is unfair indirect action by Adobe corporation to force the customers to buy their unfairly very high priced monthly price,
the increase of price is totally unjustified by the insignificant additions and thus is outrageous and greed,
Does anyone know of an alternative program????? i hate MONOPLY.....

    Hi rebekah,
Adobe End User License Agreement entitles you to install a singe retail license on 2 computers at any instance.
So you can load Acrobat 9 license on the other computer too.

  • Acrobat form field that allows Reader user to browse and insert a picture into a predefined area

Is there a way to do insert a form field into an AcroForm that allow Reader users to browse and insert a picture into that form field?
I know that LiveCycle can do this, but I need to do this using an AcroForm. Or maybe there's a third-party plug-in that can be used in an AcroForm to do this?

    Jay,
The new version of Reader, which was announced today (see AcrobatUsers.com), will now allow you to use the field.buttonImportIcon method: http://livedocs.adobe.com/acrobat_sdk/9.1/Acrobat9_1_HTMLHelp/JS_API_AcroJS.88.737.html
For a bit more information, see: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/743823
Here's the minimum code that can be used in the Mouse Up event of a button that's configured with a layout that's something other than "Label only":
// Mouse Up script for a button
    event.target.buttonImportIcon();
Since this isn't backwards compatible with Reader, you'll probably want to add additional code to test what version is being used and alert the user if it's pre-11. You should also check the return value to see if anything went wrong. The hard part is getting everyone to upgrade, but this and a number of other features should make it worth it.

  • Adobe Acrobat Required Field

Thanks in advance for your input.
I have created a form for our users fill out electronically, but print out to sign and return to us. I would like to make certain fields required; however, checking required fields on happens upon submitting the form electronically. Any suggestions? Thanks, again.

The "Required" property is intended for when PDF forms are submitted to a scripted web page for additional processing and it is the web page processing that throws the error, so many of the users that used this even with web submissions wrote scripts within the PDF to provide a better error message prompt.
You will have to create a special script to do this check.
