hello, I can't seem to find any downloadable trial adobe acrobat 3.x for unix/linux in the download page.
can anyone provide me the correct link to download it? many thanks!
also I need to convert PDF version from 1.2 to 1.4 in Linux environment. Can anyone suggest suitable product that I can use? Thanks!

There are a lot of differences going from PDF 1.2 to PDF 1.4. But
these are all extra things that MIGHT appear. Every PDF 1.2 file is a
valid PDF 1.4 file, and the idea of converting them really makes no
sense from a practical or administrative point of view. (Of course,
if you had PDF 1.4 files and th company standard was PDF 1.2 it would
be a different story).
Adobe have some Linux software. For example, FrameMaker and the
Distiller Server product.

I've learned something. New. This must be recently changed. That last time I clicked on a Link I though was a dmg file and turned out it was and exe file my Macs wouldn't allow me to do so. But haven't tried recently everytime and exe file comes up I cancel. I gues I am used to the time everytime a Virus or some other nasty was downloaded it was packaged in and exe file and Macs owuldn't allow it. I suppose with the INtel guts now they can no longer refuse to download.

This is not officialy supported to run LiveCycle ES/ES2 on any linux distribution but Enterprise Red Hat or SUSE Linux. But this does not mean this is not gonna run on Ubuntu.
I've tested LiveCycle ES2 using Glassfish and Geronimo as application servers, that are not officially suported, and that works.
For testing/developing purposes, i think you may use Ubuntu, but if you run in troubles you wont get support from Adobe.
Do not try any unsupported platform for production environments.

We have an office of 15 computers that we would like to get the new Adobe Acrobat for. What is the best way to purchase it for 15 computers?

You could pretty easily use the "local" RADIUS built-in to the AP firmware and implement LEAP or EAP-FAST.
Both are pretty easy to set up, the AP can handle that small load without any real performance issues, and the Intel client software supports it (you'll want to make sure all the client software and drivers are the most recent, there were some issues in the past).
Both LEAP and EAP-FASt will support seamless roaming, You'd set one of the APs up for WDS and the others to point to it.
Admin (add/change/delete users) via the Web GUI is also pretty straight forward.

After this error the whole install begins a cascade failure.
Bill@VT has the correct troubleshooting procedure though. Download the update and try updating locally rather than through the ARM updater.

Hi,
I've a hyperlink of PDF file which is uploaded under SharePoint Document library(hosted at Office365 E1) on my custom '../SitePages/Approver.aspx'. Once user click on that hyperlink it should ask me to "Check-Out & Open' pdf file directly from sharePoint document library then it should automatically gets opened into 'Adobe Acrobat' where user will do some annotation/ comments in that pdf file & again 'Check-In' back his changes to SharePoint Document library.
Following article will explain how I want to Check-In & Check-Out pdf files from SharePoint document library once i click hyperlink on my '../SitePages/Approver.aspx' page.

Plug-ins for Adobe Acrobat for Android

Hello,
My company purchased a PDF that has been protected using the FileOpen DRM Encryption program for PDFs (see www.fileopen.com).
On a Windows/Mac system, apparently all I would have to do is try to open the PDF file with Adobe reader, and reader would prompt me to download the FileOpen plugin. At that point, the PDF file could be opened on that computer (and only on that computer). However, since the rights limit file access to one device, we were hoping to read the PDF from a tablet PC to facilitate use of the document on-site.
What I don't know is if this plugin would also work with the Adobe Acrobat Reader X app on an android system. Can this app handle the FileOpen plugin?
Any help with this would be appreciated.

Hello everyone!
Maybe it should be obvious, but I didn't get it even after reading the documentation.
I know that I can't highlight text or extract text developing for C# having only Acrobat Reader installed.
I also know that it should be possible with Adobe Acrobat installed. However, I am not sure about this:
Should the users of my application also have Adobe Acrobat installed or Acrobat Reader will suffice? Again, I ONLY want my application to search and highlight text programmatically, I do not want to create new PDFs or edit existing ones.

I own Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Standard but no longer use it because I purchased a Mac. Can I "upgrade" to a Mac version of Adobe Acrobe Acrobat?

No upgrades from Acrobat 7 are available for anyone - they finished long ago, unfortunately. Only Acrobat 9 upwards are eligible.
You would simply need to purchase Acrobat XI (11) Pro for Mac.
(Note if anyone happens to have a recent version of Acrobat Standard and wants to upgrade to Acrobat Pro for Mac, this is called a "crossgrade" and only available by directly talking to Adobe customer service).
