Adobe Acrobat IX CC blurry on iMac

How do I fix the way Acrobat displays on my Mac?  The whole application is blurry and not comfortable at all to work with.

Hi Gert ,

  • Should I install adobe acrobat 9 pro on my imac

I was considering installing Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro on my imac and didn't know if it was a good idea.  I heard that there are security threats using adobe products but didn't know if it was true.

It should be perfectly safe to use. Security threats are related to Adobe Flash, not to Acrobat.

  • Adobe Acrobat XI Pro on my iMac does not work

I Installed Adobe Acrobat XI Pro on my iMac (3.06 GHz, 4 GB memory running OSX 10.9.4), the Adobe Application Manager pops up with an Adobe Software License Agreement with no text. I hit the Accept icon and nothing happens. I cannot run the application because this window keeps popping up. See image below.
    Thanks,
    Mark

Thanks fore responding. However I'm still unable to launch Acrobat.
Under solution 1 you recommended deactivating the software. However, in Photoshop CC there is no such option.
    Solution 1
Deactivate it by choosing Help > Deactivate.
There is no "Deactivate" option under Help. (see attached file).
    Solution 2
    Download the latest AAM.
I did download it. However, I'm still getting blank areas in the pop-up window as previously mentioned.
Do you have any other recommendations?
    Thanks,

I purchased Adobe Acrobat Pro XI for my iMac (Mavericks 10.9.4), downloaded it and have attempted to install it 10 or more times. I have done all the usual maintenance steps (repair permissions, repair disk, etc) and it still won't install. All goes well until the installer gets to "Running Package Scripts" then it stalls or hangs up and does not finish the installation. It runs and runs and runs. It never finishes. I wind up having to force quit the installer. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

    Hi jtento ,
Kindly enable the Root Account for the MAC and then try the installation there (in the root account). Please find below the URL to enable the root account.

  • Adobe Acrobat XI Keeps Crashing on iMAC

I am using Adobe Acrobat XI pro on my iMac and it crashes/stops working, etc., constantly.  I can scroll through a few pages and Adobe will freeze and I have to "force quit."  I also have the same problem when editing PDFds.
I have removed the program and redownloaded, but that hasn't helped.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

  • I have tried to move Adobe Acrobat X to a new iMac

I have tried to move Adobe Acrobat X to a new iMac with OX 10 (Yosemite) I get an error message "Error 1" with further details, to uninstall and reinstall the product. How can I do that? I do not wish to move to a subscription service such as Adobe XI.

  • Adobe Acrobat crashes repeatedly on my iMac

I work a LOT with PDFs. I literally have thousands and thousands of articles. Why is it that either when I open a PDF on my iMac, Acrobat crashes or after the PDF has been open for a few minutes, the program crashes. This directly affects my ability to work and it affects my ability to work in a timely manner and meet deadlines. Ps, this is Adobe Acrobat through Creative Cloud.

    Hi Rahul,
I've just had the program crash 4 times in the space of 10 minutes. And
there is no rhyme or reason in terms of which files I'm working off or how
long. I could download a brand new PDF and the program crashes. I could
open an old PDF I've had and it crashes. I could be working for 3 hours
before a crash and then it starts crashing every 2-3 minutes. I could be
working for 5 minutes and it'll start crashing. Basically, this program
sucks so badly but I have no other option because I work with literally
tens of thousands of PDFs. I lose hours of work to this and it impacts my
deadlines and my bottom line. It also makes me look bad when material that
should have been highlighted for fact checking isn't highlighted because
the program crashed on me and lost every single thing I was working on and
I don't have the time or capacity to redo my work multiple times.
There is a specific error message but I will have to wait until the next
time to see what it says and then I will copy and paste it for you.

  • Adobe Acrobat InDesign Crashes with intel iMac

I have been having numerous InDesign crashes with no apparent pattern (sometimes it happens when I use key commands and other times it just shuts down). Any ideas/help? Thank you.

    Hi!
Not sure which version of InDesign you are using; and some applications
had issues when they were not quite ready for use in both Intel and PPC
Macintosh computers. An older version may cause a problem in a new Mac.
There may be several things not quite right; but there are several things
that you failed to mention (best stated in forum linked below) and those
could be: model, processor, RAM installed, OS X version (10.5.x, etc.)
[Something as basic as using Disk Utility (see folder in apps) and choose
it to run "repair disk permissions" may help; but it may be more involved.]
The question you have may be better and more accurately addressed in
    this Intel® iMac forum: http://discussions.apple.com/category.jspa?categoryID=189
Hopefully someone there more acquainted with these issues specific to
your hardware and the software you are attempting to use, has detailed ideas.
    Best regards!

  • Adobe Acrobat 11 will not finish installing on my iMac running 10.9.4. Any ideas?

When trying to install Adobe Acrobat 11 Pro on my iMac running 10.9.4, the install will not finish and hangs when installer indicates "running package scripts". Any ideas on how to resolve?

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
    Select
              /var/log ▹ install.log
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen. The contents of the log will appear on the right. Each log message begins with a timestamp. Select the messages from the time of the last installation or update attempt. If you're not sure when that was, click the Clear Display button in the toolbar of the Console window and then try the installation again. Select the new messages that appear. Copy the messages to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
☞ If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message.
☞ When posting a log extract, be selective. Don't post more than is requested.
☞ Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
☞ Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.
☞ Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting. You may need to use a text editor with search and replace, such as TextEdit.

  • Direct Download for Adobe Acrobat X Pro

I need the direct download for Adobe Acrobat X Pro because my IMAC does not have a disk drive. I had the link to the downloads that was supplied to me through the Chat option on Adobe to get my Adobe Creative Suite 6, but I lost it. I have tried looking through the forums, but I am just not able to find anything. Possibly may not understand where to go, or what to do.

    Hi SweetPea,
Please use the following link to download Acrobat . Please make sure that you go through the very important information before downloading the product .

    Hi Jorg ,
Are you trying to reduce the file size with the "Reduced size PDF" in the save as other option.
Give it a try if you haven't done it prior.
Open that PDF>File>Save as Other>Reduced size PDF.
If possible ,please share the snapshot of the error message with us so that we can have a look in order to assist you further.

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.2 blurry shadow problem

    Hi all,
This problem is very strange and just happened to me last week.
When I opened 1 PDF file, the problem didn't occured, but when I opened 2 or more PDF, this problem occured.
    This is the normal file
Open this image to have visual picture : http://140.116.5.200/~tisa/adobe_error/test.jpg
But after I scroll the PDF file (using the scroll in the right side) and then stop, slowly but sure, the PDF screen and font start to get blurry and blurry (you can see there is a diagonal line from upper left to the bottom right screen, the left screen is blurrer than the right screen)
Open this image2 to have visual picture : http://140.116.5.200/~tisa/adobe_error/test2.jpg
And if I highlight some of the text and scroll the mouse down, the screen will become unbelieable blurry, just like this.
Open this image3 to have visual picture : http://140.116.5.200/~tisa/adobe_error/test3.jpg
Thank you so much in advanced for helping... Already looking the answer for several days without any solution.
    What should I do ?
NB : I have try to uninstall and install this software but it still happened.
NB2 : I tried to install Acrobat Reader (free) and I got the same problem
NB3 : I changed my Adobe CS4 to CS5 several weeks agao. I don't know if this is the problem.

So.. If we want to control the "hardware graphics acceleration", should it be done inside the Adobe Acrobat Pro ?
If yes, which part of option should we changed ?
If not, can someone tell me which way to setting this one ?
Do anybody have other input ? This problem makes me crazy
Thank you so much in advanced.

  • Problems saving to pdf files with adobe acrobat on imac

I have just installed and activated Adobe Acrobat 9.0 on my new iMac OS X 10.8.2, but it keeps coming up with an error message when trying to save a powerpoint presentation to a pdf file. I have downloaded all updates, painfully, one by one, from 9.1 to 9.5.3, but still to no avail. Any suggestions to get Acrobat up and running. Unfortunately, customer support from Adobe a big fat zero.

Are you trying to view PDF forms?  If so then you may want to use Adobe Reader.  You can find the download for Adobe Reader at http://get.adobe.com/reader/.

  • Can I use my Adobe Acrobat 7 Pro on my new iMac

I have Adobe Acrobat 7 Pro installed on my old iMac. I would like move it to my new iMac (OS 10.6.7). Do you know if Adobe Acrobat 7 Pro is compatible with the new iMacs, and if so, how to move it? I tried dragging my backup folder to the applications folder of my new iMac but when I try to start Acrobat it crashes.

At the very least, you should try re-installing the software. Adobe products put all sorts of support files in various locations. Just dragging the Application to a new hard drive is not enough.
But as has already been suggested, there may be problems with using Acrobat 7 on 10.6. Adobe does provide good information on the extent of incompatibility with newer OSes.
