Adobe Acrobat License file location?

Hey,
This might sound wierd but bare with me.
Background:
I installed latest version of Acrobat last night as I need a urgent size reduction of a pdf file (color sync utility did not reduce enough while maintaining good quality...). I was running it as Trial and I would like to remove it from my mac (running Meverick) now. However, I wonder where does the software save its license file on Mac?
Here is the reason:
Lets say I decide to give it a serious trial of acrobat 6-month down the road before I pay adobe and I install the acrobat. Will the software check my harddrive to see if there is any license file? If so, it will be shown as trial expired and it will force me to buy before even to try...
Hope this make sense.

Depending on the size of the photo and what size you are trying to make it.
If you are making the raw image smaller you won't loose any quality.
If you are trying to make the raw image larger is when you loose quality.
Normally you click on the image and then go to one of the corners and simply click and move the arrow toward the center of the image to make it smaller. Or move it away from the center to make it larger.
Next you go up to the menu bar at the top and choose FILE- SAVE AS and you click on the drop down and choose the format you want your image to be.
This sounds very complicated but it really isn't once you have done it.
It is true that Adobe Software in my mind is a little eaasier to work with but it's because I am more familiar with that software.

Text appearance in adobe acrobat (pro) files displays inconsistently unless you zoom in. Mainly 'i's and 'l's look bigger than they should.
    The pdfs print fine though.

Try doing a spotlight search for all files that start with AdobeFnt. They will be named AdobefntXX.lst, with the XX being some number. They will be scattered across the drive... After making sure that all Adobe applications are closed, trash all the adobefntxx.lst files, those with the 3 letter extension .lst.
Then, restart the system, and open the files in Acrobat again.
Otherwise, what happens in Safe boot? (Remember, Safe boot loads only a default set of fonts.) If they display fine there, the problem most likely is a font issue, one of the fonts that Adobe installed.
Check Adobe's web support page for troubleshooting Fonts.
    - or -
Contact Adobe about the whole issue, it is after all, Adobe Acrobat... Adobe's contact number is 800 833 6687.

  • Firefox freezes when opening an adobe acrobat (PDF) file from any website

Firefox freezes when opening an adobe acrobat (PDF) file from any website. This only started happening after the latest update of Firefox was installed. Do you have a fix?

    Hi Susan,
The Adobe plugin in Internet Explorer is a bit different from the one in Firefox, however they're all made by Adobe and they usually come with Adobe Reader.
When you open a PDF file in Firefox, it "calls" Adobe Reader to help it read the file. In this case, the Adobe Reader takes over, and it is responsible for freezing your browser.
I suggest you try the last 4 solutions presented on the [[Opening PDF files within Firefox]] (start with "Re-install the plugin" through "Re-install Adobe Reader").
    Good Luck :D

I am looking to buy an adobe acrobat license for my front desk.  We have three receptionists with different user profiles that use that machine because their schedules rotate.  Do i need to buy multiple licenses for each user or is the license machine specific?

  • Adobe Acrobat License transfers between territories

    Hi All
I am looking for help on this topic please, whereby we have purchased Adobe Acrobat Professional licenses for install and use in specific countries.
We currently have a CLP Agreement with Adobe.
We need to transfer some of the licenses we currently hold for one territory to another territory, due to relocation of services to another country.
I can see that there is a possibility to transfer license ownership to another individual, but there doesn't appear to be any information about how a company with multiple offices around the world and how the Adobe Acrobat Professional licenses can defines correctly as per Adobe licensing policy of usage in approved territories.
Please can someone help with this type of transfer and how I can start it.
    Thanks
    Jay

    Licenses are language-based, not location-based.

  • Adobe Acrobat 8 - file updates not installing on Win 7 Professional

How do I install MSP file updates to Adobe Acrobat after downloading them? I have just installed Acrobat 8.0 from the original installation CD on a new PC running Windows 7 Professional (64 bit) and have downloaded the update to 8.1.0 to begin with, but on clicking it get the error messsage 'This patch could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer patch package'. Updater is not working at all. It says it cannot find any updates. Even when I place the MSP file in the Updater folder to which it is supposed to download updates, it does not find updates. What is wrong? Why won't this patch install? Thank you! I really don't want to be stuck with 8.0.0 when I know that years of updates through to 8.3.1 are available, but for some reason they will not install intuitively.

    Hi ,
Acrobat 8 is not compatible with Win 7. Please find the mentioned Kb: http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/system-requirements-acrobat-family-produ cts.html#main_System_requirements_for_Acrobat_8_Pro showing system requirement for installing Acrobat 8. As Acrobat version 8 is very old product so I would recommend you to purchase Acrobat11 which has more enhanced features and functionalities.

  • Why does my exported mp4 file look so bad when it is viewed in adobe acrobat pdf file?

I have embedded an mp4 (exported from premier pro cs6) video file into adobe acrobat and its not sharp viewing of my video anymore. It was a sharp video when viewed in both premier and the exported mp4 files, but once embedded in acrobat it looses sharpness, anyone know what the problem might be? Could my settings  in adobe acrobat be wrong? I would think the problem is in adobe acrobat since the exported mp4 video views crisp and clear before its embedded, any ideas to assure sharpness with my video after its embedded into the adobe acrobat pdf?
Hoping someone has an answer to this, I think my problem might lie within the adobe acrobat settings????
or maybe there is no way around and I need to expect this video not to look as crisp and clear after I embed it into acrobat.... as it is when viewing in premier pro, mp4, etc.????
Any helpful information would be greatly appreciated.
Someone Im sure is taking theri exported premier files and embedding them to create pdf files? Would love to hear if anyone has encountered this issue.
Thanks so much in advance for any help offered.

    Hi Dave,
I just completed a test and comparison between the two PDF's,
compared the file as you suggested with the floating option and changing setting to actual size of the original premier pro / mp4 file size and
the old pdf that did not utilize the floating and file size option.
I do notice a slight difference. The PDF with the floating window with the match of the media clips original dimensions appears to be crisper.
I will be having the final pdf document set utilizing this method for the embeded mp4 movie and hope that the department doing this (next stage of this job) will agree that this is better to use your steps to embed all the video files into a pdf.
Thanks so much for your time.
Hope you had a happy holiday, and hope you have a very happy and healthy new year.
    Thanks, Amy

  • Handle the "No matches were found." when doing a search in Adobe Acrobat PDF file.

I have written an Excel spread sheet and using visual basic coding in my macro can open an as needed PDF file, search for a paragraph number as copied from the spread sheet, capture the page in the PDF file it is found on and paste the "pagefound" back into my Excel spreadsheet where desired. In some cases, however, Adobe Acrobat Professional XI reports back that "No matches were found."
Is there any way to handle the display of this message using Visual Basic Coding so that I can set my pagefound field to 1 or -1 to tell me that the paragraph number does NOT exist in the file?
    Thank you in advance.

Thank you for the quick reply. However, I am NOT trying suppress the message.  I am tying to handle the message.  In other words, I want the message to appear when required BUT I want to be able to try and CAPTURE the fact so that I can specify the page as being non-existent (such as entering a -1 for the page).  Is there any way in Adobe or VBA coding in Excel to recognize that the message is displaying but not stopping it, just recognizing that it is appearing and handle it?  Thanks in advance.

  • Ran system restore and now my Adobe Acrobat license has exceeded its limit

I tried restoring computer due to a corrupt install and it removed Adobe Acrobat, since the system restore did not work, I re-installed the OS, patched and then installed Adobe Acrobat XI Professional, entered my license and it comes up with exceeded amounts of use for this license. Would just like to get the license reactivated. Any help would be appreciated. I tried calling in and Adobe is closed on the weekends, tried chat but nobody has come online in quite sometime so now trying the forums since they are 24/7.
    Thank you -
    Jake

You will need to talk to Adobe, not users on the forums, because only Adobe can reactivate something on their end.   I would imagine that staffing levels increase during the work week.

  • Opening Adobe Acrobat PDF files

I can not get them to load in Safari anymore if I click something and it is an adobe acrobat file. Sometimes, I can then save them to downloads and open them, but sometimes I can't get them to save or open at all. I have Acrobat 7 and 8. I used to be able to until about a month ago.
Is there something I can do so I can open them again?
    Thanks much!

Inside Library, Internet Plug-Ins folder there is a plug-in that does the job
    /Library/Internet\ Plug-Ins/AdobePDFviewer.plugin
If it's not there the simplest way is to enable it from the program preferences in internet section.
Could also be that the plug-in is broken. Move it to the trash and re enable it from the Acrobat preferences.

  • How can a user find out their Adobe Acrobat license number?

I have a large number of employees around North and South America currently using verious versions of Adobe Acrobat Standard and Professional. We have a project in motion to update these versions to the latest and greatest. Unfortunately my predecessor has no logged information on the licenses given out to each installation.
Is there a simple way for the users, at their Desktop, to make a screen print of their license number?

If the installations were registered, then Adobe may be able to help. However, as far as I know there is no way to get the number from the current installation. This has been asked many times before and that is the answer I have seen.

  • Adobe Add-On File Locations

    Running Windows 8.1 Pro.
In which folder can I find Adobe Add-On files in Windows 8. I've tried searching by extension name or using Extension Manager, but cannot find any logical location where the files are located. I found several in a folder under Creative Cloud Files, but only five out of 30.
    Thanks

Thank you again for your response. We're not communicating well.
I am downloading from Adobe.com, Creative Cloud login, Adobe Exchange, Creative Cloud Extensions.
When you select a file to download from this site, it does not use the browser download feature. My browser, Internet Explorer 11 is set to ask for a download location by default.
For some reason, when downloading from Adobe.com, it does not use the download manager in the browser. If you click download, it tells you that you have "acquired" the extension, and you can see the extension in both Extension Manager CC 2014 and the "Manage My Add-Ons" page in your Adobe Creative Cloud profile.
The question is where is Adobe.com Add-ons putting the Extension files on my computer when it says I "acquired" the extension?

  • How do we transfer our Adobe Acrobat license to the new computers?  CuriousJohn

When we transferred data to our new computers, the Adobe Acrobat symbol remained on the desktop screen,  But it won't create PDF documents.  We have the installation disks we used in 2012.  Can we just re-use them or do we need to get some sort of permission from Adobe Systems?  If so, what telephone number should we use?

    Hi John,
You can install one Acrobat license on two computers and if you are migrating from one machine to another then it is advised to deactivate the product first so that the activation counts remains two.
    Go to Help -> Deactivate.
Now, if you are not getting any activation error message on current machine then there is no problem using it.

  • Adobe Acrobat licensing moved from individual PCs to CITRIX server

    Hello Adobe Community,
We are migrating our users away from individual desktops to thin clients running CITRIX.  We have 6-8 licenses for Adobe Acrobat Std assigned to individuals which need to be ported over to their installs on the server.  Is there an easy way to do this without having to purchase new licenses?

If these are individual licenses then no, you will need to contact Adobe and get a Volume license for the total licenses that will be used for your server.

  • Needs help sorting out a New clients Adobe Acrobat licenses.

I have a new client. They have 4 Licenses for Adobe Acrobat.
    2 for Acrobate 8 Pro
    1 for Acrobat 8 standard.
    1 for Acrobat 9 Pro.
I replaced the machine that had Acrobat 9 Pro on it.
The old machine would not let me deactivate the license and the new machine accepted the license but would not activate it.
The company never documented their licenses. They think that at least the Acrobat 9 Pro was a downloaded license.
Talked to Support and they were no help. I needed to verify the email address that it was registered under. They told me it was a hotmail address which would of been right but since then they got their own Domain and Email and don't use HotMail any more so I can not get what they used for Hotmail and who's account it was registeed with.
All I want is to figure out the licenses that that this company bought and is entitled too under what terms and find out if they can be upgraded to Acrobat 11, but I don't know where to start with Adobe on this or if they will be cooperative. They have not been so far.
Any thouights or tips on where to start.
All I have is the srial number and Version for 4 installs of Acrobat. Can I work with that or is the company out of luck and have to buy all over again. If I do have top start over I will say that I will not be buying Acrobat from adobe but I will go to another PDF program. So Adobe can be cooprative and work with me and get me to pay and upgrade tthe license they have or I go somewhere else. I hope Adobe wants the money.
    Any thoughts?

I have just re-scanned my document unclicking the "PDA/A Compliant" box and "viola" everything appears to working just "wonderfully"!
Thank you so much for ending two days of total frustration!
I also talked with an instructor who taught the Adobe 8 class & he didn't have a clue as to what was wrong.
Again, I thank you very, very much!
