Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.1.1 Won't Install Updates

Adobe Updater shows that the following update is available:
Adobe Acrobat 9.2.0 (CPSID_5026)
When I select the update and click install, it downloads the the update, but as soon as it finishes downloading and starts the installation process, I get the following pop-up box:
"The installation process has incountered a problem.  Please choose from the following option."  My choices are "Run this update again", "Stop installing and continue later", or Cancel this update and quit".
My only real option is to cancel the update and quit.
I tried downloading the updates directly from the website in addition to downloading them from the help menu in Adobe.
Not sure if it has any relevance, but I'm currently running Windows XP Version 5.1 with Service Pack 3.
Can anyone offer some assistance to get the updates installed?

My personal experience with Acrobat updates is that they MUST be installed in numerical order. I checked the Adobe updates for Acrobat 9. There are two updates (9.1.2 and 9.1.3) that you need to download and update Acrobat before downloading and installing 9.2.0.
The update feature from inside Acrobat only seems to work if Acrobat is updated with the most recent predecessor update. A very clumsy way to do it indeed!
Good luck.

    Hello!
Has anyone managed to get Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.0 for Mac to deploy with any level of reliability through tools such as Apple Remote Desktop?

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro XI no more running after latest update

I've subscribed to Adobe Creative Cloud package. Anyway, during the latest update, Adobe Acrobat Pro XI stopped working: I cannot launch it any more (I get this message, translated by Italian: "You cannot run “Adobe Acrobat Pro” because it may be damaged or incomplete" and I also cannot uninstall it anymore: despite it looks like the disinstallation gone well, I still find the program installed and I still cannot neither uninstall it, launch it or download it again.
My Operating System: OS X Yosemite 10.10.1.
Could you please help me? It's quite urgent
    Thanks in advance

  • Update to Adobe Acrobat Pro 10.1.10 won't allow stamps to be published

Since updating to Acrobat Pro 10.1.10, the dynamic stamps for approval and review during a review are no longer retained after publishing comments. The comments are retained but the stamps are not. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? It just started with the update yesterday. If I uninstall the update and return to the Acrobat Pro version 10.0.0, the stamps work. It has got to be an issue with this particular update.

We are also having this issue.  found another link describing the problem here:  Dynamic Stamps won't publish after Acrobat ProX update to 10.1.10 (Review & approve)
supposedly (though not confirmed)  11.0.7 also has this issue.

  • Acrobat Pro Extended 9.0.0 Admin Install Update

    Hello
I am trying to update our deployment of Acrobat Pro Extended 9.0.0 to the latest patch, 9.1.3.
We are not deploying the updates via Group Policy, as our deployment of Acrobat Pro is "on demand", therefore I initially wish to update the administrative installation point.
I feel it important to point out that our software was downloaded from the Adobe Licensing site, and is not copied off any CD/DVD media.
    My basic process here is:
Download the patch files for Acrobat Pro Extended for Windows, from Adobe:
AcroProExUpd910_all_incr.msp (no longer easily found on Update site as downloadable at the time of this post)
    AcrobatUpd911_all_incr.msp
    AcrobatUpd912_all_incr.msp
    AcrobatUpd913_all_incr.msp
Of which, based on the article at http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/498/cpsid_49880.html I understand that:
    9.1.0 is a quarterly update
    9.1.1 is a security update
    9.1.2 is a quarterly update
9.1.3 is a security update (assumed, as it came out in the wake of current security fixes)
Therefore, I think I need to update my AIP to 9.1.0, then to 9.1.2 (acceptable according to the release notes for this patch) and then to 9.1.3, thus completing my task.
My problem comes from running the patches on the AIP.  Normally I use a customised installation, but to rule that out, I am ONLY using the downloaded software - no local customisations applied using the Adobe Customisation Wizard.
Patching the 9.0.0 version to 9.1.0 using msiexec /a Acro3D.msi /p AcroProExUpd910_all_incr.msp WORKS!  Setup completes, no errors.
Patching the 9.1.0 version to 9.1.2 using msiexec /a Acro3D.msi /p AcrobatUpd912_all_incr.msp FAILS!  Setup reports a missing file in the Data1.cab, interop.adobepdfmakerx.dll.  Google search reveals unlikely sources to download this missing file.
Patching cannot continue, as 9.1.2 is a pre-requisite to 9.1.3.  I have the same problem with applying 9.1.1, though the above KB article made me ignore trying to get that to work.
Does anyone have any advice where I am going wrong?
    Thanks!
    UPDATE:
After more digging around, it seems that the 9.1.x updates are only for Pro and Standard, whereas the 9.1 update is explicitally for the Pro Extended product.
All 4 patches will patch an "installed" version of the Acrobat Professional Extended product, however the 9.1.2 update will not patch the administrative installation point, presumably because of the different version (Pro or Standard patch, not Pro Extended patch), resulting in the error of the missing file.
The Adobe Security Bulletin clearly says the patches are available for Standard, Professional and Extended, yet the patches dont seem to work!  This is just nuts!

I ahve a new Acrobat Pro Extebded
    9.0.0 and I am running windows 7. I cant
update anything and when I go into the help menu and select the updates it tells me I am
    not on line etc.
I have tried and downloaded the updates and just cant install as it tells me the programme is missing etc etc.
All I want is a programme that works and i cant be done with all the tech talk as all i am is a user and run programmes that do the job. can any one advice what I can do next with out have to be a programmer.

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro X NAG SCREEN won't go away

I have legitmate licenses for this software, installed with the license key and all is well but the "register your software" nag screen comes up every single time the software is launched. My users don't want to get email from Adobe, they don't want mailings and they DON'T WANT TO REGISTER. Is there any way short of giving away all of your personal information to get this nag screen to go stop coming up?
    -Chris

I always register and you do not have to get junk mail from Adobe. However, company should want to have the software registered in its name. If you have problems with the software and/or need to get the licenses at a later time, this will put the license number into Adobe's database which your company can retrieve at a later time. I might suggest your company provide the users with a name and/or email address your company would like to use:
User Name: Your Company IT Department, [email protected]
I do believe eventually the software will either stop asking you to register or ask you if you want not to register. But I cannot be sure since I register all my software.

  • Updated MacBook Pro with Yosemite and to Adobe Acrobat Pro 10.1.12, won't "share" or attach annotated PDF file

Anyone have a fix for this?

Count me in, I have the same issue, and from what I read here, it looks like a Yosemite/SSD related issue ?
I'm not 100% sure if it started when I put a SSD in my old iMac 2009 (as a fusion drive) or if that's after that when I upgraded to Yosemite...
I did disable auto poweroff like suggested in another thread : Mac freeze during the night sleep.
    sudo pmset -a autopoweroff 0
    We'll see if it helps.
It happens toughly a couple of times a week.

  • I purchased creative cloud, so I thougth Adobe Acrobat Pro was included. When I install the program with my CC ID, I keep getting a trial version, I paid for Creative cloud so why should I buy Adobe acrobat seperately?

    Can anyone help me please?
I tried to install and remove twice, We bought one year full package of creative cloud programs.
Many thanks for a solution, i have 3 days trial left.

    Hello Kelly,
first, because you wrote that you "installed ..." a try to (un)install by own resources is not enough!)
As strange as it may seem I fear it's now a challenge for Adobe's Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool.
Sometimes - for whatever reasons - CC doesn't "want" to work. In this case you should CC completely delete and reinstall by help of Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool. (A try to uninstall by own resources is not enough!)
I quote: ... helps resolve installation problems for Adobe Creative Cloud and Adobe Creative Suite (CS3-CS6) applications. The tool removes installation records for prerelease installations of Creative Cloud or Creative Suite applications. It does not affect existing installations of previous versions of Creative Cloud or Creative Suite applications.
Please use: http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html  and follow the prescribed sequence of operations
On the other Hand, in my eyes it's as you said, CC includes many other programs, please see Adobe Creative Cloud . Here a screenshot of some of my programms I loaded down to use in CC:
If necessary and for further questions and if "open" please use chat, I had the best experiences.

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro Extended: Revoke

    hi all,
I have got this copy of Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.0 Extended that I installed on computer A. One day this computer A is totally crashed and I can't even switch it on anymore, most likely the motherboard is overheated. So my boss decides to buy me a new computer B, which is of course much better than computer A. I re-installed the same copy of Acrobat Pro 9.0 on to this new computer and got the error of an invalid serial number (attached phiotos). I have rang Adobe and they told me that i need to contact my reseller to issue me another serial number. My reseller told me that the only way is to fix computer A, de-activate the license, and activate it on computer B.
The problem is computer A is totally crashed. it won't even allow me to boot into windows. and now on computer B, the 30 days trial is expired and i cannot use the PDF facility anymore, is there anyway i can do to resolve this? can someone from Adobe please help me out?
contact me if you need more information

You need to select the Activate over the phone option, call the number that appears on the screen and explain the situation to the Adobe representative.
Only they can help you out with this.

  • Adobe Reader 9.3 will not open in Adobe Acrobat Pro 8

We are currently running Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional Version 8.2.0 with Acrobat Distiller 8 and Adobe Live Cycle Disigner 8.0. I have downloaded Adobe Reader 9.3, but it still will not open 9.3 documents it defaults to the Reader 8 and I get an error message.
How do I change the default Reader to 9.3 or do I have to buy the upgrade for Adobe Acrobat Pro 8 in order to be able to open and use on-line forms that require 9.3?
    Help!

Well that is my question, we have a fully authorized and purchased Adobe Acrobat Pro
    8.
When I do an update for Adobe Acrobat 8, it does not install the updated Reader 9.3.
In order to update the Reader to 9.3, I have to install it seperately. It does that, but when I open 9.3 it defaults to the 8 Reader.
So I guess the answer to my question is that I have to update to the 9.3 full version of Adobe Acrobat Pro, what a rip by Adobe just so we can use the newest "free" Reader.

  • I purchased Adobe Acrobat Pro XI for my iMac (Mavericks 10.9.4), downloaded it and have attempted to install it 10 or more times. I have done all the usual maintenance steps (repair permissions, repair disk, etc) and it still won't install. All goes well

I purchased Adobe Acrobat Pro XI for my iMac (Mavericks 10.9.4), downloaded it and have attempted to install it 10 or more times. I have done all the usual maintenance steps (repair permissions, repair disk, etc) and it still won't install. All goes well until the installer gets to "Running Package Scripts" then it stalls or hangs up and does not finish the installation. It runs and runs and runs. It never finishes. I wind up having to force quit the installer. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

    Hi jtento ,
Kindly enable the Root Account for the MAC and then try the installation there (in the root account). Please find below the URL to enable the root account.
OS X Mavericks: Enable and disable the root user

  • New HD, Now Adobe Acrobat Pro 8.16 Won't Print PDFs to HP2605dn

Had a HD die. Replaced with new one. All humming along on my OS 10.4.11 G4Powerbook except now newly re-installed Adobe Acrobat Pro 8.16 won't print PDFs to my HP2605dn printer. Adobe Reader 9.1.3 and Preview will print my PDFs so that's a workaround, but would like to get Acrobat Pro back to pre-grey screen of death functionality.
    Have sourced hp:
    http://tinyurl.com/ydpcdzu
so it seems to be a known issue.
and also sourced and did due diligence with troubleshooting list:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/403/kb403864.html
(even though technically I'm not on 9 - same difference)
I'm running out of ideas here. Anyone feel like playing House, M.D. with my problem???

What message do you get, exactly? (Please don't include the serial itself).
Is this using the original CD that came with the Acrobat 8 product?
Does it say anything about a "qualifying product"?

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.0 Won't Let me Save a Filled PDF Form

    Hi,
I am using Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.0 to fill out financial forms for my budget and finance department. The thing is, I can only print the form out when completed, but can't save it (I use "Save As" and rename the file).
When I do "Save As," the next time I pull up the form I see the data I inputted for a split second and then it is all erased automatically.
This is frustrating as I need the data to be available every time I open the form.
I am using Windows XP Professional on a Dell Optiplex 755 with an Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 @ 3.00GHz with 1.96 GB RAM. Again, I am not using Reader, I am using Adobe Acrobat Professional 9.0.
    Thanks!

There is probably some JavaScript either as a document level script or page open action that is clearing the fields. If you edit your preferences you can turn off Acrobat's JavaScript, but this will also prevent calculations for running as they use JavaScript.
You could also export the the data as an FDF file and then import the data after the form is opened.
