Adobe acrobat pro is not supported on this architecture

adobe acrobat pro is not supported on this architecture i have cs4 me

I had this problem yesterday. An odd thing had happened, and a folder within the FCP had been corrupted somehow and was broadcasting that it was a .mov file, when it was in fact a folder.
The folder in question was the "MacOS" folder within the FCP application file. I created a new folder, moved the contents of the corrupted folder into the new folder, deleted the corrupted folder, and renamed the new folder MacOS.
And it works again.
Thanks to Zebulun, Jon Chappell, and Shane Ross for helping find a solution...

  • You can't open the application "Adobe InDesign CS4" because it is not supported on this architecture"

A day or two ago I went through installing Adobe InDesign CS4 on Leopard OS X.5.8.  After what appears to be a successful installati
on, in launching InDesign CS4 the message " You can't open the application "Adobe InDesign CS4" because it is not supported on this
architecture" comes up".  Calling in to support and speaking with the agent who read through previous posts, suggested to me that I
should try the same fix that has been suggested when I ran across an error when installing Adobe InDesign CS4 on another separate ha
rd drive externally connected to this computer running Snow Leopard OS X.6.1 for the error reading: "Damaged &/or incomplete install
ation" when launching afterwards.  The support technician told me to first delete with the uninstall Adobe InDesign CS4, InDesign.
Following this I am told to run the CS4 Cleanup Utility.  I restart the computer each and every time after running each of the utili
ties.  Now I am told to install InDesign as a trial version from the DVD and after installation to go ahead & enter the serial numbe
    r.  When launching InDesign CS4 after installation got back the same error as before: "You can't open the application "Adobe InDesig
n CS4" because it is not supported on this architecture" comes up".  Followed KB404711 article and no success.  What else can be don
    e to fix this issue?
This morning contacted Adobe Support regarding this response:
After having a detailed reserach on your issue i acme to the conclusion
that the problem you are having is not related to Adobe software but its
in fact related to your MAC version ( OSX-5.8). While reseraching your
    issue i came across
to many forums where a lot of postings were about the similar error but
with different products the only comon thing was all the Errors were
with Mac machine , also when you check the system requirements  for
    Adobe Indesign Cs4
by going to the following link
    http://www.adobe.com/products/indesign/systemreqs/?promoid=DRHXE  you
will find the Mac OS version supported are from Mac OS X
v10.4.11–10.5.4. but we do support Snow Leoprad , so i would like
to advise to you to either contact your system manufacturer or upgrade
to Snow Leopard ( mac os x 10.6)
I have been told that my case is being sent to Level 2 agents and that it can take 24-48 hours for a response.  In the meantime I decided to see what the Support Forums can do for me.  Until then I am down.  Thanks for the help.

In the application folder there is a folder 'Adobe InDesign CS4' within which there is just the application file. I would expect there should be more file there??
I've un-installed and installed again - still the same.
Even downloaded the dmg again and done thwe whole thing over again.

  • Logic Pro "not supported on this architecture"!!!

    Hello All,
I have been using Logic for a couple of years and in the last few months I upgraded from Logic Pro 7 to Logic Studio. It worked fine but.... I have just switched to a new iMac and installed the upgrade (with dongle from Pro 7) but after hours of installation Logic won't run reporting that it I can't open the application because it 'is not supported on this architecture'. Strangely Mainstage and Soundtrack Pro seem quite happy to open. Is this just a case of re-registering (in which case how do i unregister my old mac?) or is something else amiss.
Any help would be much appreciated. I am desperate to get up and running again.
    Many Thanks
    Nick

Do you know what you did to cause the problem?
I ask because my parents had a similar problem with both Mail and Address Book. I don't know what caused it, but I eventually had to reinstall those two apps with Pacifist.
My mother said she was deleting things that she thought she didn't need. My father thinks there was a short between the keyboard and chair. I tend to side with my father on this one.

  • "You cant run adobe flash cs4 because it is not supported on this architecture" HELP!

I just installed adobe cs4 design premium, and everything works fine except for the program I wanted most, which is Flash. It has a little circle with a line through the icon and whenever I try to run it, it tells me that it cant run because it is not supported on this architecture. I have already re-installed it four times and it never helps. I cant find any help on this board even though similar questions have been asked. Its on a brand new imac, can someone please help?

I'm afraid I don't have experience with troubleshooting this install issue to offer any sort of concrete answer about what's the quickest/easiest way to resolve it. Maybe someone else on this forum or a google search will provide some advice from people who have experienced this first-hand and will know the quickest steps to get the software running. If not, perhaps investigate partitions without journaling, or disabling it (the Apple site has info about this if needed).

  • PSE 10 Not Supported on this Architecture

Just installed PSE 10 on my Mac.  When I try to launch it, I get the following error message:
"You can't open the application "Photoshop Elements 10" because it is not supported on this architecture."
I'm on a mid-2009 vintage Macbook Pro with the following specs:
    OS X 10.5.8
    Intel Core 2 Duo
    2.8 GHz
    4 GB Memory
    Would appreciate any help.
    Thanks.

    Thank you Barbara.
Here is an update and the solution for this issue:
I chatted with Adobe support. They suggested I create a new Administrator account and try to launch PSE 10 from the new Administrator account. The application launched successfully. However, I didn't want to go through the hassle of migrating my existing Admin account to the new one, so I asked if there was another solution.
They had me go back to my original Admin account and look at my Library Preferences files in [user]\Library\Preferences. Turns out I had some leftover files from PSE 6. They had me delete the file called "Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 Paths" and the folder called "Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 Settings". Then I uninstalled PSE 10 and reinstalled it, and now everything works fine.
    Thanks again.

  • Soundbooth "not supported on this architecture" ?

    I have 2 Macs, a Mac Pro 2.5Ghz Quad, and a brand new MacBook Pro 2.5Ghz 17".
Clean installation of Adobe CS3 Master Collection on both machines results in two failures, both Prem Pro and Soundbooth. The installer reports failure to install the two apps with "Component install failed."
The application icons have a "no entry"-style icon on them. If you try to run either app, the error message reads "This application is not supported on this architecture". Updates for them seem to install fine.
Obviously, these are both Intel machines. They are both running Leopard 10.5.2. and all current updates are installed. Encore DVD, another Intel-based app seems to be working fine.
    Any suggestions?
(I've posted this message on the Premiere Pro forum as well.)

    Hi Andrew,
It definitely sounds as if the installation did not complete for Premiere and Soundbooth. My first recommendation would be to run the installer again, and let it reinstall PPro and Soundbooth. (Don't worry, you shouldn't need to run through the ENTIRE installation process again. I share your unspoken pain on how long that process can take.)
If that fails, we can continue troubleshooting, though I'd highly recommend calling Technical Support as they are much better at detecting installation issues than I am able to offer here. Both applications should work exceptionally well on your system.

  • Installation says not support on this architecture

I am trying to install creative suite 5 design premium and it tells me that it can't open application because it's not supported on this architecture.  I am running osx 10.5.8 on a Mac G5.  I was told to uninstall my previous CS3 but it is still showing some programs in admin/preferences (just folders) so I tried to download the creative suite cleaner tool and it gives me the same message re: not supported on this architecture.  It allowed me to install acrobat 9 pro with no problem.  Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong and help figure this out?  Thank you.

That's what I was afraid of.  My hard drive crashed and had to get a new one.  Unfortunately, they could not save my cs3 and I had purchased my computer from my previous employer and it was already loaded with cs3 and they have since gone out-of-business and I did not receive any installation disks or numbers for this program.  I guess I'm just sol.  Spent all my extra $ on new hard drive and CS5.  Thank you for your help.  It is appreciated very much.

  • Games not working "not supported on this architecture"

    Hey all
My problem is killing me! All the games I go to install are coming up with "You can not open this application "Example Battlefield 2142, Need for speed carbon ect." because it is not supported on this architecture". I've checked the system requirements and they are all fine!
I've checked my hard drives permissions and there fine!
Does anyone Have any idea what's going wrong???

I have had similar issues. Over the last few years I have installed a secondary hard drive with more RAM, upgraded my OS to 10.5.8 and plugged a new Radeon 9600 graphics card in when the original blew out last year. Used to my computer (pre-upgrades) worked fine as far as video games & other applications (Final Cut Pro) went. Now it seems ridiculously picky when it comes to installing anything video game related.
    Successful installations since upgrading:
    - Adobe Creative Suite 3
    - Penny Arcade's "Rain-Slicked Precipice" games episodes 1&2 (PC/Mac) (games downloaded over the internet)
    Unsusseccful Installations since upgrading:
    - Tomb Raider Games (mac version)
    - Nostromo Speed Pad N-52 (keypad device - used to work pre-upgrade)
    Mixed Success since upgrading:
    - World of Warcraft + expansions (PC/Mac) (game currently installed on old hard drive, can be operated "through new hard drive"*)
    - Diablo II (PC/Mac) (game will install on both old & new hard drives, crashes when attempting to operate on new hard drive, will run on old hard drive, game crashes when operated "through new hard drive")
    * The official jargon escapes me. Basic idea: while my computer boots off the new hard drive I can still access the folders/applications on the old hard drive since the two are connected. WoW, installed on the old HD, can be opened/run while booted off the new HD.
Part of the problem started when my original graphics card burnt out. With the new card installed things run fine on the new hard drive but when I boot the computer using the old hard drive all the graphics looks like someone leeched all the color out of them and ran the images through a shredder. It otherwise operates properly... but it's hard to make out what you're doing and almost impossible to read anything on the screen. (For lack of a CS education I suspect that the old hard drive can quite grasp what to do with the newer Radeon card since it was a 2k3/2k4 model cpu to begin with.)
That some processes operate as they were intended to while others will not is, to say the least, perturbing. Most things will run on the new HD just fine but a lot of video games, though they may install correctly, crash when I try to operate them. Both Diablo and WoW are produced by the same manufacturer and each game is in its most recent version. I am convinced that the software is flawless, but the hardware is schizophrenic.

  • Cs4 trial "not supported on this architecture" but I meet min reqs...

I cannot get the CS4 PS trial to open on my iMac.
I have an iMac G5 with 1G RAM. I am running 10.5.6 Leopard. Far as I can tell, that meets the minimum requirements listed on the product page.
I have downloaded the trial and installed it just fine. However, when I go to my applications folder, there is a circle with a line through it over my program icon and when I double click it says that CS4 cannot open because it is not supported on this architecture.
I'm very confused! I just picked up this iMac the other day from a girl who said she ran the trial just fine. But, she wiped the system clean and did a fresh OS install before selling me the machine. Now, I can't use CS4?
I am new to Macs, so please be gentle. I appreciate the help in advance!

The architecture error is nothing new and you can google for others with the same problem -- and with no better luck in finding a solution.
You can try the 'CS4 clean script' (also google-able) to clean the system prior to installing the full product but whatever you have is likely messed up because two trials were attempted.
When the Adobe software is installed, it allegedly writes data to the initial sector (MBR) of your drive which is not often wiped on normal reformats. You can either get a disk tool to wipe that area or try another hard drive.

  • Safari is not supported on this architecture?i know zero about MacBooks and am using iPad to ask this question

Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac. There is a third party version of Firefox 4 that runs on OS X 10.4/10.5 and PPC Macs, for details see http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox
If you prefer, you can get Firefox 3.6.16 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html

  • Airport utility "not supported on this architecture"

i have the original airport express, using macbook pro with 10.5.4. i've used the ax to extend the range of my current network, stream music, and share a printer. i moved and need to use airport utility to set up the network but it won't launch saying that the program is "not supported on this architecture". so... how am i supposed to configure the ax if the utility prog won't launch? i'm nor sure which firmware is on the ax, i presume the latest one.

wootang71, Welcome to the discussion area!
It sounds like you may have accidentally installed the PowerPC version of AirPort Utility. You need the "universal" or Intel version of it.
Where/how did you get the AirPort Utility that you are using?
OR are you trying to use "AirPort Admin Utility"?
