adobe acrobat pro x change the program's default page display to single page view - Windows 8, HP Laptop

Since there were no answers, I will take a stab at a reponse. For the 2nd method, I suspect you could simply select the print or press job options to get the desired results or turn off "use local fonts" in Acrobat. If you check the font list, the fonts are probably not embedded and that is likely the problem.
I noticed that you have both Reader and Acrobat installed and that might cause some conflict, but should not be the issue here. If you were to uninstall Reader, you would have to repair Acrobat. The conflict here is that you might have problems with the one opening when you want the other. If it works for you, then don't worry about it.
For technique 1, I suspect you may be using IE 9 that has apparently been a problem since it came out. I have refused to install it. However, it may simply be that PDF Maker does not work correctly with your browser, or got deactivated and needs to be allowed to run in your browser (IE I am assuming).

you got a discount because you bought an upgrade version. it needs proof that you own a previous version. more info can be had if you post in the correct acrobat forum. this forum is for questions and comments about the workings (or not as the case may be) of the forums themselves.

Does anybody have any ideas? Is anybody using the Epson Perfection v30 scanner?

Any ideas?   there was an update on adobe dated 2/25/13.   Perhaps if I uninstall it?   I need advice on how to uninstall. When I view updates and click on it, and then click uninstall, it goes back to the Program Screen, in Control, for all programs. Then do I click on Acrobat and Uninstall?  I am nervous about doing this. Thanks

  • Adobe Caslon Pro generates enormous PDF files on Mac Word, displays incorrectly on Word for Windows

Had a terrible experience trying to typeset my first document with Adobe Caslon Pro in Word. In Word Mac, 27 page all text document rendered to 70 MB PDF with Opentype features enabled, well under a megabyte with Opentype features disabled in compatibility settings for the same font. Opening same document in Word for Windows (both 2010 and 2013) displayed with incorrect (increased) line spacing and Opentype features (e.g. ligatures) disabled even though they were enabled in compatibility setting (they showed up when I opened the same document in Mac).

Something definitely doesn't sound right here.
We are not aware of any problems using Adobe Caslon Pro with Microsoft Word 2011 on the Macintosh.
Attached is a sample Word document that I created using Word 2011 (with all latest updates from Microsoft), four styles of Adobe Caslon Pro with all OpenType features enabled.
I created a PDF file using “save as PDF” from Word's own “save” dialog, also attached.
I also created a PDF file from the “print” dialog using the “save as Adobe PDF” function (lower left corner of the dialog box), also attached.
In terms of functionality, I don't see the problems you are experiencing. The only difference between the generic PDF and the Adobe PDF appear to be optimization of the fonts embedded in the PDF files.
In terms of cross-platform compatibility, with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint, forget about it. Font handling is problematic when you go beyond simple typography and fonts that have only four faces - regular, italic, bold, and bold italic. The cross-platform compatibility problems really have nothing to do with Adobe fonts themselves.

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro 9: Changes/Edits appear on screen but do not print

I place a "white box" with no outline over typed text and then type new corrected text over the white box.  Sort of a virtual whiteout.  Until today it was fine.  Now when I go to print the page, the new changes appear but the original text is also printing out causing the document to look sloppy and unedited.  What is happening?

Sounds like you are using the typewriter tool. That tool and many of the other markup tools are indeed markups. To get them to print you have to select DOCUMENT and MARKUP in the printer menu.

  • My computer (XP operating system) crashed with my adobe acrobat Pro 8.0 and I need to put it on my new computer (windows 7.0 operating system)

I have have the seriel #

    Hi Medina ,
Acrobat 8 is an older version .It might not be compatible with Windows 7 .
Try upgrading it to the latest version .i.e Acrobat 11.0.10 or any higher versions than Acrobat 8.
Many folks have gotten AA8 to work on Win7. I have only heard of one report suggesting that AA8 will work on a 64-bit system, and I am not sure about the report. If you have a 64-bit system, you will likely need to upgrade, though if you play around you might be successful in finding a solution (Adobe will not help since it is not a certified platform, but some folks here might if they have been successful).
In any case, after installation you will need to do the updates for proper operation. If you can not do them from within Acrobat, you may have to download them fromhttp://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows. You need to install the updates in ORDER unless indicated other wise. Reboots can typically be saved until the last update is installed.

  • Samsung Kies 3 and Android-Sync download turned all program icons to Adobe Acrobat Pro 9

I recently installed Samsung Kies 3 and Android-Sync on my laptop running Windows 7 Pro. As soon as the installtion was completed, all my program icons turned to Adobe Acrobat Pro 9, which is one of the programs loaded on my computer, and all my programs tried to open with Adobe Acrobat Pro 9, which of course failed. I uninstalled Adobe Acrobat Pro 9, and the problem cleared up. As soon as I tried to reinstall Adobe Acrobat Pro 9, the problem reappeared. I uninstalled Acrobat 9 and installed a trial version of Acrobat XI, and the same thing happened. Any ideas aso to how to correct this problem?

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro failed to print pdf file

I downloaded adobe acrobat pro and started the 30 trial version just a few minutes ago.
I could open files through adobe acrobat and convert word files to pdf, but when i tried converting a publisher file it could not go through. An error popped up which read "Adobe PDF printer failed to print pdf file".
The publisher file I am hoping to convert to pdf is a 21 page panorama article. It contains lots of images and a variety of font types.
I do not know other alternatives for solving this issue.
Your help will be very much appreciated.
    Thank you!
    Erik

It seems to be that Adobe Acrobat virtual printer is not properly installed on your PC or you are not selecting Adobe PDF printer to print PDF document. Checkout the below screen shot to see proper printer.
After trying this if you have same problem you may trt some other virtual printer that easily convert or print any file as PDF, you may checkout here.

  • Auto fill forms in Adobe Acrobat Pro 7

    Hi All
This may have been answered already, if so I couldn't locate the answer I'm seeking and I apologize.
I am currently working with Adobe Acrobat Pro 7 and the form I have has multiple combo boxes (drop down) on the form and I wanted to know if it's possible for me to link certain forms together so that when the information from combo box 3 is selected from the drop down menu it will automatically populate the information in combo box 12? Combo box 12 will have completely different information though.
Here is my example: We have an upwards of 30 departments and with these departments are different contact names and with these contact names there is the phone number and the email address, all in different fields on the form...currently, I have made a drop down for the department and have everyone manually fill in the other information, however, now everyone wants to be able to auto-fill the other fields such as the contact for that dept, the phone number and the email address of that contact, based solely on the selection of the dept. combo box.
    Is it feasible?
If it is, I'm an your everyday run of the mill admin asst and my Javascript skills are nil, so please let me know what to put and in what box.
Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

It is feasible, but does require some moderately advanced JavaScript, so it's not a simple matter of telling you where to place the code. There are a lot of details to consider, but a series of articles that should get you started if you decide to learn more is available here: http://acrobatusers.com/tutorials/2007/js_list_combo_livecycle
Otherwise, I would suggest finding a consultant to do this for you, if there's a budget for it.

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro and Livecycle

    Hello,
just recentlty purchased my Adobe Acrobat Pro to edit (especially my interactive calculations), which I created in LIvecycle on Windows.
Unfortunately, I always just got the error message "This form cannot be edited in Acrobat. Please use Adobe LiveCycle Designer to edit this form."
Unfortunately I am not using Windows any more, so was wondering, if there is any other way to edit my documents ?
    Thanks a lot, Marc

No. You can only edit LC forms in LiveCycle, and it is not available on a
Mac. Also, even on Windows it's no longer bundled with Acrobat. You have to
purchase it separately (or request a download link if you had a previous
    license).
I would suggest converting your files to "standard" Acrobat forms, if
    possible.

  • Adobe Acrobat Standard 9 Change computer resolution

How do I stop Adobe Acrobat 9 from changing the display resolution on my entire computer when I open a .pdf file?  I have scanned my computer with Symantec Cloud and Malware to no avail.  Has anyone else run into this? and if so, how did you fix it?  Thank you

the resolution is set for 125 but everytime an adobe pdf file is opened, the resolution sets to the Small resolution on the entire computer. we then have to go into the system settings and change it back to 125 Large for the resolution.

  • Trial version of Adobe Acrobat Pro 9

Is it possible to successfully deploy a trial version of Adobe Acrobat 9 across a Windows network? Can a group of users open a single file from inside Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 at the same time, rename it and work from the individual copied file?

To be absolutely clear, it would be possible to start with a common pdf practice file, if a trial copy of Adobe Acrobat 9 was installed on EACH local machine, which would then open as a read-only file, which would be need to be resaved for each individual user?
What each trial version would continue to do, if I'm not mistaken, is that the popup of the trial version information offering a purchase option of the full version would continue to appear at scheduled intervals.
Are these two scenarios correct? Thanks for the help!

  • Editting PDF documents that were created by a MAC doesn't work because of font incompatability.  How can we get MAC fonts and load in our Adobe Acrobat Pro 9?

Editting PDF documents that were created by a MAC doesn't work because of font incompatability.  How can we get MAC fonts and load in our Adobe Acrobat Pro 9?

If it's a Mac font and you're on Windows, you can't. If you are also on a Mac, you'll need to purchase the fonts (fonts are generally non-transferable, like software. One of the reasons pdf exists), install them and try your edits.
But it's best to edit the original document and create a new pdf when finished.
