Adobe acrobat reader and pdf for ipad ??  cant open some files

I am having trouble opening a group or package of several pdf files on my IPAD  I have downloaded an app that allows me to open a single pdf file, but there are limitations for other files.  any suggestions?

I have GoodReader installed and I cannot get it to open a PDF package.  I just get a splash screen that tells me that I need to update to Adobe Reader 9 to view the files properly.  This is the first thing that I have thrown at GoodReader that it can't handle.  GoodReader is well worth the $.

You can set the pref plugin.expose_full_path to true on the about:config page to see the full path of plugins on the about:plugins page.
It is best not to leave that pref set to true as it exposes that full path to web servers, so reset that pref to false after you are done with the about:plugins page.
You can open about:plugins and about:config via the location bar, like you open a website (about: is a special protocol to access some build-in pages).
If you get a warning when opening the about:config page then you can confirm that you want to continue.

  • The Adobe Acrobat/Reader that is running can not be used to view PDF files in a Web Browser. Please exit Adobe Acrobat/Reader and exit your Web Browser and try again.OK. I followed the instruction and the problem still persists.

I got the following pop-up when I tried to open an online PDF file:
The Adobe Acrobat/Reader that is running can not be used to view PDF files in a Web Browser.
Please exit Adobe Acrobat/Reader and exit your Web Browser and try again.
I tried many time, and it really doesn't work.
The plug-in I have is Adobe Acrobat 8.3.0.280

After I upgraded to Firefox 5, I had the same problem and I did a work around temporarily. I went the tools menu, then Add-ons, then clicked the "Plugins" on the left side (4th one down). I "disabled" both Adobe Acrobat 8.3.0.280 and Adobe Acrobat 10.1.0.536 using the disable buttons on the right side. PDF files now open again. However they are outside the actual browser.
My guess is that Adobe didn't catch up yet with a new update to work with Firefox or vice versa.
    Hope that helps!

  • Installation Media for Adobe Acrobat Reader and Flash without Extra Software

Is there a Installation Media format for Adobe Acrobat Reader and Flash which does not have McAfee, Google Chrome or Google Toolbar associated with the installation?  This deployment is for a IT department.  We do not want Google Chrome, Toolbar, or McAfee installed on our workstation, and we want to prevent our users from installing them when performing the upgrades to newer versions.  We want installation media without the extra software for deployment.  Does Adobe supply these?

I have done this.  I just need the refund that was mentioned on the bottom of the page that I have already cancelled on.  None of the other links on that page are relevant and none mention the word "Refund"

I'm trying to access some web PDF files via SharePoint Application but i got this error message "there is a problem with adobe acrobat reader please exit adobe acrobat reader and try again 101:101"
my operating system is Win 7 and I'm using Adobe Acrobat Pro 11.0

  • There is a problem with Adobe Acrobat/Reader. Please exit Adobe Acrobat/Reader and try again.

We have Adobe Reader 8.1.3 set to open in the browser.
We are trying to open PDF files within IE Browser. While opening multiple documents in the IE Browser, we get "There is a problem with Adobe Acrobat/Reader. Please exit Adobe Acrobat/Reader and try again." error, once we click on the "OK" button, PDF file opens in the Adobe reader. This happens randomly while some files open up in IE Browser and some files get the above mentioned error message and open in the Adobe Reader.
We need to open all the PDF files in the IE Browser. Any input is greatly appreciated.

    I may be better off without the tool bar, but I have found anohter solution;
    .  Open Adobe Reader,
                go to edit menu,
                under Preferences
go to Internet, uncheck "Display pdf in browser"
The pdf files then open, but not in the browser

  • Adobe Acrobat Reader 3.05 for Palm OS

I'm attempting to install Adobe Acrobat Reader 3.05 for Palm OS on Microsoft Vista. I have already installed Palm Desktop for Windows 6.2. However, I consistently receive an error dialog box that says I must install Palm Desktop 4.0 or later; after which the install terminates. I'm using a Palm T|X device. I've updated all other software as is available on the Palm support site. Does anyone have a solution for me. Is there a way to extract the .prc from the Adobe installation file? Do to my running Vista, I cannot install an older version of Palm Desktop. Any ideas?

If anyone ever figures out to maximize the screen on the T/X, please email me.  I don't have a lot of time to keep checking back to this forum.  I will send a check for $20 to your favorite charity to anyone who figures this out and sends me an email to me at [email protected]

  • Adobe Acrobat Reader Crafted PDF Document Remote Code Execution

    Hi all,
I was wondering if Adobe can clarify when "CVE-2012-4363 Adobe Acrobat Reader Crafted PDF Document Remote Code Execution" will be fixed?
It's been a pretty long time since this issue was reported.
    With kind regards,
    Erik Verhoef
    The Netherlands

i was also given the Knowledge Base number 405461 from adobe, and they said that this would definitely fix the problem...AND IT DIDN'T :-(
    see kb405461
    http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/view...nalId=kb405461
and just to let everyone know, i have already completely uninstalled adobe reader and reinstalled it several times thinking that fresh install would cure the problem, and it hasn't made a bit of difference. the version of reader doesn't matter either, as i've tried versions 7, 8 and 9... all with the same exact issue...which makes me think that it might be an issue with MS IE6.

  • Adobe Acrobat Standard and Pro - dialog prompt when opening PDF from Internet Explorer 9

    Good morning.
I am having an issue where our ends users that have either Adobe Acrobat X Standard (AAXS) or Adobe Acrobat X Pro (AAXP) cannot open a PDF within Internet Explorer 9 without being prompted by a dialog box to OPEN, SAVE or SAVE AS. Our user that have Adobe Reader X (ARX) only are ok. The ARX users can click on a PDF link within the browser and it will automatically open in a new tab. However, the AAXS and AAXP users will click on that same link, but are then prompted with a dialog box to either OPEN, SAVE or SAVE AS. Has any one else seen this before? We would like it to be so that all users - no matter what Adobe PDF program they are using of the 3 mentioned - can open a PDF link by just clicking on the link and no additional dialog options appear.
The ARX users have the same Internet settings within the Adobe preferences as the AAXS and AAXP users. The check box is checked to have PDFs open within the browser, which they do, but that dialog box always appears for AAXS and AAXP users. Any thoughts?
    Thank you.

Thanks for the reply. I stumbled across something today after posting. I had already known that If the ARX user also had one of the other products (AAXS or AAXP), then they would get the dialog box. Here is what I just figured out: if the user uninstalled ARX and re-installed (still having both ARX and AAXS or AAXP in the end) then they no longer get the dialog box. It seems like perhaps its an issue the AAXP and AAXS are overwriting something in the registry.

  • Adobe Acrobat, Reader and Lifecycle question

I have forms that I created in Adobe Acrobat and Lifestyle.  The forms are useable by most but, some of my users tat are using Reader 11 are having issues writing to the forms.  The problem is random.  Also my environment includes PC's using Windows 7 and Samsung tablets using the latest Andriod operating system and Reader for Andrioids

Unfortunately I am turning to this forum because the problem is random. Therefore I will reiterate the issue differently.   While using a pdf file that was created in adobe acrobat then enhanced in life cycle, I have users, both in MS Windows 7.0 and Android Jellybean, the users are nat able to input text or numbers into the fields. When the users send the pdf the data is absent.  I hope this is clearer.
