Adobe Acrobat X Pro - update 10.1.8

When I try to download the latest update for Adobe Acrobat X Pro - 10.1.8 - it only gives me the .msp, I am trying to get either the .msi (preferably) or the .exe

That doesn't exist.  Adobe only distributes the latest updates via MSP files.  If you were dealing with Adobe Reader they occassionally do re-roll the MSI but I can't remember the last time they did it.

  • Adobe Acrobat 8 pro updates step by step?

Is that the truth?! I installed Adobe Acrobat 8 pro at my new bussiness machine (Win7ultimate32bit) and I have to load every f... update one by one and to install every update one by one and to restart the machine recently? Or I'am blind and can't find the whole update pack at this confusing web page?
Auto update tells me, there are no updates by starting version 8.0.0! its a joke, isn't it?
    Michael

Adobe is not compatible with my mind!
But more or less it works now with Win7 after playing a marathon of updates :/
For Germans who don't speak English well enough here an german explanation:
Alle Updates von der Version 8.0.0 bis zur derzeit gültigen Version 8.3.3 erfolgen schrittweise.
Ich habe leider keine Pro-Version mit integrierten Updates finden können o.O
Erst ab Version 8.1.7 macht der Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro automatisch seine Updates und läd die ca.300MB bis 8.3.1 selbstständig nach.

  • Adobe Acrobat X Pro Update Error 2379

Each time I attempt to update Adobe Acrobat X Pro I am greeted with the following error message:
    Error 2379.Error Opening file for read: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 10.0\Acrobat\Acrobat.exe GetLastError:5.
Any idea on how to  resolve this issue. Any helpful advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance

In that case, try the updates from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows. Be sure to install in order unless indicated otherwise. Also, log in as the administrator and turn off anti-virus during the install. You should only have to reboot after the last update.

  • Adobe Acrobat X Pro update problem

I just received and downloaded an update, but now I can't open my Acrobat X Pro or the Distiller.  The distiller boxe briefly flashes on the screen but doesn't open.  Acrobat briefly gets an orange halo around it on my taskbar but doesn't open.

Received from where. You should update from the Acrobat help menu or go to the http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows site to download updates. If you just accepted a download from some place else, you may have just installed a virus.

  • Adobe Acrobat X Pro update to 10.1.2 removes Print to Black & White option

I used to be able to print a PDF to black and white (grayscale is of no use to me) right in the print dialog window, but once I updates, that feature was replaced with a note that says "Click the Properties button" to change the color setting using the specific printer driver - which, in my case, is the PDF printer driver - but it doesn't work.
Any work-arounds or ways to revert my version to the previous one?
    Thanks.

In the Acrobat dialog, when Adobe PDF is selected as your printer, click on the Advanced button and select Color management on the left-hand panel. Under the Color Profile dropdown try selecting Black & White. Just remember to set it back to the default when you need to print color again.

  • Error 1067: when trying to update Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro

I have Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro and have been using it for over 3 years. I Changed computers and uninstalled it from my first and then reinstalled it in my new, but have run into a problem that I cannot find an answer to, nor can I get any help from Adobe.
I will be notified that there are updates available and I will select yes to update the program, but after 20-30 second, a new window will pop up stating:
    Update Failed
    The process terminated unexpectedly.
    Error: 1067
    Details   (http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/update-errors-acrobat-reader-windows.html)
From there, I will click on the Details link and be sent to an Adobe page telling me:
Try downloading Reader directly from this page.
This link sends me to a page to download the latest version of Adobe Reader (http://get.adobe.com/reader/direct/), so, I will make all of the selections, download it, install it, restart my computer, but when I open Acrobat 9 Pro and try to run the update again, nothing changes and I receive the same error message.
Now, I go to try and get some help from Adobe, but am just sent here to see if I can find out any other information because they "no longer" help with Acrobat 9 Pro(?).
Does anyone have any answer on what I can do to fix this or why this is happening? I've never had any problems with this program before. It just all started when I changed computers, and this one is a brand new computer, so no bugs or anything. I installed Photoshop CS5, Illustrator CS5 and InDesign CS5 without any problems and they all updated without a problem.
I'm not sure how important the updating really is, but it makes me feel better, knowing that any changes or problems with the program can get "fixed" with these updates.
    Thank You,
    Sean

Not that it is going to ease the testing of your patience at all to suggest you try somewhere else, but there is a forum dedicated to Acrobat Installation and Update Issues that might have some info or people ready and able to help you:

  • I am trying to install update 11.0.06 for my Adobe Acrobat XI Pro, but without success multiple times.Get error 1603 each time,

I am trying to install update 11.0.06 for my Adobe Acrobat XI Pro, but without success multiple times.Get error 1603 each time. I have tried disabling my antivirus software without success. I have looked for solutions to error 1603, and have tried what it suggests (empty temp files in Windows, etc.), also without success. There is nothing that mentions Window 8 or 8.1 operating system, though. Is this the issue? Please help.

    Hi Dawn,
We might want to have a look at the install logs to determine the cause.
Please try the following basic steps :
    > Enable the hidden Admin Account on Windows 7 ( Ref :  http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/enable-the-hidden-administrator-account-on-wi ndows-vista/ )
    > Disable all Non-Microsoft Startup Services. (Ref : http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/disable-startup-items-services-windows.html )
    > Disable all the Antivirus softwares like CA, Norton,Mc Afee etc. temporarily from the computer.
Reboot and try installing in the new enabled Admin user account and check.
    Regards,
    Rave

  • Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro - Installing Update

I have just needed to re-install Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro.
    After the install I had to complete all following updates v 9.10, 9.11, 9.12, 9.13, 9.20, 9.30, 9.31, 9.32, 9.33, 9.34, 9.40 and 9.41
A rather lenghty process but did this to make sure all the elements of Acrobat have been installed.
    My question
is is necessary to install all the update like I have - or is it possible to choose the latest available update?
Probably a good question for Adobe Technical to answer.

  • Adobe Acrobat XI Pro not working (at all) following update

I have been have issues with my Adobe Acrobat XI Pro for a few weeks now.  It stopped allowing me to view, create and print pdfs a few weeks ago.  As I teach part time online at a university- I commonly use pdf's to provide information to my students.  I also use pdf's to transfer data back and for from my work computer - for my full time job - to my home computer and back again.  Not having this availability is really hindering my work.
My computer runs on Windows 7 with a 64 bit operating system.  Up until a few weeks ago I had no problems.  I'm thinking an update may have gone through that caused the issues.
In order to reload my full program I had to completely reformat one of my drives which I had remnants of an old adobe version on it- unfortunately, I did not realize that outlook was still pointing to this drive so I lost a lot of data in the long run- needless to say this adobe issue is has been more than just a nuisance to me.
Once the drive was clean- I was able to reload my software for Adobe XI Pro. It worked perfectly after I loaded it.  At least I was able to breath a sigh of relief.  The next day (yesterday) I was informed that some security updates were needed on the program- considering the age of my disks- It seemed plausible and I received the updates.  This evening, as I was setting up my course for winter semester- I tried to open a pdf- and low and behold- I am back where I was- I can't do anything again.  What is going on here?  I need this program to work- yesterday!  Actually I needed it weeks ago when I started realizing I had issues.
There has to be a fix out there for this problem- and I can't be the only one with this problem.  I would appreciate any suggestions that anyone has!
    Thank you!

    Bill-
Thanks for the suggestion- but unfortunately this doesn't work- the reason being is that "Repair" is not option.
I took a snapshot and attached it of what is available for me when I click on Adobe and as you can see- Repair is not an option.
I'm getting to the point of frustration- I will probably uninstall adobe again and refuse to get any updates for it.  I honestly do not know what else to do.
Without adobe I can't post assignments for my college students to my website.  Winter term starts tomorrow and I am very much behind schedule because of this problem.
I can't be the only person having this issue.
Again- I do appreciate the suggestion.  Wish it would have worked.

  • Error 193: When trying to update Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro - Any help?

I have had Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro for a few years and have loved using it. I have always updated the program and kept it up to date, but I have run into a problem.
I was changing computers, so I deactivated all of my Adobe products, uninstalled them and deleted all of the information from it. I then start working and installing the programs into my new computer when it froze and crashed. I ended up having to return the computer and have it worked on, but I did deactivate and unstall all of the programs from the computer before doing so. Now I'm back to my old computer and have started having some trouble. I reinstalled Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro, went in to run the updating, but as soon as it checked and let me know there were updates available, I said start and a box popped up reading:
Does anyone have a reason the occurred and what options I have to correct this? I searched and read that  one of my options was to go into Adobe (http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows) and run the updates manually, but that would mean downloading and installing over 20 updates, one by one. I know that I don't have to keep restarting my computer after each one and only after the last, but there has to be another way. That would take me a couple of hours where I couldn't leave my computer.
I did try to uninstall the program again and then reinstall it, but no I had luck there. I received the same error message telling me that the update failed.
Can anyone help me let me know why this is happening and what I can do to prevent/stop this?
    Thanks,
    Sean

    Please read this below:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/ms682425(v=vs.85).aspx (look for “…If you are using a long file name that contains a space..))
Updater downloads all the updates into AllUsers folder.
Somewhere in the path to this folder you most likely have a file that has the same name as partial folder name.
For example, on XP this folder is C:\Documents and Setting\.."
If you have a file C:\Documents.exe Updater will fail with error 193
