Adobe Acrobat X Pro Update Error 2379

Each time I attempt to update Adobe Acrobat X Pro I am greeted with the following error message:
Error 2379.Error Opening file for read: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 10.0\Acrobat\Acrobat.exe GetLastError:5.
Any idea on how to  resolve this issue. Any helpful advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance

In that case, try the updates from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows. Be sure to install in order unless indicated otherwise. Also, log in as the administrator and turn off anti-virus during the install. You should only have to reboot after the last update.

Reader 9.0 AcroRd32.exe caused Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library error.....etc
on window xp 32bit with Service Pack3!

Was it running in the past? Also, Reader and Acrobat are different products and you mentioned them as though you think they are the same. If you can open the package, select Help>Repair. Follow up with Help>Updates.

  • Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Reinstallation Errors

My hard drive crashed on my computer (replaced with new one) and I had to reinstall my Adobe CS5 and Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro. All of CS5 reinstalled fine. However, everytime I reinstall Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro, it errors every time. It will install, but whenever you open the program, it immediately stops working and errors out saying Adobe Acrobat 9.3 stopped working. Windows cannot find a solution and then closes.
It never gives me the chance to enter my product key or register the product. I went to the Adobe Product page and tried downloading and installing all the updates, but nothing works. No matter what I do it closes right away. Any ideas?
My PC is on Windows 7 - I had to initially install Acrobat on this PC when I got it a year or so ago and it worked fine. Not sure what's changed.
    Thanks.

I just tried reinstalling it - again, it wasnt giving me the option to register it or anything. Would close the minute I opened Acrobat.
So I opened the Acrobat Distiller that installed with Acrobat and that asked me to accept the agreement and register the product. Once I did that - Acrobat started working again!

  • Help! Acrobat 9 Pro Updater Error 1067 (Windows XP SP3)

I had to (re)install the Adobe CS3 Design Premium package - it is working fine. I then installed Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro. The install went fine, the program works  - but the updater always went belly up with a code 1067. I then installed Photoshop CS4. Which is also working fine.
Frustrated, I uninstalled Acrobat 9 Pro and then reinstalled it. And the Updater again gives me a 1067 error code.
I currently have Acrobat 9 Pro V9.2.0 installed & there are updates to be applied. Please advise as to a workaround....to get the updates...

This is the image that I have plus....

  • Adobe Acrobat 8 pro updates step by step?

Is that the truth?! I installed Adobe Acrobat 8 pro at my new bussiness machine (Win7ultimate32bit) and I have to load every f... update one by one and to install every update one by one and to restart the machine recently? Or I'am blind and can't find the whole update pack at this confusing web page?
Auto update tells me, there are no updates by starting version 8.0.0! its a joke, isn't it?
    Michael

Adobe is not compatible with my mind!
But more or less it works now with Win7 after playing a marathon of updates :/
For Germans who don't speak English well enough here an german explanation:
Alle Updates von der Version 8.0.0 bis zur derzeit gültigen Version 8.3.3 erfolgen schrittweise.
Ich habe leider keine Pro-Version mit integrierten Updates finden können o.O
Erst ab Version 8.1.7 macht der Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro automatisch seine Updates und läd die ca.300MB bis 8.3.1 selbstständig nach.

  • Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Update

    Hi,
i just new installed my MacBook and tried to install Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro. It worked fine ...
So just now I'm running on 9.0.0
I noticed that there is a problem with this version when running on mavericks. After I asked Google I found out that I should update Acrobat.
The bad thing is I can't find the update files for Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Mac in the Downloads.
I hope you guys can help me to get this updates so that I can work properly with Acrobat!
    Thanks for you help
    best regards
    Anish

Look at the Adobe ftp site: ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/acrobat/mac/9.x/
    Please apply updates sequentially.

  • Adobe Acrobat X Pro - update 10.1.8

When I try to download the latest update for Adobe Acrobat X Pro - 10.1.8 - it only gives me the .msp, I am trying to get either the .msi (preferably) or the .exe

That doesn't exist.  Adobe only distributes the latest updates via MSP files.  If you were dealing with Adobe Reader they occassionally do re-roll the MSI but I can't remember the last time they did it.

  • Adobe Acrobat X Pro update problem

I just received and downloaded an update, but now I can't open my Acrobat X Pro or the Distiller.  The distiller boxe briefly flashes on the screen but doesn't open.  Acrobat briefly gets an orange halo around it on my taskbar but doesn't open.

Received from where. You should update from the Acrobat help menu or go to the http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows site to download updates. If you just accepted a download from some place else, you may have just installed a virus.

  • Acrobat X pro Update error 1602

I have two new PCs with Windows 8.1 update 1 X64, and Acrobat X Pro installed. I received a notification of an update for Acrobat. After trying to install update I get the below error. No entries in event log and no further info, anyone else have this issue?

    Thank you,
    That worked.

  • Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro Update Failed

I have upgraded to Windows 7 & also to Office 2007.  I need to update my Adobe Acrobat Pro 8 to 8.1 to make it work, but the update fails.  Can you send me a link to update it manually.

Install in order, rebooting after the last update.

  • Acrobat 9 Pro Update Error

I have a new laptop, WIndows 7, and installed owned version of Acrobat 9.0 Professional (version 9.0.0)
When I go to the Update on the Help dropdown, I get an error that the Adobe Install Manager has Stopped.
How do I get updates applied??

I would suggest you download from the most recent backwards, then install from the first to last. That way you will be able to tell if you can skip any updates (each update indicate the previous version required). Also, you should only have to reboot after the last update is complete -- saving a lot of time with reboots, one of the biggest hassles.

  • Adobe Acrobat X Pro update to 10.1.2 removes Print to Black & White option

I used to be able to print a PDF to black and white (grayscale is of no use to me) right in the print dialog window, but once I updates, that feature was replaced with a note that says "Click the Properties button" to change the color setting using the specific printer driver - which, in my case, is the PDF printer driver - but it doesn't work.
Any work-arounds or ways to revert my version to the previous one?
    Thanks.

In the Acrobat dialog, when Adobe PDF is selected as your printer, click on the Advanced button and select Color management on the left-hand panel. Under the Color Profile dropdown try selecting Black & White. Just remember to set it back to the default when you need to print color again.

  • Error 1067: when trying to update Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro

I have Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro and have been using it for over 3 years. I Changed computers and uninstalled it from my first and then reinstalled it in my new, but have run into a problem that I cannot find an answer to, nor can I get any help from Adobe.
I will be notified that there are updates available and I will select yes to update the program, but after 20-30 second, a new window will pop up stating:
    Update Failed
    The process terminated unexpectedly.
    Error: 1067
    Details   (http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/update-errors-acrobat-reader-windows.html)
From there, I will click on the Details link and be sent to an Adobe page telling me:
Try downloading Reader directly from this page.
This link sends me to a page to download the latest version of Adobe Reader (http://get.adobe.com/reader/direct/), so, I will make all of the selections, download it, install it, restart my computer, but when I open Acrobat 9 Pro and try to run the update again, nothing changes and I receive the same error message.
Now, I go to try and get some help from Adobe, but am just sent here to see if I can find out any other information because they "no longer" help with Acrobat 9 Pro(?).
Does anyone have any answer on what I can do to fix this or why this is happening? I've never had any problems with this program before. It just all started when I changed computers, and this one is a brand new computer, so no bugs or anything. I installed Photoshop CS5, Illustrator CS5 and InDesign CS5 without any problems and they all updated without a problem.
I'm not sure how important the updating really is, but it makes me feel better, knowing that any changes or problems with the program can get "fixed" with these updates.
    Thank You,
    Sean

Not that it is going to ease the testing of your patience at all to suggest you try somewhere else, but there is a forum dedicated to Acrobat Installation and Update Issues that might have some info or people ready and able to help you:
