Adobe Acrobat XI pro compare function

I have been attempting to run the comparison function in this program and it will not work.  Please help!.

You want the Acrobat Forum. This one is for Reader only, which has no such feature.

  • Adobe Acrobat 9 missing "Compare" function.

    I cannot find the "Compare" selection that so many online explanations refer to.  Is it possible that there are "variants" of Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard that do not have the "Compare Two Files" feature?

    Please ignore this question.  After some research it turns out that "Standard" does not have the Compare Two Files feature (though there were conflicting statements about the presence/absence of that command).

    It may depend on the plugin that is loaded into your browser. However, right click on a PDF and select the Open With option and go to the default button to select Acrobat as the default. That might do it.

  • Problem printing with Adobe Acrobat X pro. No File Save As dialog

    We have a C++ program to print a formatted report, by selecting the configured  printers. "Adobe PDF" printer is available on install of Adobe Acrobat Pro.
    During report print  when "Adobe PDF" printer is selected, the report use to get printed in a PDF document & saves at the path provided by the User.
    Internally it uses printer APIs like  OnBeginPrinting, StartDoc, OnPrepareDC, StartPage, OnPrepareDC etc.
    Report printing was working fine with Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.1. But since I installed Adobe Acrobat X pro (with update as 10.1.3) I am unable to print PDF document using "Adobe PDF" pinter.
    StartDoc API does not pops up the "File Save As" dialog at all.
    Any help in this regard, would be very useful.
    Note: My code is working fine, if I use freeware like CutePrinter.
    Thanks,
    Amit Agrawal

    Interesting. My approach would
    1. Try on a different system if available. If still bad...
    2. Try to create a simple test application with CreateDC and StartDoc, and really nothing else not absolutely needed.
    Test that.  If it is good, look for other problems in your application (e.g. memory overwrite).
    If your little example is still bad, post it here and other people can try and compare your results.

    No, Acrobat can't do that.

  • Why can't users save data in fillable form created in Adobe Acrobat X Pro?

    I have created a fillable pdf form in Adobe Acrobat X Pro and have everything working great.  When I send it to users they can fill in all of the information, but they can not save the data in the form.  I have followed these instructions before I send the form to the users:  (Acrobat Pro) Type in non-fillable forms (File > Save As > Reader Extended PDF > Enable Additional Features.
    The form includes text fields, radio buttons, e-signatures (x).
    I have researched for days, spoke to countless "Adobe Chat Room Techs" and still have no idea what I am doing wrong.
    I am so desperate for help.  Any advice would be appreciated.

    I've created a form in LiveCycle Designer & Acrobat X, and saved it.
    However, when I open it up with Adobe Reader XI, I get the following message
    What am I doing wrong?
    This used to be a relatively simple process, and now I'm completely confused with how I enable saving forms that others have filled out.
    If I'm understanding what has been written in this thread previously, this is now normal functionality that doesn't require special settings like it had previously.
    Some help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Would a custome made adobe acrobat plugin work in adobe acrobat X pro and XI pro?

    We are looking to write a c++ pdf compare plugin with adobe acrobat sdk 8, but not sure if the plugin in will work in the latest adobe acrobat XI pro since the sdk is 8.0. Can someone with experience in this area confirm whether the plugin would work or wouldn't work in the latest acrobat XI pro version?

    Thank you for your reply. What kind of support can we get by using SDK X or XI? Will there be additional fees charged on those support?
    Our client likes the pdf comparison format from Acrobat 8 better because they have been using that format for a long time for their pdf comparisons. With that said, it is not a requirement set in stone with the client, just highly preferrable. Another reason I mentioned SDK 8 is because I read in other message threads on this forum that the comparison api exposed to developers are from Acrobat 8, pdf comparison api from later versions, 9, X and XI are not released to public.
    https://forums.adobe.com/message/2335879#2335879
    https://forums.adobe.com/message/2670981#2670981
    Furthermore, our client is part of the federal government, this application is for their internal use on their pdf files, but the result of the comparison is released to public as public data (not sure, need to verify with client if there's a subscription fee). Does anyone know if there could potentially be a licensing problem if we develop a plugin-in with Acrobat SDK 8 or X or XI to batch compare thousands of pdf files every few months for the client? The client bought and paid for licenses on Acrobat 8, 9, X and XI.

  • Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended,  64-bit Add-On, Version 9.0.0

    Does anybody know if this is still needed for Adobe Acrobat Pro Ext, version 9.5.2 ? Our security people are declaring that this is a vulnerability, and I see no way to update it or even verify if it is needed. There are no clear references to this on Adobe's website, other than for previous versions of 9 Pro Extended.

    All I can tell you is it's title in the "Programs and Features" tool of Windows 7. To whit: "Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended 64-bit Add-On."  It has an installation date of 8-30-2011 and is only 34KB in size, according to Windows. It is listed below the Main Acrobat 9 Pro program, which doesn't give it's size, but does give the current version of 9.5.2, which is the latest for Acrobat 9 Pro as far as I know.
          The one thing I want to establish is whether this add-on is necessary for the current version of Acrobat 9 Pro to function or not. I can find no guidance on Acrobat's website; at least a search reveals nothing anyway. And it is not referenced in their update site at all. If worse comes to worse, I will call them for guidance because our security types are listing it as a problem, and I am wondering if they are confusing this add-on with the main program.
    Hope this helps with your knowledge, and thanks for replying.

  • Adobe Acrobat XI pro caused MS Office Visio 2003 problem.

    I installed Adobe Acrobat XI pro, but it caused problem.
    Each time I open MS Office Visio 2003, I get the warning message:
    Visio找不到此附加元件或它的某個檔案。
    發生了錯誤而且這個功能無法在再正常運作,您要立即修復這個功能嗎?
    If Chinese is not available for my question, please refer to the following translation:
    “Visio can not find the add-ons or one of its files.
    An error is occurred and this function can not work properly, do you want to repair this function now?”
    I clicked “Yes”, and the Visio add-ons are installed.
    Once MS Office Visio 2003 is closed and opened again, the above story will happen again.
    What is the problem and how to solve it?
    p.s., Acrobat can be lunched/opened without any problem.

    For creating a PDF from OFFICE 2003 with AA XI, you will have to print to the Adobe PDF printer. OFFICE 2003 is not compatible with the AA XI PDF Maker that was updated to work with the newer versions of OFFICE.

  • Averages in Adobe Acrobat X Pro

    Hi All,
    I am currently using Adobe Acrobat X Pro to create an employee performance survey, against 6 competencies the employees are rated from 1-5 or N/O if the competency is not observed. I have used an average calculation box to work out the overall average for each employee. However, if "N/O" is selected adobe takes it as "0" and still calculated the average out of 6 rather than 5. Is there any way to tell adobe is "N/O" is selected to not count this value and take the average only where a numerical score is assigned to the competency.
    Thanks,
    Carla

    You have to write a custom calculation script to perform that calculation since the built-in mean average calculation assumes that all fields will be used in the calculation and a field with no data or a null value will be treated as a zero value.
    Since counting and summing are fairly common task and are used in the calculation of the mean I like to use 3 functions, a count, a sum and a division to calculate the mean and exclude the zero values.
    function Sum() {
    // compute the sum of the passed non-blank arguments
    // input this function's call arguments
    // returns: the sum of the  non-null vlaues
    var sum = 0;
    var value = "";
    // loop through passed arguemnts
    for (i = 0; i < arguments.length; i++) {
    if (arguments[i].toString()  != "")  {
    value = Number(arguments[i]);
    if(isNaN(value) == false) {
    // eliminate not a number type of values
    sum += Number(arguments[i]); // add numeric value to sum
    } // end sum numbers
    } // end numeric test
    } // end argument loop
    return sum;
    } // end sum function
    function Count() {
    // compute the count  of the passed non-blank arguments
    // input this function's call arguments
    // returns: the count of the non-null vlaues
    var count = 0;
    var value = "";
    // loop through passed arguemnts
    for (i = 0; i < arguments.length; i++) {
    if (arguments[i].toString()  != "")  {
    value = Number(arguments[i]);
    if(isNaN(value) == false) {
    // eliminate not a number type of values
    count++; // increment the count
    } // end count numbers
    } // end numeric test
    } // end argument loop
    return count;
    } // end sum function
    function Avg(nCount, nSum) {
    // compute the average of the passed non-blank arguments
    // input: item count and sum of values
    // returns: average on non-blank values or 0
    // computge the average if count is a non-zero value
    if (nCount != 0) return (nSum / nCount); // return average
    else return 0;
    // values to process
    var total1 = this.getField('x').valueAsString;
    var total2 = this.getField('y').valueAsString;
    var total3 = this.getField('z').valueAsString;
    event.value = Avg(Count(total1, total2, total3), Sum(total1, total2, total3));

  • Will Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro run on Windows 8?

    I was wondering if my Adobe Acrobat 9x Pro software would run on a computer with the operating system Windows 8 Pro?

    You are welcome to try but it was not tested.  Also from my understanding printer drivers have changed again in Windows 8 so it is unlikely you will be able to get the Adobe PDF printer to function.  Acrobat 10 and Acrobat 11 do function properly with Windows 8.  If you end up running into installation difficulties then you will likely want to consider upgrading to Acrobat 11.

  • Converting pdf to word Adobe Acrobat XI Pro trial

    I am using a 30 day trial of Adobe Acrobat XI Pro, when I convert a pdf to word doc, it has several hidden letters & symbols, is this because it is a trial?

    The trial is fully functional so, no.
    That being said, the Acrobat forum is at http://forums.adobe.com/community/acrobat. You'll want to ask your questions there.
