Adobe acrobat XI pro- reinstall -S/N provided is valid but qualifying product not found

installing on 64 bit computer with all security off and cookies allowed
i have all ids,s/n, etc. - original purchasor

I think we may be better placed in this case to judge if the answers are correct. The "qualifying product" is not Acrobat XI. It is Acrobat X or Acrobat 9. You need the serial number of one of these two versions, to prove you are allowed to install your Acrobat XI upgrade.

    If needed:
Here are Adobe pages for downloading CS6, CS5, and CS4:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/cs6-product-downloads.html
    http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-product-downloads.html
    http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs4-product-downloads.html
Adobe has started setting up a general set of pages for downloading (even) older versions (requiring  a licence) here:
    https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install.html
    http://www.adobe.com/downloads/other-downloads.html
Until (even) older versions are added, this thread made by staff about downloading the old stuff, with its reference to the Prodesign Tools page is recommended (the last link goes back to CS3):

It is crucial to follow all the initial steps precisely.

Hi, I just installed CS6 master collection from order history and when I try to enter Serial Number it tells me that: Serial number you provided is valid, but qualifying product can not be found on this computer. Then it gives me options under drop down menu but Master Collection CS6 is the only one not appearing in a drop down menu.

Your CS6 must have been purchased as an upgrade.  What it is asking you to select/provide is the name/serial number of the previous version you purchased that qualifies you to install and activate the CS6 upgrade version... this would be likely be one of CS3 thru CS5.5.

  • Need help w Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro reinstall from CS4 Master Collection disks.

Hi all, I'm hoping that you can help me with something. This bug is costing me tons of time and frustration, so whoever can give me a walkthrough, step by step, of what to do, will be my favorite person of the year.
I have Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro that I installed originally from my CS4 Master Collection. This collection came as a set of physical disks.
Now, the problem is that, for the past couple of years, Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro has been super, duper buggy on my computer. For example:
    - It won't let me install updates to it.
    - It does weird things and gets stuck a lot.
    - It likes to crash.
    - It won't let me uninstall it. I tried to uninstall it, and I got an error message that says, "Invalid Application. The application selected was not a valid Acrobat application for this uninstaller. Please rerun the uninstaller."
    - I tried all kinds of things. I looked on the forums and took all the different kinds of advice. Same problems persist.
    - The current version is 9.4.4. It hasn't let me update since then.
I am afraid to just delete the application, because word on the street is that doing that will mess up all your files. So I want to uninstall properly. I heard on the forums that reinstalling is the best way to go.
I finally found the CS4 disks that I used to install this (and my entire CS4) a few years ago. But now I'm not sure what to do next. These are my challenges:
    - When I put in the first disk, it prompts me to reinstall the entire CS4. I'm not sure how to go in and reinstall just the Acrobat part of it.
         - Adobe doesn't provide this as a download, so I can't download a new version. So the CS4 is my only option, I believe.
    - If my current Acrobat 9 Pro is messed up like it is, what procedure should I follow so as to be able to replace the bad one with the good.
    - Is this version of CS4 Master Collection disks known to have a buggy Acrobat on it? Will installing it not solve the problem?

I googled Acrobat 1301, and the Adobe help threads I read all recommended that I uninstall the application, so I did. I opened the uninstaller and went through the procedure.
But then I got the following message:
"Invalid Application.  The application selected was not a valid Acrobat application for this uninstaller. Please rerun the uninstaller."
This is weird, because the create date and date modified are all the same for the Adobe Acrobat Pro, Adobe Uninstaller and Adobe Distiller in the folder. So how could it be not a valid Acrobat application for this uninstaller?

  • In Adobe Acrobat XI Pro Version 11.0.0 - Flatten file so it is not editable even by Acrobat

In Adobe Acrobat XI Pro Version 11.0.0 I use the Flatten option under Preflight but when I go back into the document using Acrobat and use Edit Text & Images, I am able to edit and delete items in the document. I also tried Flatten Preview -> Apply but this didn't work either. I finally tried to print the document as a pdf but the same thing happens. If a document is flattened, it should not be editable by any software but it seems that if someone has Acrobat, they will be able to edit the pdf I send them. Can you please tell me how I can truly flatten a pdf file so that it is not editable by at all?

" If a document is flattened, it should not be editable by any software " who as claimed this, and where? Sounds like twaddle.

  • Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro reinstall

I am reinstalling AA9 Pro on newer computer.  It installs but will only give me 30 days of usage until I register it and tell what my previous version was.  I have my product key for my AA 9 Pro but I don't have a product key from a "previous version".

You either have to have the prior version installed or have the product key. If you registered the prior version, the Adobe reps may be able to help you. If you did not register, you need to start looking for your previous version. Apparently the AA9 version you have is an upgrade and the upgrade installation always requires information on the previous version.

  • I have Adobe acrobat 9 pro why do some files open automatically and other do not.

when I save a file as a pdf. and go to the folder the file only opens if I select it. When I download a file as a pdf it opens automatically in the same folder. How do I get all files to open automatically.

The options on the save are typically either in the printer properties (if printing to the Adobe PDF printer) or in the Acrobat preferences if using PDF Maker in such programs as WORD. The button is included to allow opening on creation. If it is opening on download, that is typically based on how your browser is set up to call software for the file types being downloaded.

  • MS publisher 2010 to PDF using Adobe Acrobat X Pro produces outlines on some of my images that are not there on the publisher file!

I am helping a client publish a book through Createspace. We are both using Windows 8 OS. She created her document in MS Publisher 2010. I made the necessary edits to her book, (111 pages) and saved it as a pdf for commercial printing. The resulting pdf puts lines on some of the images. (All the images are jpg format, but it only happens to some.) I have tried creating the pdf in several different ways including print to PDF, Save as PDF, and Save and Send Wizard for commercial printing. I have also tried deleting and reinserting the images. I don't know what else to try. Does anyone have any ideas.
The image below shows what I mean. On the left is the Publisher File, on the right is the PDF.

I agree with your statement; even for a particular document, if I choose to "Print on both sides" and then print again immediately after, "Print on both sides" will be deselected.
However, I'm not sure what you're implying by you're statement. I'm asking precisely why this setting isn't sticky. Acrobat uses a non-standard printer dialog; in the usual dialog I can easily set a defualt duplex setting. I almost always want to print duplex. Why can't I do this by default in Acrobat?

  • Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Installation help?

I have the Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium for Mac. I installed InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, and Dreamweaver with no problems about a year ago. I realized that I never installed Acrobat...
On the front cover it says "Install software from these discs first. Then install Acrobat 9 Pro from the Adobe Creative Suite 3.3 with Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Upgrade Installer disc provided separately."
I put in the "Adobe Creative Suite 3.3 with Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro" CD and downloaded Acrobat. When I got to the serial # part, I used the same serial number as I did for the rest of the Creative Suite, but it says the # is not valid?!?!
I haven't tried calling Adobe yet...my friend tried calling the other day and he was put on hold for 2 hours >.< Any help would be appreciated!

Had you installed another version of Acrobat 9 previously? If so try using the serial # from it.
If not some one else has asked a similar question I have answered today. Try the answer I gave for that question.

  • Error 193: When trying to update Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro - Any help?

I have had Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro for a few years and have loved using it. I have always updated the program and kept it up to date, but I have run into a problem.
I was changing computers, so I deactivated all of my Adobe products, uninstalled them and deleted all of the information from it. I then start working and installing the programs into my new computer when it froze and crashed. I ended up having to return the computer and have it worked on, but I did deactivate and unstall all of the programs from the computer before doing so. Now I'm back to my old computer and have started having some trouble. I reinstalled Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro, went in to run the updating, but as soon as it checked and let me know there were updates available, I said start and a box popped up reading:
Does anyone have a reason the occurred and what options I have to correct this? I searched and read that  one of my options was to go into Adobe (http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows) and run the updates manually, but that would mean downloading and installing over 20 updates, one by one. I know that I don't have to keep restarting my computer after each one and only after the last, but there has to be another way. That would take me a couple of hours where I couldn't leave my computer.
I did try to uninstall the program again and then reinstall it, but no I had luck there. I received the same error message telling me that the update failed.
Can anyone help me let me know why this is happening and what I can do to prevent/stop this?
    Thanks,
    Sean

Updater downloads all the updates into AllUsers folder.
Somewhere in the path to this folder you most likely have a file that has the same name as partial folder name.
For example, on XP this folder is C:\Documents and Setting\.."
If you have a file C:\Documents.exe Updater will fail with error 193

  • ADOBE ACROBAT 9 PRO INSTALLS BUT DOES NOT COMPLETE

    Hi:
I'm a new user of Adobe Acrobat 9 pro. I had a trial version but uninstalled it with the superb help of Michael Kazlow and bought a full version.
It installed OK (after asking my serial number) but when I started to use it, I was asked for my serial number again on the back of the DVD box which I had inserted before the installation began.
Problem: When I type in my correct serial number and click Next, the screen shows a DIFFERENT serial number which it says is invalid and won't let me complete the installation.  The error msg is "Invalid serial number- go back and enter the correct number" . I went back 5 times and entered the correct number and clicked Next and a different serial number from the one I typed appears on the screen and the same invalid serial number msg is repeated.
    I'm stuck. Please help.

    Michael Kazlow
Thanks for replying. 1)I 'm embarrassed to say I don't know what a CS suite is.
    2) You helped me uninstall a trial version of Adobe Acrobat 9 pro.
    3) The one I'm having trouble with is one I bought.  It installed itself but then asked me before I could use it wha y serial number was.
    4) I type in the one that's on the back of the box but the screen then shows a different number and says it's invalid.

  • Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Bookmarks

This puzzles me. In one file, when I right click on a bookmark I have the option to Set Destination. In the another file I dont have the same option although I created both files with the same software (Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro). I can recreate a bookmark but doing so just slows me down, especially when there are several bookmarks whose respective destinations need resetting

    > In one file, when I right click on a bookmark I have the option to Set Destination. In the another file I dont have the same option ...
What can you see in the menu?

  • Fillable forms in Adobe Acrobat XI Pro

I am using Acrobat XI Pro to create a fillable form from one of my word documents. I have a field with 7 drop down boxes. Within the drop down, there a 4 choices and each choice has a numerical value.
i.e. One drop down box is: Safety and the 4 choices are:
    Critical event = 20
    Documented near-miss = 15
    Risk = 10
    No safety issue = 0
I want the user to choose one and then have the numerical value autopopulate
There are 7 of these drop downs that will have a grand total.
Is there a way to do this in Adobe Acrobat XI Pro?

I looked up a javascript but I don't think I did it correctly.
I have a very basic calculation:
    Safety: Dropdown list containing:
         Critical = 20
         Documented near-miss = 15
         Risk = 10
         No safety issue = 0
Next to the dropdown I have a text field text box where the user can enter the numerical value (0, 10, 15, 20)
Then I have a Total Score text field text box where I used the "Calculate" tab, "Value is the sum", "Simplified field notation": then I picked the 7 fields
This returns the total of the entries in the 7 boxes
Just seems like there should be a simpler way.
