My Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard stopped working after I performed an msconfig. I get the following message: "You cannot use this product at this time. You must repair the problem by uninstalling and reinstalling this product..." I installed this on Jan. 7, 2010 and I have since misplaced the disk.
How do I fix the problem?Hi Ali,
You can download Acrobat 9 Std. from: https://files.acrobat.com/a/preview/8d640488-4a92-4f7d-b50b-d8eb7f96bff8
and reinstall the software.

Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard Stopped working correctly
I have a legal licensed version of Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard that has worked fine for several years. Suddenly and possibly after one of the not so helpful updates, I can no longer delete, insert or extract pages. The delete option shows but is grayed out and the other options do not even show as a possibility anymore. I tried: repair, reinstall, deleting all version and reinstalling but nothing has helped. I truly need this function. Contact with Adobe directly and there answer was "ask someone who can help" (ok a paraphrase for sure but basically they said go ask the community). Nice right? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
They never responded and I found no thread providing me with a fix. I wound up having to pay for the newest version.

This seems to be licensing issue to me.
Please try the following steps and let me know if that helped:
Delete all the files from following folders:
C:\PrgroamData\Adobe\SLStore
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\SLCache
And, delete all files from following folder except cache.db
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\ Adobe PCD
Then launch Acrobat, Accept EULA and enter the serial number again.

Adobe Acrobat X Pro stopped working again but I think I've spotted something...
Hi Folks.
I am one of those users, Adobe Master Collection CS6, whose Acrobat X stopped working mysteriously a few days back. I followed the discussions on the forums here where others were experiencing it and took the advice on offer to delete cache.db and reenter my serial number. That worked a treat. Until right now, after only a few days of all being well my Acrobat is gone down again .
When I followed the said instructions above, I created a backup copy of my working cache.db file and it is 16Kb in size. Now, looking at my current cache.db file, it is 20Kb in size, so something has happened to it, it's grown in size by 4Kb and I'm wondering if whatever this problem is is related to this extra 4Kb of data which has been added to the file?
Two questions...
1. Is there some way for me to send this file to Adobe so they can take a look at it and see if they can figure out what's going on?
2. Is there a solution to this that works! I don't want to have to keep replacing my cache.db file every few days to keep Acrobat working .The growth in file size is probably just a side effect of the encryption when it gets locked. You can use the Feature Request/Bug Report Form to report your issue, but there is no guarantees anyone will follow up. Anyway, since this is a frequent issue, I'm sure one of the next updates for AAM is already in the works and will fix it.

Scanning problem - "Adobe Acrobat 9 has stopped working", Windows 7 OS
Hi all,
First post in the forum - Adobe has always come through for me before but I'm having problems that I can't solve by myself this time. When I try to scan documents into Adobe Acrobat 9 the scan completes (all the documents are drawn through) but when it attempts to progress to ask me whether there are any documents left to scan it crashes. There's no specific error message; Adobe just shuts itself down.
I'm using Windows 7 and an IR2800 Canon printer-scanner combo to scan the documents. I downloaded the latest driver for the scanner earlier from Canon's website and am at a complete loss as to what the problem might be.
I would very much appreciate any help rendered.
Regards,
ChrisSorry, I'm a doofus! Sorted it out, was a problem with the Network Scangear (I had an old version)

All Adobe Creative Suite suddenly stop working
One day, I had Illustrator CS, Acrobat CS and Photoshop CS open and then suddenly, when I dragged a file onto PS, it said 'cannot open - program error' or something like that. So I tried a different file and it said the same thing.
I quit Photoshop and tried reloading it, and it started bobbing up and down and then stopped. Ie it quit after 1s of loading. I restarted the computer, thinking that might solve it. Now every Adobe application quits after 1s.
I’ve deleted the whole suite and erased trash, etc and then I've reinstalled it, from fresh but it still does the same thing.
I’ve tried trashing the preferences. I’ve used Font Finagler to delete corrupted font caches and any other ‘AdobeFnt.lst’ files, etc. No luck.
I can't think of absolutely anything left to try.
All the programs quit almost immediately. When I try to load them after trashing all the preferences, they do not have time to put in the new default preference files. Also, before it all went wrong, Photoshop complained that it couldn't open a file because of a program error.I think you can get more help at http://www.adobe.com/support/forums/main.html than you get here, but let me have a stab at it here anyhow:
Have you created a new user, and tried running Adobe with that user? If that works, there is something wrong with your current user.
Check ~/Library/Caches/Adobe . My guess (I have not tried this myself) is that you can trash anything there, and then retry.
Check ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe . If you trash those things you may have to reinstall CS, but if you're lucky it is recreated automatically, when you try to restart CS.
Check /Library/Application Support/Adobe . It is very unlikely that anything there should be corrupted, as CS worked before, but it is not impossible. If you try to uninstall CS manually for a reinstall, you should probably delete these files as well.
Good luck!

Acrobat X suddenly stopped working!!!
2 hours ago, I was reading a PDF, when it simply closed.
*Poof* For no reason at all! Hello?
Since than Acrobat X wont open anymore. Neither by starting the programm via the .exe, nor by clicking on PDF documents.
Acrobat Reader does open and show PDFs, though.
Tried to "repair" the installation, but to no avail.
No changes to my computer/programms/OS where made lately.
What is this?
Adobe, you're supposed to save me time, not to cost me.
Windows 8.1-64
CS6 MasterI do not have a solution, but it sounds like you may have gotten a virus through JavaScript in the PDF. I hope you have your original installation files (backup or on CD). If the repair (from Control Panel>Programs & Features) does not do the job, it may be time for a reinstall. You might check the JavaScript folder in Acrobat first to see if there is something that got dumped there that is suspicious.
To reinstall, try to deactivate if possible, uninstall, run http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html, remove any left over parts of the Acrobat folder, reboot, and install. Then do the updates. Hopefully that solves the problems. However, trying to do repair and updates first is always best. The reinstall should be a last resort. -
My Adobe Acrobat X (CS6) suddenly stopped working!
My Adobe Acrobat X (CS6) suddenly stopped working, I can't open or edit documents. I am on Windows 8.1, this just started happening yesterday. I have re-installed it to repair any possible problems, I am a registered user. Please help me!! Can't submit my assignments if I can't use my product!
The license info would be on the jewel case or CD that you got from the university. If it was downloaded, they typically provide the license key in that process that you have to write down or copy. As long as you are still covered under the license, maybe another individual has the license key available. It would be appropriate for them to ask for confirmation on your payment of the license fee or whatever process the university has.
In the meantime, go to the Start>Control Panel>Programs & ... When the program list comes up search for Acrobat.exe and do a repair. -

For all the users who have faced a problem where Acrobat did not launch after 30 days of serializing with a suite serial number, please execute the following workaround:
Make sure you are connected to the internet.
Launch a regular CS6 product other than Acrobat or Flash Builder (for example: Photoshop, After Effects, Premier Pro, InDesign, Flash Professional, Illustrator, Dreamweaver.)
Click on Help->Deactivate .
Deactivate the application. Quit application.
Launch a regular CS6 product other than Acrobat or Flash Builder (for example: Photoshop, After Effects, Premier Pro, InDesign, Flash Professional, Illustrator, Dreamweaver.)
Accept Eula.
Register trial by signing in. Let the app launch.
Quit and relaunch the app. Wait for UI to come.
Click on License This Software button on the UI.
Click on Sign in .
Serial number screen will come
Enter the serial number in the serial number screen and click Next.
Quit app and relaunch the app while connected on the internet .
After this if you launch Acrobat it will launch and run forever without trouble. In case you still face a problem , try relaunching the other CS6 app once more and then launch Acrobat.
Feel free to send me a private message if you need any more help with this. -
I receive Adobe updates on a regular basis without any problems. The other day, my Adobe Photoshop Elements 7.0 (Editor) function has suddenly stopped working. Windows cannot seem to solve the problem. I can open all the other function buttons without any problems just not the most important one which is the Editor Function. Has anyone experienced this situation and knows what to do?
Did you tried uninstalling and then installing it again?
