Adobe AcroPro Trail in XP-SP3

I have a new operating system (WinXP-SP3) and can't seem to get LiveCycle to work. Acro works fine, but I want to try creating a simple fill-out form. It doesn't matter if I open LCD via Adobe AcroPro or open it directly via the link in my program list, it simply doesn't work. It tells me the installation is corrupt, and that I should repair the installation, which I have tried to no avail. Then DrWatson postmorten debugger opens up shortly afterwards (10 secs later), also in an error state. I have to use Task Manager to shut down the processes manually.
LCD does open, I see the window, but before I can click on anything it crashes.
Tried searching online for others with a similar issue, but have had no luck. Can anyone suggest what is going on? Could this be a compatibility issue with SP3?
Thank you.

I have tried both 8.0.0 and 8.1.0 with the same results. Yes, your correct, I meant to write trial in the subject, sorry.

  • Can't Install Adobe Air on Windows XP SP3

Every time I attempt to Run the AbodeAIRInstaller, it gives me an error, saying that it has encountered a problem and needs to close.
I have SP3, and am the administrator since this is the only account on the computer.
I'm not sure if there's anything I need to do prior to downloading this. This is the first time I've attempted to download AIR. I have all other free products but this one.
Performed all the troubleshooting steps like Uninstalling through Windows Installer Clean Up Utility , again getting the same error on installing.
When I right-clicked the installer for Adobe AIR, I noticed there was an "unblock" option at the bottom that most newly downloaded i

r, it gives the Windows Error (crash) saying that the program needs to close and I can Send or Don't Send the error report. Before u

I have absolutely no idea why I can't install Adobe Air, of all programs... If there's a possible conflicting program, or if I need
to have all current Windows updates (I haven't updated in a long time, but it's all security things, so I don't think that matters),
or if I need the Flex program for you to troubleshoot, I'll do it. This whole thing is just really frustrating me.

I hear ya. that's on an existing system with an upgrade. i've solved (well, resolved) a remote desktop problem with a rollback to sp2.
but on the clean xp pro sp3 system (1st app install after anti-virus and firewall), the cs3 install took about 10 minutes. very fast very smooth.

  • Not able to open pdf and adobe reader on windows xp sp3.

    Hello,
I am not able to open pdf and adobe reader on my windows xp sp3 computer. I have reinstalled adobe reader 11.0.3 twice, but, no luck. I would appreciate if you could help me in resolving this issue. Thanks in advance.
    Regards,

You can try using this tool to first remove all traces of Reader from your computer:
    http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
Then, you can download the full offline Reader installer from
    http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
After downloading, restart your computer and run the installer before doing anything else.

  • Unable to find Adobe PDF resource files since SP3 installed

We have a user who is sure since XP Service Pack 3 was installed that he cannot print to PDF. Once he clicks Print he gets an error stating
Unable to find "Adobe PDF" resource files
    "C:\...\Adobe PDF 6.0\Settings\Adobe PDF Converter.joboptions"
Running the installer in repair mode does not work. Reinstalling the whole thing does not work. However when I log in as an admin user the issue does not occur at all. It is Acrobat Standard 6 by the way.
    Thanks

Does this occur if you are logged in as the administrator? Have you updated AA8 to the latest version? You very likely need the latest version to run on Win 7, particularly since AA8 is not certified for Win 7. If you have a 64-bit system, there is no question that you need to update.

  • Adobe Pro trail

Just downloaded the Adobe Pro trial. It converts pdf to ppt, but when I try to open ppt it shows error and closes. I have tried to 2 seperate computers with same results.
    Thank you for any help

Your question really should be posted in the Acrobat forum; this is the Reader one.

If you don't find the answer to your problem in the Acrobat Installation & Update Issues, don't forget to include details about your setup when you repost there.

  • Adobe Acro 8: Update of AcroPro.msi on AIP fails with windows installer error.

    Hi,
Creating a AIP with Adobe Acrobat 8 files.
Have created a AIP without any problems.
When i try to add patches to the AIP using the MSIEXEC /a "" /p "" i get a Windows Installer error saying:
"This package could not be opened. Verify that the patch package exists and that you can access it, or contact tha application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer patch package."
What can be the cause of this?
The update packages are fresh downloads from Adobe.com.
Using WinXP SP3 with Windows Installer 4.5.

I hope you have gone through the solution posted on http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/498/cpsid_49880.html

  • Adobe reader 11 installation fails. error message: there was an error installing adobe reader. adobe

Adobe reader 11 installation fails. error message: there was an error installing adobe reader. adobe reader installation error. null. tried using adobe cleaning  tool. using XP sp3. seems that adobe 11 is not completely uninstalling. this is because when adobe reader  11 is removed  from add/remove program. when pc is rebooted, adobe reader 11 entry comes back but it is  like false entry as no size given. please help to succesfully install Adobe Reader 11.  also tried:
    1. uninstalled, rebooted, reinstalled  2. installed from different locations  3. removed adobe key from
local machine and tried to install

Seriously, I do not understand what is going on - I have never seen this before!
The MSI installers are usually used in corporate environments to roll out installs on multiple machines.  However, you can use it like a normal (EXE) installer; it will just go through fewer steps than the EXE.  Not sure if it will improve the situation, but it's worth a try.
Another thing to try is to uninstall these remaining entries using Microsoft Fixit: http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall - also no guarantee, but also worth trying.

  • Adobe air apps cannot be installed

    Hi,
I have trouble with my PC to install any kind of adobe air app. When I start to install a Adobe air app, I get the UAC request and I confirm it but then the Adobe Air Application Installer.exe *32 is hanging and doing nothing.
When I repeat the process another Adobe Air Application Installer.exe *32 instance is started.
Here is my equipment and what I tried:
    Equipment:
    Windows 7 professional SP1 64 -Bit
    - Reinstalling Adobe air with Revo Uninstaller(cleaning registry) and installing it new with Admin rights.
    - Installing Adobe air in Windows XP Sp3 mode
    - Multiple apps were tried and when I start them with the SDK, they are working fine.
    - No information are available in the windows eventlogs
Any idea  how to solve it or any possibility to start a debug tool to get more information?
Thank you in advance for any input and help!
    Cheers,
    Dominik

  • Performance of Adobe Reader 8.0.0

I have upgraded to 8.0.0 and found a CPU spike when I do anything in Adobe Reader.
    Windows XP SP3
E.g. I scroll a document and everything freezes for a second and then continues again. It also happens if I select some text.
The same document in version 7 of the Adobe Reader was fine.

Sorry, I have now updated to 8.1.2 and this problem has been fixed.

  • Uninstall of Adobe Reader 9.5.5 to install Adobe 11

Odd problem with Adobe Reader on Windows XP SP3... I hope. I had 9.5.5 installed after a reinstall of XP, and want to upgrade to Adobe 11. When I try to uninstll from Add/Remove in my Control Panel, the process fails saying 9.5.5 is installed on Drive G. I don't have a G drive so the Fatal Error shows.  I've tried searching for the files and found them but it's impossible to delete or uninstall as the process says it's on Drive G.
What do I have to do to uninstall Adobe 9?
    Thanks.

Thanks for the relpy Pat but it didn't work. I still get the msg "Error 1327.Invalid Drive: G:\" when I tried to install 11. Cleaner said it worked but seems it didn't. I'll try again but I don't think it will change anything.
I can't understand this as I have no G drive on my computer. Only C:, D and E: for my CD/DVD drives, and F: for a removable drive.
    Thanks
    Gary
And Happy New Year to you.

I have un-installed, tried to re-install and still no success.  It appears to download correctly until I try and run something.  I have Windows 7 environment and Air 3.7.0.1860 was installed.

    I am on Windows.
    Let me know please.
    Thanks.

Well if figured it out by myself.  In order to down load the file, I had to disable the Firewall in Microsoft first.  I lowered my cookies and other files on Explore (internet options).  Once I did that I worked like a charm.
