Adobe Advanced Search Function not woking

The Advanced Search Function has stopped working. I use mac os x 10.6.8. I deleted and reinstalled adobe reader 10.1.2 and still the same problem: nothing appears when I click on the Advanced Search function. I'd welcome suggestions on how to fix this. Thank you.

Did you try the shortcut for Advanced search - option + shift +F. Do you not get the search window even then ?

@@I'm using Adobe Reader Version 11.0.10 under Windows 7 64-Bit SP1 with all actual updates. When i try to search any word or Phrase of contained in the text of a specific PDF File, then the search Fails. It does not come up with the search item i have keyed in. I did not misspell the search item and it is definitely contained in the text, but the search function does not find it. i am absolutely surethat the search item is in text Format and it is contained in the PDF file, because i can Access and search it when i open this PDF file on an iPad for instance. there it works, but not in my Windows envioenment.
I guess that this problem will not be completely new for you, because other users are discussing this Problem in the Internet as well.
Can you help me with an answer and hopefully with a recommendation on how to overcome this Problem.

So, in case i made no mistake (?), then you can access the PDF file we
are talking about when you follow this link here:

This PDF file contains a description of an olympus camera. When you open
this PDF file please go to page 6.
Directly under the picture on top of the page (which shows a dark blue
car driving from left to right) you can read the word "Mitziehmodus"
(without parantheses). This german word is one of those search items
which the PDF search function of my PDF reader installation does not
find. There are many other words the search function does not find as
well, but let us use this word (Mitziehmodus) as an example to
demonstrate the malfunction as i experience it on my pc.
Meanwhile i have installed a completely new windows-system 7 from
scratch. The PDF reader (11.0.10) is currently the only installed
software. I made this windows 7 installation only to assure that there
is no other software eventually influencing the search function. But the
search function fails again when searching for this word "Mitziehmodus".
One remark still to your statements concerning accented characters.
Character like ä, ö, ü or ß are quite normal characters in writing
german language text. But these characters can not be found also! In
general it does not make much sense to serach for a single character (at
least in my understanding). Searching for ä or ö or ü results in finding
something completely meaningless. But this behaviour shows additionally
that there is something wrong with the search function as it ist
implemented in Adobe Reader.
In general i am convinced that this PDF file will be correct ,
because i can search any search item and find correct search results
when i access this file on my iPad regardless in what so ever combination.
i hope that you can access the problem PDF file following the link i
sent you above.
And i would be happy wehen you could find thze reason for my search
problems.

Search function not fully working with Exchange 2007 and Outlook 2007

The Search function in outlook is partly available.
I can only search into the inbox with basic search.
Advances search functions an dsearching into subfolders is not available.
As you can see in the screenshot, the options are greyed out.
Situation:
W2k8R2 + Exchange 2007 (windows search role not installed)
W2k8R2 + Outlook 2007 (windows search role not installed)
Question:
- Does the search role need to be installed on the exchange server to provide full search functionality?
- Does the search role need to be installed on the client (server) to get the search funtion fully available in Outlook?
I can't find this awnser if I search in google of technet, so hope someone can help me with this.

Search functionality not working in Purchase order

Hi all,
We are using extended classic scenerio's .But we are unable to search the Purchase orders against status "order ,awaiting approval etc"
However, we are able to search only "Status Held" PO's
Could you please tell me the soultion for this. Seems to be search functionality not properly activated.

Hiding the advanced search functionality

Hello Colleagues
I need to hide the Help link appearing on the masthead. Also, need to remove the search/advanced search functionality appearing on the portal page.

If you want to do that for the out of the box framework page.
1. Goto Cotent Admin -> PCD
2. navigate to Content provided by SAP -> eND USER CONTENT -> STANDARD PORTAL USERS -> DEFAULT FRAMEWORK PAGE
3. OPEN DEFAULT FRAMEWORK PAGE --> TOOL AREA
4. DISABLE SEARCH OPTION IN THE PROPERTIES

Issue while enabling Advanced Search functionality in Agent Inbox

Hi Experts,
We have enhanced the Agent inbox search to include few EEWB fields. The basic search is functioning smoothly and search is working on both standard and EEWB fields.
But after configuring the Advanced Search for agent inbox, we are not able to find the EEWB fields in the Advance search dropdowns to be searched upon.
We checked the ICCMP_INBOX/InboxAdvancedSearch view configuration and the EEWB fields are also not available in the list of available fields, but are present in the Context node 'SEARCH'.
Are we missing on some configuration?
Any pointers towards the solution would be highly appreciated.

Search function not working in Aperture

The search function in Aperture 2.1.4 is not working,. No changes have been made to settings/preferences. Advanced keyword searching will no take place either.

The upgrade from Aperture 2 to Aperture 3 has to be bought from the AppStore; it is not a free update. But Aperture is no longer as expensive as it used to be, but still 69,99 € or 80 $ (US).
Sometimes next year will the new Photos.app be released by Apple, and the migration from Aperture 3 to Photos will be supported, but I have no idea, if that will be possible for Aperture 2 libraries.
I've never run Aperture with Lion or later, so I cannot be sure, which troubleshooting measures will be save on Mavericks. Check out this link: Aperture 2: Troubleshooting Basics

hi,
i am very interested in japanese music but i don't know how to search for that kind of music. i don't know any japanese singer so i can't search for them. i also cannot search for "japanese music" because such a group doesn't exist in the search-function. i find a lots of chinese singers by the way because i knew some and when i searched for them, there where also listed many others. can you give me some names from japanese singers or tipps how to find them in the store?
i also like chinese and japanese music from movies but i also don't know how to search for. if i look for "soundtracks" then results are too much to search for some soundtracks from asia. can you give me some tipps how to find this too in your shop?

1.) yes the stores are different for each country, and the diffenece is not "just" the language…
But switching to the Japaneese store (at the bottom of the Home page) might help in your case, since you seem to be interested in any kind of Japaneese music — but: be prepared… (see below…)
2.) the "Browse" link Dave Sawyer was referring to just leads to the world music genre, which does not at all cover all possible, and not even the useful combinations.
For instance, I was/am looking for French Funk, Disco and Soul music in general (as you can read in http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=4269954#4269954), but the iTunes store's advanced search feature doesn't have a "language" field (yet).
So, in the mean time, I use the workaround I mentionned there, or I just search in Google, Youtube et al.
Because switching to another store does not lead you to a "local/national music" compilation — you find the exact same artists as in the U.S. store, maybe with regional preferences…
In the German store, you can find a "Musikreise durch Europa", which is a musical journey through europe. Good, very good. But it only includes what the managers realized, today it is Italian classic, Swedish pop, Norwegian Jazz, French hiphop, Dutch rock and "Balkan Soul"… As I wrote, good, but not helpful for me.

Advanced Search Index not working

I have an issue with Adobe Reader. Specifically I use the Advanced Search - and usually select one more more index's.
However. I downloaded the latest version 11.0.10 and I cant seam to get my index search working:
1/ I get a security popup saying "The operation you are trying to perform potentially requires read access to your drives. Do you want to allow this operation?" I hit allow.
2/ When I select "Select index..." nothing happens and it goes straight to "currently selected index". It had not remembered my indexes (since when i seach at this pont nothing comes up)
I've re-installed the reader twice - same results. I have managed to "double click" a .pdx file which has allowed me to get access to the index search. However it forgets this selection the next time i load adobe reader.
Any assistance or points would be good.

Search function not working correctly

I have a problem searching in a specific document. For some reason, the search function only seems to sift through certain fonts, or types of text. The main text is not included in the search, but rather only (for example) the Table of Contents and some "examples" (in a special font) in the text. Everything else is omitted.
When I copy/paste the main text, it's pasted as a strange code in this fashion, despite the fact that it's quite readable in it's original form:
äíÉí=áåíÉ=Ü~ê=Ñí
This is probably the reason why Search can't find terms in the main text, as searchable text looks quite right when copy/pasted. But how can I solve the problem?

Did you check under the file Properties to see if the fonts are embedded? If they are not, you can reembed the fonts if you have Acrobat Pro using the Preflight tools.

Contact search function not found

I've definitely upgraded to iPhone 2.0. I am not finding the search function (I don't see a search field) when I access my contacts through the Phone icon, Contacts tab.
When I use the Contacts icon, I also don't see a search field. I tried tapping the top of the screen thinking that would make it appear but it doesn't. Mysterious, or am I missing something basic here?

Did you try using the scroll function on the right (all the letters) and go all the way up to the top? There's a little magnifying glass icon above the "a" and when you get up that high, you should see the search field pop into view at the top.

Trouble with the advanced search function on acrobat reader. Why won't it open? it used to, but suddenly stopped working.

For some inexplicable reason the advanced search option in my acrobat reader 11.0.3 has stopped working. It worked just fine a few weeks ago. I am running Snow Leopard on my Macbook Pro. When I open advanced reader the pdf file I am trying to search ceases to be the active window. But no other window exists (in 'window' search is checked, but there is nothing there!). Does anyone have any ideas. I have downloaded and re-installed reader twice, and removed all earlier versions (I think). This is kind of urgent!

It's a 3rd party app. You really should contact Adobe Support and/or post in the Adobe Forums

Use Software Update or the OS 10.6.8 combo update to update your OS. Also, update everything SU has to offer for your computer. When done, repair permissions and restart your computer.

Search function not working

the search function on my macbook's mail app has just stopped working. every search term i type in returns 0 resultsi know the emails are there (i.e., typing in 'ebay' returns nothing, despite using my account for ebay)
i have tried restarting the app, restarting the macbook and nothing seems to have sorted it

I am also having this issue....except in a different manner.
When I use the search box whilst looking in a folder (EG Inbox) the return now incorporates 'everything' -sent mails, bin mails.
It no longer is selective but seems to have switched to a generic search.
How do I switch it back to selective searches for peoples names
