Adobe AIR re-install error

Can someone help me with this error please.
"this installation of this application is damaged. Try re-installing or contacting the publisher for assistance"
It happened when I went to HELP in illustrator CS5  on Mac.  I started to update it but now I get this when I go to HEPP or SUPPORT.

This article from adobe should help:
http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/403/kb403150.html
Try this first though:
-Drag to trash ALL air applications like Adobe Media Player and Community help client under /Applications and /Applications/Adobe.
-Uninstall AIR, using the Uninstaller App ( located in /Applications/Utilities )
-Delete the following directories if still there:
/Library/Frameworks/Adobe AIR.framework/
/Users/YOUR_USERNAME/Library/Application Support/Adobe/AIR/
Now install AI again.

  • OSX install error: "Adobe AIR Already installed"

I'm having an issue with Adobe AIR installer on my Mac.
Having already uninstalled a previous beta, I am presented with an
error message whenever the 1.0 installer is launched: "Adobe AIR
Already installed on this system". Of course, that is not the case
and for the life of me I can't get this blasted version to install.
So my Mac is running out of AIR, and so am I.
    Any ideas?

You can enable installer logging (
    http://blogs.adobe.com/simplicity/2007/10/air_installer_logging.html)
to find out why the installer thinks AIR is already installed.
Most likely, however, it is. Check /Library/Frameworks and
see if Adobe AIR.framework is already there.

Can you try to download the latest AIR runtime from http://get.adobe.com/air/ ? Make sure all applications are closed when you run the installer.

  • Need Adobe Air To Install Adobe Air

While trying to install another product my MacBook Pro i7 OS X verizion 10.7.2 informed me that it needed Adobe Air to install completely, so i travled to the Adobe page and downloaded Adobe Air, when trying to install this product I was informed that Adobe Air needed Adobe Air to be installed.

Attention Mac 10.7.2 users that are crashing with Adobe AIR
We are aware of the crashing that can occur with late model Apple computers running 10.7.2 and are working closely with Apple to address this. In the meantime here are a couple of workarounds you can use:
Open System Preferences, select Energy Saver and disable Automatic graphics switching (or use a third party GPU switcher, such as gfxCardStatus and enable the Nvidia GPU)
Before launching your AIR based application, launch either Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.
We apologize for the inconvenience and hope to have this resolved soon.

  • Adobe Air Not Installing - Admin account needed to install error

I am on a Windows Vista computer with over 100GB of harddrive space left.  I continue to get Adobe Air install errors. I have:
uninstalled from programs and Adobe Air is not showing up so that is good.
removed all references from Adobe Air from registry keys
installed Windows Program Clean Utility and confirmed Adobe is not showing up.
I am logged in as the only account that has admin rights to the computer.
I have restated and still continue to get same error for Adobe AIR 1.5.2 Installer program.
It keeps on saying install not succesful.  You need admin rights to install Adobe Air.
What do I do?  How do I install Adobe Air?  I have confirmed with Dell that computer is okay.  Internet connectivity is great to and no other programs having issue.

Kyle thanks for the idea and I thought that was going to work but it unfortunately did not. I did right click and chose the run as administrator option but still got the error that read:
An error occurred while installing Adobe AIR. Installation may not be allowed by your administrator. Please contact your administrator.
Attached is a screenshot and not sure what else to do.  This is a home computer that only has me as a user on it so I am the administrator.

  • Adobe Air update install fails

I have been using Acrobat.com as a desktop application. As of
today, every time I launch the application, I get an update
notification about an update for the Adobe Air platform for
Acrobat.com. When I click to update, the installation fails, and
the error message tells me to contact the autor of the application.
Do you know anything about this?

I have Acrobat.com installed on my system and I became aware
of an update which I understand to be called Acrobat.com AIR.
I downloaded Acrobat.com AIR but when it was installing, a
message appeared which read, "Same version as installed version."
Then I was given the option to "Un-install", the currently
    installed Acrobat.com, "Save" or "Cancel".
Since I wasn't sure of the outcome, I canceled the process to
play it safe. Was I being overly cautious?

  • Adobe Air not working - error on mouseover or any interaction

I had Adobe Air installed on Windows XP for a while, updated and all.
It was working fine a few days ago, then an error repeatedly started occurring immediately after running an app.
Normal Adobe Air deinstallation was not possible, due to the same problem - error on any GUI interaction.
I finally managed to do a reinstall without GUI to no avail (I reinstalled Flash also). Any Air app still exits with error immediately.
    Any ideas?

  • Adobe Air updater goes Error #1034

    Hi,
we've packaged an air application with an old version of air runtime that is automatically deployed to our customer computer.
Everything goes well on install, but when we launch our application, it logically propose our customer to update to the last version of Air.
The problem is that during the update process of air runtime (our application is still running), we have an error #1034 appearing.
the Adobe Air Updater logs are the following :
[2012-01-06:10:40:11] Runtime Installer begin with version 3.0.0.4080 on Windows 7 x86

[2012-01-06:10:41:05] Runtime Installer end with exit code 7
The most disturbing is that if we close our application and run the updater alone, everything goes well, and our application is running perfectly.
Anyone have a clue on what is happening?
    Thanks a lot
    Antoine

I've seen this error before in a few posts, but I don't think I've seen a solution or exact cause.  Are you seeing this on every system you try or is it isolated to particular machines?  If it's occurring everywhere, would you be willing to send me ([email protected]) your installer so I can give it a try?
    Thanks,
    Chris

  • Adobe Air starting up error

We use a motormanagement software for Yachts (N2Kview from Maretron ) on our computer. This software is using Adobe Air. When we start up the computer we will get an Adobe Air error message in Dutch on the desktop. Translation: "The installation of this program is damaged. Try to install the program again or contact the supplier". When we push the OK button everything works fine.
To solve the problem I already deleted Adobe Air with the device manager like the Adobe website advises and reinstalled Adobe Air again. This made no difference. Can somebody help me what to do to get ride of this error message.
The OS on the computer is windows 7 home edition and the Adobe Air version is 2.6

I'm sorry you're running into installation issues with AIR.  Microsoft has a utility that can help resolve installation problems.  Would you mind giving this a try and let us know how it works for you?  When running the Fix it, go through the uninstall process and try to remove Adobe AIR from your system.  Once finished, download the latest version of AIR and install again.
Microsoft Install and Uninstall Fix It
If you still encounter problems, we'll need to review the AIR installer log to better diagnose the issue.  Please post back with the log contents.  You can find instructions for finding these logs here:

    Thanks,
    Chris

  • Adobe AIR Seamless Install Badge PROBLEM

    Hello,
my air badge installation stop working few days back (do not know exactly how many).
Has anybody else this issue here?
    Any advice probably.
    Thanks

    Hi Chris,
    Thanks for the Reply.
After quite a bit more testing and some digging around under the hood, I've solved the problem. Below is what I found out, hopefully this will help others out with the same problem:
When downloading Air and the Air app in one go using the install badge, trying to open an SQL connection was throwing errors on most machines (it was not limited to Macs alone). If i down loaded Air separately, then installed the app with install badge (with air already  installed) it worked on some machines.
The error was caused by trying to create the database file at the wrong in the file system:
    // Causes Errors some machines.
    var dbFile:File =File.applicationDirectory.resolvePath (databaseName);
    // Works fine.
    var dbFile:File =File.applicationStorageDirectory.resolvePath (databaseName);
I'm not sure why the different installation process showed up the errors on some machines and not others, but it's fixed now.
    Hope this helps.
    Ali

  • Cannot install or uninstall Adobe AIR, or install NY Times Reader

    Runnning Window
s 7 Pro.  When trying to install Adobe AIR, or to uninstall the current version 2.5.
1, or to install an app that uses Adobe AIR, get message "This application requires a vers

Found the solution to many Windows Installer problems for the 64 bit version of Windows 7, including problems installing Adobe AIR.  This link is to an excellent explanation of a simple Installer parameter change in the Registry that worked for AIR and for a number of Windows updates as well.

  • I'm trying to download Adobe Air. Getting Error that I need newer version, but keep getting same error. Any help here?

Each time I try to download Adobe Air, I keep getting an error pop-up stating that I need to go to adobe to get a newer version.  Each time I attempt to do this, I receive the same error.  I'm able to get to the point where Adobe Air Installer icon appears.  I'm able to click on this icon but then I get the error.  Anyone else experiencing this problem?  Anyone have success getting through this problem?  Thank you!

If the Adobe product is not compatible with Lion, it's still Adobe's issue.  Even still, this is a MacBook Pro hardware forum, so if you think Lion caused it, try going to the Lion forum, maybe someone will be able to give you quick/helpful support.
