Adobe Air stopped working and will not install on my macbook

Hello, i have been having an issue with adobe Air for several hours where it will not launch any applications that use Adobe Air and then when i try and install a new version of Adobe air it will not lets me install the new version and gives me the error message
"This application requires a version of Adobe AIR which cannot be found.
Please download the latest version of the runtime from
http://www.adobe.com/go/getair,
or contact the application author for an updated version."
Now i have been looking for an answer to my problem all night, i tried several solutions to no avail these solutions include turning off automatic graphics switching, uninstalling all my adobe softwares and trying to reinstall Air, Downloading the Adobe Air with Firefox, Safari, and Google Chrome. None of these solutions worked and this is very frustrating.
Please can anyone give me a solution to my problem.

JacobEPhillips please try the steps listed in Troubleshoot AIR installation | Mac OS - http://helpx.adobe.com/air/kb/troubleshoot-air-installation-mac-os.html.

Suddenly all of my Office-programs have stopped working and will not launch on my MacBook. They were all already installed when I bought the computer. Could anyone give an amateur from Norway a hint of what may cause the problem? (And I can not find the installation-disc for the Office Programs...Super!)

Have you contacted Microsoft support - http://www.microsoft.com/mac/support ?

  • Been using CC2014 since introduced. The day of AdobeMax and "big announcements" CC app stopped working and will not install.

    I am on a Mac Pro, OS X 10.9.5, 16 GB RAM
I have been a fanatical Adobe devotee since 1989, but now I am beginning to see the value in other software packages.
All Adobe design programs (AI, PSD, ID) work, except CC app and Adobe Application Manager.
On the morning Adobe Max occurred, the CC drop down window in the main menu bar was suddenly empty. At first, I could see the black and grey bars at the top, but the only options were Quit and Help. Applications were no longer visible, or Behance. Now I do not even see the icon.
Interesting note — All the while, I am receiving a pop-up window saying my CS6 Application Manager is corrupt (!?!).
I have installed CC and AAM dozens of times. I see no evidence that there is a CC app installed. When I double click AdobeApplicationManager.app, I am required to type in my password, but nothing else happens.
I gave control of my system to an Adobe techie (while he trashed some files and installed CC again), but he told me to log out and back in, but I lost connection with him (after 4 HOURS). Anyway it made no difference.
In System Preferences ---> Users and Groups ---> Login Items (where you can click a box for a program to NOT start at login), Adobe Creative Cloud is in the list with a YELLOW WARNING SIGN meaning it cannot find that program.
BTW, when I try to update programs from within the programs, absolutely nothing happens.
    Any ideas???

Wow, Karan Taneja, you've just embarrassed yourself on a worldwide support forum.  Not only is your post ridiculous and completely inappropriate for a technical support forum, but it also shows your ignorance as to whom you think the audience is.  Apple is not here.  It's users, like you.
If you would have spent half the time actually reading the Terms of Use of this forum that YOU agreed to by signing up to post, as you did composing that usesless, inappropriate post, you (and the rest of us on this forum) would have been much better off.

Operating system? and how are you opening it? From a shortcut, from the welcome screen, from the organizer, from the program/application file itself?

  • Since downloading iOS 8 on my iPad 2 it has stopped working and will not connect to iTunes

Since downloading iOS 8 on my iPad 2 it has stopped working and will not connect to iTunes to do a restore.  I have tried to do a reset using the sleep button and home key and all I get is a white band across the screen and then it boots into the main system but it is just a series of white lines going across the screen, how can I do a restore on this?

    Hey dbwithers,
Thanks for the question. I understand that you are experiencing issues with your iPad after attempting to update to iOS 8. To isolate these issues, let’s try placing your iPad in recovery mode and attempting a restore with iTunes:

  • HT201413 my ipad stopped working and will not start error message 1601 comes up when i try to restore any one have advice on what to do

my ipad 4 stopped working, it will not switch on, charge nor will it allow me to restore, the errror message 1601 comes up when trying to restore does anyone know how to help as i am not near an apple store to get help

You have already seen this for Error 9
This error occurs when the device unexpectedly loses its USB connection with iTunes.  This can occur if the device is manually disconnected during the restore process.  This issue can be resolved by performing USB troubleshooting, using a different USB dock-connector cable, trying another USB port, restoring on another computer, or by eliminating conflicts from third-party security software.
    For a new machine Error 11 !
Check Hosts file if it is diverting iTunes away from Apple servers.

  • FireFox has stopped working and will not run after fresh install

Yesterday I noticed that the address bar was not working and the graphics were not being shown correctly. When I typed in the address bar it would no atuto complete and even if i typed yahoo.com nothin would happen. The only way I could go to a website was to use my bookmarks.
I did a fresh install and now it doesn't work at all. So, I uninstalled firefox and then did a fresh install. Sill nothing. IE, Chrome, and Safari work fine.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

  • Pavilion DV6 1320sl stopped working and will not boot

Pavillion DV6 1320 was beiing used.  Had been running hot - fan was on all the time. The left mouse pad button was pushed and the screen went black with a blinking cursor. It will not boot.  There have been no software or hardware changes, a nd it hasn't been dropped.  Win  7 64 bit is installed and it has run OK since new in 2009.  There are no error messages.  Turning off the machine is with i single depress of the power button.
Turning machine on disk=plays BIOS message to sel esc to enter BIOS.  From BIOS, system check of memory, hard disk and hard disk SMART have been run.  All passed.
No other BIOS function works - ie f9, f8 ,or f11 all do nothing.
I ran the hard reset to no avail.  The buttons glow but the screen remains black with blinking cursor.  I followed the HP guideline for trouble shooting a black screen with glowing buttons.  Didn't help.  swapped each memory bank and tried each possible bank configuration.  Didn't help.  Replaced the RTC battery and reset BIOS to default.  Didn't help.  Hooked up another monitor but that didn't help either.
I did not try system restore, but f11 doesn't work and booting from cd was unclear as to results - I didn't have  a boot disk so I used disk 1 of the restore set.  Nothing happened.
I used canned air to blow out the cooling holes but they didn't seem clogged (although the fan was on much of the time these past few months).
I'd appreciate any ideas.  Perhaps a component has been burned.  What would be the visible symptoms of a CPU failure?  What about the chip set - if the Northbridge fails, what would it look like?
I don't think it has actually loaded and is a video chip failure but who knows?  I'm open to suggestions.

  • Itunes has stopped working and will not open

itunes stopped working for unknown reason and would not open. after several tries I used system restore taking it back to an earlier date.  when that failed to work, I uninstalled and downloaded new version, several times. still would not open and I am pretty sure I lost my library which is frustrating because I use it for work. completely confused about what to do next. I am running windows 7.

Not completely sure. But if you think it is an iTunes issue...... follow through this: Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
ALSO, if you feel like all your music will be gone as well follow through these 2:
    > Downloading past purchases from App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
    > How to use your iPod to move your music to a new computer
IF YOU THINK ITS A COMPUTER ISSUE, RESTART YOUR COMPUTER BEFORE DOING ALL THIS.

  • PSE 12 has stopped working and will not open.

PSE 12 suddenly stopped working while editing.  I tried restarting the Organizer which opens but does not finish loading after a few seconds, and gives an error message ... "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.  Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."  I've received no notifications.  Any suggestions?  Do I download another copy?  How do I locate and retain my Catalog which is really important?  Thanks in advance.

  • My Wi-Fi randomly stopped working and will not turn on.

So one night, I closed all my applications and did the regular routine, "procedures" if you will. The next morning, I turned on my MacBook and the Wi-Fi said it was off, and so I turned it on, but it wouldn't turn on. The little icon would stay at the off position while the menu is stating it is on and it isn't! It also doesn't search or join other networks. I decided to take matters into my own hands and rebooted into Recovery mode, I disconnected the Ethernet (Which works perfectly fine EVEN THOUGH the Wi-Fi doesn't work) and turned my Wi-Fi on, and I was blown-away. The Wi-Fi was full strength and was working fine. I checked my Facebook and Twitter without a beep. What is the problem here? I have installed the 10.8.5 Supplemental Update and it still doesn't work.
    Please help!

Result. My wifi is back working again.
After a number of evenings trawling through the support pages, I found a youtube clip from a chap taking his macbook apart and locating the airport adaptor and connecting cables.
The cable in question is located in the black plastic bar below the display and is a pain to get to. Apprently the most common cause of this issue is the cable becoming dislodged through an impromptu knock. I can see how this happened to me by travelling on the London Underground everyday with my mac in my shoulder bag.
Anyway, having seen the video, I bottled it and went to the genius bar obviously having seen the clip. I had a worst case scenario quote of £95.00, but a quote for a replacement cable and reseal being much less. I'm quite savvy but my mac is sacred and i'd rather the pros did it. Turned out to be £37.00 and my mac came back fixed and clean.... £37.00 for piece of mind is well worth it.
Here's the youtube clip but please don't take unnecessary risks. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UsSIUs7jzQc
    Best of luck all.
