Adobe AIR update has no digital signature. Is this normal?

I installed Adobe Air and it says it needs to update. But when I click Update, my firewall says there is no digital signature. So, I don't kow if this Adobe product is OK.
Every time, when I surf the Web, I get an Update Adobe message. I don't know if I should update. Last time I did, my computer crashed. It keeps crashing now every 45 minutes. This is why I tried to update Adobe to start with.
Thank you in advance for any help in dealing with this Adobe update with no digital signature.

This seems to be the case, as the two products are developed by the same team.

I am unable to install an Adobe Air update.  I am running Windows7, getting error code 80040154.  Could it be Kapersky anti virus software blocking?

Thank you for your help.  I have suspended Kapersky but I cannot find Air when I search in the Programs and when I try to install I now get a message saying 'it may be your administrator blocking you'.  I am the only user and set up as the Administrator but do not know how to check if this is the case.
I have managed to install the application that needs Air on an old XP notebook.  Much Appreciation for your help. RJ

  • Adobe Air updater goes Error #1034

    Hi,
we've packaged an air application with an old version of air runtime that is automatically deployed to our customer computer.
Everything goes well on install, but when we launch our application, it logically propose our customer to update to the last version of Air.
The problem is that during the update process of air runtime (our application is still running), we have an error #1034 appearing.
the Adobe Air Updater logs are the following :

The most disturbing is that if we close our application and run the updater alone, everything goes well, and our application is running perfectly.
Anyone have a clue on what is happening?
    Thanks a lot
    Antoine

I've seen this error before in a few posts, but I don't think I've seen a solution or exact cause.  Are you seeing this on every system you try or is it isolated to particular machines?  If it's occurring everywhere, would you be willing to send me ([email protected]) your installer so I can give it a try?
    Thanks,

This app requires a newer version of Adobe AIR - update Adobe AIR now?
of course when I do click on the Update button - nothing happens, it just goes back to the main screen of the Emulator.
How do I update it. I now know how to install Adobe AIR runtime into the Emulator, but I can't find how one updates it?
I only installed "adt-bundle-windows-x86_64-20130219" a few days ago...

  • Our business pc had an Adobe Air update. Now pc won't boot up any windows processes.

The Adobe Air update popped up and my biz partner accepted it without reading it. Now the pc won't boot up. He cannot even get to the point of removing the update or restoring the pc. Was this some type of malware or an error that Adobe can correct? HOW do I get it off?

It could be malware: there are LOT of fake updates going around at the moment.
What does the PC do - where does it get to in the boot, what happens next?

Try to download the updates manually from the Adobe website. I believe you need something like Acrobat 9.2.x for full Windows 7 compatibility.

  • Mac G3 w/ Tiger 10.4.3 update problem/issue "digital signature incorrect"

I have an old G3 on which I reloaded 10.4.3 yesterday (Retail copy). It did not go very smoothly. This is the 3rd install; 1st install was several months ago with this chip, 2nd install was shortly after that with a PowerLogix chip which didn't work. I put the old chip/processor back in yesterday and reinstalled again. I don't remember if I messed with the firmware or not with the previous installs.
    PowerMacG3, Model 1.1, PowerPC750, 256meg, BootRom 1.1.1f4
The software updater tells me I need to update to 10.4.8. When I proceed with this, the system downloads the software OK, but when it attempts to install the update I get the following error:
The update "Mac OS X Update Combined (PowerPC) can't be installed.
The digital signature for this package is incorrect.
The package may have been tampered with or corrupted since being signed by "Apple".
Any ideas as to how I resolve this? Could the problem be with the OS registration, and the different chips?
    Thanks in advance.

Yes, I can do a nozzle check with the USB unplugged,
and I still get poor results on the C82 and nothing
on the C86. I just can't believe both printers are
broken. The C86 is new, and they were both working
    fine previously.
Epsons are notorious for getting their print heads clogged. Run the clean print head routine a few times. If that doesn't work, return the new printer 'cause it's dead out of the box. The old printer, well, once Epson print heads get to a certain level of clogging, nothing will unclog them. Toss the printer and get a new one. Hint: HP and (some) Canon printers put the print heads in the ink cartridges, while Epson and (some) Canons have the print heads in the printers. Machines which have the heads in the carts also have an easy fix for severe clogs: toss the cart. Warning: HP printer drivers stink.
If you don't need colour, you might think seriously about getting a low-end laser.
I just got the C82 to print readably, but still
completely missing magenta and with minimal
fuzziness. This was just dumb luck though, from
letting the printer sit idle for several hours.
It's still clogged. Clean the heads a few times again, or just toss it.
And yes, I've tried setups through the Print & Fax
pref pane, which usually works better than going
through the Printer Setup Utility which tends to
    freeze and crash.
I wish I could afford to just buy another printer.
But I'm still worried it's something to do with my
computer, since both printers are having problems
simultaneously, and they're both really good
    all-purpose printers.
It's not your machine. It's Epson.

When downloading updated for Quicktime 7 and Itunes 10 I keep getting an error saying that files shared by these updates has an invalid signature and that the downloaded has been removed. If I don't get that message I get a message saying that the download was unsuccesful and that in order to download I need to go to tools and then select dowload only. Please help I really want to update my iphone!

Thanks for helping out, but I already tried these steps.
I even tried this on a iMac with similar results. The only difference was that the errorcode was called 2001 instead of 21.
Today I took the phone to www.iphoneambulancen.dk. A guy (in Aarhus, Denmark) that specializes in iPhone repairs. I figured, that given his occupation he'd seen most errorcdes. Two hours later, he called me back, and told me that he had replaced the battery.
So, it turns out that a broken battery can cause this behaviour.
    But thanks again

  • Adobe AIR Updater

Whle in PSE 9 I received a prompt to update the Adobe Air Updater... what is
this and do I need it?  Never heard of this so unsure what to do.  Thanks.

That's a normal update for some Adobe applications, so it
    should be ok to update.

  • When updating iTunes to 11.4 I get the following error:  "Files Shared by these updates" has an invalid signature. It will not be installed. Running Windows 7 64-bit.

When updating iTunes to 11.4 I get the following error:  "Files Shared by these updates" has an invalid signature. It will not be installed. Running Windows 7 64-bit.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • Security Update 2009-004 Digital Signature failure

Recently prompted to install this update "Security Update 2009-004 (Intel)" so I initiated install only to get a pop up after a few mins saying:
*The update "Security Update 2009-004 (Intel)" can't be installed.*
The digital signature for this package is incorrect. The package may have been tampered with or corrupted since being signed by "Apple".
Anyone know what this slightly worrying message means and any advice on what to do next? I've read elsewhere that the security update isn't really necessary for my situation (being a simple macbook user) but more concerned about the tampered and or corrupted aspect of the message.
    Should I be worried readers?

Hi BucksFraz, and a warm welcome to the forums!
Could be many things, we should start with this...
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Tiger Mac OS X Install disc that came with your computer, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    5. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then Safe Boot , (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it finishes.
The usual reason why updates fail or mess things up, or things don't load/run, is if Permissions are not fixed before & after every update, with a reboot... you may get a partial update when the installer finds it doesn't have Permissions to change one obscure little part of the OS, leaving you with a mix of OS versions.
Some people get away without Repairing Permissions for years, some for only days.
If Permissions are wrong before applying an update, you could get mixed OS versions, if Directory is the slightest messed up, who knows!
If many Permission are repaired, or any Directory errors are found, you may need to re-apply some the latest/biggest updates again, or even do an A&I if you have enough free disk space.
The combo update for PowerPC-based Macs...
    http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/macosx10411comboupdateppc.html
The combo update for Intel-based Macs...
    http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/macosx10411comboupdateintel.html
Repair Permissions before & after re-install, then reboot again each time.
If all the above fails, then it appears to be time for a relatively painless Archive & Install, which gives you a new/old OS, but can preserve all your files, pics, music, settings, etc., as long as you have plenty of free disk space and no Disk corruption, and is relatively quick & painless...
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107120
Just be sure to select Preserve Users & Settings.
I only use Software Update to see what is needed, then get them for real via...
    http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/
That way I can wait a week or so, check the forums for potential problems, and get Permissions & such in order before installing.

  • I am getting error :digital signature for this package is incorrect--

I have completed a clean install and have installed OS 9.2 as well as OS 10.3
and OS 10.4.2 from install DVDs apparently successfully. Now when I attempt to install the software updates for my computer, I get error that the digital signature of this package is incorrect and may have been corrupted since signed by apple. I have previously had all software up to date using software update/s etc. So how do I fix this digital signature Problem??
    Harold

    Hi, Harold and baltwo —
    (1) Harold, I agree with baltwo's advice to try using "stand-alone" downloads as a short-term "work-around."  But I realize this may be unsatisfying — if the error becomes chronic.
    (2) baltwo's advice to search Apple's KnowledgeBase is normally a very useful resource — but in this instance, only provides links to a few articles about the topic as it relates to OS 9, Mail.app, and OS X Server. If you'd like to read background info about the current usage of digital signatures, you'll find info that's a bit more relevant from:
        •  Help »» Mac Help »» "What is a digital identity" and "certificate"
        •  an ADC search (using, e.g., [ exact phrase: "digital signature" and all the words:
           "OS X" ] as terms)
        •  a Google•Mac search.
However, in terms of resolving your situation, I'm inclined to think that most of the search results will be academic. If you search through these discussions to see others' Software Update problems and solutions, you'll find this error message is relatively common — and seems to represent a number of conditions (based on the differing solutions).
    (3) I haven't noticed a cogent solution that spans these problems. But the troubleshooting process outlined in KnowledgeBase Articles 106695: Troubleshooting Automatic Software Update in Mac OS X and 106692: Troubleshooting installation and software updates may be helpful. As the latter suggests, you may want to try logging-in to a temporary "test" administrator account as a means to determine whether your account's keychain is implicated specifically. (...or another user-specific issue.)
Please post back to discuss your progress.
    Good luck!
    Dean
