Adobe Anchor Service CS3 fails to install

Trying to install Photoshop CS3, it always fails due to a component installation failure:
Adobe Anchor Service CS3
Skipping operation because required operation failed with code: 2
Followed a lot of forum suggestion, CS3Clean, uninstall this and that, the problem persists.
Both GUI and silent install have the same problem.
Tried installing AdobeALMAnchorServiceAll directly with
msiexec /i AdobeALMAnchorServiceAll.msi ADOBE_SETUP=1 UPGRADINGPRODUCTCODE=1 /qb

  • Installing Problem: Adobe Anchor Service CS4 Error: Error 2.

    Hello all,
I use a 32bit Windows Seven system, and I've got a problem during the install process (Adobe Anchor Service CS4
    Error:
    Error 2. )
I used to have After Effects (installed with the same installer i'm trying to use now), then, I've formatted my PC, and since then, wasn't able to install it again.
I've tried resetting my pc, closing all aps, like the program suggests, downloaded the Support Advisor, tried both ways he told (even though the problem in the link wasn't the same as mine) and it still havent installed.
Does anyone knows how to solve it?
    Thanks

There is a piece of Adobe software that removes all traces of a previous installation, making re-installation go much smoother.
Unfortunately, I don't remember its name.  But someone will, and they might even have a link to it.

  • Error message: Adobe Anchor Service CS4 1603

    Hello! need help!
When installing the CS4 Premium suite on one of our company PC's we are getting this error right before it starts to install-
Error message: Adobe Anchor Service CS4
    Error 1603
    Fatal error during install
I have tried everything to get around it, with not luck. I have tried disabling everything running in the background, ran the cleanup script, I am an administrator on the PC so we have checked all the permission settings..registered and unregistered the windows installer, cleaned out the temp folder...
We are completely out of options at this point..has anyone else run into this issue?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

    Hi All,
I was facing the same issue and i have got the answer.
You have to follwo the mentioned below steps:
First check the Windows System Logs (Event Viewer -> Application), all it would tell you “Product: Adobe Anchor Service CS4 — Installation operation failed.”.
Basically you need to complete 2 simple steps.
    1) Download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility here:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301
    2) Download, unzip, and run the Adobe Windows CS3 Cleanup Script (which relies on the Windows program mentioned above to run) here:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cs3clean.html
I only had to run level 3 of the cleanup script to make it work.
As I said before, even though the Cleanup Script says it’s for CS3, it did work for me in installing CS4 as well.
Note: This is something we should use with Win 32 not with Win 64.

    Sam

  • Adobe Anchor Service CS4 Error 1612. The installation source for this product is not available.

    Hi,
I've been trying to install CS4 Design Premium, except that I got this message:
    Adobe Anchor Service CS4
    Error:
Error 1612. The installation source for this product is not available. Verify that the source exists and that you can access it.
What is wrong and how do I fix it? I've installed this on my sister's laptop as well, but I've already uninstall it. Could this be the reason why?
    Help appreciated, thanks!

Contact Adobe Technical Support for CS4 installation issues.
The problem has nothing to do with the fact that you already installed the same software on your "sister's laptop as well." And although you have already uninstalled it (and hopefully deactivated it as well), please remember that this software is licensed for a single user! You and your sister cannot somehow share the license.

  • Error Message reads: "Adobe Acrobat Updater Certificate failed to install."

I am unable to make any updates to my Adobe programs (including creative suite CS3). Everytime I try, I type in my password, but I always get the same error message: Adobe Acrobat Updater Certificate failed to install.
I believe this is happening because I actually inherited my Adobe programs, including the MacBook Pro the programs are installed on. The owner used to be a relative who, sadly, passed away. I thought I had changed everything to be under my name as the owner, but having never done it before it's possible I missed something? Perhaps my relative's name is still recognized as the owner?
Please help as this is wreaking havoc in many "little" ways...
    Thanks.

Had the same problem. Found two updaters on the computer. Go to "applications/utilities/adobe utilities". Threw away the folder "Adobe Updater5". Ran the "Adobe Updater6/Adobe Updater.app". Problem gone.

  • Possibly off topic: "Adobe Anchor Service": WTF?

    G'day
My CFB trial has finally expired so I am deinstalling it.
I notice alongside the raft of other Adobe applications installed on my machine, there's something called "Adobe Anchor Service".  What's that then?  Can I get rid?
I have the following Adobe products installed, is it something to do with one of them:
    AIR
CF8 & CF9 (am sure it's nowt to do with CF)
    Flash Player plugin & activex
    Flex Builder 3.0
    Acrobat Reader
I've googled about a bit, but cannot get any good answer; most docs on this Anchor Service are other people asking this same question, as far as I can tell.
    Adam

This post is rather old but, I'm gonna attempt to answer. Basically, the service is similar to Abobe's "Switchboard.exe"/"Switchboard Server". A simple "bridge" and/or framework between your Adobe applications. Hence, it won't disrupt your workflow greatly.
PS: This is only my opinion.

  • Adobe After Effects CS3 won't install

I have windows XP, and I used to have my version of Adobe After Effects CS3 installed. Then I uninstalled it because it kept crashing, but I forgot to deactivate it before I uninstalled it. Now every time I've tried reinstalling it, the installation goes completely fine until the last step, when it says:
    Summary:
    Successfully installed: 3 component(s):
Adobe After Effects CS3 Template Projects and Footage
Adobe After Effects CS3 Third Party Content
    Shared Components
    Errors: 2 component(s):
    Adobe After Effects CS3
         Component install failed
    Shared components
         component install failed
I don't know how to fix this! I've tried multiple times at reinstalling it but each time without success. I've also ran the installation as administrator, and I've restarted my computer. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks a lot!

Did you correctly uninstall the software? Are there other Adobe programs on the system? Sounds like there are other, newer versions that throw off the install. You need to uninstall those and reinstall them after you have installed CS3. Also simply delete the caps.db in C:\Program Files\Common Fiels\Adobe\caps. And for further diagnosis it might help to have a look at the install logs.

  • Adobe Creative Cloud package fails to Install - Mac OSX Mavericks

I've been trying to get the Adobe Creative Cloud package that I had built with the Creative Cloud Packager installed onto a staff member's Mac but it always ends with "The Installation Failed" (No error code or explanation). If I watch the Application folders while it's running, Dreamweaver CC 2014 and Flash Builder 4.6 pop up but then get removed and then the installation fails. I have already run the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool, renamed the OOBE folder, and tried the installation with a newly created admin account. The package installs just fine on other Macs, but this one did have older versions of Adobe Software from CS5 and CS4 installed. I uninstalled them but my guess is that there's left over files somewhere causing a conflict.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
    Thank You!

I managed to find a solution to the problem. I ended up uninstalling every Adobe related application and then went through the user/library and system/library and removed everything Adobe from the Application Support and Preferences folders. Unfortunately, I do not know what application or file was ultimately causing the issue.
    Thanks again!

  • Adobe Reader 11 MUI failing to install using transform and patch 11.0.10 via cmd/SCCM in one package

    Hello,
I have all the files, MST and the patch located in one folder. I am trying to use the following MSI command lines locally on my computer before I can attempt to deploy this via SCCM 2012. I am having issues either with the package not compatible or using /p and getting the MSIEXEC help window prompt. I've tried a few command lines:
    msiexec /i AcroRead.msi PATCH="AdbeRdrUpd11010_MUI.msp" TRANSFORMS="AcroRead.mst"
    msiexec /i AcroRead.msi /p AdbeRdrUpd11010_MUI.msp TRANSFORMS="AcroRead.mst"
    msiexec /i AcroRead.msi TRANSFORMS="AcroRead.mst" /p AdbeRdrUpd11010_MUI.msp
Adding /qn on the end makes the install work silently when not attempting to include the patch, but fails to install it silently when only using the transform file that I have selected in the wizard to silently install.
We have 5 different versions from 8.0 through 10.0 in our environment of 3000 machines. Sadly this was not managed before...I can easily update our current 11.0 versions that range from 11 to 11.0.09 by only applying the patch to them but need to get the full install working for the 2500 machines I need to target.
I tried using the /a command which seems to work, but creates program files and common files folders inside my adobe folder on the desktop when executing it from the cmd. Am i suppose to package that folder all in one and then use the /i command to install adobe? I've been researching for a week but finally hit a wall where I dont think I am getting anywhere.
    Thank you in advance,
    Kevin

I have almost answered my own question as I just came across this link
    https://it-god.co.uk/deploy-adobe-reader-xi-11-0-10-with-sccm-2012/
This is for the plain reader version, but we use MUI now (due to other languages required in our environmet). I get to the part where it asks to apply the patch to the AIP folder but it fails.
    msiexec /p AdbeRdrUpd11010.msp /a C:\Reader\11.0.10\AcroRead.msi
I changed this to account for the MUI naming,
    msiexec /p AdbeRdrUpd11010_MUI.msp /a C:\Reader\11.0.10\AcroRead.msi
But I get the windows prompt that says this package can not be opened, please verify. I ensured that both the patch and base install were MUI versions, and i downloaded fresh copies of each. I also unblocked the patch so that it can run. No luck so far.
EDIT: Using another guide i found the command line (modified the path to my location) and this worked,
    msiexec /a C:\adobe\Reader\11.0.10\AcroRead.msi /qb /p AdbeRdrUpd11010_MUI.msp TARGETDIR=C:\adobe\Reader\11.0.10\

  • Asset Intelligence Update Service Point fails to install

    Hi,
I have one SCCM 2012 sp1 cu2 primary site running on Windows 2008 R2, and a separate SQL 2008 R2 database runnining in a cluster.
I installed the Asset Intelligence Service point using the default settings, but the component is critical.
When I look in AIUSMSI.log it tells me I do not have permissions to configure services - I am a local administrator on the primary server though and I can manuall stop and start services - error is:
Product: Asset Intelligence Update Service Point -- Error 1920. Service 'AI_Upate_Service_Point failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services.
I ran the AIUS.msi and recieved the same error.
I went into services and stopped and restarted BITS, so my permissions seem fine. Has anyone else seen this problem?
    Thanks
    Jaz

I have created a Reddit in SCCM, describing my peoblem.
Please, can anyone take a look at it?
    http://www.reddit.com/r/SCCM/comments/2jbkfr/asset_inteligence_update_service_installation_ai/
    it goes like this:
I have came across an error entry in Monitoring node in SCCM console. Monitoring - System Status - Component Status, there was an entry about AI Update Service giving errors like this:
    1) On 10/15/14 08:38:03, component SMS_SITE_COMPONENT_MANAGER on computer "SERVER FQDN" reported: Site Component Manager failed to reinstall this component on this site system.
Solution: Review the previous status messages to determine the exact reason for the failure. Site Component Manager will automatically retry the reinstallation in minutes. To force Site Component
Manager to immediately retry the reinstallation, stop and restart Site Component Manager using the Configuration Manager Service Manager.
    2) Product: Asset Intelligence Update Service Point -- Error 1920. Service 'AI_UPDATE_SERVICE_POINT' (AI_UPDATE_SERVICE_POINT) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start
    system services.
What I have tried to do: - Reinstall the role from ConfigMgr console
    - Install the AI role manualy from .\ConfigMgr\bin\x64\AIUS.msi with elevated rights (domain admin rights) and from elevated CMD (domain admin rights) - Install the AIUS.msi with local administrator
    account
    Manual installation was both:
    - During the time SCCM tries to reinstall the role by it self
    - During the time the role isn't installed at all
    - During the time the role was installed before it was uninstalled for the first time when I started troubleshooting this
Basically nothing can start the service during the installation, not even account with domain admin rights.
Do you have any idea what can I do next?

  • DW CS3 fails to Install in Vista Home Premium

    Hi,
My new DW CS3 disk will not install DW to my Vista Home
    Premium machine.
I am looged on as admin. I have tried the suggestions on the
support page. Disabled norton, Disabled Google toolbar. Tried to
weed out incomplete Adobe files etc.
Starngely older Adobe apps, Premiere Pro and After Effects
installed with right click and selecting "run as XP program. i have
found no way to do this with the CS3 disk.
A forum search uncovered no new ideas. Two other DW support
    forums have been fruitless also.
I need this to run ASAP.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,

If that fails to solve the problem, then I recommend you
    contact Adobe

  • Service Deployment Fails on "Install VM components"

I've been having an issue trying to deploy a basic service. It fails on the "Install VM components" step. I'm using VMM 2012R2 and this originally happened with a Hyper-V host of Server 2008R2 and then again with Server 2012R2. The error is
    Error (22042)
The service Base 2012 Test was not successfully deployed. Review the event log to determine the cause and corrective actions.
    Recommended Action
The deployment can be restarted by retrying the job.
    Error (12710)
VMM does not have appropriate permissions to access the Windows Remote Management resources on the server ( <HVserver>.<company>.com).
    Unknown error (0x80338105)
    Recommended Action
    1) Ensure that the Windows Remote Management (WS-Management) service is running on the server (<HVserver>.<company>.com).
    2) If the System Center Virtual Machine Manager service on your VMM management server is configured to run by using the machine account, ensure that there is not a group policy that does not allow adding machine accounts to a computer's Administrators group. If there is, you can use one of the following workarounds:
    - Disable the group policy in Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS)
    - Modify the group policy to allow the VMM machine account in the Administrators group
    - Move the machine account to its own organizational unit (OU) and block the group policy from being applied
    - Reinstall the VMM management server and choose the option to run the System Center Virtual Machine Manager service by using a domain account, and re-add all of your virtual machines.
VMM is running as system but the machine account was added to the administrators group for the Hyper-V server. There's no group policy that would prevent this and I can launch Powershell from from VMM server as System and "Enter-PSSession" to the
Hyper-V host as the machine account. I've also moved the Hyper-V host to an OU with no group policy just to rule anything out there and it still fails at the same spot.
Any suggestions on what I should try next?
EDIT: Also, I can deploy from a VM template fine, but it doesn't look like a VM template uses the "Install VM Components" step.

I was just able to get it working on mine on a VMMR2 Cluster (hyper-v on 2012 and 2012 R2 hosts with the same success) and the Service Template using a VM template with Server 2008R2 Enterprise.  I don't know if you did the same steps but:
created a fresh VM in VMM - install Virtual Guest Services.
convert that VM to a VM Template - VMM then copies the VM files to a location on your VMM Library.
create Service template using the new VM template - with no services.
I've had problems in the past with trying to convert a VM to a template, and the VM would fail at the 'Fix up differencing disks' ..  It wasn't until I did a fresh install instead of trying to convert a VM copy of a copy of a copy of a V2V migration..
Mine completes successfully but with an error couldn't install Virtual Guest Services when they are already installed.  hmmm..  The VM/Service is running fine however.
    ---------------------------- Error I got -------------------------------
    Error (13233)
Unable to install Virtual Guest Services on virtual machine TEST_SERVICE. The Hyper-V Integration Services setup exited with error code 60001.
    Recommended Action
For more information, refer to the Hyper-V documentation for virtual machine integration services at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=118036 and then try the operation again.

  • Security Update for exchange server 2013SP1 KB3011140 Stops all services and failes to install

    Hi All,
Over the past 2 days this update has tried to run on the server in the evening but ends up failing. When it fails it is causing all of our exchange services to stop working and when we try to check e-mails the following day we find out the e-mail service
has been offline since the update.
Is there anything specific we need to do before running this update?
    Cheers,

    Hi,
As what Hotaka says, this update is available from
Windows Update. If it fails, we can also download and install the updates manually. The following stand-alone file is available for download from the Microsoft Download Center:
Download the security update for Exchange 2013 Service Pack 1 package now.
Download the security update for Exchange 2013 Cumulative Update 6 package now.
