What version of Photoshop Elements are you trying to install?  Do you receive any error messages when installing Photoshop Elements?

  • Issues with Adobe and Windows 8

I'm trying to use Creative Cloud's free trial run, but I have come up against a HUGE issue. For the last four weeks, I have tried in vain to get CS6 to install on my computer. I have a Dell Laptop with Windows 8 (which I am already quite disliking), and I have tried a multitude of methods to get the programs to install. I have tried using the adobe download manager (the download fails after downloading every time), directly downloading the programs (to which I get an error when the instillation is at 99% saying I don't have enough disc space, and I have plenty), changing the ULA(?) code in my registry to get the instillation to run, and trying to run the install under Window's 7's settings, to no avail. I'm getting extremely frustrated, is there something I'm doing wrong, or is this a common problem with Windows 8?

    Hi Automatic motion,
Try disabling non microsoft startup services viz antivirus etc ( Ref : http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/disable-startup-items-servic es-windows.html ) and then try installing.
You might also want to enable the hidden admin account ( Ref : http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/enable-the-hidden-adminis trator-account-on-windows-vista/ ) and then try install in this account and check.
    You can also troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5 -cs5.html.

  • Adobe and Windows 7 Professional Service Package Updates

After Microsoft sent down  the latest Service Pack update, both Adobe Photoshop CS6 and Lightroom...both of  which had been running previously...now fail to initialize.   The message given was:  Microsoft has been alerted with this problem and will send back a solution.  I called the Adobe Help desk.  We proceeded to de-install everything that could be causing a conflict on the Hewett Packard HP170 running Windows 7 Professional:  all adobe plug-in software, a 2nd monitor, a Wacom Intuos 4 tablet.  Then we uninstalled and reinstalled both Lightroom 4.1 and Photoshop CS6 The problem continued.  Repair referred the situation to "tier 2 support".  That was 3 days ago.
In the meantime, I tried an experiment:    Using the  MSCONFIG command, I started the computer in DIAGNOSTIC STARTUP mode rather than NORMAL.  Then I tried to start the previously-new download  CS6 Photoshop and Lightroom 4.1.  BOTH STARTED SUCCESFULLY.  However, both appear now to be trial software.  When I go back to Normal Startup in windows program MSCONFIG,  the need to register for a trial comes up for Photoshop and Lightroom 4.1 doesn't let you save any changes.
This is not the first Service Pack upgrade/Adobe conflict I have experienced  For the past year, every time Microsoft sent down a service package update, an Adobe program...usually photoshop but sometimes Premier...would stop working. In two severe cases, I took the computer to a dealer who restored the machine to pre-service-pack update points.  . But with the cloud software and CS6, that really should end!
Do you have any suggestions on how to fix this problem?  If not, do you have a way to get adobe to get back to me on trouble ticket 183659886?

Are you saying you installed Service Pack 1 after installing Photoshop CS6 and that stopped Photoshop working?
Because if you're just talking about Windows Update, I keep my systems up to date and no Windows updates have stopped Adobe software from working here.
I know the problem seems simple from your perspective, but apparently it's not.
That your software starts when you bring up the system in Safe Mode probably says that something else you have installed and running on that system is interfering.
Perhaps if you'll explain exactly what it is that's going wrong (when it doesn't work) with specifics, some folks here might be able to help you.  It might be as simple as Windows Update delivering a bum display driver, which you could override yourself by going to the web site of the maker of your video card.
Do you know how to read the Windows event logs?

  • Adobe and Windows color mismatch

I went to the house of a pro photographer friend to help him set up and learn Lightroom.
All went well until the export stage. We exported a RAW file as a jpeg to the desktop. I made sure the setting for the image was
    b sRGB.
After saving, we looked at the image in ACDSee and also dragged to Internet Explorer. In those applications, the images looked brighter and over saturated. By the way, the same problem was noted when images were exported from PhotoShop. So this is not exclusively a Lightroom problem. It seems that PhotoShop and Lightroom save these images in such a way that they do not render accurately on standard viewing applications. When re-importede back into either Lightroom or PS they look fine.
    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v18/wixmith/Technical/Diffferent_rendering.jpg
Again, export was carefully done to sRGB color space. Ironically, when exported as jpegs converted using Adobe RGB, the images looked correct in IE and ACDSee. I do not have this problem on my own system. Exported images look fine.
    Any ideas?

    >The point of mapping the color space to sRGB is to insure that the image as viewed in IE is as close possible to what you see in Lightroom.
That only works on a sRGB monitor. On another monitor, like your expensive LaCie, the absence of color management will display the image as if it is in the monitor profile. This means that everything will become more saturated. This is an unavoidable consequence of not color managing. ONLY in color managed apps will you see the right color. This is true for every monitor even more consumer oriented ones. Internet explorer will never ever show you the correct color.
    >A wider gamut monitor should affect the image in Lightroom and in IE the same if Lightroom is doing its job correctly.
Absolutely not. That is not how color management works. Only managed apps will display the real color. Lightroom is managed. Managed apps correct the color that is displayed by correcting for the actual gamut of your display.

Ok thanks Linxup I would recommend posting in the respective forums for each of those software titles as opposed to the Creative Cloud Download & Install forum.  The relevant forums are as follows:

  • Frequent Fails when installing Adobe Flash Player (Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8.0, and Windows 8.1)

Constantly see the following error message from Adobe Flash Player Installer:
Error has been encountered. Close this window and try downloading again.
What in heck does that error message mean?
This message occurs most of the time when I try to update to the latest version of Adobe Flash Player.
It would be one thing if it was only occurring on Windows XP, but it shows up on Windows 7, Windows 8.0, and Windows 8.1 frequently.
Just for curiousity looked at the Windows 8.1 Event Viewer and NO error message shows up there.
    Would be nice to:
    (1) know what the error really is so that it can be reported to you to get it fixed once and for all.
    (2) have Adobe Flash Installer NOT to delete itself every time that the installer is run.
    (3) have an OFFLINE download installer to download and install Adobe Flash Player without the MacAfee installer.
    (4) have Adobe UNCHECK that the Install MacAfee installer that you have to opt out of each time you do an Adobe Flash Player download. You should make it to OPT IN not OPT OUT! Don't need another program installed without my permission. This causes issues when I have to uninstall MacAfee on computers that others in my family use.
It seems to takes up to 20 times to download the Adobe installer over a period of many days or weeks to get it to install properly.
I have written software for over 36 years as a computer programmer and now Senior Software Developer. I have do installers on my own and have to figure out how to solve my own issues on the installers to get them fixed.
This issue doesn't seem to be tied to any particular version of Windows... Same issue occurs on Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8.0, and Windows 8.1! The ONLY commonality seems to be Adobe Flash Player.
Certainly Adobe should be smart enough to fix this issue once and for all.
If the issue is that there is a network congestion error that it cannot download the installer, please say so and please please please DO NOT delete the downloaded installer every time that it is run on a PC.
I'd like to fix the security issues with the Adobe Flash Player AS SOON as there is a patch for it. I don't like having security issues over a long period of time.
Please address this issue so that I can put this to bed and not have to keep sending you messages that once again the Adobe Flash Player Installer is yet again broken!
Certainly you have a staff at Adobe that CAN fix this problem quickly!

more information about errors can be found in the FlashInstall.log file in C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash (and the SysWOW64 equivalent on 64-bit systems)
the offline installers (below) do not delete themselves
you can find the offline installers
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
the offline installers are not bundled with any 3rd-party crapware

This means that your scanner software or driver is not correctly installed.

I am purchasing this program for my son who attends George Washington High School: The College Academy in New York, New York. He is a sophomore and is interested in web design. I would like to know if he is eligible to use/activate the Creative Suite 6 Master Collection for Mac and Windows (Single User Educational License) FOR STUDENTS & EDUCATORS ONLY prior to my purchase.

Peru Bob makes a good point.  I just assumed the OP understood what the System requirements | Adobe Creative Suite 6 were.

  • Adobe Acrobat 5.0 and Windows 7 Problem

How do I get Adobe Acrobat 5.0 and Windows 7 compatible so I can access my attachments to e-mails sent to me?

I was successful in installing AA5 in Win7 Starter as a test. It works except that I changed the printer port to file (AcroTray or the Distiller Assistant of AA5 does not work in Win7). You can open the files that are created in Distiller to create PDFs. You may be able to use watched folders to automate the process to some degree.
I suspect that your question is more of having problems reading PDF files in AA5. That is a different issue. It is not a Win7 compatibility issue, but one of needing a newer PDF viewer. I have AA5 on one XP machine that I use Reader X on for seeing the newer files. I do have to deal with some conflicts between AA5 and ARX, but I can deal with that (many folks lose there minds on that).
There is one other option that might be a major problem. Many folks are getting Win7 on 64-bit machines. In that case, you will have to be sure AA5 runs in 32-bit compatibility.
At least that should give you some ideas of what might work. If a 64-bit machine, you may definitely have a problem -- I never tested that combination.

  • Adobe Reader X 10.1 Install Failing on XP SP3 and Windows 7 (64 bit)

After using the Customization Wizard 10 to create an .mst and executing the install via SCCM 2007 which I have done many times before, I am getting the following error on both the XP SP3 and Windows 7 (64 bit) machines in the Application Event Log:
    Product: Adobe Reader X (10.1.0) -- Error 2229.Database: . Could not load table 'ServiceInstall' in SQL query: SELECT `Name`,`DisplayName`,`ServiceType`,`StartType`,`ErrorControl`,`LoadOrderGroup`,`Dependenc ies`,`StartName`,`Password`,`ComponentId`,`Directory_`,`FileName`,`Arguments`,`Description ` FROM `ServiceInstall`, `Component`, `File` WHERE `ServiceInstall`.`Component_` = `Component`.`Component` AND (`Component`.`KeyPath` = `File`.`File`) AND (`Action` = 1 OR `Action` = 2).
I used the following .msi to create the.mst:
    AdbeRdr1010_en_US.msi
Does anyone know where to go from here?
    Thanks, Sandy

I have found another possible bug affecting network printing with 10.1.2 in Protected Mode on XP SP3 machines that has not been previously documented:
A number of users in one office were not able to print with 10.1.2 in Protected Mode (even with the printing hotfix/patch previously released) to their default printer; however they were able to print fine with 10.0.1 in Protected Mode OR by disabling Protected Mode in 10.1.2.  They could print to Microsoft XPS Document Writer, however.
The cause was determined to be an issue with capitilization of the printer name in the registry!  10.1.2 in Protected Mode seems to be sensitive to this for some strange reason, though other apps don't care.
Check the following keys and ensure the capitalization of any references to name of your printer (or UNC path of the printer share) is consistent:
    HKCU\Printers\Connections
    HKCU\Printers\Settings
    HKCU\software\microsoft\windows nt\currentversion\windows\Device
In our case, the reference to the name of the default printer was in lowercase, while the printer path recorded under settings was in UPPERCASE.   Changing this to match immediately fixed the problem.

  • I am unable to send pictures from Adobe elements 6 via e-mail anymore. Using windows 7 and Windows L

Old PC died. Bought new PC, installed my Adobe Elements 6 but now I am unable to send photos by email from Adobe Elements 6 via email anymore. Using win7 and Windows Live email. I have tried uninstalling the program and re-installing. Please help.

No, what happens when I try to send a photo as an email attachment is, after checking the recipient and then selecting “next” the next window says put in the code that was sent to you to verify that you are the person sending the photo.  (no code was received after installing it). Apparently I need to do whatever triggers sending the code to me. Uninstalling and reinstalling Elements did not result in my receiving any email with the code (and I checked the spam filter). Can you help?

Do you have the purchased serial number? What computer operating system?
If you purchased from Adobe direct, you can get download installation files from "My Orders" at the Adobe web site under your Adobe ID and Password (http://www.adobe.com).
Alternatively, you can use the following Adobe document with links to the downloads....
    Other downloads
Also, from the following web site as a tryout into which you insert your purchased serial number during installation
Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 Direct Download Links, Premiere too | ProDesignTools
To avoid Access Denied message, follow carefully the web site's "Note: Very Important Instructions".
Just in case note...make sure installation files are for your computer operating system 32 vs 64 bit. Two files (.exe and .7z)
Any questions or need clarification, please do not hesitate to ask.
Please let us know the outcome as your schedule permits.
