Hello
In my company we are required to work with a different PDF reader/editor, in order to integrate a certain digital signature.
We also work with a CRM that uses Internet Explorer's Adobe Reader plugin to display PDF files, such as invoices, letter, etc.
The required PDF reader is set to be the default reader in Windows 8.1. When a user uses the CRM, and the program calss the IE Adobe Add-In, the default reader is changed for the entire system.
Help needed, thank you.
Thomas
Hi GLT,
in Firefox open Preferences and select "Helper
applications". There you should be able to define
Acrobat as default application.
Thanks. Unfortunately, there are options for .MP3, .PNG, et al, but not for .PDF. Nor can that be added as there is no field to do so.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!

How to disable pop up Make Adobe Reader my default PDF Application in registry
Hi
I am wondering if there is a registry setting that can disable the pop-up Make Adobe Reader my default PDF Application ?
I have seen there is a setting under Edit\Preferences\General\"Tell me if Adobe Reader is not my default PDF Application" but cannot find a registry setting to disable this. This message pops up for some users in a remote desktop session host environment even though I have disabled the messages on the session hosts.
Thanks,
AndrewHi Andrew_Dell,
Thank You for posting on the forums. Kindly try the below mentioned steps and check ,if it helps.
1) launch adobe Reader
2) Click on Edit>Preferences
3)Go to General under Categories
4) Click on "Select Default Pdf Handler"
5) Choose adobe Reader
After performing this workflow, you might see an installation window. do not worry, it is just a new configuration of PDF handler being updated in the system.
Thanks,

Macbook Mac OS X (10.4.9) iPod 30Gb colorClick once on a pdf document and do a Get-Info (command-I). In the resulting box you can choose what program you want to open the document with and with what program you wish to select to open all similar documents. Mac 101.

Making Adobe as the default PDf reader
How can I make Adobe as a default pdf reader for windows phone 8?
Where does the Adobe reader store local files in wp8? Can I know its path in windows phone 8?Maybe starting Acrobat 9 (NOT Distiller 9: this is an extra component
of Acrobat, and not involved in opening PDFs) will help. But overall,
mixing releases and Acrobat/Reader on the same computer isn't
recommended for this sort of reason.

When using the Save Layer Comps to PDF Script, can you change the PDF settings. I need both Smallest File Size and Press Quality? Thanks in advance to the group for assisting with this matter.
— JohnNo, there isn't. The way you're using the file is not recommended. You
should use a review tracker to avoid getting in the way of one another. -
To change "Default Report Settings"
Hello All,
In the interactive report, I am wondering to change “Default Report Settings”.
Thanks in advance,
EB NYMake sure you're logged into the builder as a developer, pick the columns you want, filters, ordering...etc. When you are done, click Save Report - developers have the option of saving default report settings.
Again you will only see this option if you are logged into the builder. -
Set Adobe Professional as Default PDF Viewer
Is there a way to set Adobe Professional as my default pdf viewer instead of my Adobe Reader? I know there was a setting somewhere that I changed to accomplish this before, but I can't find it again.
No need to uninstall. The setting you're talking about is under Edit -
Preferences - General, if I'm not mistaken. -
I downloaded a trial of Adobe Acrobat...didn't buy it. Have Adobe Reader, but the default is now Adobe Acrobat. How do I change it so I can download to/with Adobe Reader?
In either app, choose Edit > Preferences > General > Select default PDF handler.

Adobe Update changed default printer.
The latest Adobe update made the pdf printer the default and it won't let me change it back to my network printer. How do I fix this?
I have gone to Printers and Devices (My OS is Win 8.1) and tried to uncheck that default, and it won't let it happen. I right-clicked on my HP Network printer and there is no option anymore to make it default like it was.

You can rename (or delete) the mimeTypes.rdf file in the Firefox profile folder to reset all file actions.

I need to change the default PDF viewer on a large number of computers
from Acrobat Professional to Reader. When I say "change the default," I
don't just mean the file association; I mean every default, including
browser plug-ins.
When you install Acrobat or Reader on a computer on which the other has
already been installed, you get a prompt as to whether you want Acrobat
or Reader to be the default PDF viewer. I want to get at that
functionality, preferably by script. So far as I have been able to
discover, the ONLY way to get at that function is by uninstalling one of
the programs and reinstalling it.
Is there a deployable way to do this? I prefer scripting methods, but
manual remote changes are good too.

I have no choice. This is what I've got to work with. And our Acrobat
software is controlled by a KeyServer, which is why I need Reader to be
the default (so as not to use up licenses for mere viewing of PDFs).
In any case, the two programs do know how to set a default between
themselves when you install the second one, so that functionality must
exist somewhere, supported or not.

Changing default printer settings in SAP Portal
Hi,
When i am trying to print the report in SAP Portal, the default page setting is A3 , i need to change it to 8.5 * 11 inches.
Is it possible??
Thanks
JancHi,
You can change the Page Settings in your Internet Explorer.
File --> Page Setup.
Try doing this.
Are you on BI 3.5 or 7.0?
Also, you are using the Query Designer or WAD ?
In WAD7.0 you can Export the Template with the Query and set the size as A4 or 8.5 x 11 inches.
While viewing the Query designer output also, you select the size. Default is A4. -
Changing default cursor settings
Hi,
I need to change the default cursor settings on an xy graph. Currently the cursor positions itself at the beginning of each data set. See attached. You should be able to see the cursor displayed in bright yellow. How do I change the default conditions for displaying the cursor at the beginning of each data set from say: 04:19:38 PM, 09/28/12, (as in the attached example) to say: 04:19:38 PM, 09/28/11. I just changed the two digit year - to keep it simple! Thank you. John

Capture.PNG 25 KBHi John,
It sounds like you may not have your VI updating to show changes to controls when they are changed. I would recommend using an event structure in a while loop to poll for changes to the cursor and update them on the graph. I attached an example I wrote (opens in LabVIEW 2010 and more recent) to show you what I am talking about.
It is hard for me to understand what you are talking about with the small snippets of your code I am seeing. If you have further questions, please post an entire VI (or a smaller example VI that reproduces the issue) so it will be easier to help you.
