Adobe Application Manager failure to upgrade Photoshop CS6 64bit
I'm told there's an update for photshop to Photoshop 13.1.2 for Creative Cloud. When I tried to get, the bar shows 97% download and then it freezes there. I've left overnight, removed photoshop from PC and tried again, tried multiple times and still can't get beyond 97% download. Any suggestions?? All my other software in the cloud upgrades correctly.
Once the update failed I could no longer launch Photoshop CS6. I got a dialogue box that popped up saying "Adobe Photoshop CS6 has stopped working." I tried a number of things, including trying to reinstall Photoshop CS6. Maybe I did something wrong but I couldn't get any joy. Luckily, I had a recent Drive image which I restored and got my lovey Photoshop back again.
I then did as jbierrie suggested and attempted to update from within Photoshop itself. Unfortunately, the same horrible result. Have just restored my drive again and will not try to install update 13.1.2 until I know that the problem has been addressed and fixed by Adobe.
I would love to know if other users are able to install the update without any of these issues.

I can't find Photoshop CS6 Extended on the adobe download manager, only the ordinary photoshop cs6.
When i admit the trial download link of Photoshop CS6 extended on the website i'm reverted to the adobe download manager which doesn't have the extended version, only tghe normal one.
And how about x64 versions? does the normal installation pack includes both platforms?All trials of PS are the Extended version. Only when you buy the product will the serial number determine Standard or Extended. Yes, it contains both 64bit and 32bit versions.

CS6 Creative Cloud Adobe Application Manager Failure
This was previously asked by another customer, however I believe the discussion was prematurely closed (marked as "answered") without being fully answered for all situations.
Please add my name to the list of people having problems with the new Creative Cloud installer (AdobeApplicationManager). To be clear on the symptoms:
1. Download the AdobeApplicationManager.dmg as prompted by Adobe.
2. Open the DMG
3. Run the AdobeApplicationManager. I have tried this both from within the DMG and from a copy I dragged to the desktop.
4. The dialog box "Initializing Installer" appears. There is not a prompt for granting disk access. Only the progress bar and the quit button.
5. Let it run for an hour -- nothing happens, except a file is created: ~/Library/Logs/AdobeDownload/LBS.log
6. The quit button does not work.
7. To stop the installer, I have to use Force Quit.

I attempted to re-download the DMG -- the Adobe site will not allow this. I think you are going to have to construct a clean up script to allow customers to revert their machines to the state before using the new AdobeApplicationManager. Then you will have to revisit the ApplicationManagerCode, because it is clearly incompatible with some Mac OS X Lion configurations.
Clicking on an application icon in the Creative Cloud applications page will issue an URL of the form "asm://..." however there is no such helper application, and hence nothing happens.

What is wrong with Adobe Application Manager?
I didn't know where to post this since I'm unsure what category this belongs in. I noticed yesterday the Adobe Application Manager removed my purchased Photoshop CS6 from the list and added Adobe Acrobat XI which I recently purchased only the latter is showing up as "Try" instead of "Up to date".
Also items that were showing as up to date were not. I ran the update within Photoshop and it found a few items that needed updating. See the attached image.Separately purchased apps do not necessarily show up as up to date in AAM if they are not part of a subscription/ CC. They may once they have been updated through AAM. It's a bit messy. For your Photoshop to reappear in the list you would have to run the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool and let AAM reinstall, but since it seems to work for now, I wouldn't worry.

Photoshop and Illustrator updates fail using Adobe Application Manager, why and what can I do?
In the Adobe Application Manager, it says there are updates for both Photoshop and Illustrator. When I click to update, they both downloaded and attempted to install and in the middle of this process, Application Manager shows that the updates fail. After this, upon restart of my Mac–running Lion–Illustrator shows that it's up to date in the Application Manager and Photoshop shows an update is available. Upon trying to re-update Photoshop again, the update fails again and again.
I have updated before a few days ago with no problem, so I don't understand why the updates are failing and why after doing so, now Illustrator shows that it is up to date and Photoshop does not.
Has anyone else had this problem and if so, does anyone know why and what I can do about it?

I want to download whatever updates I need for Photoshop CS5. I am using Adobe Application Manager and there are updates but they arnt going through. It has been awhile since I tried. Dont remember when the last time was. But my Mac Book Pro is in good shape and I am finally getting around to this. didnt expect it not to work. Help?

LR6 upgrade serial number not accepted by Adobe Applications Manager
I bought and downloaded LR 6 (upgrade). When I entered my new serial number in the Adobe Applications Manager, Serial Number upgrade, there is not an option for LR6, only LR 1-5. It says the qualifying application LR6 cannot be found. How can I register my serial number to my new LR6?
Lightroom 6 is not associated with the application manager. The application manager is for use with the creative cloud and with Lightroom CC. So what is it that you really purchased? And where did you download it from?

No LR5 in Adobe Application Manager 7.0
I cannot get LR 5 to show in Adobe Application Manager, even after upgrading the installer to version 7.0 (latest version linked to from the FAQ's). I'm running on an iMac. Anyone know how I can get it to show?
I have LR4 already installed but I purchased that before my Creative Cloud subscription and so this is the first time I've tried to install LR under CC.It's not even appearing in the list of products at all. I took out my CC subscription at the start when LR was not yet included. At that time I had a separately purchased version of LR4 installed.
Do you think it might have something to do with that?

I am running Lightroom 6 in conjunction with 64 bit Photoshop CS6. I need to install Camera Raw 9 plus other relevan updates for the Adobe Design and Web Premium CS6 package. Running Adobe Application manager finds the relevant updates but won't download / install them. Clicking the update button results in an error message "Application Manager has stopped working". This is a windows system running 64 bit Windows 7

Failed installation: How to rerun Adobe Application Manager updates for Photoshop CS6
Hi.
The installation of Adobe Extension Manager CS6 failed - while 2 others update for Photoshop CS6 did intall. I was installing Adobe Reader X .
That's why I discovered the notication from the application manager about updates for CS6 - and I just confirmed that as well.
Apparently the Reader installation blocked only the update installation of Adobe Extension Manager CS6 - saying another installation process was running ... such stuff happens sometimes.
However, it seems Adobes Application Manager update module does not track its failed installations? It does not automatically advertise that update has not been installed and notifiying me again to install it. At least not immediately ...
So how do I rerun the Adobe Application Manager update moduel to check for updates manually?You go Photoshop CS6 > Help > Updates ...

Just re-installed a fresh copy of CS6 Photoshop on my Yosemite Mac Book Pro and somehow the Adobe Application Manager does not work and therefore cannot verify my copy. What should I do?
I get a message saying that Adobe Application Manager may be damaged and that I should install a new version of AAM. But after downloading a fresh copy of AAM and doing the install, the program (AAM) still will not install. It is like an infinite loop!
Please, someone help!

I'm sorry but I am not on Creative Cloud. I'm still on CS6 and it was the Adobe Application Manager that wasn't working and I could not install the update to this application. My AAM version is: 8.0.0160
The link you provided was the update that I wanted to install but it does not work. A window shows up during that install that says:
We've encountered the following issues.
Installer failed to initialize. Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem.
and then the link to the Adobe Support Advisor which leads to a "Adobe Support Advisor has been discontinued" page.

Photoshop CS6 - Problem - Do I need Adobe Application Manager?
I just installed Photoshop CS6 - a fresh, new install, i.e. no previous CS version installed.
Accidentally I clicked on Adobe Application Manager in Start and got the below.
Right now, I only have a clean desktop - no taskbar and need to use the taskmgr (ctrl-alt-del) to bring up my webbrowser or any other program that was and is still running.
Luckely I made a Windows image just before installing CS6 so I will restore that image and will start all over.
Now, I donot need creative cloud, also I don't know what this 'Application Manager' is being used for.
Question: how to avoid similar issues? Is this application manager necessary?
Thanks!The application manager provides activation and online features, so no, unisntalling is not an option or else your Adobe software would go defunct.
