Adobe Application Manager Windows desktop icon

I need to configure Adobe Application Manager to stop ceating a desktop icon on "all users" desktop when AAM updates itself.

The installation is done on each computer with multiple users which do
not have rights nor user and password to AAM.
I have deleted the icon but every time AMM updates itself the icon
reappears for all users and I end up with multiple icons on the
administrator desktop.
Thanks for the reply David.
By the way I have many issues with the newest Acrobat and editing pdf files.
We are a printing company and often have to fix color issues in pdf
files that customers send us.
Where would I go to discuss the issues?
again Thanks.

This is when I go to help>update from Photoshop.
I have tried the disable mini port option and checked the firewall settings.
    What next ?
    Thanks!

I'm having the same issue and can't get any updates. Finally had to manually download the updates.

  • Cannot Install Creative cloud OR Adobe Application Manager on brand new install of Windows 7 64bit

Here is where I've been today...
I started out this process formatting my C drive (a 120gb SSD),
then I reinstalled windows 7 64bit  from scratch
then I ran ALL of the updates "Windows Update" suggessted
    then I installed google chrome
then I logged into creative cloud and whent to the download center and I think I clicked on like Adobe Acrobat XI pro or I might have clicked on the actual "Creative Cloud" download
then I opened the installer and it got to about here:
And then it popped up with this "Sorry, there seems to be a problem with the download process (Error code: A12E5). For troubleshooting tips, please visit our customer support page.":
Then I I tried what I thought was the next best second option.... I downloaded the Adobe Application Manager ("ApplicationManager7.0_all"). After the successful download of said installer
Then I ran the installer and told it to unpack it's gear on my desktop. It sort of did, but before it was done it gave me this error: "a problem occurred while extracting some files. check available space on your computer and write privileges on destination folder":
Then I tried to run the akward result of the "failed" extraction (see pic below):
Which just so happened to have a healthy looking setup file in it:
So naturally I ran the setup file and got this error "we've encountered the following issues installer failed to initialize. please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem" which gave me two options "Get Support Advisor" or "quit":
Guess what I did next... I clicked "Get Support advisor"
Downloaded the windows version... install seemed to go alright and then after this I ran the software package and sure enough I found out that the system is doing great no errors were found!~ Sweet! "inspection could not identify any issues. Please contact Adobe Support for further Assistance." and as it sugessted Iwent over to http://www.adobe.com/support/ and poked around for quite a while and gave up
A diffrent thread (http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/a12e1-error-downloading-creative-cloud.html) seemed to suggest that it was the downloading of the installer that was causing the issue. So I tried downloading the installer from every possible source that I can find... Mozilla, Chrome, Internet Explorer "IE" 11, I searched despratly for a way to turn off the "Download manager" and all of this has been to no avail!
I tried a few other things which I cannot recall (I think one of them was downloading it through mozilla which had a little more promise.) and I think I also tried what was suggested in this thread: "http://forums.adobe.com/message/5386547"
Here is a quote from that thread:

    Report
Hi Shawn, Are you on MAC or Win ?
    Try this :
Rename OOBE folder to OOBE_old located :
    Win 7 64 bit  : C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\
    Win 7 32 bit : C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe
    MAC:  Macintosh HD/Library/Applciation support/Adobe/
Delete opm.db file located at :
    Win  7 :C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Adobe\OOBE
    MAC : ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe
Then try to install AAM again, it should install without any issues.
This process was what I THINK what produced the "Adobe Application Manager" Icon on my desktop!
    which I then clicked hopefully!
It then began to update "OH BOY!!!"
Then I was greated with the still stark reality that I was wrong to have silly hopes... and it coldly told my boyish heart "We encountered the following issues: Sorry, there seems to be a problem with the download process (Error Code: A12E5). For troubleshooting tips, please visit our customer support page."
I've tried just about everything I know how to try... I need this software up an running or my job is on the line YIKES!
Please help! God bless you for doing so!

    >a 120gb SSD
Your 1st message also said "check available space"
I don't use SSD drives, but my C drive has Win7 64bit Pro + CS5 Master Collection + MS Office Pro + "misc" small programs and files + all my MS Office documents in My Documents folder... and I use 71Gig
Your 120Gig SSD should be plenty large... EXCEPT... I have NO IDEA how much space is used for temporary files during download + install
Otherwise, you may need to contact Adobe chat... Next link has a "Chat Now" button near the bottom

  • How do I open the updates window in "Adobe Application Manager"?

How do I open the updates window in "Adobe Application Manager"? Or can I or should I....??
I am a brand new Cloud member.  I heard of the Retina update.  Assuming this was where the updates would logically appear I went to the "Adobe Application Manager" app first.  Without closing the "Adobe Application Manager" I opened Photoshop and went to the help menu and selected "Updates..."; a second window opened in the already open "Adobe Application Manager".
    I selected update all.
    The result is below:

Now, I closed the "Adobe Application Manager" and opened "Photoshop" again and again selected "Updates..." from the help menu.  The "Adobe Application Manager" opened again with just one window this time and the updates happened correctly.
I was hoping one of the updates would be to the "Adobe Application Manager", I don't think so.
So, If I were you I wouldn't select "Updates..." from an Adobe app unless the "Adobe Application Manager" is closed until they fix it...
Current version: Adobe® Application Manager - Version 7.0.0.128 (7.0.0.128) Note the Two windows in the "Adobe Application Manager" in the attached image.

The updates are currently available by going to Help>Updates within the Application.  Once you invoke the Updater, which is a component of the Adobe Application Manager, it will locate and apply the updates.  It looks like most of your updates have failed to install.  I would recommend you begin by trying to apply the updates that are available on our product update page at http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/ and seeing if you face the same difficulty.
If you continue to experience problems with applying the updates then please review your installation log to determine the cause of the failure.  You can find details on how to locate and interpret the installation log at Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5-cs5.html.

  • Trying to install Acrobat on a Vista laptop, but can't find the installation icon in the Adobe Application Manager

Hi, trying to get Acrobat installed on my Vista laptop but can't seem to find an icon for it in the Adobe Application manager.  I have a CC license and it installs fine on my Win7 but can't seem to figure out how to install it on my Vista laptop.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

Normally if something does not appear in the download options it means the machine does not meet the tech specs for the product.  In this case, Vista is not in the tech specs for Acrobat Pro XI if that is what you are trying to install.  For whatever reason it skips from XP to Windows 7.

  • Adobe Application Manager CS5 downloads but does not install Spanish update on Windows 8.1 64 bit Spanish

I have a multi license for Adobe Creative Suite Design Premium CS5 in Spanish. I installed it correctly in Windows 8.1 Spanish 64 bit. Photoshop 32 and 64 bit start, same with Illustrator with some fix. Yet when I look for updates, 10 are found by Adobe Application Manager, but for a few days I get a message (in Spanish) that "there was an error while downloading, try again later". I do it for some days already without success. I have the same Spanish suite installed on Windows 7 64 bit (English) for some good time (2 years probably), and there the now no updates.
The PDapp.exe file is from the year 2010. Is it not too old as for Adobe?

  • Windows 8: Unable to install Adobe Application Manager or Download any Creative Cloud Aoos

I just got my creative cloud subscription, and when the Apps page launched, I was not able to install the Adobe Application Manager.  Windows 8 pops up a Launch Application window and it wants me to find the appropriate application to open the Adobe Creative Cloud Client with.
I am doing this in Firefox.  I have added creative.adobe.com to my trusted sites and it still does not work.  What do I have to do to all using in Firefox?  What about Chrome?

  • Adobe Application Manager Won't Open and CC Desktop failed to install

I am running Win 7 Ultimate. Adobe Application Manager Won't Open and CC Desktop failed to install on my computer after I signed up for Adobe CC tonight. I am currently using the CS5 suite (perpetual license) and do not want to uninstall any of the programs until I am successfully running the Adobe CC versions. The AAM gives me an error message saying that it failed to open when I select it, and the creative cloud installer fails to install. I have tried restarting my computer. Help? This is very frustrating. I am a student and use this software on a daily basis, and can't afford to not have these programs available when I need them.

  • Creative Cloud Desktop frozen/spinning wheel after updated version April 22,2015; Adobe Application Manager won't sign in either - Mac OSX Yosemite 10.10.3

I cannot update any apps via Creative Cloud Desktop Application just prior to nor after the April 2015 updated.
I've tried everything listed in support forums, including:
    uninstallation
removal of the AAMUpdater and OOBE folders in both the user and system libraries
use of the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool
enabling the root user and cleaning everything out there and reinstallation from the root account
and reinstallation of both the Application Manager as well as Creative Cloud Desktop...multiple times.
I've also tried out the instructions to uninstall Java and reinstall the latest version of Java.  I have looked through every iteration of these issues on several support forums, and tried everything that has supposedly "worked" to get Creative Cloud Desktop back up and running.
I am on Mac OSX Yosemite 10.10.3.
I also can't sign in via the Application Manager, with message that I am not connected to the internet.  I can launch the versions of Photoshop CC 2014, Illustrator CC 2014, Lightroom 5, etc., but when I try to sign in to any of those applications, the Adobe Application Manager launches, asking for a sign in, and then won't connect...no matter what.  I have tried doing this from the root account with the firewall temporarily disabled as well.  I do not have internet connection problems whatsoever, and all other applications, browsers, etc., can reach all aspects of the internet just fine.
The most peculiar thing: I have another Creative Cloud installation on my MacBook Pro with the same version of Yosemite, and everything is loading and working just fine, with all the latest updates.  Duplicate installation for my laptop, and yet my iMac with the same installation won't work at all.

    Thanks for the suggestion.
I've attempted to repair permissions the usual way, as well as through a complete cleanup via Onyx.  Still no dice.
Creative Cloud Desktop was working previously, for quite a few months (with the occasional "can't connect" and inability to load the App Update panel, which seems to plague the software constantly anyway...but at least it worked intermittently) well after I installed Yosemite.
This is a more recent issue...just a few days ago...before installing the update, as well as after.

  • Adobe Application Manager creating problems:  Subscriber, running windows vista

    Hi
I want to install the new creative suite (v6). went to download site for apps, and tried installing the application manager.  It just stalled towards the end.  Had to force quit. Restarted my computer, clicked on the exe file for application  manager, nothing happened.  Went back to download page and tried downloading PS CS6, and i kept getting errors that the Adobe App Manager has stopped working.  What do I need to do?

    Hi Chomsky,
Note that Vista doesn't meet the minimum system requirements to use Creative Cloud here
    http://www.adobe.com/au/products/creativecloud/tech-specs.html
It might still be possible to use on Vista but it hasn't really been tested so you have limited options if you run into difficulties.
You might try installing Adobe Application Manager again from here

  • Windows 8 64-bit + Adobe Application Manager

I updated my computer to Windows 8 last night/this morning and erased all of my apps. Everytime I try to start the Adobe Application Manager, I get "Download error. Press retry to try again or contact customer support. (403)"
Is this a common error with an awesome fix?

I can get online and do everything I was doing yesterday in regards to being on the Internet, so I don't think that's the problem.
I am currently getting around this little issue by installing each product (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, etc) individually, with Adobe's Download Assistant. Photoshop finished and was working perfectly (aside from video driver problems, but that's Win8, not Adobe). I will update again when everything's finished and I perform a restart.

I'm sorry to report that I've not yet  figured out how to go about this 'Cleaning'. I've run the cleaner on the Applications Manager, then attempted to reinstall the downloaded Applications Manager and again I get the same message as above. I attempted to trash the Applications Folder and rerun the installer. That did not work. I then moved the downloaded Applications folder to the utilities folder and restarted CS5>Updates. It reports, again it can't find/or is damaged Applications Manager. I will now take the folder out of the trash and return it to the Utilities folder.
If I run the Recovery tool on Photoshop will I uninstall Photoshop or will it only 'clean' it. Does it mean I will lose any third party plugins?
I do thank you for your continued support. This is the first time a requested answer/suggestion to my troubles has been promptly be addressed by 'Adobe'. I am also pleased I can reply to an email to aid in resolving questions.
