Adobe Application Manager won't launch

Running Mac OSX Lion on Macbook Pro with Adobe Creative Cloud. When  I try to launch Acrobat Pro, Application Manager tries to launch, but no options come up. Happens every time I try to launch Acrobat, so Acrobat won't work. Suggestions? I noticed there is no uninstall for Application Manager. Can I just trash it and try to reinstall?

Hi Dave,
Has Acrobat X ever worked? I wouid try running the uninstaller for Acrobat from  Applications > Utilities > Adobe Installers if avaiable, rebooting, and then launching the Adobe Application Manager first from within Applications and then reinstalling Acrobat.

I just subscribed to Adobe Cloud CC , but my download won't work because Adobe application Manager won't launch.
    Any suggestions ?

The Adobe Application Manager is normally started from Photoshop menu Help>Updates.  Is this what you referring  to or are you referring to the Creative Cloud desktop application?

  • Adobe Application Manager Won't Open and CC Desktop failed to install

I am running Win 7 Ultimate. Adobe Application Manager Won't Open and CC Desktop failed to install on my computer after I signed up for Adobe CC tonight. I am currently using the CS5 suite (perpetual license) and do not want to uninstall any of the programs until I am successfully running the Adobe CC versions. The AAM gives me an error message saying that it failed to open when I select it, and the creative cloud installer fails to install. I have tried restarting my computer. Help? This is very frustrating. I am a student and use this software on a daily basis, and can't afford to not have these programs available when I need them.

  • My Adobe application manager won't load to allow updates

  • Creative Cloud Desktop frozen/spinning wheel after updated version April 22,2015; Adobe Application Manager won't sign in either - Mac OSX Yosemite 10.10.3

I cannot update any apps via Creative Cloud Desktop Application just prior to nor after the April 2015 updated.
I've tried everything listed in support forums, including:
    uninstallation
removal of the AAMUpdater and OOBE folders in both the user and system libraries
use of the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool
enabling the root user and cleaning everything out there and reinstallation from the root account
and reinstallation of both the Application Manager as well as Creative Cloud Desktop...multiple times.
I've also tried out the instructions to uninstall Java and reinstall the latest version of Java.  I have looked through every iteration of these issues on several support forums, and tried everything that has supposedly "worked" to get Creative Cloud Desktop back up and running.
I am on Mac OSX Yosemite 10.10.3.
I also can't sign in via the Application Manager, with message that I am not connected to the internet.  I can launch the versions of Photoshop CC 2014, Illustrator CC 2014, Lightroom 5, etc., but when I try to sign in to any of those applications, the Adobe Application Manager launches, asking for a sign in, and then won't connect...no matter what.  I have tried doing this from the root account with the firewall temporarily disabled as well.  I do not have internet connection problems whatsoever, and all other applications, browsers, etc., can reach all aspects of the internet just fine.
The most peculiar thing: I have another Creative Cloud installation on my MacBook Pro with the same version of Yosemite, and everything is loading and working just fine, with all the latest updates.  Duplicate installation for my laptop, and yet my iMac with the same installation won't work at all.

    Thanks for the suggestion.
I've attempted to repair permissions the usual way, as well as through a complete cleanup via Onyx.  Still no dice.
Creative Cloud Desktop was working previously, for quite a few months (with the occasional "can't connect" and inability to load the App Update panel, which seems to plague the software constantly anyway...but at least it worked intermittently) well after I installed Yosemite.
This is a more recent issue...just a few days ago...before installing the update, as well as after.

  • Adobe app manager won't launch

    Hi there,
I'm trying to download additional software from the creative cloud.  When the adobe site launchers the app manager on my mac, two red icons bounce - as if loading - then disappear.
How to do i get the app manager to launch correctly, or is there another way i can download the software.
    thanks

Install the latest version of Adobe Application Manager 6.2 from the below link and try downloading the applications.
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4774
In case of same issue, Go To adobe.com and Download the trial version of the software you are attempting to install. Once installed, sign in using the Adobe ID assigned to your Creative Cloud Membership.

  • Adobe Application Manager won't install anything!

I've been trying to update Photoshop CS5 to 12.0.4, and the Adobe Application Manager (AAM) keeps asking me for my system admin password.  Everytime I enter it, the window pops up again.  I could enter my password a dozen times, it won't begin any updates or installations.
    I have tried:
    shutdown and restart
    changing my admin password
installing non-Adobe software (to see if it was an OS X problem)
uninstalling all my Adobe software (same problem as trying to install)
I'd really like to be able to update my software.  Anybody know what to do?
    -Sean
iMac 2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    OS X 10.7.3

Thanks Jeff!  That worked like a charm.  I've never enabled a root user, but now that I know that exists, I'll keep that in mind if I have any other installation issues (Adobe or otherwise).
A question remains - why is AAM being stubborn with my admin password?  If anyone knows, that'd be great, otherwise, I consider this answered.

  • Adobe application manager won't even lunch.

Which Adobe product or service are you trying to use in conjunction with the Adobe Application Manager?  What version of the Adobe Application Manager do you currently have installed?

  • Adobe Application Manager won't update on Win 8.1 - cannot install apps

Since updating this PC to Windows 8.1, the Adobe Application Manager which manages the Creative Cloud apps will not update itself, hence we cannot install or update CC apps (specifically, Acrobat).
On clicking the download button on the Acrobat page of CC, the Adobe Application Manager starts to update itself, then quits with the error:
    We've encountered the following issues:
Adobe Application Manager failed to install.
    [Quit]
Repeated attempts fail.  We urgently need to admin several CC apps so to be forced to use the App Manager causes us substantial business interruption.
    /src Illuminant NYC

    Hi illuminantpartnersnyc ,
Please close all the Adobe application, browsers running at the back and try to install again. If still the same error please follow the mentioned steps:
    1. Please navigate to C/Program Files(X86)/Common Files/Adobe/OOBE and rename to OOBE.old
Please go to C/User/User Name/App date/Local/Adobe/OOBE and rename it to OOBE.old
Log to to CC desktop: https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud and run as admin to install it.
If still the same error then please enable hidden admin: http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/9650-built-administrator-account-enable-disable-windo ws-8-a.html and try to install again from hidden admin account.
Please review the log : http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5-cs5.html if still the error persists.

  • Adobe application manager won't recognize Acrobat Pro XI for Mac

I purchased and downloaded Acrobat Pro XI for Mac.  The installation is successful, but when I attempt to open it the Adobe Application Manager interrupts and says "Serial Number you provided is valid, but a qualifying product could not be found on this computer."  It then says to "To use this serial number, you must own one of these qualifying products. Please choose the one you own an interest serial number."  Except Adobe Acrobat Pro XI is not listed.  I confirmed I purchased Adobe Acrobat XI Pro (Mac,English) and the serial number I have is correct.  Please advise.

This error message comes when you try to activate the upgrade version which requires the previous version to activate.
Please follow the steps to activate the upgrade version product.
    1. Install the porduct and enter the upgrade version serial number
    2. When it asks for the previous version serial number, enter the older version serial number
    3. You would be able to activate
In order to locat the serial numbers please follow the below link:

  • Application Manager won't launch

I am trying to download the apps, but the Application Manager keeps unexpectedly quitting, everytime I try.  I am using a 4 year old Mac laptop OSX is 10.5.8.
    Thanks,

Hi Panic1409, minimum requirements for AAM is 10.6.8
You need to upgrade your MAC.

  • JSAM - Java Secure Application Manager won't Launch

JSAM doesn't wish to launch in Lion, even though it did in 10.6.  The dialog complains the Java for Cocoa Plug-in is not available. I've been looking around for it but can't find it. Any tips? Anyone else see this?

On Snow Leopard you don’t need to downgrade.
Get a copy of Safari 5.0.5 for Snow Leopard from another machine or possibly by Googling it (…I couldn’t find it on the Apple Downloads site, but theoretically it should also be contained in the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo).
Mount the DMG image on your Desktop and use Pacifist to browse the PKG contents: find and extract (say, on your Desktop) Safari.app (edit: you can’t just install the PKG in the normal way even if you trash Safari 5.1 first, at least on 10.6.8).
Via the Terminal rename Safari to, say, "Safari 5.0.5", e.g. (assuming you did extract Safari onto your Desktop):
    $ cd ~/Desktop
    $ sudo mv Safari.app/ Safari\ 5.0.5.app
[enter your admin password to rename the folder].
Now drop your Safari 5.0.5 into your Applications folder. You should now be able to use it alongside Safari 5.1: use Safari 5.0.5 for JSAM and Safari 5.1 (which is better) for everything else.
    Hope this helps.

  • My Adobe Application Manager won't load applications to install.

All that comes up is the loading blue squares and then a "dowload error." I think I might have accidentally ejected something on my Finder but the Creative Cloud Installer is still there under my external harddrive. Does anyone know the problem?

Nancopeland are you on a managed network?  Do you receive any specific error messages?  What version of Mac OS are you using exactly?
