Adobe Audition 3 Errors

Hi
When I started Adobe audition 3 today I encountered an error and on searching forums my problem is the same as described by others. The cut and paste below is from 2008, but same problems
If you have advice
Thankyou
I don't know what caused this, but I attempted to open Audition last night and it didn't happen. I got the odd prompt that the serial number was invalid. (I bought this program many months ago, and it is installed on this and another computer.)
I then attempted to uninstall it so I could then reinstall it, but have been prevented from doing so for some reason. There are two options in the Install Wizard on the disc, Repair and Remove.
When I attempt to repair, it completes the installation successfully. Then I attempt to open the program and get "The serial number is invalid. Please reinstall Adobe Audition." again. I can't!
When I attempt to remove it, the process gets stopped at the same point each time, prompting the following the message:
"The wizard was interrupted before Adobe Audition 3.0 could be completely installed.
Your system has not been modified. To complete installation at another time, please run setup again."
In the Control Panel's "Uninstall or change a program" section, there are two entries for Adobe Audition 3.0
One has the options to Uninstall, Change or Repair and has no listing under the "Publisher" column.
When attempting to perform any one of these options, NOTHING happens.
The other, with "Adobe Systems Incorporated" has only a "Uninstall/Change" option.
Choosing this sole option results exactly the same way as when attempting to perform the uninstall from the disc.
Ugh. What's happening? How can I resolve this, and what might have caused it?

  • Adobe Audition Error

I'm trying to use adobe audition to record my voice and the following message about audio comes up: The audio input is not activiated. Recording audio is not possible. Please check your input configuration. I am confused, could you tell me where I go to check this and what type of input it needs to be. Any help would be great. I also cannot hear music that I put on edit and then on the multitrack functions.

  • Adobe Audition 3.0 (R6025 error on Windows 7)

I'm an Adobe Audition 3.0 user (on Windows 7). Yesterday the multitrack portion of my Audition program completely stopped working. I started getting the "to continue working where you left off, restart Audition" (R6025 errors). I went into the Documents and Settings folder and renamed the 3.0 folder in hopes that action would remove any corrupted files. That didn't work. I then reinstalled the disk in repair mode. Still didn't work. Finally I did the nuclear option of uninstalling Audition and reinstalling. That still won't let me access the multitrack function. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I strongly suggest - in fact this is probably the only thing you can do at this point - that you have a look at the FAQ here, and do exactly what it says.

  • Slow Playback Adobe Audition CS5.5 - not sample rate setting error!

I'm currently using Windows 7 and Adobe Audition CS5.5 build 1815. Soundcard is RME Digi96 Pad. Ok its an old card and the drivers date from 2005. In Adobe 3.1 and CS5.5  I get slow, around half speed, playback at 44k and 96k sample rates. YES the project sample rates and sound card sample rates are set correctly, clock is set to master on the soundcard.
However, in using Cockos Reaper 3 or 4 on exactly the same computer, same soundcard, same OS, I can play 44k and 96k wav files perfectly.
This suggests to me there is an error in the way Adobe Audition 3 / CS5.5 is handling the ASIO drivers in Windows 7 with some soundcards.
If it was a driver problem, or indeed a soundcard hardware issue, then Reaper would not perform properly.
So what's going on with the ASIO drivers in Adobe Audition with Windows 7?

I have two XLR wireless mics, which are great for my video work, but I need to do audio recordings for podcasts and wanted a mic that would be able to do just audio podcasts, as well as video podcasts, live via my laptop. So while I do agree that the audio recording from my XLR mics is great, I am not happy with the audio quality of standard computer mics I've tried and the only way I can get my XLR mics into the computer directly is through a USB connector (which I also have, I'm getting the Yeti set-up for my business partner to use).
Maybe Audition just isn't the best software option for this, but since we have CS6 Premium I had hoped I could utilize software I already had. (And for the live video casts I'm looking at starting out with Google hangouts...)
With that being said, I appreciate your reply and thought I had already set-up the hardware correctly in Windows & Audition. Here is a screenshot that shows the settings I have - my question at this point is whether the master clock needs to be changed (the audio channel mapping tab shows the left and right speaker of the default Realtek speaker):
I just double checked the properties of both the speakers and mic and they are both set to 48,000/16/stereo, as is the audio file in Audition.
I'm a journalist, not an audio pro, and I fully accept that the sound device must not be properly connected. The problem is that I cannot figure out why that is the case.
Since I need to use the USB mic and I want to be able to use the power of Audition to put together podcasts, using other software for the livecasts, I would really like to sort through this. Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

  • Adobe Audition won't start C++ runtime error

Hi, I downloaded and used the trial version fine for the full trial time. Decided to purchase this weekend. It's not a cheap piece of software, so I'm hoping for some decent support here.
I managed to run the full unlocked version a few times without problems. I haven't installed anything else since it last ran. I did notice that it seemed slightly sluggish today.... then when I tried starting it later:-
    Bang!
    "Runtime Error" Program C:\Progra...
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the applicaton's support team for more information"
I tried a complete uninstall, restart, reinstall... same error. I'm not finding anything relevant in this or other support forms. The error message isn't tellin gme too much either.
    Help please!

OK, I worked it out. I just renamed the whole settings directory here:-
    C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Audition\
and it lets me back in... don't what I've lost but at least I'm in phew.
    Thanks for he help... cough.

  • Adobe audition cs 5.5 error message after closing down

I actually get the exact same error upon exiting Audition on my laptop.  It happens every time I close it.  I've noticed there's also another thread on this forum where users are reporting the exact same issue - http://forums.adobe.com/thread/929244

  • Adobe Audition cd and track name error

How do you establish a unique CD name and track names when burning audio to a CD in Adobe Audition CC?  When I drag files with unique names into a track layout and burn audio to a CD, the audio is fine but the CD name and the track names always get labeled with the same data of unknown origin listed below:
Auctions / Harris Real Estate (CD Name)
01 All The Lovers (Fear of Tibers Remix)
02 All The Lovers (Dada Life Remix)
03 ll the Lovers (Dada Life Full Vocal Remix)
04 All the Lovers (Dada Life Dub Remix)
05 All the Lovers (Dada Life Instrumental Remix)
I have attempted to modify properties, metadata, track names, CD Text, etc. to no avail.  If I import the same files into iTunes and burn a CD from that application, all the names are correct.

By the way I am using MAC OS 10.10.2 and Adobe Audition CC Version 6.0.  The erroneous names are showing up in the Finder Window or if I attempt to import the burned CD into iTunes.

  • Adobe Audition has encountered a problem and needs to close.

I have been using Audition 2.0 on this computer for quite some time and suddenly now when I open it, I get the cryptic error dialogue:
"Adobe Audition has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience.  If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost.  For more information about this error, click here."
When I click for more information, it's something useless like:
AppName: audition.exe    AppVer: 2.0.5306.2    ModName: unknown
    ModVer: 0.0.0.0   Offset: 65726168
Nothing on my computer has changed.  There are no viruses.  I have not added any new audio plug-ins.  I am completely up to date with all critical Windows XP SP3 updates and none have been downloaded and installed recently anyway.
I searched the knowledgebase and found a document that suggesting many things to try.  I tried them all, including running the Windows hard disk "check disk" tool with options to fix file system errors and recover bad sectors. I also defragmented the hard drive.  Lastly, I completely uninstalled Audition, then  manually deleted any remaining files, including registry entries as suggested in another knowledgebase article.
I then re-installed Audition 2.0 and it did exactly the same thing!  This it maddening.  Now it gets even more interesting.  I discovered that if I start up the
Adobe ExtendScript Toolkit that Adobe Audition installed also, then try to launch Audition from the toolkit, IT STARTS CORRECTLY!  I can then close the toolkit and use it like normal.  Weird work-around.
What the heck could possibly be going on?  Anyone have any ideas?  I've attached the error log file that is generated by the error but I doubt it will be of much help.
    Thanks!

stevefoobar2: I may have found a solution for you.
I had the same thing happen to me today. I was using Audition 2 this morning without any problems. But this afternoon, it started giving me the exact same error with no apparent reason. Nothing on my system had changed.
So I uninstalled it and installed Audition 3 in its place. Audition 3 continued to have the same problem that Audition 2 had, so we can assume that this is not something that was changed between versions.
But my attention was brought to the fact that you and I are both running Windows XP SP3 fully up-to-date. So I thought I'd try seeing it from the angle of a problem with Windows instead of Audition, and see if I didn't get a better result -
First, I logged on to Windows as Administrator. This may or may not be required, but you'll probably want to do it just in case (you'll see what I mean later). At this point, Audition still crashed the same way when I opened it, so I moved on to my next troubleshooting strategy -
Instead of opening Audition directly, I right-clicked the Audition icon and selected "Run as..." This may seem odd since I was already logged in as Administrator, but it proved to be the solution in my case.
In the "Run As" diolog, there are two main options: run as current user, or run as another user.
Since I was already logged in as Administrator, I could safely select the first option (run as current user). But here's the catch: selecting the first option allowed me to UNcheck the box underneath that says "Protect my computer and data from unauthorized program activity" (see the attached picture)
Audition opened without any problems when I did this.
This makes me think that one of the Windows security features suddenly decided to block something that Audition was trying to do, crashing the program in the process. By turning off this security feature, the problem was solved. And I only had to do it once. Every time afterwards, Audition has opened without any problems when I simply open it from my desktop. Perhaps Windows now remembers not to block Audition in the future.
However, I have not restarted my computer yet, or logged off as Administrator. You may need to tweak this solution if you plan to do either of these things. You may end up having to "Run as" Audition every time you restart your computer or log off. You may even need to select the SECOND option, and run the program as Administrator with the appropriate password.
Anyway, this was the only post I could find on Adobe.com concerning this problem, so I thought I'd post my solution in case it helped someone else.

  • Adobe Audition installation problem

    Hi there,
As soon as i go to start the installation of Adobe Audition i get this error:
Access violation at address 00000000. Read of address 0000000.
Any ideas why this is coming up?
After that it wont let me go ahead with the installation at all!
    in urgent need of help
    cheers guys.

You look like you're running Vista.
You need to make sure of the following:
    a) your installation medium/file is not corrupted
    b) that you're running the install as admin (right click, run as administrator)
    c) you don't have any major problems with the ram in your system.

  • Adobe Audition, Audigy 2 ZS Platinum, can no longer hear guitar :-\

I've recently reformatted my computer, installed the Audigy 2 software, and installed Adobe Audition. Using Line In 2 on the front of my pc, I was able to plug in a guitar, and hear the guitar via headphones. I can use the remote's record button to instantly start recording, with no problems. I can also play audio using Itunes.
When I opened Audition, I immediately received errors saying that my audio device was not configured or whatever, and that I needed to select an audio device. So I went into the Audition settings, chose Soundblaster Audigy 2 [xxxx], specified Line In 2 for the input, applied and exited. Now I can no longer hear the input from my guitar at all, whether in Audition or not. I'm not sure what setting it might have changed on my pc, but any help would be great.

    Other audio plays fine.
Audio is not muted for line in 2, line in 2 is selected in recording screen, line in 2 playback volume is not muted, yet somehow I can hear nothing from line in 2, and i don't have to be recording a single thing... It just doesn't play back.
