Adobe Audition issue

Hello everyone. First of all, i would like to thank you for your time in reading this.
I have a problem that happened when i put together my new pc
I work on Adobe Audition 1.5 from my old pc and when i used to work, i could import MP3's no problem and now on the new pc i cannot which is hindering my work badly as i have to sit and convert them into wav's then enter them( Using a separate converter coz MP3's are not even being read by Audition )
Ive tried multiple things to solve this but was unable to.
One peculiar thing i would like to mention is when i went tocontrol pannel to re-install, i hit repair instead to see what i can do, and it showed me my file associations and apparently everytime i tick MP3 over there, and hit repair, if i go back and do the same thing, it shows me MP3's as unticked. It automatically removes MP3 as a file association for some reason. I really need help in this if anyone can, Thanks again for your time!
Here's a picture of the error i get -

  • There is an issue with Adobe Audition CC and OS 10.8.4. Audition will not open?

Apparently there is a problem with Adobe Audition CC and 10.8.4. Audition worked in 10.7 with no problem but after installing 10.8.4 it no longer opens.

might want to ask, did you clone ML with 10.8.3 before upgrading to 10.8.4? sometimes there are issues, and there are with .4 so having a clone of your system prior to update is important. Same for how long to keep a clone of 10.7.5 or even 10.6.8.
if you practice keeping boot drive small it is easy to make a system restore image 50-150GB and keep it somewhere.
CCC clones not just the system but the recovery partition.
keeping all your data and media off the boot drive helps in other ways, like managing maintenance and performance.

  • Adobe Audition 3.0 Setup - Serial Number Issues

I'm trying to resolve an issue with the Adobe Audition 3.0 Setup. I tried the Chat Support a few times, and they requested me to submit the problem to the forum for Professional Assistance. The issue is that the Setup window asks me for the serial number, and I tried my own serial number, and also the serial number provided in the download site (as the representative suggested) but they don't work. So if I can't finish the setup, I'm not able to perform the installation.

You need to download both the software and the serial number from the download site. You cannot use that serial number with your own version of AA3. It only works with the downloaded version.

  • Quality issue with importing edited audio from Adobe Audition CS6 to Articulate 09

I have edited an audio file using Adobe Audition CS6 and the playback sounds fine. I then import the edited file into Articulate'09 and the audio sounds horrible, very tinny and not useable. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this issue? I have tried saving the audio files as mp3 and wav to see if that would help and it did not make a difference.

I checked - it certainly supports both formats, but you'd have to be a lot more specific about what's wrong, because 'sounds horrible' doesn't convey anything meaningful at all, I'm afraid. And we have no idea of the format you are using - it's very possible that if it's being resampled on the way in by the operating system. If that's the case you have to find out specifically what formats (in terms of bit depth and sample rate) that this software actually supports.
Bottom line is that I'm afraid that this isn't very likely to be an Audition problem at all - you may get a more detailed and meaningful response from Articulate themselves.

  • Adobe Audition CC re-linking issue

I have a strange issue where I gave students copies of a project which they store on their hard drives, they they do audio post-production work on it and submit the Audition .sesx file to me for grading. When I relink their source files for the multitrack mixing session, all of the clips are imported out of sync by the same amount. I've attached a screen shot of the problem.
You can see how the waveform just ends in the middle of the clip, and if I drag the left handle of the clip out, there is the audio that is supposed be playing for the duration of the clip. It's the strangest behavior and I can't find anything on it on any other forums. Has anyone else experienced this behavior or know of a solution?

I just sent SuiteSpot this e-mail:
Hmm, I think you’re on to something here.
The fact that all of the students started with the same material is established however Adobe Premiere does re-export the audio into it’s own aiff or wav files when using the ‘send to audition’ feature. What must have happened was that the students didn’t select the ‘match sequence settings and source clip settings’ when dragging footage into the timeline in Premiere so that whatever the default clip settings were is what they used. Then when they exported the sound files using the ‘send to adobe audition’ feature, those new files it created have either a different sample rate or something different from my files.
I’d prefer not to send out the actual files, because I made a promise to the person who let me use them (it’s a client project) that nothing would be put on the internet. So I kind of feel like an *** but I think it’s best I honor that promise.  I’ll definitely get to the bottom of this next week by having the students not only give me their sesx file but also their source audio files and do some comparison.
I’ll let you know if I find anything, and if you have any further suggestions, please let me know as well!
    Thanks everyone for chiming in,

  • Issues in adobe audition cs6

Everytime i record vocals and go to click stop or anything of the sort (sometimes it's even adding effects or other stuff) at complete random a box comes up on the screen entitling: Adobe Audition CS6 has stopped working. Windows is searching for a solution to the problem and will notify you when a solution is found. this problem has been for months. what can i do? please help.

All the information you need about gathering the crash information is in the two FAQs I've linked below, and I'd be inclined to do what it says here before running the cleaner tool. The cleaner tool often clears up installation issues, but as the last line of the introduction says, 'It does not affect existing installations of previous versions of Creative Cloud or Creative Suite applications.' Which means that it won't help you with specific crash situations. The information in the FAQs will, though:

  • Adobe Audition 5.5 Audio Issues! I NEED HELP

I am currently using Adobe Audition 5.5 on Windows 7. and it is also 64 Bit. I downloaded Asio4all and i am able to record just fine on Adobe. But the music wont play through my headphones. I can see that the song is playing due to the spikes i just cant hear it. I have been suggested to check the Asio control panel for the volume, but i also have no clue where that would be at or how to access it! I need help ASAP!

I doubt whether this has anything to do with ASIO4ALL...
Try right-clicking on the loudspeaker in the bottom right hand corner of your screen, and exploring the sound options there. You should be able to find the output that's driving your headphone socket, and its appropriate volume control. I can't tell you any more than that, because all systems are different, depending on what hardware you have - but the volume control properties are where you should start looking for answers.

We can't help with this - it's an installation issue, and we're a U2U forum. Adobe's chat line is free for sorting out installation issues, and that's where you should get some help from. The only other alternative, if you can save the error log file (the whole of it, not just an extract) would be to send it to [email protected] and see if the developers can throw any light on it.

  • Adobe Audition App Crash on Startup (windows) ImageRenderer.dll Fault Module

I just installed Audition and when I try to open it I receive an error message that it has stopped working and my options are to close the program or check online for a solution. I checked online and nothing came up. I checked my account and everything is up-to-date. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app but it comes up with the same error code. Can someone please help me to figure this out?

Actually Adobe looked into this very thoroughly for me. I was in contact with Durin who passed all of the information I gave them over to their programming department. They then asked for additional information via Email, which is why it's not on this thread. After several back and forth messages they didn't know why it was happening. One thing that they did point out, which I wasn't aware of, is that Audition is one of few Adobe products that requires the SP1 pack for Windows 7. I had just installed 7 on a new system so I hadn't updated to SP1 yet. However, even after I upgraded to SP1 it didn't work. I would recommend checking to be sure you are up to date with Windows, which is why I mentioned this. Maybe it will help you. I know it helped others who had the same issue as we have. I knew that Adobe was working on an update to address so other issues and I was hoping they could figure it out with the update. I installed the update and after that I WAS able to run Audition 2014 after that. So make sure that you do run the update.
I was always able to get Audition CS6 to work without any issues so while Adobe was trying to figure out why it wasn't working for me I just used CS6. If you have the subscription then you can install CS6 via the Creative Center by going to the Apps and down to the Find New Apps section. Just make sure that you have the  versions turned on. You will find that you can download and install CS6 from there.
    Hope that helps....

  • Adobe Audition CS6 (5.0.1) update patch released

UPDATE:  A new 5.0.1 update build has been made available as of July 20, 2012, due to an issue discovered in the Dynamics Processing effect.  If you previously updated Adobe Audition CS6, please visit the links below and install the new update.  This update is not available via Adobe Update Manager and must be downloaded via the website.
Today we released an update to address several bugs in Audition CS6. Many were minor workflow issues, but a few could cause Audition to crash under certain circumstances.
Download the patch installer directly from:
    Windows: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5419
    Mac: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5418
bugs fixed in Adobe Audition CS6 5.0.1 update:
APE files with metadata inserted by other editors cause Audition to crash (Windows)
If previous session directory no longer exists, Audition leaves the Folder Location field empty
Multitrack fades no longer respect the fade type preference.  (Worked in CS5.5)
Audition may crash when users choose to create unique copies of selected MT regions
Playback stutters when creating a unique copy of a clip while right-click dragging
Channel Mix settings not honored on export when not exposed in dialog
EUCON Soft Key set contains keys that do nothing
Session Tempo broken on systems using commas instead of decimal points
Bounce to New Track > Selected Track bounces AFTER passing through track output
If a favorite was recorded on subset of channels, the favorite will fail if those channels are disabled
Sending a stereo bus side-chained to a mono track may crash the application
UAD-2 plug-ins missing from Windows Effects menu
Audition may crash on launch when CoolType encounters certain installed fonts (Mac)

I'm really happy to see this update out, but I haven't been able to install it on my Mac yet.
The Updates item in the help menu is greyed out for me. When I try running the installer from the direct download it says 'Updates have been suppressed by your administrator.'
I can't imagine that I would have disabled updates.
    Any advice?
    Joseph

  • Adobe Audition CS6 (5.0.2) update patch released

    Hey Audition friends!
This morning we released an update patch for Adobe Audition CS6.  This update, version 5.0.2 for Mac and Windows, fixes several bugs discovered after release that could not be fixed in time for the earlier patch, and cleans up a few odds and ends to ensure Audition is fully compatible for use on Windows 8.  Briefly, here are the primary bug fixes:
    Metronone may skip or stutter
Windows registry entry missing backslash in path
Eucon/Avid Artist control surface touchscreen: Control of Surround Panner does not work
Bounce to New Track > Selected Track: New track is now based on channelization of source track
Windows 8: Third-party drivers do not have a valid WHQL signature
CD Burning: Removed 78 minute limit from CD Layout.
Audition may crash on Mac when exporting to OMF
Audition may crash when attempting to bounce a track with a channelization that does not match the Master track
You may install the update by selecting Help > Updates… in Adobe Audition CS6 or through the Adobe Application Manager tool.  Additionally, you may download the patch installer directly for Mac and Windows.

Since 5.02 is an update, not an upgrade (there's a technical difference under the hood) then you shouldn't need to rescan for VSTs or anything - the new executable will use the same settings files.  However, I would suggest NOT updating in the middle of a project as a good rule of thumb.  If you choose to, I might suggest backing up the existing application files or folder so you could easily restore if you chose to.  There were no major changes introduced between 5.0 and 5.02 except for some bug fixes to improve stability, so you'll probably be safe, but unless you're running into one of the specific issues described, my recommendation would be to wait.
As for your second question, I don't know the answer to that.  What happens when you attempt to perform a mixdown?  There was some work done for the 6.0 release that would have reduced problems when trying to mixdown with UAD and other instance-limited plugins.  If you enable Track Pre-Render for those tracks, by clicking the lightning bolt icon in the Effects Rack or the "fx" view in the track panel for those tracks, do you still experience a problem?

  • Trouble installing Adobe Audition 2.0

I am trying to install Adobe Audition 2.0 on a computer it was once installed on.  I am receiving an error message saying Activation unsuccessful because Activation server is not available at this time.
It gives me a phone number to call.
A recording tells me support is no longer available by telephone and to go to website with question.
I am here, seeking advice as to how to install this program.

You are encountering an issue that applies to most of the CS2 and earlier versions of Adobe products.  If you don't mind moving up one version you should be able to acquire and install Audition 3 in place of the version you have.  I believe your version qualifies you for this - someone else had the same problem this past week and they were successful getting version 3 as a replacement.  Just follow the instructions on the following page:

  • Adobe Audition Will Not Save, Export

    Hello,
I finished a project in Audition last night and went to export it. When I checked on the export process after a few minutes, it was stuck at 0%. I wanted to restart the program to see if that would fix the issue, so I attempted to save the multitrack session, but it still froze at 0%. I noticed that there were 4 files processing according to the status bar at the bottom of the program. I tried to end the processes, which were saving metadata for recorded files. Only one of the files stopped saving, and the other three are stuck at 66% no matter what I do. I woke up this morning to check the progress and all files are still at 66% with the remaining time increasing rather than decreasing.
I'm assuming the issue is that Audition can only process so many files at once, so it won't save or export while the other files are processing. Regardless, I need to find a way to save my project before force quitting the program. I would greatly appreciate any suggested solutions.
I am on Windows 8, using Adobe Audition CC 2014.1 Build 7.1.0.119. Here is a screenshot of what happens when I try to save:
Here is one of the files frozen while saving metadata:

Maybe check to see if there are other (non Audition) processes happening in the background and also maybe check the available disk size of both the drive where the audio is and the drive where your temp files are
