Adobe Audtion 1.5

I've got years worth of 'sessions' saved in Adobe Audtion 1.5.  They're not compatible with the newer versions of Adobe Audtion so I want to be able to used Adobe Audition 1.5 on my mac but it doesn't seem possible?  Anybody have any fixes for this?

If a concrete answer can be found, you might start looking on an Adobe forum and not an Apple forum.  Try the Adobe Audition forum for versions prior to 3.0.1.

Please advise me, as I am lost.
I need to find out whether the application called "Adobe Audtion 3.0 Vista Compatibility" is
    1) a proper program that requires its own purchase/license
    or
    2) just a service release, which does not require a license doc. but which is thus covered by the license doc. for Audition 3.
I need this for a Software License Compliance report.
I do not have access the the company's PC, so I cannot go a check anywhere or ask anybody.
I sit in a different company.
Normnally I can find the info I seek on the internet, but I cannot decide on this one.
The info comes from 'Add/remove programs'.
    Please Help!!

I appreciate your answer. If you are not 100% certain I will see if anybody else has a

  • Need help with adobe audtion recording using a mic i wantto plug in

i need to record audio into adobe audtion using an external mic that i will plug intgo the mac. But whe i plug in the chord i still geth thw internal mic recording..any help please??????????????@

I'll stress that I use Windows not a Mac so I'm not expert on that sort of thing but this guide seems to give the information you need:  How to Setup External Microphone in Mac - Make Tech Easier
Once you have the computer itself set up, the controls you need within Audition are on the Edt/Preferences/Audio Hardware menu.  If the mic is properly recognised by the Mac operating system as per the link above, you should then find it on a drop down menu you can select from in Audition.

  • Adobe Audtion login problem

We have a site license for CS6.  Some student attempting to run Adobe Audition get an error "Either or your computer is offline or the clock on your computer is set incorrectly."  The computer is and was connected to the internet (I"m on it now!!) and the clock is set correctly.  How do I correct this problem?

  • Multitrack View not showing up on Adobe Audtion 3.0

You have your Edit View, Multitrack View, and Cd View. Edit View and Cd View work when I click on them but Multitrack view doesn't come up when i click on it. The time selection although does change and I am able to navigate my cursor blindly not knowing what I'm doing almost like there's a  multitrack window going on in the back but I can't get to it. Please help, anything would be greatly appreciated.
    Steven Rickels

I don't quite know how that could have happened. Do you not even see the tabs for Main and Mixer top left under the tool bar? Go to the Windows/Workspace menu and try selecting Multitrack View (Default) to see if that brings it back. Otherwise I suspect that it might mean a complete re-install of Audition.

What software are you trying to install?
Adobe Audtion 3.0 (From the Download Link Tech Support Gave me for no longer supported products)
Which operating system are you using?
    Windows 7 Pro 64 Bit
Was the software previously installed prior to downloading the non-activating version currently available?
Yes, Audition 2.0 was previously installed, I did a full uninstall "advanced"
What specific error messages are you receiving when trying to install?
There is no error message. The installer just stalls.
I get the message, "Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to your computer?"
I choose yes and it just stops.

    Hi Mylenium,
I tried running the installer in compatibility mode and still had the same issue. (Tried service pack 2 & 3 as well)
    No change.

  • Why might Adobe Audition CC be crashing so often

    Hi,
How can I troubleshoot and solve this one?
    The problem:
I used Adobe Audtion CC for a month before purchasing and it crashed a few times but not so often that I was overly concerned.  So I paid my money recently.
Today was a real struggle. The software was crashing every 10 or 20 mins.....and now I am concerned :-(
Instead of starting from scratch today, I started with a template that was generated from a previous project (basically by removing all the audio from the project).
Then the usual sequence of events that immediately preceded a crash was......
I was working all day in the multitrack window.  I would put a new bit of audio on a track, trim the ends and maybe adjust the level...if that didn't cause a crash then often the moment I tried to drag the cursor back to listen to my handiwork it would crash.
If I got a new bit of audio in safely and I had listened to it successfully the software would seem to behave.  However inserting a new bit of audio had me crossing my fingers.  Luckily I was not with a client.
I ended up saving the project every time I made any change for fear of it crashing.
    I'm on a Dell OptiPlex 3020 running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. Intel Core i5-4570 CPU @ 3.2GHz. 8GB ram.
I'd really like this solved quickly!!
    Can anyone help?
    Any top tips gratefully received.
    Cheers
    Geoff

    Bob,
    Thanks for being so helpful.
The quick answer to your question is no, I haven't tried working without Foobar.  For me that's not a good working solution as I use Foobar all the time.  However your suggestion to try MME instead of WASAPI does seem to have cured the crashing problem.  So I think you've solved my particular headache, thanks.
    RE: Crashes.
Since I've been using the MME audio hardware setting I've not had a single crash and I've worked for many hours with it now. So thanks for your top suggestion, it seems to be working :-)
    RE: Foobar
I hope that adding the Saffire LE firewire box won't affect my use of Foobar.
I don't use Foobar's audio output to feed Audition. I only use it as a browser/player for my SFX (70,000 and growing). Using the Foobar database and search facility I can very quickly find the right SFX. Then I listen to them with Foobar. A Foobar 'component' add-on displays the waveform and placing the cursor on the waveform allows me to jump straight to that part of the audio. Very handy if there are multiple cues within a single file.
Having found the right sound effect I can drag it straight from the Foobar window into Audition. It works really well.
Foobar plays all the file formats under the sun. I keep all relevant SFX info in the filename and don't bother with metadata. No need for Soundminer :-) I've configured Foobar to search filenames only and it does a great job. Search results are displayed almost instantly.
    RE: iPhone app
I'll take a look at it although my old iPhone 3G won't run many recent apps :-)
Anyway, that's enough rambling for one post....
    Thanks again.
    Cheers

  • Ton Überblendungen mit Adobe Audition 1.5

    Hallo Adobe Audition 1.5 Gemeinde,
    brauche Eure Hilfe. Mein Problem:

    Joachim

  • Issue Loading Adobe Audition Loopology v3.0

    Hello:
I have a licensed version of Adobe Audtion v2.0.  When I tried to load on a new PC, I can no longer activate the older license.  So, tech support provided me a link to download V3.0 that does not require an activation.  So, I did that and it says it completed the installation, but I cannot find the program anywhere on my PC.  What is wrong?  How do I fix this?
    Thanks,
    The Pres...

I'm really happy to see this update out, but I haven't been able to install it on my Mac yet.
The Updates item in the help menu is greyed out for me. When I try running the installer from the direct download it says 'Updates have been suppressed by your administrator.'
I can't imagine that I would have disabled updates.
    Any advice?

  • "Open in external sample editor" seems to be broken?

    Hey all,
I'm hoping that someone can help me figure this out. I'm using Logic Pro X 10.0.7 in conjunction with Adobe Audition CS6. This problem seems to happen intermittently, and on some of my machines, but not others. I've also witnessed it on others' machines as well.
When I try to open a region of audio in the external sample editor (For which I've set up Adobe Audtion CS6 to do destructive edits), I can manage to get the file to open correctly in Audition. HOWEVER, when I make my edits in audition and try to SAVE the file in Audition to send it back to Logic Pro X, I get an error message that the file cannot be saved because it is "in use by another application". It's almost as if Logic doesn't release the file to the external sample editor in order for it to be overwritten, and updated.
When I switch back to Logic, after I get the error message, Logic "refreshes" the waveform information, but it's still unchanged, because the external sample editor can't save the changes that I've made to the region. Can anyone relate? Offer me useful tips on how to fix this? Is it a bad configuration on my end, or just a bug in Logic?
    Thanks,
    Steve

Ok so I think I might have figured this out on my own... Apparently, if you highlight a region, and the region is open in Logic's Editor window, while you're trying to edit the region with an external editor like Audition, it will throw the "file is in use by another application" error, when you try to save the changes you've made in the external editor. I found that if I close the "Editor" window in Logic, before trying to open the region in Audition, Audition is then able to save the changes to the file.

  • Exporting a project with multiple audio tracks changes the loudness level regardless of export format

I recently had to submit a TVC and discovered that premiere was changing the loudness level after export, when the TVC failed the quality check.
I checked the audio loudness of other formats that I had exported and the same thing had happened the audio loudness, it had changed.
After a bit of troubleshooting I found a workaround. I mixdown all of the tracks in adobe audtion to one track and then imported it into premeire.
Once I did this the audio loudness was not changed after exporting.
Workflow for when it didn't work.
I used edit in adobe audtion for the audio tracks from premiere.
Matched the audio to the loudness level I wanted, and then saved each track.
    Export from premiere.
    To Check Audio Loudness
Bring in exported file into new premiere project
Edit the audio in adobe audtion.
Drag the audio file into match audio to check loudness level.
    I am using
    Adobe Premiere Pro CC v8.1
    Windows 7 on PC
    Please fix this adobe.

I recently had to submit a TVC and discovered that premiere was changing the loudness level after export, when the TVC failed the quality check.
I checked the audio loudness of other formats that I had exported and the same thing had happened the audio loudness, it had changed.
I have never experienced that or had any need for a work around.
What did your Broadcast Quality Control pick up on?
Audio Levels and Loudness are two different things in this regard.

  • Where Are You @ Audition 4+???

Hello  I really need to speak to the makers of audition.  Your product is so great i cannot for the life of me see why your letting this product slip away.  I have been using Adobe Audition my entire life.  Your product allwos me to work faster and more creative then any other product on the market.   Audition 3 is almost a perfect product.  It really dosent need anything else for me except a few features are missing for me..
We need windows 7 64bit compatability.  Majority of pc users by now have windows 7 64bit working with audio / video these days.  The reason is we need to take advantage of all the ram and speed of a 64 bit software.  for small studios getting by with the 32 bit is wonderful.. but we use a ton of rack plugins for tube compressors, reverbs, and effects through out our sessions.   we need to keep the pc running smoothly in very large sessions.
We absolutely need a better universal way to use our own DAE controllers.  You left us stranded here with one option.  The mackie control.  What about those of us using the Mackie Hui or other controllers?  I have searched the depths of the internet looking for a way to get my Mackie HUI working and have went as far to almost hire a programmer to help using the Audition SDK.  If anyone can help on this subject please shead you light on me here im so tired of looking for a solution.. thanks
Your taking forever on getting your team together and taking your product to the next level... Meanwhile die hard supporters of your company are getting left in the dark and your rival companies are luring us slowly in by listening to what we need and delivering it..  For instance ive seen pro tools copy a few of your features through out their updates because people wrote them asking them to have that feature.. One nice feature they havent stolen yet is in the edit window you can highlight the area and simply move volume up and down as needed.  Love that feature while mixing down..  You guys have in my opinion the best audio functioning software and layout but your missing midi controller compatability..
Over the years ive been listening to everyone else say adobe audition is low and how i should  upgrade to pro tools, nuendo, or something professional... But i defended my love for this software because  Its  fast, it functions with little pc load and how its professional all the way arround.
Can you at the least release an update for the midi controllers!!!  im using the mackie hui because i like to see a meterbridge. You only have support for the mackie Universal.. But there should be a lot more controllers supported.  I also own the jl cooper cs-10 and digidesign control 24.
Anyways im not here to listen to the BS... im hoping we can get some insight from the developers on this one here.  Also if youve found a way to use the mackie HUI interface in audition 3 100% please help with that.  Thanks for your time.

Thank you for the excellent reply.  This helps so much.
a few questions in reply to your statement.
1   Some of the more high end mastering processers and plugins that are purchased independently are corrently taking advantage of faster processing using 64 bit.  I am currently running adobe audtion in windows 7 64 bit and it works great i was just curious if they were going take advantage of technology and write a version for people who use larger stuidio sessions and more plugins whom need 64bit.. For instance putting 32 tracks with three active racks on each track creates pc load that causes jittering and errors.  UNLESS... you are running quad core extreme or i7 processors and using 6 gigs of ram.. I continue purchasing the fastest pc i can build.. i want to be able to do my job in audio smoothly and in less time.  I think more professionals would take your product more seriously knowing they can take advantage of their pc recources..  Unfortuinatly 32 bit versions are limiting us like a bottle neck and people getting in to some serious amazing mixes really need to open the pipeline with out errors and hickups.   *just for the record.. im not trying to insult the 32 bit version of Audition because i believe its a fantastic piece of software as is but as a consumer and someone who uses it daily in a comercial environment i would love to have a version made to run on my 64 bit architecture.  I work in audition daily and blow away the clients who are "pro tools this and that"  fans because ive been working in this software environment my entire life so i know the ins and outs and it delivers a much better sound IMO and proof of work.  You cant seriously tell me that because there is a few people still running xp the company hasnt released a 64 bit version.  I would suggest leaving the version 3.0 created for that version and using 4.0 to stay updated with todays technology and PC uses windows 7... My audition system uses 3 monitors.. the 1st is a 46inch that shows my workspace the second is a 32" that shows the mixer and FX rack the third is a 22" that shows the FX plugins controls.. i leave all three wondows maxamized and up to see whats going on while recording a session..  Nice you have this feature.. Just to give you an example of the setup and why multiple cores and processiong and why were using 64 bit.. we are alsio taking advantage of faster hard drives, ram,  ect..
    2.     The drivers fro the mackie board i was reffering to was made in 1997 and IMO is a great tool available for adobe to use to give us hands on production.  It features a full meter bridge and controlls basically everything your mouse regularly clicks on.. I purchased this specifically to use with my adobe audition and went in to set it up in my studio and..... i was greatly dissapointed to find only one support controller available for the mackie universal which is a slightly newer version but dosent have a meter bridge...  There is not many professional automation mixers available for us to buy so supporting the few that are out there would be nice.. and im sure if you contacted mackie or any other company making boards you will find them happy to supply you support to place them in the software...   Its a little diffrent for me as a consumer writing them now asking for a basic control driver for my MACKIE HUI which now is discontinued and asking them to make me a driver that i can mod in to your system...  thats way too difficult.. Im asking if you would look in to this for future development so we can take advantage of automation and control in all available consoles.. Profesional recording  environments use these surfaces shouldent your software support them?
    3.  Adobe audition is great dont let someone program and change the whole layout arround. this work environment is so perfect.. it really im really a die hard audition user i work in this environment and think its the best.. There really isnt much to change. IMO it just needs support in the areas noted above.. It would be cool to maby update the skin a little but you really dont need much... Im very estatic about a newer release.. I however do not work in mac and not every audio engineer does eather. However mac support is awsome to hear guys!
IM excited to hear of updates and you guys are moving forward and the product was not dropped Audition should be a priority over soundbooth IMO.. thanks! oh and is there anyone with knowlage of how to get this mackie hui working with automation in adobe audition 3?  thanks?

  • How can I open old audition files in New Audition Program?

Help, I had to do a RESTORE on my New Computer , I saved dozen of songs and sessions as well as  My Audition 1.5 {Program) on an external HD. When I reinstalled Adobe Audtion on my Computer again, it opens. But when I try to open any of the "songs (seesions) I saved on my external HD, the files do NOT open up in Audition, instead Audition opens up as a New Session., with no Hint of the recorded file. When I insert the files thru Audio, they all come in at the beginning of the tracks, some slower eetc, NOT they way they werfe originally recorded in Audition... what can I do?...thanks./..victor

Check the folder for the songs on your external hard drive.  Is the session file still contained in each one?  The session file's the one with the .ses ending.

  • Dolby Digital 5.1

    Hi,
I have movie clips that were shot with a Sony HD handycam in Dolby 5.1 audio. Will I be able with Adobe Element 10 to output this to a blu-ray in Dolby Digital 5.1 audio?
    Thanks.

    Airborne,
The output was the part of the question, that I needed clarification on too. I knew that through PrE 9, the output would be a 2-channel (stereo) mixdown, and Steve verified that PrE 10 was no different, regarding the output (Export/Share). However, as it has been for a few versions, PrE can easily Import DD 5.1 SS for editing. It is the Encoding to DD 5.1 SS, that is the limitation.
Now, there are ways around that, but then one must leave PrE to do the final output, and to work effective with DD 5.1 SS, that would be pretty early in the editing process. Minnetonka Audio offers a stand-alone DD 5.1 SS Encoder, to get the Audio Stream in DD 5.1 SS AC3.
The reason that one needs to leave PrE early is that it does not offer full editing in DD 5.1 SS, like PrPro does. Instead, one would use a program, like Adobe Audtion, with Multi-track editing. It can output to six discrete Audio Streams, each in a separate 1-channel file. One would then use a stand-alone Encoder to get all six into a DD AC3 file.
On a sidenote: recording good 5.1 SS Audio is really tough. Many cameras that allow it, have mics placed very close together, but just pointing in different directions, while some do processing of a 2-channel Audio Stream, to create a faux 5.1 SS. In the first case, those multiple mics usually pick up a lot of Audio, that one will find not very usable, such as the camera operator's clothes rubbing together. To record true 5.1 SS, one needs 5 well-placed mics (the LFE channel is usually not recorded on location, but separated out, or added, in studio), The mics will be very narrow band, and run through a multi-channel mixer, so that the feed from each can be adjusted, easily. The result will be 5 discrete Audio Streams, one in each of 5 separate Audio files. The sound persons involved will need to be well-versed in 5.1 SS recording, and then the editor will need to be trained, as well. It is not as easy as just having a bunch of mics, pointed in different directions. It is the domain of skilled professionals, with proper and specialized equipment.
Offering DD 5.1 SS in-camera is more of a marketing tool, IMHO, and most users of such cameras actually fight the 5.1 SS, giving up on it, after just a bit.
Also, editing 5.1 SS is an art, even with the proper software, such as PrPro w/ the optional Minnetonka Audio SurCode DD 5.1 SS Encoder plug-in. There are so many considerations, beyond just stereo Audio.
If you are really determined to edit 5.1 SS, and output to DD 5.1 SS for DVD's, or BD's, I have several books that will prove useful.
I do most Projects in DD 5.1 SS, with PrPro and the SurCode Encoder plug-in. Most are really faux 5.1 SS, that I create in the studio, though some do start with 5 discrete Audio files, recorded by a professional sound crew, and furnished to me as separate WAV files. These Projects are edited in 5.1 SS, and then I output to DD 5.1 SS AC3's (one of the two formats, that can be used as the Primary Audio Source in DVD/BD)*. Often, the client will want DTS (cannot be Primary, and must be Supplemental Audio only). That (like DD Pro-Logic, etc.) must also be output with a separate Encoder (I use the SurCode DTS Encoder, which is a stand-alone, and not plug-in, like their DD 5.1 SS), and I also have to work on the Audio in Audition (in my workflow), outputting to six discrete Audio files, before Encoding. This is a multi-step, involved workflow, but produces great results.
    Good luck,
    Hunt
    * In NTSC DVD, only PCM/WAV, or DD AC3 can be used for the Primary Audio Stream, where with PAL, MPEG Audio is optional, though really falling out of favor. Besides those Primary Audio Streams, many others can be used on DVD, but MUST be Supplemental, and are accessed only via a Menu, or from the remote's Audio button.
