Adobe Bridge - Backup auf externe Festplatte

Hallo,
ich habe folgendes Problem und bitte um Hilfe.
Ich habe alle meine Bilder, die ich vorher in Bridge mit Stichwörtern und Bewertungen versehen habe, auf eine externe Festplatte gespeichert.
Nun will ich diese zurück kopieren und neu sortieren (ca. 5.000) und ich muß feststellen, das alle Verwaltungsdaten weg sind.
Was habe ich falsch gemacht und was sollte ich zukünftig beachten unm die verwaltungsdaten auch bei Backup oder Spiegelung auf eine andere Festplatte alle Verwaltungsdaten zu erhalten.
Ich haber in HIP Foto Video 11/2006 gelesen, dass ich das Back up Modul der Bilddatenbank benutzen muss.
Wo finde ich das in Bridge?

ich habe folgendes Problem:
Beim Öffnen von IPhoto wird mir seit kurzer Zeit immer folgendes angezeigt:
"Ihre Mediathek wird entweder von einem anderen Programm verwendet oder kann nicht mehr gelesen werden."
Meine Mediathek ist auf einer externen Festplatte auf der ich auch mein MacBook Pro Backup habe. Die Festplatte an sich funktioniert einwandfrei und der Ordner mit der IPhoto Mediathek ist auch noch da, samt 23 GB Speichervolumen. Ich habe meine Festplatte ca. 2 Woche nicht an meinem MacBook gehabt und glaube, dass es vielleicht daran liegt. Ich habe die Mediathek seit 1 Jahr auf der Festplatte und bisher hatte ich nie Probleme.

benutzt Du diese Mediathek von mehr als einem Mac aus? Oder über ein Netzwerk?
Ich würde auf jeden Fall versuchen, die iPhoto Mediathek zu reparieren.
Starte iPhoto, während Du die beiden Tasten ⌥⌘ (Optionstaste, Befehlstaste) gleichzeitig gedrückt hältst und gleichzeitig auf die Mediathek klickst. Halte die Tasten gedrückt, bis das Erste Hilfe Panel erscheint.
Wenn das klappt, versuche zuerst "Zugriffsrechte Reparieren", und falls das noch nicht hilft, probiere "Datenbank reparieren":
Und als letzte Option "Datenbank neu anlegen". Aber stelle sicher, dass Du eine aktuelle Sicherheitskopie der Mediathek hast, bevor Du das versuchst.

Wie lagere ich Dateien auf externe Festplatte aus?

Hallo,
kann mir jemand behilflich sein. Die interne Festplatte meines Macbookair ist ziemlich an der Grenze angekommen. Nun habe ich mich entschlossen meine Musik, Fotos, Hörbücher und Bilder auf eine externe Festplatte auszulagern.
Ich habe die neue Festplatte in 10 Partionen aufgeteilt, damit mir nicht wieder das selbst passiert, wie mit der internen Festplatte. Jetzt verstehe ih aber nicht, wie ich die Dateien von der internen Festplatte auf die externe auslagern kann.
Bitte um Hilfe.

Du kannst entweder die Mediathek auf den externen Datenträger verschieben oder ein Backup machen:

Stelle sicher, dass die externe Platte Mac OS Extended (Journaled) formatiert ist.
Beende iPhoto.
Kopiere die Mediathek vom "Pictures (Bilder)" Ordner auf die externe Platte.
Drücke die alt/option Taste runter, während du iPhoto startest. In dem Panel, das sich öffnet, drücke die "Auswählen" Taste, und dann wähle die kopierte Mediathek auf der externen Platte aus. Damit wird diese Mediathek die neue Default Mediathek.
Teste die Mediathek gründlich, und wenn du sicher bist, dass alles o.k. ist, kann die ursprüngliche Mediathek auf der internen Platte gelöscht werden, um Speicherplatz freizumachen.
Eine Sicherungskopie der Mediathek erstellen:
Der einfachste Backup:
Ziehe die iPhoto Mediathek vom "Bilder" Ordner zu einem Ordner auf einer anderen Platte.
Das wird eine Kopie auf dieser Platte erzeugen.
Etwas komplizierter:
Verwende eine Anwendung, die inkrementelle Backups/Sicherungskopien erstellen kann.
Das ist eine sehr gute Art das zu machen.
Beim ersten backup wird eine vollständige Kopie der Mediathek erzeugt. Danach wird die Sicherungskopie aktualisiert und nur die Änderungen aufgenommen. Dadurch werden spätere backups sehr viel schneller. Viele Backup Programme bieten die Möglichkeit einen Terminplan für automatische, regelmäßige Backups aufzusetzen.
Beispiele für solche Programme sind: Chronosync oder DejaVu . Aber es gibt mehr: Schau auf MacUpdate nach.

ich speichere meine Musikdateien, Podcasts,... auf meiner externen Festplatte (mybook) und das funktioniert ohne Probleme so lange ich mein MacBookAir nicht abschalte und es ausreichend Strom hat. Wenn ich das MAcBookAir runterfahre/neustarte verstellt sich automatisch der Speicherort für meine Mediathek. Der neue Speicherort ist lokal am MacBookAir. Ich muß dann wieder den Speicherort änder und dann wird erst Mal aktualisiert. Das nervt ziemlich. Kann mir jemand sagen, wie ich das Problem lösen kann ?

Make sure the external drive is on and mounted before you start iTunes. If iTunes cannot find its library when starting it will automatically use the default location on the internal drive.
You don't say if only media are stored on the external drive or if your whole iTunes folder is there.
Go ahead and post in German, I can understand it. However, I learned German before computers were around so I don't know any of the terminology myself.

Photoshop speichert nicht auf externer Festplatte

Hallo zusammen,
ich habe seit einiger Zeit das Problem, dass Photoshop sich weigert eine Datei auf unserer externen Festplatte zu speichern.
Fehlermeldung: "Die Datei konnte nicht unter "Y:...." gespeichert werden, da die Datei gesperrt ist, Sie nicht über entsprechenden Zugriffsrechte verfügen bzw. ein anderes Programm auf die Datei zugreift. Heben Sie den Schutz der Datei mit Hilfe des Befehls "Eigenschaften" im Windows-Explorer auf."
Photoshop ist das einzige Programm, dass diese Fehlermeldung ausgibt. Und Speichern auf dem Desktop funktioniert ohne Fehlermeldung.
Zugriffsrechte habe ich als Admin und die Dateien werden definitiv nicht in einem anderen Programm verwendet.
Mittlerweile nutze ich die Vorgehensweise, dass ich die Datei auf dem Desktop speichere und dann in den entsprechenden Ordner verschiebe, aber das kann ja auch keine Dauerlösung sein...
Wäre klasse, wenn einer zufällig eine Lösung für dieses Problem kennen würde :-)

Na dann sind vielleicht die Benutzerrrechte auf dem NAS selbst verbockt. Die Dinger laufen ja alle unter 'nem Mini-Linux und Windows-Netzwerkuser sind nicht das gleiche wie die lokalen Linux-User. Wenn auch nur einmal ein Verzeichnis mit falschem Benutzer angelegt wurde, kann das schon reichen, das ganze System unbrauchbar zu machen, also z.B. wenn jemand mal Ordner über das eingebaute Webinterface angelegt hat anstatt ganz normal im Windows-Explorer....

Finder crashes occur both on my MacBook Pro (4,1) and MacBook Air (2,1). There is very little in common between the hardware of the two systems except the Santa Rosa processor. One has HDD and the other SSD. One has 6GB in DDR2 memory in two dimms and one 2GB DDR3 soldered. One has an 8600M and one a 9400. One starts a bunch of apps at login and one starts nothing. And so on. Since it happens on different kinds of systems, it's definitely not a hardware problem with certain specific hardware. And I'm pretty sure I saw a report from someone with a MacPro.
I've looked at a lot of finder crash logs. A number of them seem to happen when something (memory or an object) is being freed and an error occurs. This causes an abort and the finder is killed and restarts. Not exactly a "crash". More like controlled flight into the ground. The other cases are probably not catching the error and getting seg faults, so those actually are crashes. Unfortunately, the place this happens seems to be different every time but usually related to finder or AppKit.
I suspect a memory corruption bug somewhere. I've pushed my system by opening and closing
folders, scrolling up and down, and opening and closing subfolders, and once the problem happens, it is usually reproducible for a few minutes (or a few repeats of the action that caused the crash).
Then it will often "magically" start working or a slight variation of behavior, e.g., opening a folder directly vs. using a finder window sidebar alias (or vice-versa) will work.

Why I can't do a search in my external hard disk using Adobe Bridge CS6?

When I open Adobe Bridge CS6 and try to do a search within my external hard disk, it will give results from my internal hardisk only?! this is the 1st time I encounterd such strange issue. Because of this I do my search with windows and then browse each result with Bridge! which really annoying.

I solved the problem by going to the search field and clicking on the search icon where it will give a drop list of 3 options, then selecting Bridge Search: Current Folder and that solved my problem. thanks for everyone help

You can do a search of an external drive if the OS permissions are OK. Bridge will not search across different drives however.

Mein MacBook hatte leider ein paar Probleme und deshalb musste ich es abgeben und das System wurde nochmal komplett neu draufgeladen. Meine Daten habe ich vorher auf meiner externen Festplatte, die als TimeMaschine dient gespeichert. Jetzt habe ich mein neues MacBook und selbstverständlich sind dort noch keine Daten drauf vorhanden.
Kann ich nun meine externe Festplatte anschließen und meine Daten (Musik, Fotos,...) werden wieder auf mein MacBook rübergespielt und es ist nachher wieder alles wie bei meinem alten MacBook, oder muss ich Angst haben, dass alle Daten gelöscht werden?

Mediathek auf eine externe Festplatte NTFS kopieren???

Hallo, Ich habe nun viel gesucht und nicht wirklich eine Antwort gefunden.
Ist es möglich die Mediathek aus dem IPhoto auf eine externe Festplatte zu sicherrn?
Oder geht es nur Ordner für Ordner?
Auch sollte ich die Ordner auf eine nicht Mac konfigurierte Festplatte - NTFS sichern um diese Fotoordner auch auf einem Windows PC zu nutzen.
Ich habe auch eine MAC Festplatte, diese wird aber bei Windows gar nicht angezeigt?

Das hängt von der Art der Daten ab. iPhoto Mediatheken erfordern unbedingt das Format MacOS Extended (Journaled), und das kann nicht von Windows gelesen werden. Aber Bilder, Videos und andere Dokumente können auf einer NTFS Festplatte abgelegt werden und sowohl vom PC als auch vom Mac gelesen werden.

Das Neuformatieren löscht eine Festplatte. Bevor sie neuformatiert wird, müssen die Daten auf einer anderen Platte gesichert werden.
Wieviel Platz ist auf Deiner Festplatte? Du könntest Sie partitionieren - eine Hälfte NTFS um Daten zwischen PC und Mac zu teilen, und eine hälfte MacOS Extended für eine Sicherheitskopie der Mediathek.
Aber einfacher wäre es, eine zweite Festplatte nur für Sicherheitskopien zu beschaffen und diese für Mac zu formatieren.

Using Adobe Bridge as Aperture 3 External Editor

I have a problem that I can't seem to solve and I'm hopeful that a post here can get me closer to some resolution. I recently started using Bridge for noise reduction and PS for high pass sharpening. The downside is my work flow is now shot full of holes! I have Bridge as my external editor; I make the edits in Bridge then do a high pass sharpen as well as any other edits I might choose to make in PS. If I need to, I flatten the image if I have layers. It is here that my problem begins.
Aperture creates the new tiff version within it's program as soon as I choose to edit in Bridge, but I don't know the exact process to save that image while in Bridge or Photoshop to reflect the changes in Aperture. Another question I have is which version of the image in Bridge I should be editing the jpeg or tiff? any help here would be greatly appreciated!

I use Bridge as editor because once there, I go into "camera raw" to process images.
So now you're bringing a third app into the equation. Bridge, ACR and Photoshop are all individual applications. If you're not using an app like Aperture then Bridge might be the front end for the other two, but in the case you describe it has no role.
Another thing to think about: ACR ("camera Raw") is for processing Raws - which job you are currently doing with Aperture. You're not sending Raws to Bridge/ACR... You're sending tiffs.
I think you need to rethink your workflow somewhat. I'm not sure you've grasped what the various tools actually do.

Error Message: Need to purge Cache in Adobe Bridge CC (on PC)

I tried purging using Adobe Bridge by going to Edit/Preferences/Cache then purging, but it becomes non responsive. The error message said the problem files were at Users/(my user name)/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/BridgeCC/Cache. There are 4 files in there that are taking up 124 GB! Can I simply delete these files or will it corrupt my regular files? I tried doing as some other forums suggested and hold the ALT key down when opening Bridge before purging, but no luck.

Yes, you can delete the cache files manually, Just be advised that Bridge will become very, very slow until it finishes rebuilding its caches. Depending on your files, that can take a few minutes or several hours.
A good way of doing it is at night, so you can do it before going to bed and let Bridge rebuild caches overnight.
If you can, save the cache files before deleting them to an external drive, so that you'll have them as backup if something goes wrong.
