Can you be more specific with this problem, I'm not sure I understand what you mean with plug in.

The same thing happens when you connect an iPod Touch.
Here's the solution:
1) Plug in your device; when Adobe Bridge pops up, just close them.
2) Open Image Capture app on your Mac (not sure about PCs), bottom left side says, "Connecting this (insert device name here ie. iPod or iPad) opens:"
3) select No application.

ITunes freezes up when I select movies in my Library. I am using a MacBook Pro and have the latest upgrades on software. Thanks for any advice.

Restart your computer and lauch the Activity Monitor application. That will show you all the programs running on your computer along with how much RAM and CPU time each application is using. Next, launch iTunes and see how many resources it is taking up. Is it hogging all the available RAM and/or CPU cycles? It could be that you don't have enough free RAM or CPU cycles. If you're running close to 100% before you get to the movies, it could be they are pushing you over the top. The Activity Monitor application can show you if that's the case. If so, then try to select Movies and see if your iTunes application starts trying to use up even more resources. If so, try a RAM upgrade and/or a faster processor. These are just suggestions, of course, but I hope they help.

Adobe Bridge CS4 pops error when Update Option from Help is launched

when i m trying to Launch the Update from the help menu of Adobe Bridge it pops-up with a error messge instead of launching update.
The error says
Adobe Bridge
Bridge is not in a position to check for updates.
The cause of the error may lie in the fact that an Internet connection can be established or that you are logged in as a user without administrator privileges.

Please help what is the probable cause for this.
I have tried disabling the updateoption by
1) Adding the Enterprise DWORD value in registry HKLM\Software\Adobe\Updater
2) Adding the "Update" "Suppress" value in "Application.XML.Override" file while installing the CS4 Suite

Apologies I dont think I had made myself clear.
I am trying to package Adobe Photoshop CS4 which has Adobe Bridge as a component. As per the company standards, I am suppossed to be deploying this package & installing it using silent setup. Since this is a corporate environment, they do not want any auto updates to be enabled, as well as disable all menu items related to updates. Hence I had checked through the Adobe Support Site and followed the instructions provided by using the Adobe Deployment Toolkit and supressed the updates using the tool.
Inspite of following the steps mentioned in the Deployment Kit and the guides associated with it, I was unable to supress the Updates options that reflects under Help Menu for Adobe Bridge CS4. All the other associated programs like photoshop, Extend Scripts etc the updates are disabled. The problem seems to be only with the Adobe Bridge Update.

Adobe Bridge CS6 - Freezing

When I open bridge it starts putting up thumbnails, and then freezes. I upgraded from CS5 to CS6 and it's been doing it since my initial installation. It worked fine when I only clicked a small folder with a few files, but when I clicked my DropBox folder where all my images are, it just sits and then freezes saying 'not responding'.

Adobe Bridge CC Freezes Every Time

Please help, Bridge CC is basically unusable! It has been this way since I installed it.
I have followed these steps several times and no success:

Basically every time I open Bridge CC, if I navigate through a few folders it freezes. I am not trying to do anything crazy - just view some files or presets. The files are just small jpgs and a few gifs so nothing massive, but most of the time I don't get a chance to click on any files, just folders before it freezes.
I have no other versions of Bridge open. I have looked through the forums here and the only options seem to be cache related, which I ahve tried both manually and included in the help page above.
I am on an iMac with OS 10.8.5 running CC with 11 apps installed.

I have followed these steps several times and no success:
There are a lot of steps mentioned but not to try a new user account for testing. And did you already used Apple Disk utility to check and repair permissions?
Also you can delete both plist and cache file for Bridge CC from the user library manually, did you try that also?
Be aware that the user library per OSX7 is hidden, use menu go with option to reveal this library.
Quit Bridge and in the preferences folder of the user library look for the Bridge6.plist file and drag this to the trash.
Then in same user library go to Caches / adobe/ BridgeCC and inhere delete both plug in and cache folder to the trash. Restart Bridge holding down option key and choose reset prefs and then try again.

Adobe Reader XI freezes computer when opened from Excel hyperlink

My computer has been frozen multiple times after opening a pdf from a hyperlink in Excel. Sometimes it randomly freezes after reading the document for a while and sometimes it freezes when I try to close the document. I have Adobe Reader XI 11.0.06, I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OS, and Excel 2010. The mouse will still move sometimes once things freeze up but clicking doesn't work and alt+ctrl+del doesn't bring up task manager either, so I have to hard reboot. Anyone have a fix for this?

The first thing I would try is to disable Protected Mode in Adobe Reader [Edit | Preferences | Security (Enhanced)].

Random freeze, always when using 'save as' or 'open with' or 'attach'

For quite a while now I get random freezes (no specific event started this, and I cannot remember if it did it pre-10.6 it used to be very sporadic and gotten worse over time). I first thought it had to do with my temp control in my graphic card (RadeonX1900), since I had a lot of freezes when playing games. I controlled that by cleaning the dust and using smcFanControl, but I still have the random freezes. So I think this is something unrelated to temp control...
It happens randomly, sometimes once a week, sometimes 10 times a day, and it doesn't seem to relate to the amount of usage and what kind of usage on the mac.
But always these kind of events triggers it: 'save as' in any application. 'open with' in the finder. 'attach' in Mail. So whenever an application needs to show me what is on my computer (excuse my lack of technical terms). And it seems to happen more often when timemachine is backing up.
When it happens the only thing to do is to restart by holding the power button.
I run cocktail once a week, I have cleaned up using Clean My Mac. I have done a reinstall of snow leopard.
I would like to avoid doing an erase and install since I do not have the discs for a lot of software and the ones I do have, it would take forever to get everything installed and running again.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

I've used that version on Tiger quite well, but if you're worried, I can give you a direct download link to an older archived one, (batchmod_137.dmg).
But I think something stranger is going on now, I'd try this Applejack...

After installing, reboot holding down CMD+s, (+s), then when the DOS like prompt shows, type in...
applejack AUTO
Then let it do all 5 of it's things.
At least it'll eliminate some questions if it doesn't fix it.
The 5 things it does are...
Correct any Disk problems.
Repair Permissions.
Clear out Cache Files.
Repair/check several plist files.
Dump the VM files for a fresh start.
First reboot will be slower, sometimes 2 or 3 restarts will be required for full benefit... my guess is files relying upon other files relying upon other files!
Disconnect the USB cable from any UPS so the system doesn't shut down in the middle of the process.

PSE 8 freezes always when importing photos

This is frustrating.
It is my experience that PSE is one of the most "buggy" programs around. (BTW- the same can be said for Adobe Reader.)
Every time I import photos to PSE 8, the program freezes. It must be turned off and restarted. Then it resumes where it left off. Seems to be during the organizing of the imported files.
My computer is up to date, has 3Gb memory and my imports are 50 to 120 photos, not thousands.
I can troubleshoot, but the real problem is that Adobe needs to address and correct this software issue.

I agree that the quality of PSE 8 is abysmal. If you're interested in finding a workaround:
Try deleting the thumbnail cache -- it may be partially corrupted. See step 5 of this FAQ:

When I downloaded Photoshop from the Creative Cloud, it did not include Adobe Bridge?

When I downloaded Photoshop CS6 from the Creative Cloud, it did not include a copy of Adobe Bridge. Adobe Bridge does not appear in the selections in my Adobe File Manager to download from the Cloud. How do I obtain a copy of Adobe Bridge?

Bridge is automatically installed with Photoshop, After Effects, InDesign, Illustrator etc. There is no specific option to install it.

I've been using Iphoto as a primary download program for years. As of today, when I click a thumbnail to open the photo, I get a black screen with an exclamation mark on some shots. Also, these shots can't be dragged into Adobe Bridge. Would love help!

I use Iphoto as my primary download tool, then drag images into Adobe Bridge. Just today, when I tried to open a photo by clicking a thumbnail, all I got was an image of an exclamation mark and I couldn't drag the shot either. These are images I've successfully opened and dragged before. I would love guidance from anyone who knows a fix for this. Thanks! John

The ! turns up when iPhoto loses the connection between the thumbnail in the iPhoto Window and the file it represents.
What version of iPhoto?
As Larry says, your workflow doesn't make a whole lot of sense. If you're using iPhoto only for downloading then you're best off using Image Capture (in your Applications Folder) and just keep the whole database element out if it. If you're using iPhoto also to organise, then what are you using Bridge for? Anything you do in Bridge - or Photoshop - is unavailable in iPhoto if you work this way.

Adobe Bridge CC frequently "Not Responding"

I recently moved from CS5 to CC, and Adobe Bridge now freezes for several seconds after nearly every mouse click. This has happened since it was installed on my computer, so I don't believe it is a problem with the cache or configuration. That said, I have purged the cache, compressed the cached, reset the settings, uninstalled and reinstalled Bridge, disabled every window and panel, updated my system, updated my Graphics card, updated all of my drivers, and banged my head against the wall. All of which did not fix the issues.
None of my other Adobe programs suffer from this continuous and constant lag. It is so bad that I now preview all of my photos using Windows Explorer. When I want to tag an image, I write down the file name on a specifically colored sticky note and stick it to the side of my monitor. It makes for slow metadata searching, but it's more effective than Bridge CC. I didn't have these issues with CS5.
Is there any way to determine what is the root cause of the unresponsiveness? Is there a verbose logging option to see if it is disk I/O, RAM, or CPU/GPU problems? I have a decent SSD, my proc is an i7 4770, I have 16 GBs of good RAM, and an NVidia GeForce GTX 560 Ti (Definitely the oldest component in the rig). Oh, and Windows 8.1

Can't import pic/video via Adobe Bridge anymore

I just installed ios 7 on the iphone 5.
I tried to import my pic/videos to my mac book pro via Adobe Bridge like I always do,
but Adobe Bridge(or iPhotos) doesn't recognize any files on the iphone.
I never had this issue before.
How can I make Bridge recognize the files for me to import the files to the computer?
If someone had the same problem and solved it please let me know.

Thanks for the reply. The external drive is formatted MS-DOS File System (FAT32). I had to do this because I had problems with it at first when I was using it interchangeably with a Mac and a PC. When it was Mac formatted it wouldn't be compatible with my PC for some reason (or I could read files, but couldn't write - something like that). Any suggestions?

Can't view raw files in Adobe Bridge CS4

Hi,
I bought a new iMac OS X version 10.8.5 . I have a Canon 5d Mark ii and I shoot in RAW. I installed CS4.. I also downloaded the newest version of the camera raw plug-in (5.7). I placed the plug-in in applications--> adobe photoshop CS4 -->plug-ins--> file formats.
In Bridge, I can only view the grey thumbnail that says CR2. I can click on it and it'll open up into camera raw where I can edit some and then open it into photoshop. I want to be able to view the images in bridge to know which ones I want to open up in camera raw. Also, when I right click on the thumbnail there isn't an option that says "open in camera raw".
Should I also place the camera raw plug-in in the applications-->Adobe Bridge-->plug-ins?
When I click on about plug-ins on photoshop, it's showing me 2 camera raw plug-ins.. version 5.0 and version 5.7. I can't find 5.0 to delete?

If you just go to Help>Updates, Bridge should take care of this for you, unless you've managed to get multiple copies of the plug-in into the folder. If you manually installed things, check to see that there is only one plug-in there, then let Bridge do it for you.

Adobe Bridge CS3 - Favorites Disappear

Every time I open Adobe Bridge CS3 I set up my favorites folder just the way I want them; but when I close the program down and reopen it, the favorites menu has been cleared.
I tried saving my work space; But this was to no avail.
The work space layout stayed in place but the favorites are still erase when I load the work space.
Also, if it helps to diagnose the problem, when I try to open the preferences Adobe Bridge CS3 immediately crashes.
I've tried deleting the cache folder & I've tried repairing Adobe with the install CD with no luck.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Great when things work again; funny how you can try something and it does not work the first time; then magically it does - the joys of software!
I often wonder what the preferences file in Bridge does for us, if we can clear it and not notice that we have lost any settings.
I hardly use Bridge since I moved to Lightroom, except to check that Bridge sees what Lightroom does. But I must say that I like its Metadata panel.
If neither Bridge nor Lightroom existed, I think that I could survive on Photoshop CS3 alone and manage files without either.
