Adobe Bridge CS3 not opening Photoshop Image Processor

I selected one, four, and multiple pictures in Bridge to reduce the file size of jpgs. I went to Tools > Photoshop > Image Processor. Nothing happened. Photoshop did not open. That got me to thinking that sometimes while I am in Photoshop Bridge won't open either. Any ideas on resolving issue of "Bridge not opening Photoshop Image Processor" would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Curt Y, Everything is checked in the "Startup Scripts," including Bridge (twice) and Photoshop (twice). Not sure why duplicate entries but there are.
If you mean that you have two of the same versions (both CS3) in there that indicates there is something wrong with your install
If you have any suggestions regarding being able to access the Image Processor to resize pictures and such without first opening Photoshop, I'd greatly appreciate it. If not, the work around will have to suffice.
My first goal would be to reset the preferences for both PS and Bridge and then try again

Choose 'Previous Version' in the Apps filter as shown above and then Chose Bridge 6.0 for Bridge.

I have taken a 30 trial of Creative Cloud (Photoshop) It keeps telling me to close Adobe Bridge. Adobe bridge is not open and the free trial will not download.

Bridge will not open Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator

When I try to open an image by double-clicking it or pressing the enter key, I get the following message:
"Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item."
None of the scripts under Tools>Photoshop> work either. This also affects Illustrator and Indesign. I tried purging the cache and resetting the preferences and workspaces via the CTRL key, but to no avail. I have also manually reset the preferences, cache, etc. I even tried resetting file associations under Edit>Preferences>File Type Associations!
Any ideas? I am using Bridge 2.1.1.9. Thanks!

Not an expert here, but since all the applications seem to not work properly it appears you have a conflict somewhere. Could be the uninstall if it changed something, or are programs looking for it and it is not there? Make sure Stock Photos is unchecked in Startup Scripts.
Also, have you changed anything else - drivers, major updates, new hardware?
Also, check to make sure the drive/directory the program is trying to access is the same location where the files are stored. More important if you are not using default location.

Adobe Bridge will not open

I get a dialog box like the one below when I try and open bridge on an iMac running 10.7.2
When I updated to Lion I did a complete format and reinstall of all programs.

Sorry to hear that, did you get the latest updates for CS5.5 en what Camera Raw Plug-in do you have, there were severe problems with ACR 6.5
You could also try this:
In the user library (by default hidden in 10.7, do a google search to bring it in view) preferences folder there is a plist file for Bridge (com.adobe.bridge4.plist) and in the same library is a Caches folder (caches/ Adobe/ Bridge CS5) containing Cache and Adobe Plug in cache. Drag the plist file and both cache file to the trash, start Bridge again with holding down option key and again choose reset preferences.
And how do you start Bridge?

Adobe Bridge CS6 Not Opening

I recently installed the trial version for Photoshop CS6. Prior to this, I have had Photoshop CS2 installed on my computer. Before installing CS6, I uninstalled CS2.
Now, Bridge CS6 will not launch when I click on it. The cursor will show that it's working, but then it will stop and nothing will happen. I did some research and found that this error occurs whenever Bridge CS2 has been previously installed. I tried what was suggested (create an empty folder in C:\Users\[user name]\App Data\Roaming\Adobe\), but that did not work for me from this topic:

Do you have CS5 installed? If so Bridge is probably running in the background. Open Task Manager and look in Processes Tab for Bridge.exe and close.

Bridge does not open Photoshop CC files

When I try to open a photoshop cc file in Bridge I get a message that says " Windows cannot find C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5 (64 Bit)\Photoshop.exe Make sure you typed the name correctly and then try again. Even though The last version of CS I had was CS6 and even though the file I am trying to open was made with Photoshop CC.
I checked my startup scripts and there does not appear to be one for PhotoshopCC. Where do I find them and how do I get them to install properly?

I noticed that there are still adobe folders for photoshop and premiere on the computer. Should I just delete those folders?
Use Easy Find (Devon) and run Adobe in search field. From the list select the folders that you have doubt about and choose Show in finder option. Then look at the content. If it are custom settings like actions, tools, brushes best keep them save.
But to be totally on the save side select all search result and copy them to a separate disk as Back Up so you can always find some lost customized settings back. All other deleted files should be reinstalled as per new install on new disk.
I would like to get it right this time. I was also wondering if I can still download the dmg directly from adobe or is that not available anymore.
If you have bought a download version of the Master Collection for CS6 then their should be a possibility to download it again using your Adobe ID. The new CC can be downloaded again using ACC.
Otherwise you have to contact Adobe customer support for a new copy or download.

How do you open a file from Bridge directly into Photoshop 2014 cc's ARC rather than into Photoshop CS6's ARC?

Probably same fix posted on Feb 5.
If the person posting the original post would Mark post correct then people would know problem has been solved.

Ok, 6 hours later it's a fix for me!
Not sure if it'll work for you but it was quite simple.
Open Finder > (go) Computer > Macintosh HD (for me) > Users > Click once on the Home icon (main admin) > Get Info >
click on lock and authorise bottom right > click on cog wheel drop down > click on 'Apply to enclosed items' > OK
Close info window and try to open bridge

Adobe Bridge will not open (with CS6 Extended)

I Installed a student version of CS6 Extended a couple weeks ago and I have used Bridge with it a few times but all of a sudden it wont open. Photoshop opens perfect but bridge doesnt even come up with any error messages...just nothing. Can any one help me? Please? Thank you

Try resetting preferences. Hold down Crtl key (option on mac) and start Bridge. Should get a reset window.

Just update Yosemite to 10.2.2 and now LR5 has that dreaded spinning wheel. Takes about 30 seconds for each click of Wacom pen or mouse. Adobe Bridge will not open. Worked fine prior to this update. have the latest LR5 installed and Bridge CC

Is there some fix for this? this also affects my LR4. PS CC works fine and all other apps.

It's usually necessary to clean up whats left behind after updating OSX.
Try trashing the prefs. Start by quitting Lightroom 5.
Launch Finder and click the Go menu whilst holding down the Option (alt) key. Then go to Library >> Preferences and clear everything relating to LR5 which usually means deleting the following files:
com.adobe.Lightroom5.plist
com.adobe.Lightroom5LSSharedFileList.plist
Then re-launch Lightroom.
Also look for the corresponding files for LR4 and Bridge plist files.

Try resetting preferences. Hold option key and start PS. You will get a reset window.

I use a windows 7 pro and have no problem like that from bridge cc when I select a thumbnail then use menu Tools>Photoshop>Image Processor.. I see Adobe Photoshop CC 2014 start up then I see the Image processor dialog and that one file is selected in the bridge I the complete the dialog and click run. The image files are created. Photoshop remains open after the image files are create with no open documents. I need to click on the bridge in the task bar to bring bridge back into focus.

I just thought it was interesting and helpful to me to learn that the icon for Bridge does not appear anywhere. Not in Application Folder. Not in the Finders Directory Files. I see your point - if I could locate that icon - I'd be set by dragging it onto my DOCK and launching it from there.
So - I'm assuming I need to uninstall CS6. Please list all the steps for me to uninstall so that I don't miss any CS6 files.
When I search in FINDER for CS6 uninstall- I see two icons - red adobe "UNINSTALL ADOBE PHOTOSHOP CS6" (both files are identical) Under KIND they both say Alias - with two different dates they were last opened (in November - few minutes apart). Is that what I use to uninstall completely all the files related to PS CS6 Extended as well as Bridge?
Do I need to DEACTIVATE ANYTHING ANYWHERE?

I just want to make sure 'everything' related to CS6 Extended is off my computer and out of all the files. In the event i want to re-install - naturally I don't want to run into any conflicting 'issues'.

I note on the forums - going a few years back - that there have been a lot of issues related to this same problem - even in other versions of the Creative Suite. Thank you so much for trying to help me resolve this issue. It is very frustrating to have an Adobe product that is not completely functional. Especially when the Creative Suites are so expensive. I appreciate all the time you've put into this issue.

I cannot download Photoshop CC to my PC. It fails at 43% download with request to close Adobe Bridge. However Bridge is not open. I successfully downloaded LightRoom CC.

I cannot uninstall Bridge from my CS4 without installing Photoshop as well. I don't want to lose CS4 until I know I have CC installed successfully yet Photoshop CC will not download because there apears to be a conflict with CS4 Bridge. Advice would be appreciated.

As far as I was aware Bridge was not open.
However I thought more about it and realised it might be working as a background utility. I disabled Bridge from the start up routine and successfully downloaded Photoshop CC so problem solved.
