Adobe Bridge CS5 4.0.5 Update Installation failed
I have scoured the forums and I see no discussion that addresses my particular error.
For starters I have a Mac, not Windows.
Here's the error from the log:
- 0 fatal error(s), 2 error(s), 0 warning(s)
ERROR: The following payload errors were found during install:
ERROR: - Adobe Bridge CS5_4.0.5_AdobeBridge4-mul: Install failed
I'm following this Adobe guide on troubleshooting but have no clue how to address this. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Photoshop 3 times.
I am also getting similar errors for pixelbender and Camera Raw:
Adobe Pixel Bender Toolkit 2.5 Update
Installation failed
Photoshop Camera Raw 6.6 Update
Installation failed
If you need more log data let me know. I'm wasting hours trying to figure this out! I only reinstalled the Master Collection because After Effects and Premiere kept crashing on me. Thanks
Morris
Can you reset you computer to before the update and try the update again?
You should also reset you preferences as this file is not affect by a reinstall. Believe in Mac it is hold down Cmd key and start Bridge. You should get a reset window with 3 options.

Unfortunately when i need to use it now - it crashes
upon starting up.
I received the following error message:
Adobe Illustrator CS5 15.0.1 Update
Installation failed. Error Code: U44M2P7
Haven't a clue what to do!
Any help and direction would be most appreciated.
g1Updates can fail due to any number of system issue. They are more prone to failing if you alter the application in any way. On the Macintosh, popular applications such as Monoligual will remove application package contents and therefore cause updates to fail.
The easiest solution is to uninstall Illustrator CS5 using the uninstaller and then reinstall Illustrator CS5, then immediatlly run the 15.0.1 update. -

I would greatly appreciate if someone could direct me to the solution to this.
I am running CS5 Version 11 Build 4909 if this helps.
Thank You.Have you tried downloading the updates manually from this link:

If not then please try it and install it on your system. Make sure DW is not running when you are updating it. You also need to restart the machine after the updates so that all the changes can take place.

DW CS5 11.0.4 Updater Installation failed
I have CS5 running on Mac OS X 10.6.8. The Adobe Application Manger launches. It shows Adobe Dreamweaver CS5 with a checkmark. I click UPDATE. I enter my admin password. It downloads Dreamweaver CS5 11.0.4 Updater. Then, it starts installing. Then it says:
/!\ Some updates failed to install.
The following updates were unable to install. If you wish to install these updates, please fix the problems below and retry:
Dreamweaver CS5 11.0.4 Updater Installation failed
Contact Customer Support for further assistance.
I click the Customer Support link, and it takes me to a page that says "Download the Adobe Support Advisor". I do that, and run it, and it says:
Inspection found an issue but cannot determine the cause or corrective action. Please connect Adobe Support for further assistance. http://www.adobe.com/support
I click the support link, and it presents me with a list of help topics, but I don't see a topic on updater failures. There are phone numbers but I don't see a way to email support. There's a link to the forum, and that brought me here.
I tried downloading and running the updater from the Adobe website:
http://www.adobe.com/support/dreamweaver/downloads_updaters.html
It gives me the same "Installation Failed" error.
I read that FileVault can cause problems. I did have FileVault on, but I turned that off. I created a new admin user account, and tried the updaters with that account with the same results.
What should I do now? How do I find out the cause of the failure?
Thanks.Try this link:

Bridge CS5 4.0.2 update fails
Is anyone else experiencing this? I've tried both the auto update and the standalone updater numerous times since the update was released. No other program is running ( except the auto updater ). The result is always the same :
The following updates were unable to install. if you wish to install these updates, please fix the problems below and retry:
Adobe Bridge CS5 4.0.2 Update
installation failed
No other info is given. This on a MBP, 10.6.4 It would be nice if the updater pointed to any clues. I should note I tried searching for this, and found nothing.Ah, Bridge would be technically be considered a separate app wouldn't it.... Though to back my self up, there is no obvious link to that app's forum in the main forum page, and my search, which was of all adobe forums, didn't bring up anything. So it never came to mind as a separate app forum. I barely consider it a separate app anyway since it's auto-bundled with Photoshop.
Still found no solution however.... I guess I just wait till the next update version. -
11.0.4 Updater installation failed - error U44M1P7
For the benefit of others, I wanted to post the steps that fixed this issue for gbrozk1:
Open Extension Manager CS5.
Select Dreamweaver on the left, and then remove the HTML5Pack (11.0.3 Updater) extension.
Repair the installation of Dreamweaver using your original installation media.
To do this, insert your original installation DVD, or double-click the downloaded DMG file, and then double-click Set-Up.app to begin the installation.
When given choices of which products to Install/Re-install, uncheck everything except Dreamweaver. (That is, we need to be sure Dreamweaver is selected to be re-installed. Re-installing repairs the installation.)
Follow the remaining on-screen instructions to complete the re-install/repair of Dreamweaver.
Restart your computer.
Install the 11.0.4 update.
Hope that helps someone!I have had the same problems as you @davert2
Dreamweaver CS5 11.0.4 Updater
Installation failed. Error Code: U44M1P7
I have done the following to try and rectitfy the error:
1. I tried Carey Burgesses help here - http://forums.adobe.com/thread/848587?start=0&tstart=0
2. Installing the update manually from here - http://www.adobe.com/support/dreamweaver/downloads_updaters.html
3. As suggested - removing the /AAMUpdater folder here - http://forums.adobe.com/thread/847350?start=0&tstart=0
4. Tried the "fix" link - http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/902/cpsid_90241.html - dead link
I am not going to reinstall CS5 because I can't get a fix, I'm not all together sold that THAT would fix the error either...
Anyone have an actual solution for this?
That was the post from me in November...
As of today, I've had the Adobe Application Updater run 3 times this morning, all with the same result.
I am on a Mac, 10.7.2 and am running CS5 - Dreamweaver runs fine there are no issues there, I have now 3 Adobe Application Manager updates in my tool bar... As soon as it runs again, I'll have 4...
Anyone have any answers that DON'T involve reinstalling Dreamweaver? -

Updater Adobe Bridge CS5 4.0.2 fails to install
Any ideas here...I keep getting a signal from Adobe Updater that my Adobe Bridge CS5 needs an update. Downloads CS5 4.0.2 ok...then the installation fails...no logging appears to occur of the problem. Has anyone dealt with this before, I cant seem to reach Adobe support.
iMac 24" 3.06GHzHi Donn,
You might also take a look at the following technical support document to see if it applies:

Downloaded the Bridge CS5 4.0.3 updates from Macupdate and Adobe Download Update site, and have installed it. The installation process went fine, and Adobe CS5 4.0.3.9 as shown in the About dialog, run fine.
However, when I hit "Updates" from Bridge CS5 Menu, the Adobe Auto Updater started and prompted me to upgrade to Adobe Bridge CS5 4.0.2.
Version 4.0.2 is the prior version on my Mac before applying the new upgrade to 4.0.3.
If I hit Update, Adobe Auto Updater will download Bridge CS5 4.0.2 and install fail.
I think 4.0.3 update is not yet integrated into Adobe Auto Updater.
Please fix this! Or I'm the only one who have this problem?FranNStein wrote:
… I can't believe that Adobe is ignoring this. There must be a fix for this problem...
You need to understand that Adobe is a huge, inefficient and unresponsive bureaucracy.
Not only are the engineering teams for the various applications in the creative suite in different cities but in different states. The installer and updater teams are also separate entities.
Even Adobe program managers have lamented publicly that the installers and updaters are a huge embarrassment to them. Privately, some of them regret that they can't say publicly what they would like to do to members of the installer and updater teams.
The false-positives have been showing up intermittently for many years. At other times, the updater fails to inform you of available updates, or the installation through the updater will fail or be incomplete.
As I said earlier, I just ignore the auto updaters and perform all my downloads and installs manually—for all my Adobe applications. I've been doing this for at least six years, possibly even longer, and I've never had a problem this way.

I just reinstalled Photoshop CS5 on my new replacement desktop processor. I tried to update it but kept getting the message to close Adobe Bridge CS5. It is closed. I've tried the following suggestions from the FAQs: (1) Went to Task Manager and confirmed that Adobe Bridge is closed. (2) Tried to go to Edit>Preferences>Advanced to tell PS not to load Bridge at launch. There is no Advanced and no check/uncheck capability. (3) Tried to download the 12.0.3 patch but can't find it anywhere in the downloads showing to me. HELP!
I finally found the answer to my question by continuing to search. Adobe Bridge was running in the background. To stop it, I had to go to Task Manager>Processes. Additionally, Edit>Preferences>Advanced was in Adobe Bridge -- not Photoshop. I'm all squared away.

When I try to download updates for CS5 I keep getting a message to close Adobe Bridge CS5
I installed CS5 last week and am having two problems: 1. When I try to download the current updates, I get a message telling me to close Adobe Bridge CS5 (Bridge.exe) 2. When I tried to uninstall CS3 I get the same message.
The problem is....Adobe Bridge is not open. How do I correct this problem?SG got it right. Terminate the Adobe process(es) and you'll be able to install.
I'm starting to wonder whether there's a systemic problem with Adobe CS5 processes hanging around after the apps are closed, though this could be unrelated to the problem I have where Photoshop itself hangs around.

I have Adobe Bridge CS5 Vers.4.00.529.Can I update directly to Vers. 4.5?? Or do I need to go step by step 4.1 to 4.2 ect.??
Add some blank-mp3s to the playlist. Note you can trim residual silence from the start or end of tracks using Get Info, Options tab, but if they weren't orignally sequential tracks ripped from a gapless album you may still have some disjoint between tracks 2 & 3.
