Adobe Bridge CS6 5.0.1 Update
Today, an update to Bridge CS6. And know what ? The bug preventing brdige starting on a user account in a domain network is still there !
Could we have an official word about that ?
I was running into the same problem after upgrading to CS6; the Temp folder of my Win7 PC is located on "D:" not on "C:", and I have no intention of changing that for a variety of reasons.
Creating a symbolic link from "C:\Temp" to "D:\Temp" from the command line (run as admin) using "mklink /D C:\Temp D:\Temp" along with changing the TMP and TEMP environment variables to point to "C:\Temp" seemed to do the trick for me.
Bridge no longer crashes on launch when run as a regular user and my temp folder still resides on D:\Temp. Happy camper. This does not absolve Adobe from fixing their problem, but in my opinion it is a far better work around than running Bridge as an admin.
Caveat: I have no idea if the symbolic link will cause any system-wide performance issues.

Adobe Bridge CS6 5.0.2 corrupt
Hi, I'm using PS CS6 and Bridge somehow got corrupted. Every time I would open it the images would pixelate and the program would crash, it was unusable. I uninstalled it and now I am unable to reinstall. When trying to install CS6 5.0.2 as an update I get this error message"Adobe Bridge CS6 5.0.2 Update Update is not applicable. Hi JJMack, thanks for your reply. It's a bit odd. When I download the app from Adobe and clicked on the installer I only see Adobe Patchinstaller and payloads. It's when I tried the patchinstaller which I don't think is correct, when I see a message that says "Update failed. Updates could not be applied. The error log may help you in identifying the problem." When I click on the error log I get this message which I copy and pasted and all digits are correct.

Because I un-installed the original version I'm sure that's why I can't update it because there is no version to update, but I cant find a downloadable version (CS6) that isn't CC related. Any advice?

Anything known on this issue? Solutions? Even importing files from memory card is a problem.
In import window images are not diplayed as images but all the same blue mini images.
vertical files are changed into landscape positions and more. Mac version.

Adobe Bridge CS6, Camera Raw
Hello,
I need urgently help.
I'm working on a MacBook Pro with Adobe Bridge CS6 since more than 1 year, using Camera Raw, v 8.6.0.254 without any problems.
Last month I bought a Mac Book Air and installed Photoshop Elements 12, Adobe Bridge CS6 and Photoshop CS6. But I'm still missing the possibility to open my pictures in Camera Raw.
After downloading the actual version 7.01 of Camera Raw from the website of Adobe.com and trying to install it I got the following error report:

Updates konnten nicht installiert werden. Dieser Path ist für Sie nicht geeignet.

What shall I do to get Camera Raw running?

Adobe Bridge CS6 on Retina Display
I just installed Photoshop CS6 Extended on a Retina Macbook Pro and updated Bridge, Camera Raw, and Photoshop with the latest updates. In Photoshop, everything looks crisp (including Camera Raw when opening it from Photoshop), but Bridge is still blurry. In addition, when opening Camera Raw from Bridge, everything is blurry. There are no updates available for Bridge/Photoshop/Camera Raw when I check for updates...any ideas on fixing this?

Adobe Camera Raw 8.3.0.141There is no such thing. In CS6 only PS itself is Retina compatible. You would have to use CC for full Retina support.

Camera Raw Preferences in Adobe Bridge CS6
I can click on Camera Raw Preferences from the Adobe CS6 Menu, but nothing happens. No error meesages come up, but nothing happens.
I recently installed ACR7.3. I did have some problems getting ACR7.3 installed. The updater from Photoshop and Bridge didn't seem to install it. I had to download ACR7 and install it.
After the successful install of ACR7.3, I can double click on an image in Adobe Bridge CS6 and it will open the raw image in ACR7.3 in Photoshop CS6.
The other annoyance is that the images for my RAW files for my Panasonci GH3 don't display in Adobe Bridge. They appear as a blank icon

I do have older versions of Adobe CS5 and CS4 that I have never removed. I've never had problems before. And didn't need the space so I just left them.

But when Adobe Bridge finally gives me control, the images have become blank icons again. I've tried the CommandOptionShift and it does not help. It was fine for two weeks and now I can't get the raw images to stay.

Can't see CR2 files in Adobe Bridge CS6
I have recently purchased Canon 5D Mark iii and have taken a few shots in RAW mode. When I try to open the file in Adobe Bridge CS6, I can't view the file.
I also have a canon T2i and the raw file from that camera show perfectly fine.
What could be the problem? All my CS6 software is up to date.Updated to ACR 8.4? There is an issue:

Adobe Bridge CS6 (Mac) won't open .arw files from my Sony RX100. I was told to update Camera Raw to at least 7.2. I tried to download this but got a DNG Converter instead. Where is Camera Raw? (it does not show up in a search of my hard drive. There is a folder of camera profiles but no extension or plug-in with this name). How do I find out what version I have already? How do I get the correct version? . . . OR . . . is it the case that Bridge will never open Sony raw files directly and I will have to do a separate conversion process every time I want to use a raw file??. Can someone explain this?

When using the camera downloader in Adobe Bridge CS6 with Nikon D5200 we are unable to see previews of the photos and it is very slow to download. The issue occurs under a the users rights, but not under admin level. This is a new issue.

Lync client gets user photos by first querying the Address Book Web Query (ABWQ) service on the server, which is exposed through the Distribution List Expansion web service. The client receives
the image file and then copies it to the user's cache to avoid downloading the image each time it needs to be displayed. The attribute values returned from the query are also stored in the cached Address Book Service entry for the user. The Address Book Service
deletes all cached images every 24 hours, which means that it can take up to 24 hours for new user images to be updated in the cache on the server.
To troubleshoot your problem, please follow the steps below:
1. Navigate to
“X:\share\1-WebServices-1\ABfiles\000000000\000000000” folder. (ABS file share)
You should see some photo files in this folder as the following screenshot.
2. Delete all the files in this folder.
3. On test PC, delete local cache files.

4. Sign-in Lync with the test account.
5. Go back to the ABS file share, check if there is any Photo file in the folder.

Adobe Bridge CS6 Mac cannot be launched
Dear Adobe community!
I just installed my brand new CS6 Design & Web Premium Suite on my MacBook Pro running OS X 10.8.3 and installed all of the available CS6 updates.
Unfortunately I cannot launch Bridge (version 5.0.2.4) from my account (admin privileges) - after double clicking the icon the application window shows up for just a fraction of a second and I receive a pop-up window saying something like "operation could not be completed successfully" (I am running a German language version).
- Trying to start Bridge from PS results in the same error mesage.
- Trashing the Bridge preference file did not change anything.
- Starting Bridge with the option key pressed and forcing reset of all parameters to default does not change anything.
- Booting my Mac into safe mode (pressing shift key on startup) does not help.
But creating a new user on my single-user Mac allows to launch Bridge when logged in to that new account.
I'd be more than happy to receive some helpful coments from the experts around here!
OliverUpdate - problem finally solved!
What happened in between:
I started a chat session with one of the Adobe support guys. He said that the cause for the malfunction was most likely a conflict with permissions.
After I told him that I had tried to repair permissions several times by Apple's Disk Utility without success he suggested me to copy the following file / directory from my newly generated "Test" user (under whom Bridge could be launched effortlessly):
[username]/Library/Preferences/com.adobe.bridge5.0.plist
and the whole directoy
[username]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Bridge CS6
If that would not resolve my problem there was no other "cure" for my problem because of an irreparable permission conflict.
After that I logged in under the new user "Test" and copied the mentioned files / directoy to a separate drive, logged in back as my standard user (the account where Bridge refused to start) and overwrote the files I had just exported before.
Result: Same problems - Bridge refused to start as before.
Dang...
So there is no way to solve this problem like Adobe said?
Presuming that the pending permission problem was the cause for my Bridge-issue I decided to "force" permissions:
I went to OS X Finder, marked the home directoy of my problematic account, typed cmd + I to open the info window, went to the bottom section where permissions are listed, wnet to the user group "admin" and marked this group as "read and write" (it was read only before!) and chose the option to apply theses settings to all of the sub-directories and files (icon with the gear-wheel).
After the changes where applied I restarted my Mac and logged in as my standard user and opened Bridge:
Bridge started but showed the sub-directories of my "Test" account. So I shut down Bridge, deleted the com.adobe.bridge5.0.plist file from my standard account, rebooted my Mac - and voilà - Bridge works like a charme!
FInally I wouldn't say that there was no "plan B"...
Maybe this workaround can be helpful for someone out there!

Adobe Bridge CS6 keeps zooming into previews
Hi guys. I'm using Adobe Bridge CS6 to browse some media content, but each time I preview a video, it plays zoomed in about 20% or so. It does this for all video clips, all sizes, no matter how I try to reconfigure the layout, use OUTPUT mode, FILMSTRIP mode, ESSENTIALS etc, it still shows zoomed in.
I'm running Win7 64bit with a GTX570 with updated drivers.

Use the loupe on an image and check what the default zoom percentage is, it should show 100 % and if it is at 200 % you have to use your mouse scroll wheel to set it back to 100 % (it runs from 100 % to 200, 400 and 800 %).
If your video files exceed the preview window you have to enlarge this window or if the behavior keeps this way consider to reset the preferences of Bridge holding down control key while restarting Bridge and choose reset prefs. -

Adobe Bridge CS6 - Contact.pdf document?
Hi There,
I am using Adobe Bridge CS6 and am attempting to create a multi photograph contact.pdf sheet to upload to a web site. The tutorial instructs me to select the pictures - done, then window - workspace and output. However once I get to that point there is no facility for output. The tutorial does sugest that if output is not diplayed, then to go to Ctrl. K and select it from the start up script. Guess what! Nothing there to help me.
Any one got any ideas please?First try a restart of Bridge holding down control key and from the menu choose reset preferences.
Try again. If no luck double check in Bridge preferences start up scripts. Inhere should be a script called Adobe Output Module and it should have a checkmark in front.
If no start up script at all consider first to check for latest updates and maybe un install of Photoshop CS6 (includes Bridge CS 6) using the official uninstaller in PSCS6 and a reinstall.
Be sure to have your serial number at hand and back up important settings for security. When you don't select to remove the photoshop settings file it should reinstall with your same custom settings. Then run the updater and try again. -
FLVs created with ADOBE MEDIA ENCODER CS6 do not display thumbnails in ADOBE BRIDGE CS6
Could you please attempt to shed some light on why FLVs created with ADOBE MEDIA ENCODER CS6 do not display thumbnails in ADOBE BRIDGE CS6, yet apple finder is able to display thumbnails for these same FLVs without issue?
I'm running CS6 Production Premium with ALL updates installed on 10.6.8
I appreciate any input and help provided the input is provided by someone who either
A) knows the answer because they actually work for adobe
B) actually tried this themselves before attempting to provide a solution
If the conclusion is that it is a codec issue or a header issue with the FLVs You'd have to present a very strong case to back that claim up as it makes no sense whatsoever that CS6 is unable to generate thumbnails for media encoded using CS6, yet Apple finder can without issue. NOT to mention the FLVs in question are CREATED on the same machine with the same codecs installed that is trying to generate previews in Bridge.
Apologies if my frustration is showing, I've gotten and seen several... incompetent replies on this forum regarding this issue and it has never been actually addressed properly as far as I can tell by Adobe support.We are all just incompetent users here. As pointed out before this is just a user to user forum, Adobe rarely checks in.
I was hoping by now you would have gotten to the bottom of this problem and were offering a solution.
