Adobe Cap 5.5 on Moodle - publish without SCORM, with .swf files

Hi,
My agency is using Moodle as a training platform and I need to publish my captivate training files to Moodle.    We track training completion through assessment reports.   I upload two different Adobe Captivate 5.5 training files.
(1)   the training portion with .swf (Raptivity) interactivity
(2)   the assessment portion - published in SCORM
I am able to successfully publish the assessment portion of the Adobe Captivate 5.5 in SCORM to Moodle.     However I am unable to successfully publish the training file.
I do not need to publish the training portion in SCORM so am open to suggesions of the best method to get the training file with Raptivity .swf files working on Moodle.  When I publish the file it will work perfectly on our local network but does not work in Moodle.  I have tried publishing the training portion (1) with and without SCORM without success.
Thank you for your help.
Note:   Please see my post 4-12-11.   I was unable to list files in the imsmanifest.xml as suggested in the response - and wonder if someone could provide further detail/ support with this suggestion.   How do I add the other tags?   Would someone be able to provide a screen shot of these steps?     Thank you.
Sandra

In the dialog inside Captivate where you set up the path to find the video file.  By default, Captivate sets an absolute link, however, this path will be invalid if your video will be moved to another system (e.g. the LMS).  You have to alter the default path to make it a relative path.  The usual method is to copy the video file into the same publish folder as the Captivate SWF.  (By default, Captivate doesn't move your video file for you at publish time.)  If your FLV or F4V file is sitting in the same folder as your SWF, then you can just use the filename of the video file as your relative path when setting up the link in the dialog.
I also recommend you ONLY use lowercase filenames at all times for Captivate projects, including the published file and folders, and that you NEVER have spaces in files or folder names.  These precautions will eliminate many baffling link failures when projects are moved from a Windows development environment to another webserver environment.

  • Issue with publish settings: html and swf files

In Flash CS5.5 when selecting, Publish Settings: html and swf, the html file does not display the swf from the URL after ftp. The swf file, however, does display from the URL without the html file. My work around has been to hand code the html. Is this a known issue or is there something else that might be causing this to occur?

Here are two examples created by two different students in the same lab using the same software configurations:
    http://www.miszxbrii.byethost13.com/howellanimatic.html
The first frame of this one displays only.
    http://vaivadesigns.byethost3.com/YoungMidterm/YoungMidterm.html
Here it is again with a new html page:
    http://vaivadesigns.byethost3.com/YoungMidterm/midterm.html
The swf path was the documents folder and another folder on the HD.

  • Adobe presenter - work with swf file

I have a floder called Alpha.  In Alpha folder I have Flash folder where my "fla" and "swf" are placed.  I have subfolder called "uploaded"  in Flsh where I place all my XML files.  I call all my text in fla from xml files which are in "uploaded" folder.
In Adobe Presenter, I inserted, swf file which was in "Flash" folder but unable to see any text or animation. please suggest.

    I would probably assume that.
I would reccomend a presenter with a "joystick" type control.
The trackball type are a pain, and usually get gummed up like the
    old ps2 mice.
When I was in the navy, we had something similar to this for

  • (CP4) Publishing Problems - zipping a .swf file

    Hello... please help!
I have 3 presentations due in my LMS tomorrow. Each one has been imported from powerpoint. Each one includes .swf animations. Each one has a quiz with infinite attempts options and navigations buttons to restart presentation, take quiz again, or quit (for exampls).
Only one of these presentations is publishing properly (and working smoothly in the LMS).
The problem, when I publish a .swf and zip it, the .swf movie size is 0, and the question pool size is Huge. As a test I only have one quesion in my question pool. I've cross referenced the working file against the two that don't work and cannot find what I've done differently between them.
Anyone have any suggestions? The pressure is on and I am out of ideas.......... thank you
    Dexy

    Hello,
I do not understand why you do not let CP do the zipping while publishing? In the zip-file created by CP all the necessary files will be included. I could upload the zip to our LMS as a package and let it unzip by the LMS and start the HTML-file.
If you want reporting to the LMS (scoring of the quiz) you need a to publish to a SCORM-object, which is also a zipped file with all what is necessary.
So please, tell me why you want to zip yourself?

  • Captivate 7 - How to publish into a single swf file?

Our Authoring tool has been designed to cater for Captivat swf files for video uploads. Now that we have upgraded to Captivate 7 the swf - is merely a 'holden cache file' the video content is saved in the .mp4 file. Our programmer tells us that it will take some time to reprogramme this. Is there a way within the Captivate 7 publishing settings to still create a .swf file which will be able to stream the entire video content when uploaded or to generate a single swf file with all content?
Thank you so much! We are trying superfast to adapt to all the different changes and really appreciate you input.
    Peter

OK, only solution I've found is to use a 3rd party program - try cutePDF.
    Thanks for nothing HP!

  • Can I publish Indesign docs to Ipad with SWF files included?

Thinking about buying Adobe CC at $50 a month. My immediate desire is to turn my website http://www.VisionSimulations.com into an iPad app. The site is built around SWF's created in Swish. Can Indesign include these SWFs in documents, and published them to the iPad?   I don't mean with a ton of hard coding, either.
Also, I might put a forum at my website. Can InDesign include something like a iFrame in my document, so that people can view my forum through the app?
    Thanks!
    Roger

    Moved to DPS forum.
    No. SWF is completely unsupported.
Yes, you can use a web content overlay to show the website, but before you embark on this you should most certainly get yourself familiar not only with DPS but with Apple's requirements for apps submitted to them.

  • Adobe Update Ran, Now PP CS4 No Longer Works with MPEG Files & More....

I think I know what this is but I thought I would make sure.
(Running CS4 Master Suite in Windows 7 Home Premium with 16GB Ram, i970 processor and six short stroked drives for cache, files, etc.)
Last night Adobe Updater popped up and wanted to do some installs. I had already been editing a project usine PrPro and AE for several hours so called it a night and initiated updater. This morning PrPro no longer recognizes my MPEG source files! Niether does AE or ME. In PrPro it hangs on "conforming." Did I get hit with the Revert to Trial bug? Could it be something else?
What I have done: cleared all cache files, rebooted, checked cache settings, rebooted, wiped deleted cache files, rebooted, cursed.

    Welcome to the forum.
Sounds like the Revert to Trial Bug. See this ARTICLE for details and the fix.
    Good luck,

  • Working with .swf files in Adobe Connect

My goal is to load custom made flash (.swf) presentations into Adobe Connect and present them to an audience (not using presenter)- however I am encountering the following issues:
    1. The sound within the .swfs will not play (sounds works fine everywhere else, and was tested via the Audio setup wizard).
    2. Many of the features within the loaded .swf do not work - sometimes causing runtime errors - does certain as3 code not work in the Adobe Connect environment?
    3. "Synchronized Navigation" in the Shared Pod option menu is grayed out - I can not synchronize flash content? How can I control the presentation?
Thank you in advance for any guidance you can offer.

Connect is an AS2 applicaton, and therefore, AS3 SWFs will not work (or not work properly).
If you want to correctly build an application to work in a Connect pod you need to follow the rules in the Collaboration builder, SDK documentation. This has not changed since Connect 6, thus the older version refference.

  • One of Adobe's best kept secrets: Audition Content Download! (With Soundbooth Files?)

I just learned about this yesterday from the cutting edge tour - that with audition you get tons of royalty free sound effects and audio clips.  I never knew that, but to me that should be advertised a bit more!
Anyhow, as I'm downloading these, I noticed the section called "Soundbooth Scores".  In those folders, there are .SBST files, which I learned are soundbooth files (I've never used soundbooth) .  This leaves me a bit perplexed since soundbooth is discontinued, and when I open them in Audition, I just get a waveform file.  Is that how it's supposed to open?  If so why not simply have a .wav file instead of the .SBST files?  Really cool stuff, just a bit confused if it's supposed to open some sort of multitrack project and I'm not doing it right?
    Thanks!
(And thanks Adobe for the files!!)

Thanks!  Great to hear you enjoyed Adam's workshop tour!
Indeed, the additional content in Audition and Soundbooth has suffered from shifting tides in technology.  Audition itself, when it shipped on shiny disks, came with Loopology, an amazing collection of instrument loops and music beds recorded by Adobe Evangelist and long-haired musician, Jason Levine.  Later, when Soundbooth was the audio application in the Creative Suite, an in-app panel called Resource Central provided access to our collection of around 12,000+ sound effects and Soundbooth Scores - dynamic music projects which could intelligently recompose themselves based on duration and parameters, and offered some limited mixing options.
Around the time Soundbooth was discontinued, the Resource Central servers were as well as it was based upon Flash and some legacy server backends that were being retired.  To ensure users still had access to all this royalty-free content, it was moved to a download page on adobe.com and linked to in the application menu.
I have been in the process of creating a much nicer landing page for accessing this content, as well as fixing a few issues with the Soundbooth Scores bundles.  Expect some news about this very soon.
Edit:  Oh!  As for your question about Scores in Audition, the Score projects themselves were a proprietary SBST file, which contained the sequence details for the composition, and an Assets folder, which contains the loops and clips used to make up the overall song.  While Audition doesn't currently support SBSTs or Scores in general, you could conceivably re-arrange the assets to build compositions.  SBSTs ARE supported in Premiere Elements since 2013, I believe.
    Have a great day!

  • Is there a way for converting WCF service into Azure Cloud Service without dealing with project files.

    Here is my situation.
We provide Platform and SDK to other people where they can build WCF services and deploy that on site. We have a  many ISVs who has built wcf services, packaged them and ship them.
Packaging consist of couple of manifest file and .dll file that make up wcf service. Now we want to go on cloud with our platform.
Long story short - I have all the dlls for my wcf service but no project file.
Is there a way to generate cloud service package from this dll files?

    Hi,
You can't simply package your dlls and deploy it as a azure cloud service deployment package - you will need to have your project as well as service definition file which will define your role and instances.
You can read more about packaging an Application by Using the CSPack Command-Line Tool here -http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/azure/gg433133.aspx
another way to go to cloud platform is by making use of azure web sites, however you will still need your service files do deploy.
If you have the dlls and the service files with you - then you can simply use the web site publish wizard and deploy to azure web site.
Read more about it here - http://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/articles/web-sites-deploy/

  • How to use Adobe Flash Player with .swf files?

    Hey,
I have a .swf file that I'am trying to open but it seems that I can't. Is there any way that I can use Flash Player to do so?
The .swf I'm trying to open is a game, when i right-click on it and i click on Open With, I don't see Flash Player as one of the options.
Can you help me please? Thanks alot!!!

There IS a standalone Flash Player but is's part of Flash Professional. You'd need to purchase it (or download a 30 day trial, but I don't know if the Flash Player would keep working after the trial expires).

  • Not able to publish project as a single swf File

    Hello Captivate experts.
I have a problem publishing only one swf file with Captivate.
My project consists of three slides. The first one is a introduction Slide, the second and the third one only contain one swf  each (swf that i also created with captivate).
These files are the files who always get published together with the main .swf. So after publishing I got three swfs instead of only one
I know that a topic like this has been discussed, especially because of the new feature of Captivate 4 wich allows to export only one file, but so far i haven't read anything about swf files that can not be included. (I only found that flash video can not be inserted into a single swf).
I realized that this problem only occurs with swf files created with captivate. Swf files created with Flash don't result in a septerated file.
Did anybody have this problem before? Does anyone know a workaround?
    Thanks in advance
    captiware

    HI Captiware,
When you insert a swf, which was created from Captivate, as animation into Captivate and publish => the swfs are kept external. This is by design.
