Adobe Captivate 6 - Version 6.0.1.240

I have many courses buill in captivate, since the update to version 6.0.1.240 when i load into a course all of the text from the courses does not appear.
Now the strange thing is that when i click on the text/rollover/questions the text reappears, i tried to save the docuement after making the text appear and it goes again next time i load?
Has anyone had a similar experience?

Anytime you update Captivate, even if it's just to install a bugfix or patch, you should always kill the Preferences folder.

Adobe Captivate 6 Error when publishing

Help! I having trouble publishing a training that my employees can view. When they open the project they are getting the first image here that is essentially blank. I have attempted to reduce the size and save to different folders etc. but nothing seems to work.

Which version of Adobe Reader or Acrobat are they using? Adobe Reader XI
Can you publish this locally on your system (not to network drive directly), check force republish option also, and are you able to view it on your end? I can pull up the file from my computer that is saved in the same drive that the agents are attempting to pull up. But, I am not sure if it is viewing for me because I have it on my system.

How to Control the "tab order" in Adobe Captivate 8?

Hi Guys,
I was just trying to insert "tab order" to the module that I am creating using Adobe Captivate Version 8. I was not able to insert the tab order feature when I switched to the responsive project mode (project for Destop, Tablet, and Mobile).
Kindly guide me to insert tab order. I have checked all the online resources but was not able to find the relevant steps to create "tab order" in Captivate 8.

Hi,
You can set the Tab order for Interactive objects from the Properties panel:
This will open a dialog where you can arrange the order for all the interactive objects on your slide.

Using Adobe Captivate 6, how can I replicate the PPt text animations wherein I can float in timed?

Using Adobe Captivate version 6.0, I want to be able to do what I always could in PowerPoint - in a bulleted list, cause each bullet to float (or other animation) into place, establish a timing for each line.

To do this in Captivate, you need each bullet to be a separate text caption. You can then apply fly-in effects and time them to coincide with the voiceover. There's no way to make the bullets fly separately in if they are all in the same text caption.

Capture User Information from Adobe Captivate Quiz

I created an Adobe Captivate (version 5.5) interactive training, which includes a 10 question quiz. Unfortunately I can't seem to figure out the best way to get the user to submit their name, location, and email along with the quiz. Without this I just seem to be getting the quiz results without any identifying information. I tried adding a "short answer" slide, but then I seem to have to create several of those slides just to get one piece of identifying information at a time. Is there an easy way to get the user's identifying information on a particular slide before they submit their results?
(As a side note I'm having a tough time even getting the Post Results working in the first place. But I'm thinking it might be better to ask that as a separate question since it's not necessarily related to this one.)

Any alternative webserver to WAMP that works with Adobe Captivate?

We are using Adobe Captivate version 5.5 with an internal website using WAMP 2.1. Recently our ISO found that WAMP's php/apache version is outdated, and require a upgrade, but I checked that even the most recent version of WAMP's version 2.2, its php/apache version is still below our ISO requirement of 5.3.15. I did not find any discussion in Adobe Captivate talking about an alternative webserver to WAMP, is there another option exist? If so, what are the steps to make it work with Adobe Captivate? Thank you...

I have only set up IIS servers on Microsoft Server operating systems, but there is apparently a way to do it in Windows 7 (http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/how-to-install-iis-on-windows-vista/ ). However I have never tried this so I don't know if there are any limitations with IIS running on a desktop operating system as opposed to a server operating system.
If you have an existing server running Microsoft Server 2003 - 2012 then you can simply enable the IIS on these and follow the relatively easy wizard to get it up an running.

Hello. I have Adobe Captivate 6 and wanting to upgrade. How can I upgrade to the new Captivate 8 since I do not have 7 or access to 7? Doesn't make since I'd have to buy another full version opposed to simply upgrading what I have. Please help.

How can I upgrade Adobe Captivate 6 without purchasing the full version of the new Captivate 8?
I'm told that the window of opportunity to upgrade to 7 was short and now that 8 is out i cannot leap from 6 to 8. Doesn't make since that I'd have to buy a full version of a program I already own.
Can anyone help me with a simple upgrade possibility?

It stinks that there isn't an upgrade option from 6, but it's due to the new subscription option for Captivate which actually ends up being far cheaper for you in the long run. Captivate 7 came out a little over a year ago the upgrade for that was the same as the 7 to 8 upgrade. As the upgrade is $400 and a subscription is only $20 per month, or $240 for a year, you'll end up saving money should the next upgrade come out in another year.

Captivate Six version 6.0.1.240 Updates not working.

Currently using a client's machine to complete a project. They are not a subscription customer but still surely released patches should work for all clients. Below are the issues encountered:
Most of the Stability items on patch for 240 that we’re already on don’t work properly
Stability
•Occasionally Adobe Captivate crashes when multiple projects are open and the library is clicked just after switching between projects. – Occasionally?? More like almost every time
•The Adobe Captivate menu becomes unresponsive at times. When you click a menu option, the option is not called. But, when Adobe Captivate is closed, the menu operation you called is carried out. This happens a lot
•Adobe Captivate workspace gets corrupted occasionally. As a result, Property Inspector and other panels do not get displayed in the workspace.
•Occasionally Adobe Captivate hangs while saving a project. This behavior is observed in all operations that involve progress bars. The progress bar gets stuck at zero percent and the operation is not completed. This happens a lot
•In some scenarios, Adobe Captivate crashes when you select multiple smart shapes and then try to resize them.
•Adobe Captivate crashes at the end of 'Additional Recording' if the project theme does not contain the Blank master slide

Adobe Captivate will not open open within Presenter (Trial version)...

Hello,
I am a subscriber to Adobe Captivate 6 and am in the middle of a 30 day trial of Adobe Presenter. I use Windows 7 Enterprise and have the the 64 bit version of Adobe Captivate 6. I also use Power Point 2007.
I cannot do a software simulation within Adobe Presenter. When I try, I get the error message that Adobe Captivate cannot be started ....
Can anyone help?

Regarding this issue error message "(keine Rückmeldung)" / No Response as it's creating the swf file...
It should display the preview window after sometimes. Please wait for sometimes, if No Response text comes. This issue is normally caused due to system load or performance issue. You may face similar issue while publishing, please wait for sometime, till publish finishes.
Regarding this issue.Fatal error in Power Point with Adobe Presenter add-in. If you have seen this error several times, you should deactivate the Add-In and check to see if an update is available. Would you like to deactivate the add-In?
Do you face this issue always? This issue normally arises due to faulty presenter installation or Windows 7 SP1 not installed. This error message doesn't hinder with normal Presenter functioning. If you choose to disable it from this error dialog, then you have to enable it again as per the above steps.

Adobe Captivate 6 activated but acts as a trial version?

Although activated, my Adobe Captivate 6 (eLearning Suite 6.1) acts as a trial version in a sense that Project Expiry Date is disabled and all my project expire after one month.
If I go to Help, the active option is: 'Deactivate....' so there is no way to sort this out by any means available in the application itself.
There is probably a similar behaviour in other elearning suite applications, but I am using only Captivate so I wouldn't know whether that is the case.
My PC is on the corporate network, the eLearning Suite 6.1 is installed only on my PC and I don't have the admin rights.
Is there an option to check the activation status and/or somehow reactivate it again, as it is really annoying to re-publish and upload to company's web portal e-learning files every month.

I am getting an Exit Code 7 error when installing a trial version of Adobe Captivate 5 on an XP SP3 32bit laptop.
I have the install logs (i've tried installing a couple of times) but i can't see how to attach the files in this window.
Can you help me please?

There can be many possible reasons for this Error.
Could be a possibility Microsoft_v80_CRX .msi is not getting installed or due to Error 1612

perhaps text to speech engine converts alphabet letter into voice, so I tried to change Japanese letter into conversion , after converted there was no reaction, but I put an English letter and converted , English voice was occurered.

The text to speech functionality in Captivate only supports English at this moment. More languages will come later but I don't know when Japanese will be available.

Can't download a trial version of Adobe Captivate

I am in Canada and I am trying to download a trial version of Adobe Captivate. However, I can't even get to the download button, because the trial request form offers only United States as a country option and I get a submission error when I try to proceed (incorrect address). Is this download available for US residents only?
