Adobe Captivate 8 - How to Assign Custom Shortcut Key

I want to switch between the Film Strip view and the Master Slide view quickly. To show/hide the Film Strip there is a default shortcut key CTRL+ALT+B. For the Master Slide there is none.
Is there a way to assign a custom shortcut key to toggle Master Slide view?

I wonder why the lack of support for custom shortcuts keys does NOT surprise me. In overall, shortcut keys are typical and always required in expert applications.
Anyway, thanks for the tip. I noticed that keeping a number of panels ON slows down the performance so toggling between them ad-hoc might mitigate users frustration.
Again...fruit for thought.

Hello all.
I discovered in the latest OS, I am not able to customize my Action Shortcut Keys inside Adobe Photoshop CS4 because the "Universal Shortcut Keys" were "in the way"...; I used to able to do this with CS3 and Tiger.
Let me illustrate:
- In the new OS and the new keyboards: F1 is the Brightness Adjustment (Dimmer), and F4 is Dashboard (Launch)
- In the older OS and CS3, I was able to create within, Action Shortcut Keys so that F1 I can create a Layer Mask and F4 I can delete a layer
- In the new environment, whenever I press the F keys, the 'Universal Shortcuts' take priority.
*How do I disable these Universal Shortcuts so that I can create customize shortcut keys?*

Thanks for the reply! Yeap this is what I am looking for, but unfortunately, or rather, I wish I can still have control over the volume keys somehow, because we work in an open environment, and sometimes we use headphones, sometimes we unplug to let our supervisor see and hear the work (by the way I am in the motion graphics business) So we constantly have to control the volume of the speakers.
Well, I'll just have to put the Sound Control on the Menu Bar

There are multiple ways to do similar things. One, built into the system, is to use text replacement. See:

There are other programs you can buy that can do the job in different ways, such as TextExpander. You could also just create a clipping file by dragging your e-mail address to somewhere like the desktop, and then you can simply drag that file to wherever you like to insert your e-mail address there.

Are you trying to have the table where the lines are always be the same size no matter how many lines are present?
If so, you some choices:
1) If your lines are always the same height, you might get some ideas on what to do from this article:

2) If your lines vary in height, then you should look into a PDF template. This will give you a pre-printed stationary look in which the drawing of boxes and lines is not affected by the data content.
3) Other less attractive options are a) making the report in XSL-FO, and b) making a bitmapped RDF report
There is currently no solution that I am aware of for a pre-printed stationary look using an RTF template in which the data lines are of variable height.

You understanding is correct. But,it is not even necessary to show the correct sources on correct targets along with the feedback... the correct option numbers in incorrect feedback will do.
reg point number 3, if I revisit the slide, the feedback are still displayed. For example, in this case, I added a correct feedback, but when I revisit the slide, the feedback was still appearing. So I added this action "On Enter" to "Hide" this success caption. So that is why i told specifically that none of the feed backs should be there when i revisit the slide.

Raynman was asking about what desktop environment you use in archlinux. It is clear what you want to do, but the answer to your question depends on which Desktop Environment (like Gnome, KDE, XFCE, etc) or Window Manager you are using.

Login Screen, custom shortcut keys possible?

I'd like to create a keyboard shortcut to "lock the screen" (login screen). I read through the helpfile and it's not clear this is possible.
I'd like, for example to do Apple-L to get that to work.

Based on your recommendation, I did some research on QuicKeys and also found another, similar program iKey (http://www.scriptsoftware.com/ikey/). I downloaded trial versions of both, and found iKey easier to manage. Plus it was cheaper ($30 versus 79.95). I was able to assign shortcut keys using modifiers (alt, cmd, ctl) and the keys that Apple won't let you assign via Keyboard preferences (home, end, forward delete, arrows). I even set up some customized menus or more complex actions (automate) with shortcut key triggers (e.g., creating a footer and inserting a file name and path in a word document with two keystrokes; opening itunes finding a radio station and begin streaming it live with two keystrokes). I'm sure that some of this can be done with automater or applescripts, but since I'm new to apple, I'm happy to start with this.
iKey does have one annoying feature that I discovered -- you can set keyboard shortcuts to operate in different contexts (e.g., Finder front, Safari not running) but you cannot use the same keyboard shortcut to launch different actions in mutually exclusive contexts.
By the way, I called Apple support about this question before I started playing with either of the programs. The person I talked to made a special call over to the OS X division and confirmed that forward delete cannot be assigned in user-defined keyboard shortcuts -- "yet." No one was clear if this capability might be developed in the future.

Does anybody know if it's possible to get the focus to a Java application, when it is not selected, using a keyboard shortcut key?
I've written a java application that provides shortcuts keys (like CTRL-M...) for accessing to some operations. For using those keys combinations my application has to be focused between the other opened applications on the operating system (Linux 7.3), as it should be in a normal behaviour... but, I would need that the operation associated to the shortcut key could be executed even if another application had the focus...
Is it possible? How this could be done?

Unfortunately shortcuts will work only if your app is focused.

That you can do it if you select
Recording routine as <u>Standard recording routine</u> under table maintainance generator.
But in my case the table has been created with <u>no,or user,recording routine</u> option and updated all records in dev system.
So its not possible at this point of time.

You do not say what OS X you are running. If it is 10.8.3 you simply can have Mail a 4-finger swipe away.
No short key neccessary?

For example using "option + command + Control+P" to go to "picture" folder.
but cant do it in Mountain Lion

To define keyboard shortcuts use the keyboard Preferences > Shortcuts panel in the Preferences.
Create an Automatotor service, to open the folder you want,
Install that service in your User Library "Services" folder (for example named "OpenPicturesFolder)
Then bind that service to the keycombination you want.
A simple service to open the "Pictures" folder could look like this:
First, an action "Get Specified Finder Items" to select the "Pictures" folder,
Then "Open Finder Items" to open that folder.
You do not need to create a service, if there are already menu commands that do what yu want. Then simply bind the menu command to the key combination.
