Adobe Captivate license exceeded maximum number of machines

Hi,
My machine was updated from Win XP to Win 7 and it seems the Adobe Captivate license from the old version was not deactivated. I am trying to install the application now that I have Win 7 but I am receiving an message that says the license has exceeded the maximum number of users/machine. I tried clicking the option that says "I already deactivated the application from the other machine." but it does not work.
Let me know what I can do to activate the license.

500?? What are there so many files?
The problem is that the CAB format only allows for 300 files maximum, so there's nothing that we can do about that I'm afraid.

You understanding is correct. But,it is not even necessary to show the correct sources on correct targets along with the feedback... the correct option numbers in incorrect feedback will do.
reg point number 3, if I revisit the slide, the feedback are still displayed. For example, in this case, I added a correct feedback, but when I revisit the slide, the feedback was still appearing. So I added this action "On Enter" to "Hide" this success caption. So that is why i told specifically that none of the feed backs should be there when i revisit the slide.

Adobe Captivate Licenses

I would like to purchase an Adobe Captivate Educational license but I don't know whether to purchase for a Mac or PC since I use both systems.
The license agreement says you can use one license on a work and or a home/portable computer. Does this mean I could use the same license on a PC and a Mac or do I have to purchase 2 different licenses? I'm not sure I can afford to but 2 licenses.

Yes you are correct you will have to purchase two different licenses if you want to use on both .
However if you want you can purchase it as a subscription and it will cost you $29.99 per month and you can use on both of your computers .
But As per EULA the other condition remains the same that both the computers need to be of the same user and they should not be used at the same time.

I am trying to install the trial version of Adobe Captivate 8 on a Windows 7 machine.

The installer says open file "Captivate_8_x64LS21.exe" It then extracts files but gives me an error message "problem occurred extracting some files. Check available space and the write privileges on the destination folder." Neither of those should be a problem. I have 55 gigs of space and I am the administrator for my home computer. Can someone help?

How can I uninstall Captivate license from a computer I am not using?

I work at Tenaris and they have changed my computer installing Captivate on this one. Apparently license is also still on the old computer I am not using anymore, so a message about the license is appearing me, telling me that i will not be able to use it in 15 days.
How can I solve this? Can I remove the license using only this computer, from the other one? Please consider that I do not have access to the old computer.

Opp Sys: HP-UX
I've just increased the size of an XSD we have loaded in a customers database and attempting to reload using dbms_xmlschema.registerschema gives the following error:
ORA-31084: error while creating table "SOLO"."LetterRoot5799_TAB" for element "LetterRoot"
ORA-01792: maximum number of columns in a table or view is 1000
ORA-02310: exceeded maximum number of allowable columns in table
ORA-06512: at "XDB.DBMS_XMLSCHEMA_INT", line 0

Hi! I faced the same problem as author of a thread. At first it was just the same and I used solution that was offered - add attribute xdb:SQLInline="false".
But now this error (ORA-01792: maximum number of columns in a table or view is 1000) became to rise on element that doesn't have a lot of attributes or subelements that coul exceed limit of 1000! Moreover it is based on complex type that already exists! It was created during another schema registration, which is included in schema that I'm trying to register now!
Does anyone challenged this problem?

The maximum number of files already open....

I just started getting a message in adobe reader 9, The maximum number of files are already open. No other files can be open or printed until some are closed. I only have 1 file open. Any suggestions other than getting rid of Adobe!

Try a search of the forum. I faintly remember such a thing being brought up before in the last month or two.

Adobe Captivate indicates the activate number is already use by an another PC .
In fact, the first PC was formatting.

Adobe Captivate 3 Serial Number/Windows 7 Problem

Wonder if anyone on here could help me. We have a volume license for Adobe Captivate 3 and it is installed and working fine on several XP machines. However when I try and install the same software, with the same serial number that has been accepted everywhere else, but on a Windows 7 machine, it no longer see's the serial number as valid...

Sorry, but I'm not clear on what you want to know. Are you asking if moving to 5 from 3 is considered an upgrade and therefore qualifies for upgrade pricing from Adobe? If so, you will need to ask Adobe Sales on that. If you are asking about how to go about upgrading a Captivate 3 project so it becomes a Captivate 5 project, it's pretty tough to accomplish.
First you have to open Captivate 5.
Once Captivate 5 is open you open the Captivate 3 project.
The Captivate 3 project is converted to a Captivate 5 project.

In theory there is no limit, though in practice the performance once
it is in the tens of thousands of pages becomes poor.

ORA-00020: maximum number of processes (%s) exceeded

nobody was able to log into the database. when I tried 'sqlplus / as sysdba' I got : ORA-00020: maximum number of processes 1000 exceeded
database is 11.2.0.2 with patch 12
I've bounced the database and increased the processes..
my question is.. is there a way to tell what the processes were? what machine they were coming from? in a log somewhere..
Since I was unable to log in, I couldn't tell what had happened.. who was causing it..
if it happens again.. is there a way to log it?
also, this machine has DataGuard to a standby system.. is it possible for something to go wrong with dataguard and cause this?

You have only treated the symptom and not fixed the cause. As fellow members said, you could kill some "non-critical" processes and log in to the database.
But you will have to find out why there were so many processes in place. I am sure you might have set the definite number of processes after your planning before you went live. If you suddenly see too many processes, you will have to find out why and where they are coming from. Also check if there are any rogue processes.
To find out if there are any processes which have no sessions attached
select spid from v$process where addr not in (select paddr from v$session);
To answer your question, data guard shouldn't be affected by this. Nor would dataguard cause this issue in primary.
Fix this processes issue before it's too late. Otherwise, there will be a situation when you will have to keep increasing the processes until you hit the OS limit
