Adobe Captivate with APEX

Hi,
I've been told that someone has created a Quiz using Captivate which is to be put online. I was wondering if it's possible to incorporate the quiz into an APEX page and for the users selections to be stored within a table in APEX? Anyone done this? Is there a useful guide anywhere?
Thanks for any help.
Mike

  • How to integrate adobe flash widgets from Adobe captivate with Adobe Presenter?

    Hi all,
We are a group of students who are creating a number of flash widgets that allows them to create e-learning  activities. We are creating specific widgets in Flash  for use in Captivate and then the results of the widgets in Adobe Presenter. The  client noticed that widgets that work in Adobe Captivate don't always work in  Adobe Presenter. Is there a way to make this function  correctly?
Secondly, if it  isn't possible to make that work correctly through the first method, is it  possible to utilise Adobe Air to do the same or similar process. The client  would prefer if we could integrate anything we use with an LMS and SCORM. But we  believe it may not be possible to do this with Adobe Air.
Would someone be able to help us out with this?
    Thanx

Some of the functionalities of CP4 (I assume that you use this version?) only work in a CP-published SWF, p.e. using the right mouse click as a trigger. I have inserted several CP-SWF's into Adobe Presenter, while using some of the widgets provided with CP4 and did not have any problems with these (p.e. Flash button). But I do not know what kind of widgets you created. Do they function all right in CP4 itself?

  • How difference between Adobe captivate with Adobe captivate authoring tools

I just confused coz I cant edit the widget via captivate 7. Some expertise said I need to have Captivate authoring tool to edit and modify the widget.
PS. while I clicked on the aidget the library present a link to SWF file.

You do not need any add on to install the widget. The widgets are installed when you install Captivate.
Captivate widgets are created in Flash. If you know Flash and ActionScript, you can create one of your own. The Flash source files of the existing widgets are at:
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 7 x64\Gallery\Widgets\Source

  • Adobe Captivate 4 - Flash Not Installed Error

We are using Adobe Captivate 4 on Windows 7.  Since the Microsoft Windows Updates around January 8, we are unable to open Adobe Captivate 4.  We get the message that the Flash Player is to be installed and the application shuts down after the message that an Internet connection is required.  I have followed the steps on the Adobe Help page:  Error: "Adobe Flash Player is not currently installed" when you start Adobe Captivate with no success.  I have even uninstalled Adobe Captivate 4, reinstalled it and followed the instructions on the aforementioned Help page.  No luck.  I am running Firefox and Internet Explorer and IE is the default browser.  Adobe Captivate 4 acts as though it cannot connect to the Adobe Flash website, but I already have the most current Flash Player installed.  We use Adobe Captivate 4 primarily for Quizzes since we can effectively e-mail the results to trainers. We do have Adobe Captivate 7 and the Quiz Results e-mail feature does not send the results; only a blank e-mail shell.  Is there any solution to this Captivate 4 problem?

Unfortunately, that is not an option.   I work for a state government and the computers are locked down for security reasons.  Updates are handled by an IT group and pushed out to all state computers.  We were running Flash Player 10 and everything worked fine until the Flash Player Update was pushed out as a Microsoft Update on January 8th.  There have been subsequent "Security Updates" to the Flash Player pushed out via Microsoft and none have corrected the problem.  Even if I could uninstall the current Flash Player and install an older version, it would just be updated to the current Flash Player tonight.

  • Using Captivate with a localized user interface

    Summary:
I'm working on an Adobe Captivate 2 project describing an
application that has been created in several languages.
I'm trying to follow the Captivate 2 help topic "Using Adobe
Captivate with a localized user interface", to create localized
movies for each language, but it does not work as described in the
    help topic.
Can anyone help me with this problem, see below "What went
    wrong?"
    Steps to reproduce:
    According to the help topic:
    1. Record a source langauge file from the application (in my
    case swedish).
    2. Export the text captions to a Word document "Export
project captions and closed captions", and translate the text (into
    english).
    3. Record a new language file from the application, without
    any automatically included objects.
    4. Import all objects "Import slides/objects from other Adobe
Captivate projects>Objects only" from the source language file
    created in step 1.
    5. Import the the caption text "Import project captions and
closed captions" from the translated file in step 2.
    What went wrong?:
Step 5 does not work, I cannot "Import project captions and
closed captions" into the new language file, the menu text is grey.
    Product version:
    Product: Adobe Captivate 2
    Version: 2.0.0 Build 1177
    Platform information:
    Hardware: Qbic pc x86
    OS Version: XP Professional
    RAM: 1014 MB
    Color Depth: ?
Display Card: Intel(R) 82865G Graphics Controller
    Resolution: 1280 x 1024

Hi TekEl and welcome to our community
For what it's worth, here is how I might try it.
    1. Record a project using either language.
    2. Perform a "Save As" to a different name.
    3. From the new project, export the Captions.
    4. Localize as necessary.
    5. Import the revised captions into the new project.
I think the trick here is to ensure that you only attempt to
import into the project that created the export.

  • Are Adobe Captivate swf files not compatible with IE8 or IE9 when inserted into RoboHelp projects?

    Hi,
I've published Adobe Captivate swf files and then inserted them into my RoboHelp project. I then synced my RoboHelp project with our website and the videos within online help are not functioning in IE8 or IE9. They are only working in IE11.
    Thanks,
    Jaimie

    Hi there
When a SWF plays in IE, it uses the Flash Player ActiveX control. I'm not 100% sure that different versions of IE would share the install. So if you have one version of IE on your machine, perhaps it either doesn't even have the control added in or it's the wrong version.
One thing I would check in the browsers where the content seems to be missing is to right-click the blank area and see if you coax a Flash pop similar to below:
    Then note the version number.
You may find that all that you (or others) need to do is ensure you have at least a specific version of the player/add-in installed.

  • Intelligent Print Widget not compatible with Adobe Captivate 7?

    HI,
I took a file I developed with CP6 that has the Intelligent Print Widget on the Quiz Results pages into CP7. When I publish the file, I don't see the print widget. I even ensured the swf file is there in the zipped package but still no print button. What happened?

I tracked down the problem with the download and installation, my windows 7 was missing a file and after reinstalling windows everything worked out.  The first 32 bit program in their list was used.  I hope this can help others.

    Hi
We are looking for a software which converts SWF to MP4, we found many software which does the job but issue is file size is not optimize.
We found Adobe captivate 6 which gives optimum quality with good output but thing is we do not have batch process in captivate 6. so we request you to create a plugin or give a best option which have batch render quality and optimize in file size,

Captivate is e-learning development software not a dedicated video convertor, you are better off trying something like Adobe Media Encoder or Super.

  • Adobe Captivate 6 problem with Review area text on Quiz results page

    Hi,
I am using Adobe Captivate 6 and I have a test at the end of my project with the built in 'Quiz results page' at the end.
However, the standard 'review area' provided always seems to play up for me. I have changed the 'quiz results messages' through the preferences and changed the font of the review area, but everytime I play my project the message displayed is in a different font that I did not set and the size is so large that the sentence goes off the screen. It has done this on numerous projects.
I have changed the font of the review area and it shows up on my normal view, but everytime I preview the project or publish it, the font changes back to a strange default.
Does anyone know how I can fix this?
    Thank you.

    Hannah,
That is a very well-known bug in the last Captivate versions... if you screen these forums you'll find multiple threads complaining about it. Some fonts will work, I think Calibri works (not all styles however) and all the other fonts revert to Times New Roman. I'm a bit puzzled that you call it a 'strange default'.

  • Teething troubles with Using Adobe Captivate

Hello I have never used Adobe Captivate before, and would be grateful for some answers. I know people are very busy and may not want to deal with beginners but any comments suggestions partial tips will be gratefully appreciated
I am trying to do screen recording and run into difficulties.  I want to record a short (<10min) video of an instructive tutorial that plays on the internet. This tutorial has slides, and it is advanced by hand (manually) to the next slide
I was able to record video correctly, using the "Full Motion" mode. But when I use the other 2 available modes: I.e,Automatic, and Manual, I am not able to record. What happens it, I merely get a still picture upon playback, that runs as a video for 3 seconds. It turns out somewhere in "settings" there is a default which says slide length =3sec.  It looks like what I am getting recorded is a single slide, containing the very 1st scene.  What have I done wrong?
What I need to record are slides, some of which contain video and speech, some containing video but no speech, some are stills. In the Full Motion Mode
The video is being recorded split into many bits , and these bits (slides) are unequal in length, the first slide being of longest duration,  the last slide is of shortest  duration. Should they not equal in length? Also how to convert into "normal" formats like AVI? What kind of media player would play these presentations/slide shows when each slide is a short video? Further I do not hear any audio.
    Also what is panning
I am shunned because I am a woman and no one helps me with anything because I am supposed by a tacit rule to be with women ALL THE TIME and I am failing in what I am supposed to do. I have no means of using my brain or actively pursuing  science and technology, and others in it will not speak to me because of my defiance of that rule. I hope some MAN who doesn't mind will volunteer answers and I promise not to bother you again. I won't speak to you again, I wont come ont his site again, I have women's numbers.I wil be very grateful if you help me
    Thanking you,
    Yours SIncerely,

Hi folks and welcome to our community Milliemachine3
All I can say is... wow! I'm not sure where you live, but it sounds sort of "stuck in time" if you are really made to feel like an outcast just because your body has different parts.
All that aside, I'll take a stab at answering your questions.
I was able to record video correctly, using the "Full Motion" mode. But when I use the other 2 available modes: I.e,Automatic, and Manual, I am not able to record. The only thing you have done wrong is to misunderstand how Captivate is used to record screen activity. How successful you will be will depend on the version of Captivate you have installed as well as what your operating system is. For example, if you have Windows 7 64 bit and you are trying to use Captivate 4 (or earlier) you will likely encounter problems. But if you were using Windows XP you would likely be fine.
You may also be misunderstanding exactly how Captivate records the screen.
What I need to record are slides, some of which contain video and speech, some containing video but no speech, some are stills. In the Full Motion Mode The video is being recorded split into many bits, and these bits (slides) are unequal in length, the first slide being of longest duration,  the last slide is of shortest  duration. I'm not sure I've ever seen ANY software that does a flawless job of recording screen video where you are playing a video clip. You have to understand that video is usually memory and processor intensive. Not only for recording it, but also for playing it back. If you can, you will likely achieve your best result by locating the actual source file for the video and using that with Captivate. However, this somewhat depends on your Captivate version.
    Also what is panning
Panning is a feature that allows you to record a smaller area of your screen. As you move the cursor around, the recording area is shifted to include parts of the screen that maybe weren't in the recording before. Maybe you are recording a 200x200 sized area. You are in the upper left corner of the screen performing some activity such as opening the File menu. But you move the mouse over to the right side to scroll the page. The recording would look as if you were peering through a small window and the larger area that was formerly hidden would appear in the window.
I am shunned because I am a *woman* and no one helps me with anything because I am supposed by a tacit rule to be with women ALL THE TIME and I am failing in what I am supposed to do. I have no means of using my brain or actively pursuing  science and technology, and others in it will not speak to me because of my defiance of that rule. I won't speak to you again, I wont come ont his site again, I have women's numbers.I wil be very grateful if you help me
Well, I sincerely wish you the best in your Captivate journeys. Hopefully it will comfort you to know that what you are experiencing isn't a universal rule. I think women and men are equals. And anyone that believes differently has a very stilted view of the world.

  • Issue with using Adobe Captivate Review 2.0 software

I have a file that is about 102Meg  published that I am sending out for review.  I am posting it to location that everyone has access to on our network.  The issue I am having is kind of odd.  If you install the Captivate Review software on a new machine you can review the .crev file add comments and save just fine.  If you close the programm you can not get the software to open the file again.  If you go to a different machine and install the software you can review the file again.  We are running 32bit Windows XP with duo cpu @ 2.66Ghz and 4 Gigs of Ram on our engineering computers. If we publish a small file size it does not seem to be an issus.  Has anyone else run into this issue?

No, but I would really appreciate it if you could report this to the Adobe Captivate team using the web address I have included below.
