Adobe CC apps nightmare, hideous interfaces

Hi,
I have just bought into the whole Adobe CC apps things after years of working with CS4, 5 and 5.5 and remaining compatible with most of my clients, few are taking the leap to CC right now. And when I report on what my last week has been like with Adobe CC installation... they likely won't for quite some time.
First, upon installing CC, Dreamweaver requested I install Java 6 during installation. Since the request came from an Adobe app, I figured it was required, I did it.
Dreamweaver didn't launch.
Uninstalled it. Reinstalled it. Still didn't launch. Tried to chat online, used the callback option. Surprisingly, it called me back and said someone would be with me just 40 minutes after I called. I then proceeded to wait on the phone for 56 minutes, no one came. Luckily I was able to continue working. Tried the chat thing again, waited, no answer. Tried the call thing the next day. Got the callback, someone finally came on.
However, all they were able to do was read through a manual and attempt to help - this is not what your support lines are for Adobe. Anyone can read an online help resource, these people are supposedly paid to be profess... oh, wait, they're in India. I get it. They're not paid professionals. They're just glorified phone jockies. Yeah, was readily apparent with the person I talked to.
So I muddled through and figured out that somehow, in the confusion of Dreamweaver not being able to install itself, uninstalling the whole shebang, manually installing Java from their web site - v7 only - and then reinstalling, the Java 6 update got wiped. Searched for it, installed it, DW worked right away.
However, I continue to be extremely disappointed in the interface, and completely amazed that the Properties panel in Dreamweaver is still ridiculously underwhelming.
Case in point, the URL field.
Why has this field remained limited to just 30 characters when the Property panel extends the full width of the screen and is completely empty from the walfway mark over to the far right?
Can't remember the last time I had such a simple URL it even fit in there, mostly dealing with enewsletters with externally-hosted content... need hard URLs that are lengthy, this limitation adds too much time to my work and is annoying beyond belief.
In addition, all CC apps now leave a hideous solid background that covers all other apps, and the Finder, this to me is reverting back to 1998 standards, not Mac OS X standards at all.
Are the recent Adobe CC apps all Windoze ports? The dialogue boxes look hideous, the progress bars, etc, etc. all hideous, nothing like the slick CS4 look that was a major improvement over previous versions.
And in any dialogue box you have to tab through every single option in the dialogue box... what?
That's just inexcusable, it's as if they have provided us with beta versions that haven't been skinned properly yet, we're looking at all the ugly underbelly. And it sucks. I hate my days now. I used to love working with Adobe apps, I converted a dozen or more clients away from Quark XPress in the last 4-5 years... they're going to kill me when [if] they upgrade to CC. I'm going to tell them not to - not until Adobe fixes all of the issues that still exist.
Not that I expect Adobe to respond, but you can bet your *** I sent them a bug report, because right now, all of their apps are very buggy in my eyes... I have a list of over 100 items from CS5 that do not appear to have been addressed with the latest releases... so lots of bug reports to file.
So, Adobe... you have my money... put it to good use, fix your apps immediately. If there is a general mailbox I can send this lengthy bug report on all Adobe apps to please let me know, I don't have time to submit each individually via your feedback forms, you're not paying me, and clearly you're not paying professional support staff either.
Have used Illustrator since Illustrator 88, PhotoShop since v1.0, and InDesign since v3.0 - I don't think *anyone* used 1 and 2 ;-).
The current apps appear to have digressed back about a dozen years in terms of look and feel, very disappointing.
Thanks.

  • Download error in (osx) adobe desktop app (corrupted download link).

Here is a discription of the problem. Please consider that some of the wording might not be correct, as I do have to translate the error message from German into English.
Using OSX 10.9.2, when clicking inside the adobe desktop app (top of the screen bar) on the tap "apps", the following screen (screenshot) appears, which states, translated from top to bottom:
    download error
    download error. Please contact support.
    (link) contact support
(link/button) download creative cloud -> This button unfortunatly leads to the following error page "http://www.adobe.com/special/errorpages/404.html"
All apps, like Bridge, Photoshop, Lightroom, etc. are installed and work just fine. So no problem here. I seem however unable to redownload the desktop app (in order to reinstall). As stated above the provided link inside the desktop app itself is coruppted and within the (online) web-based download centre (user logged in) I am only adviced to use the desktop app. This is a dead end and I do not know what to make of this error, let alone solving it. Please help!

I am sorry Romsinha but this doesn't really help.
I already restarted the desktop app and while I am obviously online and connected the problem (error message) remains the same. Information within the "home" tap is recieved/loaded  (little blue spinning wheel) stating that various apps recently have been updated. Yet the same loading wheel within the "apps" tap results in an error. My best guess is that some internal link within the app is corrupted, leading to a source on a server that can not be reached.
    UPDATE
I clean uninstalled adobe creative cloud as discribed in the article you provided (using the cleaner tool) and even uninstalled the browser plugin. After downloading and reinstalling creative cloud the problem however remains the same. "Apps" tap still shows the same problem. "Home" tap now displays the following:

  • Adobe Touch App Plug-in for Photoshop CS6

I need to carry on working on a file from my iPad 3rd Genration inside Photoshop CS6, however it seems a Plug-in is required and the only one I can find is for CS5. Does anybody know if this is currently available
Forgot to mention CS6 is on the MacBook Pro OS X 10.7.4
    Thanks

You can download the CS6 touch plugin form the main Creative Cloud installer page: https://creative.adobe.com/apps. See the screenshot:
This will invoke the Adobe Application Manager where you can select to install the Touch App Plugins:
Also check out the following video: http://tv.adobe.com/watch/learn-creative-cloud-/opening-touch-app-files-in-desktop-apps-/ which covers the process in a video tutorial.

  • Adobe Touch Apps won't send to/open in Desktop Apps

    Summary:
When I create anything is any of the Adobe Touch Apps (Draw, Line, Comp, Sketch) and then click the "send to Photoshop", "send to Illustrator", or "send to InDesign" (depending on the app/program) the app will say that it has sent but then nothing opens in the desktop programs. That being said, all of the Library apps work perfect and sync as they should (such as Color and Shape)
    What I'm Working With:
I have the most updated versions of all the touch apps, the updated version of my Mac OS, and I'm on the monthly subscription of the most updated versions of Creative Cloud.
    What I've Tried:
uninstalled and reinstalled all software and apps
rebooted the computer and iPad (both hard and soft)
    contacted Adobe Chat
    contacted Mac Support Chat
    What's we (Adobe/Mac) have concluded:
If I'm logged into this computer with my default admin account the apps will NOT send/sync. If I log into this computer with a different admin account it will send/sync perfectly and all files that were sent will all start opening in the appropriate program.
When I contacted Adobe and they took control of my computer, they said that this was a Mac profile issue and to contact Mac.
When I contacted Mac and they took control of my computer, they said that this is not a profile issue and that there is something wrong with the Adobe programs. They recommended that I contact Adobe to see which "plist" files I can delete in order to have them rebuild upon reboot. I have not been able to get home from work in time to get back onto the chat session with Adobe since.
    Adobe/Mac Suggested "workaround":
log out of my default account and log into my other admin account on this computer when ever I want to work with the Adobe Touch Apps.
    Suggestions?

    Hey there Jose!
Here's the default admin account (2 photos). The files will NOT send to this account.
Here's the temp admin account that Adobe created when I was on tech support chat (2 photos). The files WILL send to this account.

Why is soundBooth missing from the Adobe Cloud Apps?

    Adobe has discontinued Soundbooth

It has been replaced by Adobe Audition, which is a Cloud app.

  • I cannot download Adobe Reader app using my IPod Touch 4th Generation due to iOS upgrade.

I have an IPod Touch 4th Generation (the older model) and the highest operating system stops at iOS 6.1.6. Unfortunately, when I tried to download Adobe Reader app, it only works for the newer IPod Touch 5th Generation with an operating system of iOS 7.0 or higher. My question is that since I cannot download Adobe Reader app, is there a way for me to open PDF files on my IPod Touch by using Safari? There is no way I can find an Adobe Reader app that works for my operating system or an operating system that works for iOS 6.0 or lower. Is there another program similar to Adobe Reader where I can open PDF files that works for iOS 6.0 or lower?
    Thanks.

    Krispy2010,
Please note that my instructions are intended for Adobe Reader for iOS, not for all iOS apps in general.
Adobe Reader for iOS does offer earlier compatible versions for iOS 5 and 6 via the App Store.  Because the supported iOS version for Adobe Reader for iOS is 5 or later.
Tech specs | Adobe Reader mobile app
However, I cannot speak for other apps, such as Costco app and NFL app that you have mentioned.  It is up to each individual app developer/company to decide whether to take advantage of Apple's App Store's features to offer earlier versions.
Install the latest compatible version of an app on an earlier version of iOS or OS X - Apple Support
If a compatible version isn't available, you can try contacting the app developer. Look for contact information on the app's product page in the App Store or Mac App Store.

  • Adobe AIR app installation issue due to certificate problem on mac 10.9.5

Im trying to upgrade and then reinstall an Adobe Air application but get the error message failing to install due to a certificate issue.
The developer says the fix is to uninstall the app and install again but this also fails.
Checked my machine clock - saved but that didnt work
The adobe AIR uninstaller simply says I have the latest version? Cant seem to delete and reinstall although other adobe air apps work so I dont think this is the issue
I have gone through the troubleshooting guide: Troubleshoot AIR installation | Mac OS but still have the issue?
    Any ideas would be great.

I suspect your Mac OS install was an in place upgrade from an earlier version. This is something I would never even consider with a production machine.

Is there a setting that needs to be set to allow the annotation features?  I set password protection to open and then password for editing and set it to Any except page extraction, but it still did not give the annotation option

Many of us have encounted this issue. The problem is not confined to a particular version or computer operating. Many homemade remedies and scientific ones have worked for some and not others. The most recent fix was offered by an ID by the name of Maud Barbara and seems to have been the answer for that user and at least one more.
Maud Barbara's fix can be found at the end of the very long thread on the subject found
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1121947?start=40&tstart=0
    The rough Google Translate went
    Hello
I had the same problem as you and I just d have the solution:
    go to C / program files (86) / common files/OOBE
    Rename OOBE by OLDOOBE
    and your problem is resolved
    You can reinstall the software
What worked for me in this case was none of the above. How I and others navigated this installation problem is documented in the thread cited.
We look forward to your results to see what turned out to work for you.
    Thanks.

  • Why can't I download my Adobe Cloud apps

I uninstalled my Adobe Cloud apps in anticipation of receiving my serial no. for my Adobe Creative Suite 6DS. However it's taking some time and I'd like to re-install my Cloud apps while I wait. However upon clicking on any of the Download buttons I receive the message:

In adobe reader app on iPad, I have a PDF document that added notes and comments to.  Once I left the document and returned to it, the notes and comments were gone.  Where are they?  I clicked "save" and "done" buttons after I entered text.

The application auto-saves your input when you close the document.  If you left the document, as you state, the notes/comments should have been saved and should have been visible the next time you opened the document with the Mobile Reader (note that if you are opening the document with another app such as Apple's built in PDF Viewer, things like notes/comments may not be visible).  Also note that if you are doing an Open In... from another app (like Dropbox), the version of the document in Dropbox does not update; only the version of the document in the Mobile Reader is updated.
Would it be possible to send a video of the problem you are encountering to [email protected] so that we can try to help?
