Adobe CC apps running s_____l_____o_____(wait for it)______w.

Hey gang. I have an iMac running Mavericks OS.
2010 model running Intel i7 quad core, 16GB RAM with 1TB HHD and 128GB SSD. When opening Ai or Muse, the apps are running freakishly slow. Example; when moving an object I have to wait for the object to catch up to my mouse...  I was running all my adobe apps off the SSD, then tried running them off the HD, no luck.
I was having this poblem with my old laptop PC and decided to switch to a more powerful Mac. I'm not dogging PC's I use a PC with the same guts at work (and the same apps run smooth). Any body know of any reason these apps are so slow.
Please Help, I'm desperate (said with extensive over exageration). Thanks
Cheers

  • How do you keep a VI running while waiting for user input?

    I have a VI that:
    1.  The user enters set points.
    2.  The user starts the VI and the VI sends the set points to an external process via a serial interface.
    3.  The VI  stops running.
4   The user waits for the external process to complete.
    5.  Repeat sequence. Go to Step 1.
This works well except for one small problem.  Starting the VI in step 2 causes an external micro controller to reset.  During the reset it will ignore set point commands.  To get around this problem a delay has been added between when the VI opens the serial port and when the VI sends the set points to the external process   Is it possible to keep a VI running continuously in this type of application, thereby eliminating the start up and shut down of the serial interface?
If yes, how do you keep a VI running while waiting for user input?

The ones for the event structure specifically. I'm posting from my phone. Look at the basic ones for user input. even a simple while loop with a boolean and a case statement would work.

  • Adobe Pro XI install: Timeout waiting for window to load

Installed fine on my work computer yesterday (subscription).  Trying to download and install at home from the website and getting "Timeout waiting for window to load".  I've tried IE, Chrome and Firefox.  I do have a Pro 8 installed here, but don't want to chuck it until I know XI is going to install - not sure I know where that disk is any longer.

    Hi Daniel,
Seems to be a network issue here.
Please try downloading the file ( Download Acrobat products | 9, 8 ) from any other network, (may be your work computer network) and save the setup file to a flash drive.
Connect the flash drive to the home computer and try installing.

  • Adobe AIR app running fine on Adobe Flash CC but crashes when published

    Hi,
I am developing an app for Adobe AIR. The app works fine when I compile it on Adobe Flash CC when I run it through the ADL. When I publish the app for Desktop and run it, I get the following error:
VerifyError: Error #1014: Class flash.filesystem::File could not be found.
This is strange, because it seems that actually, when I run the app outside Adobe Flash, the app is run through Flash Player.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

Is the Intel your only graphics adapter, or are you running an ATI or nVidia card as well?

  • Lightroom trial running out & waiting for LR6 ?

I downloaded the LR free trial nearly a month ago and was planning to get the newest version if i like it.   I like it very much but would like to get the new version that is coming out.
Thought i timed it right, but no news on LR6.  This will be a stand alone purchase.
I am certain i want to get LR6 for the new features, so must i wait until the release or could i verify somehow that recent purchase will allow an upgrade to the newest version?
Anyone have advice on this for me?  I tried to contact Adobe but it sends me back to this method.
    Thank You in advance,
    Regards, Chris

According to this New Lightroom 6 release date leaks: sales start 21 of April for €129! | Fuji Rumors It is coming soon. However A huge grain of salt is needed. Since so many (reliable) shops have already released false dates my presumption is that Adobe have failed to deliver on time.
Major last-minute-bug perhaps needed more time than expected. The word is that some new cloud implementation took/takes longer to fix ergo we had no beta public release available at all.
Just like you I am very eager due to the GPU utilization which should bring tremendous speed boost to the develop module.
I find distasteful the lack of official communication with the clients community. Adobe had always the option of confirming, denying or just saying that it is still not ready.
But who am I to judge @Adobe's PR? Saying what-so-ever however could leave me with better feelings. ;-)

How to Remove “Other” Data from iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch
    http://www.igeeksblog.com/how-to-remove-other-data-from-iphone/
With an iOS device, the “Other” space in iTunes is used to store things like documents, settings, caches, and a few other important items. If you sync lots of documents to apps like GoodReader, DropCopy, or anything else that reads external files, your storage use can skyrocket. With iOS 5/6/7, you can see exactly which applications are taking up the most space. Just head to Settings > General > Usage, and tap the button labeled Show All Apps. The storage section will show you the app and how much storage space it is taking up. Tap on the app name to get a description of the additional storage space being used by the app’s documents and data. You can remove the storage-hogging application and all of its data directly from this screen, or manually remove the data by opening the app. Some applications, especially those designed by Apple, will allow you to remove stored data by swiping from left to right on the item to reveal a Delete button.

  • Should clients of long-running processes wait for a response?

I am a bit confused by the worklist tutorial where the client waits around for
a response from the worklist process that blocks on human input. This may be okay
for the sample application, but is it a realistic scenario? Have you designed
any practical worklist processes this way? I would have thought that the client
of a worklist process would simply trigger the process and go away. Eventually
when the human involved in the process would take some action, the process would
then, for example, send a message to some application. What do you think? I would
be interested in your opinions and perhaps some real examples of how you are using
    worklists.
    Thanks.
P.S. Is it even possible for a worklist client to trigger the process and go away?
Would the process die because the client has gone out of scope?

I agree with your comments. In being honest as well, we unfortunately do have SRs that get behind or missed. It's very frustrating on our side as well when we have these come up. We have implemented a number of technologies and also human touch to help us catch these and continue to focus on ways to overcome these delays. I know it's frustrating for you as well.
Our customer satisfaction is very high and actually continues to increase each Qtr. Our data shows us our three key satisfaction areas are; speed of response, speed of resolution and followup.
Chat support helps us in response time, but sometimes may hinder us in resolution times. Especially with more complex issues. Our goals were not to totally replace the phones with chats, but to use chat to allow us to respond more quickly, which it has done. We're now focusing our folks to realize it's still ok to call you when the Chat is hindering resolution and it would be quicker to talk live about the issue.
We resolve over half of the SRs on the first day. We continue to focus on speeding up the resolution of those that go beyond the first day. A couple things we've implemented are we call you back at least every 2 days when the SR is in Novell's court and at least every 5 days when it's in your court. We've also implemented timed escalation for SRs and are now looking at also escalating when progress is not being made after a certain number of days (rather that just time open). The goal is to get you in the hands of the right person asap to speed up the resolution time.
We're also having Managers call you on more and more SRs before being closed to double check your satisfaction with the SR.
Our dream is to never have you need to ask us for attention on a SR. We continue to make progress on it.
I look forward to your thoughts and other ideas you may have to help us improve,

Updated apps and just says waiting under each app dor over 24 hours

Check iTunes and see if you have a pending/stalled download e.g. Podcast, Books, Music, Movies or iTune U. Finish off the download and you should be able to update.
If there are no pending or stalled downloads, sign-out of account, reboot and sign-in again.

  • Keep dll running and waiting for parameters

    Hello!
I am for the first time in this forum, sorry if something wrong.
    My problem:
I have a labview aplication, which needs to pass several parameters during the run to a  .dll(c++). The .dll has to remember all the values sent in different time moments, execute some calculations and answer to the VI every time parameters arrive. All the values passed are integers.
I know how to run the .dll from vi, pass parameters and receive answer, but every time i pass the parameters, the .dll starts again and does not remember parameters sent before.
I use next line to get parameters from vi to .dll:
    extern "C" __declspec(dllexport)int Myfunction( int a, int b, int c );
The other way I thought of would be to save the values to a .txt file, but this isn't certainly optimal solution.
It would be best, if the .dll would run simultaneously with the vi and listen for parameters and answer, when needed.
    Please help, thanks.

    Hi there,
Ironically, I just posted a very similar query here - today as well! (didn't find this one during my initial search...):
    http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=170&message.id=449082#M449082
If you just want single strings/values, then the event posting definitely works okay (I don't know how many events per second it can handle though, if you need high data rates).
Anyhow, I suggest you have a look at:
    http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/epd/p/id/1480
    and
    http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=170&thread.id=332674
(I don't know why I failed with passing 1D arrays, given that strings work... )

  • Mac App Store app running programs in /usr/bin or /sbin

    Hello,
The Mac Developer Program License Agreement says:
3.3.4          All files necessary for the Application to execute must be in the Application bundle submitted to Apple and must be installed by the Mac App Store.
This precludes using NSTask to run a program in /usr/bin or /sbin to obtain some output. Seems pretty restrictive since there is a lot of good functionality there and most of it without copyright. There is a fine line between running /sbin/md5 on a file to get a hash, and calling md5() in libssl.dylib, making me wonder what is the purpose of the restriction.
The question, dumb as it may sound given section 3.3.4 of the agreement, is, should I eliminate all code that runs other programs?
If the Mac App Store app runs without running other programs, but includes other features by running those programs, does it still violate section 3.3.4?
Has anyone submitted a program that calls others and, if so, was it accepted?
    Thanks

    CTSdev wrote:
I've never had a problem with NSTask. In what way is it clunky?
You have to set it up, launch it, possibly send it data, collect the output, parse it. I have an app circulating around here called EtreCheck that does lots and lots of NSTask. It isn't sandboxed though. The problem is that your NSTask inherits your app sandbox and it may expect to read or write to places that it can't. You can use it, but if there is an alternative in a framework or library, that would be better. I think the biggest problem with NSTask is that they are procedural. You have to start it, run it, wait for it, and then handle the output. You will have to do that in a thread or block.
I used /sbin/md5 as an example since it has an analog library routine. /usr/bin/cksum is the more direct way to verify file integrity. I would also like to run /usr/bin/compress. Certainly easier than writing & testing LZW or Huffman code.
I think you could probably run both of those. There may be easier versions around. iOS people can't do any of that so there may be some handy Cocoa libraries that will do just what you need. If you just want to compress data, libz is in the OS and not too terribly difficult to use.
I will probably just have my app run those programs and describe this in my submission to Apple, If they say no, then I'll code those pieces too.
I don't think you really have to describe anything other than some of your entitlements. As long as it works on your machine and you aren't calling any private APIs then you should be fine. I was only half-joking before. If you really aren't a fraudster, then you really have nothing to worry about at all.
I don't know what kind of checks they do for that kind of thing. Pretty much everything I have done so far has some feature that looks like it should be forbidden by the sandbox, but really isn't. I display copyrighted Apple art in ways that aren't normally possible. I launch Terminal. I just released an app that has serious amounts of integration with the Finder. No problems.
