Adobe Color CC

Hi,
I saw something about Adobe Color CC. I'm a huge believer in exact color matching for clients. I don't see it listed in Creative Cloud, but I read that it is indeed part of the Cloud. Anybody know for sure and if so, how can I access it for  download?
Thanks,
Robert

Have you had a read through Adobe Color CC FAQ

  • I can't access Adobe Color Themes in Illustrator

    Hi,
I've dowloaded the latest Illustrator from CC and when I click on Windows on the menu bar I don't see Extensions like I see in Photoshop. I can't access the Adobe Color Themes like I can in Photoshop. This same issue applies with InDesign. Do I need to reinstall Illustrator and InDesign?
    Thank you,
    Robert

Kuler was the extension. It is now renamed to Color and not an extension anymore. You can access the Color themes from the Window menu or from the Swatches panel (click the little icon at the bottom of the panel).

  • Could not complete the command because of a problem using the Adobe Color Engine

    Hi all
This bizarrely started this morning - completely out of the blue - and I've no idea why.
Setup: Mac 10.8.2 / Creative Suite Premium PhotoShop CS5 extended (patched to 12.04)
Am working on images exported from LightRoom 4 (16bit A3 Pro Photo RGB PSDs) in PhotoShop CS5.
As part of my image grading process I have a PhotoShop Action that does the following: copy layer to new document (document respects all of copied layer settings) > Image > Adjustments > HDR toning > apply a certain HDR preset > copy to resultant image back to original doc > set opacity as 40%.
Totally out of the blue, after having this action for about 2 months, this morning I start getting a warning dialog of "Could not complete the command because of a problem using the Adobe Color Engine" and the action fails. The failure seems to take place at the 'make document' part of the action and seems to somehow be related to the contents of the clipboard.
I've tried trashing and re-creating the action. It works first time out fine and then - on the next image - errors again.
At present I can only safely carry out the work 'manually' by completing all the actions myself.
I can think of no settings that have changed and the OS hasn't been updated in a while.
I have found one other thread on a similar problem in PhotoShop Elements, but no definitive solution.
Any help appreciated as I have a shedload of stuff to process.
    Best wishes
    TP

OK: trash of prefs didn't work. Tried thrice. Re-created orig action. same problem.
    BUT!
Your 'Image > Duplicate' suggestion does seem to work. If I use that in a new action as the method for creating the HDR version doc (instead of 'Select > Copy > New > Paste), it seems to work.
Will try that out this afternoon, but for now: WIN!
    Many thanks for the suggestion!
    TP

  • A plug-in for Adobe Color in the app or to allow the download file to be accessed by Muse

I think it would be awesome to have the functionality of adobe color CC. so that we can search for colors in the app or allow us to download the file drop it into the app for use, so we won't have to screenshot the color and color pick them.

Acrobat does not have this built in. Normally, the table of contents is prepared at the same time as the document, perhaps in Word, which will use heading styles to do it automatically. Then this is converted to PDF. It is very unusual to do this work late with a PDF, I guess this is why it is not a core Acrobat feature.

  • Error in Dreamweaver: Unknown Adobe color transform code 2

I am getting an error in Dreamweaver: Unknown Adobe color transform code 2. Can anyone tell me what is causing this and what to do?

Not encountered that problem before, but unusual messages after performing a particular action in Dreamweaver are normally the sign that you have a corrupt cache file. Instructions on how to remove the corrupt file are here: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/494811.

  • Installation error: Adobe Color JA Extra Settings CS4

I have a multiuser Mac CS4 Design Studio (college department).  All but one computer is installing fine.  This is a PowerMac G5 with 10.5.8.  Clean as a whistle, nothing funny installed, no other problems.
The installer fails when installing Illustrator, specifically when installing the additional-but-required item named "Adobe Color JA Extra Settings CS4".  It simply fails with a helpful "Error 2" message.  I don't know what this item is, but without it, Illustrator won't install.
All other CS4 applications install fine.  I've repaired permissions, tried installing from another Admin user on the same computer, etc.  I've tried installing both from the original CDs and from the downloaded license installer.  Etc etc.
The Adobe installation log appears useless.  I run the "Adobe Support Advisor" which tells me:
      Issue no: id18470
Unable to update an installed font when installing the Adobe Creative Suite 4 product
    and points me to:
      http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/403/kb403901.html
Which, if related at all, doesn't provide any info since it doesn't tell me what font is related (although my gut feeling is this isn't a font issue at all, but it's impossible to know).  Anyway I try using the Support Advisor to upload the logs to Adobe but keep getting "The storage server is unavailable! Please try again later."  That's helpful.  Anyway, to rule out any font permission issues I force-propagated proper permissions in /Library/Fonts and ~/Library/Fonts.  No change.
I've been on hold with Adobe Support for 45 minutes and can't stay on much longer, so I figure I'll post here to see if anyone has any suggestions.  I wish they'd at least have better music.
Any idea what this file/item is, and if there's either another way to install it (ie copy from another Mac) or manually deselect it from the installer?
The last chunk of lines from the installation log follows; no idea where the proper cutoff is.
    Thanks!

  • Why do the colours from Adobe Color Theme creation change when I try to use them?

I've been exploring the Adobe Color Theme creator in InDesign. There are the three tabs: Create, Explore, My Themes.  In the create tab I can create a theme of colours, get the combination just right, and then save my new theme.  However as soon as I save any colour out to the swatches, the colour changes! It's driving me nuts.
[Original Colour]  -Colour it comes out as-
    [green turquoise] -prussian blue-
    [strong, bright red] -darkish orange-
    [warm purple] -faded dark mauve-
My best guess was that maybe the colour profile of the document was set to CMYK and that the colour themes work in RGB, but as far as I can determine it's just "North America General Purpose 2" and the Working Spaces include both RGB and CMYK. Therefore I'm stumped. I do not have the expertise to figure out what is going on and these are significant colour changes to have a really strong, vibrant colour palette turn into something much more muted.
And if this piece of information is of any use, my yellow doesn't seem to change at all.
Any ideas please?  I've tried searching for it, but maybe I'm not putting in the right combination of keywords. Hopefully I'm just being obtuse and someone will tell me to put a checkmark in a box somewhere.

There are some slight value changes between the Theme and the Swatches, but we're only talking a change of 1 or 2 and so the colours appear to stay true now. Total pain to have to do this extra little step every time. =)
a huge, glaring, and sloppy problem which really ought to be fixed by Adobe pronto.
You can batch change the color mode of swatches if you select all of the swatches and double click them. Or, you can simply leave the Lab values and let the conversion to the correct CMYK space happen when you export to PDF.
I'm guessing the fix won't be coming soon. The original Kuler app had the same color management problem. It's hard to see how they will fix it and keep Color Themes as a cloud based web app.
When you convert the Lab swatches the CMYK values you get will depend on the document's assigned profile, so if you make two document's with different profiles assigned you'll get different CMYK values when you convert the Lab values. Here is US SWOP vs US SNAP

  • How to use downloaded Adobe color theme (.ase) in Photoshop cc?

How to use downloaded Adobe color theme (.ase) in Photoshop cc?

I can confirm this functions but there is no indication it's been successful and the swatches appear in the Swatches panel, *not* in the Libraries panel where I would expect them.  My issue is that IMO this should not even be an issue, because a palette created on color.adobe.com should just show up in PS CC unless I'm not understanding the intended behavior.
    Anyone?

    The problem:
In PSE 10, when using the Eyedropper Tool or clicking on the Foreground Color or the Background Color, the Microsoft Microsoft "Color Dialogue Box" pops up instead of the "Adobe Color Picker" dialogue box. This started about a month ago. I use Windows 7.

    Thank you.

  • Adobe Color CC color theme looks different in Illustrator

Whenever I import color themes from Adobe Color CC, they look different in Illustrator. The cmyk values are the identical but the colors just aren't the same. I guess it has something to do with my color settings in Illustrator but I can't figure out what it is. Here are my color settings:
I read Creative Suite * Keeping colors consistent and some other articles but couldn't figure it out...
    What am I doing wrong?
Thanks a lot for any feedback!

That would be a real problem.
You're working with RGB colors on screen when you experiment. Browsers tend to not color manage anything so after the conversion what would you get?
On top of that: printing is different in each country, on each printer, on each paper, with each ink. You can't use the one conversion that suits all needs. Color management for this kind of world wide used web app would be really complicated. And I don't even think of all the people who don't know how to set it up correctly.

  • Adobe Color Issues

I have perfectly good internet connection, but over half the time when I work in Illustrator and InDesign, the Adobe Color feature has issues and "can't connect."  I want to use all the color themes I've made, but I rarely have access to them.

It looks to me like the Color Themes panel is not color managed—that's always been a problem with Kuler and the current web version.
You can really see it with the 100% cyan and magenta patches in this example, where the document and Swatches panel respond to changing CMYK profile assignments, but the Color Theme panel does not. Obviously the 100% cyan patch in the Theme panel is not accurate for any printing condition and looks more like out-of-gamut  0|255|255 RGB:
    A custom CMYK profile assignment
    Japan Color Coated
I think the work around is to select your colors in the Color Theme panel as Lab, move the swatches into your Swatches panel, and convert them to CMYK from the swatches panel where the conversion to CMYK will be color managed.
Here you can see when I pick colors as Lab there's no shift when I send them to the Swatches panel:

  • Adobe Color Printer Utility and PS CS6

When attempting to print without Color Management in PS CS6 (in the Color Handling section of the Photoshop CS6 Print dialog box) I get a pop-up error message that says I must use the Adobe Color Printer Utility. It refers me to this page:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/no-color-management-option-missing.html
Yet the page says nothing about CS6, only CS5.
What gives? Is the Utility for CS6?
I want to use ICC profiles when printing but the Utility doesn't have any options for such.

    No, it isn't required.
But if you are trying to print calibration targets (aka "no color management"), then you'll need it.
Why is that not in Photoshop? Because the OS vendors keep changing the print APIs and making "no color management" more difficult to implement.

  • Why doesn't Adobe Color show CMYK colors?

Adobe Kuler used to show RGB, CMYK, Hex and other values for every color. Adobe Color is showing only RGB and HEX. How do I get the corresponding CMYK values?

It's working for me (Web, PS, AE, ID, FL; not available in the Color Themes panel in Ai).  Please click the triangle next to the color space to expand and view more data.

  • Why do Adobe Color CC and Indesign CC not convert CMYK to RGB the same?

I recently used Adobe Color CC to create a color theme that will be used for both print and web.  I created the theme with approved CMYK values with the intent of saving the .ASE file to be imported into other CC apps.  Corresponding RGB, Hex, Lab and HSB values are automatically created.  Of course, we are using CMYK for print and RGB for web
A coworker had separately created the same exact CMYK theme in InDesign CC, and created RGB values from the same exact CMYK values I had used in Adobe Color.
The InDesign RGB values are quite different from the Adobe Color values.
Anyone know why the values are not the same, and moreover, which CMYK to RGB conversion values may be relied upon for accuracy?
EDIT: I guess the real question should be, What are the color management settings built-in to Adobe Color CC, and can they be duplicated in desktop Adobe CC applications?
    Thanks very much

I found what change it to normal way, but logicaly it's should not be a reason for autoconvert colors. If I choose CMYK and want add CMYK color it should be CMYK (in name minimum) and not RGB.
File->Documents Colors->CMYK(should be, but RGB was)
Right now options open like CMYK, not HSB. But if I want color in RGB it added like CMYK. Options like in CMYK, not HSB, again. Still look like error.
