Adobe comparison abruptly closes at completion

I am trying to compare two PDFs of 800+ pages of text and some figures. The comparison tool seems to perform just fine when I designate a block of pages for comparison to about 10 pages, but when I compare larger blocks (i.e. 20-250) Adobe and all adobe documents close without warning at the end of the comparison. The last status message the progress bar shows is "Storing results in cache..." I've noticed that when comparing 200+ pages, Adobe requires 1+ GB of RAM, but this shouldn't be a problem with only 50 pages.
I am using windows XP (SP3, Core 2 Duo 2.66 Ghz, 1.96 GB RAM) and the version of Adobe is 9.3.1.
Does anyone know what is going on and how I can stop this?

  • Adobe Reader X closes when I press any key in the keyboard.

    Hello,
    I have recently updated my windows from xp to 7 and installed the latest version of adobe reader. Then I encountered a problem, after some time using my PC, Adobe Reader would close whenever I touched any key in my keyboard, but not on my mouse, so I could only view pdf files by moving around using the mouse, and loss funcionalities like searching for a word in the document, or saving it with a different name. The only way to solve this problem was to restart my PC, and then everything would be allright for a while, then the problem happened again. I uninstalled and installed Adobe again, however this problem persists, so I'm seeking help here.
    There is another thread with the same problem here http://forums.adobe.com/thread/901383, however it's dead and no solution is presented.
    Any help would be great, regards from Chle.

    Like when open a drawing pdf which is inserted into Excel(office 365) as an object, some lines, dimensions with remark can not be displayed and only few graph can be displayed.
    But if the drawing is a separate PDF file, not inserted into Excel(office 365)as an object, the Adobe XI reader can always open it with all graphs, figures, texts, lines etc. smoothly.

    Please explain in full detal what you are trying to do and what happens when you try. I don't understand what you mean by "displacing a pdf (file?)".

    Adobe Download Assistant won't complete download. It says downloading 501mb, and when it does that it goes around again and again. My download speed is about 7mb, so it shouldn't take more that a couple of hours at most...

    I am running windows 7, firefox 4 v6, and AFP 10.1. I have tried reinstalling AFP and upgrading to the firefox beta. I first experienced this after installing ADP 10.1 and have uninstalled that program until I can resolve this issue.

    Open System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Advanced tab.
    Click Delete All under Browsing Data and Settings
    Click Check Now to make sure the currently installed Flash plugin is up to date.

    Generally, not really any problems, but you need to check and see if your mac can be upgraded and also as i mentioned before , if you
    use any applications that need Rosetta (a PowerPC emulator), then they won't work on mavericks.

    If your able to do the mavericks upgrade, then yes, you can use photoshop elements 12 or photoshop cs6 with the latest camera raw updates.
    Photoshop cs5 and the 8.6 dng converter should work on mavericks as well.
    If for some reason your machine doesn't meet the specs or you don't want mavericks, you probably can still upgrade to 10.7 lion or 10.8 mountain lion, but they are paid upgrades.

    Try restarting your machine and Launch ADE again

    Similar problem , but my computer displayed stripes! This is a known problem apparently but site only warns you after taking you directly to Adobe, and you have updated the new problematic flash.

  • Adobe Muse update won't complete - says up to date in Creative Cloud

    I became an Adobe Creative Cloud member yesterday. I downloaded the Muse app on my work computer, and then the update that was popped up and it worked fine. I started to design a website - but when I went home and downloaded the program on my computer the update will not complete. It gets hung up at the same position even after I tried uninstalling Muse and Air (multiple times). Not sure what to do - but I HAVE to be able to work on this website from home and work. Any suggestions?

    You can try to reset the preferences to see if that helps.
    Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

    There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.

    adobe download showed download completed but every next time i open my system and check for acrobat it again shows download in process..what to do?

    After following the steps found in the link above, a window popped up stating that my computer was currently running the most recent update of Adobe AIR. Yet the Adobe Download Assistant will not open past the Adobe AIR Licesnsing Agreement box, which I have "Agreed" to. I tried uninstalling and re-installing Adobe AIR three times. I have downloaded everything to my desktop, as suggested, ran as the administrator, but still NOTHING. Any other suggestions? I have downloaded content from Adobe before successfully without using the Adobe Download Assistant, never had any issues at all. I have uninstalled and re-installed all of the necessary applications, and still no luck. I have been messing with this for 4 days! I am the administrator of the computer I am downloading to, there should be no restrictions.
