Adobe Connect stays on tray after screen sharing

Hi,
When sharing screen and stopping the ScreenSharePublisher,  the Adobe Connect component does not always close and stays on the tray.
Is there a way to ensure that the Adobe Connect component  closes properly?
Thanks!

Here you go
That's after the plugin had publishing stopped. Seems to be a new issue. Was there a new update to the Connect Plugin? Only noticed this today on a freshly formatted machine.

  • Adobe Connect Session only works after 5:00 pm

I have a bizzare situation where my adobe connect session only works after 5:00 pm. I have two other users who tried this and the session just hangs and then there is an error . But when both of us try after 5:00 it works fine. We are using IE 8.0. Also this will work fine in firefox at any time of the day. We have to roll this out to 2,000 users and need to get this working during the day.
    Thanks

Then I go through the adobe connect test results and it fails at adobe connection test.
    So here is more details:
Now I can get it to work when I use the content outside the Saba LMS that I am using.
But when I use it through the LMS then I get an connect error.
"Adobe connect connection test" Unable to connect . This only happens through IE 8.0
When using firefox through Saba LMS it works fine.

  • Why is very long (about 30 seconds) to connect another distant computer using Screen Sharing under Yosemite ?

    Hello,
Before Yosemite (under Mavericks and less), it was possible to connect immediately another distant computer (over internet) with Screen Sharing (using Command-K or on Finder Menu-Go and submenu Connect To The Server, and putting the address like vnc://name:password@address
Under Yosemite, it is possible to do the same things, but it takes about 30 seconds to get connection (is it the evolution of the celerity of the computing ?). And also, I have 2 windows during the waiting of connection : one is with icon of ScreenSharingApplication and 'Connecting to        …com', and the second one is with icon of a BlueHardDiskwith3people and 'Connecting…'.
Under Yosemite, if I use Chicken of the VNC or JellysFastVNC, the connection is immediately.
Could you tell me how is it possible to have under Yosemite a quick connection (about 0 to 5 seconds) with a distant computer (over internet) using Screen Sharing (command-K for example) ?
    Thanks.

    William,
Eventually (after about 30 hours or so) it finished the encryption.  I then forced TM do a backup to the external HDD (after adding a 1GB file to my internal HDD) just to measure how long it would take for TM to run a backup to the external disk -- and it was very fast.  Looks like everything is working fine now.
Without your advice that 24+ hours wasn't unreasonable time for a first encryption of a drive that size,  I probably would have kept restarting my iMac and repartioning the external HDD and gone around in circles.
    Thank you very much.

  • Crash after screen sharing

Hi there, it´s a bit long story.
I had an MB138xx/A mid 2007 mac mini with Snow Leopard installed, connected to my TV for watching movies. everything worked great.
I had a Macbook Pro 17" with Snow leopard too from which I used to control my mini via screen share.
Recently I purchased a new MB pro 15" retina with mavericks.
I tried to do some screen sharing again with my mini, and it seemed to work, until after 30 min aprox. of use, the mini got frozen.
I shut down my mini with the power button and it got stacked at the apple logo screen. After a couple tries more, I managed to get to the login screen but mouse and keyboard did not connect bluetooth and I was not able to do anything. After some more tries there was no way to start it, safe reboot, verbose, clean NVram.. nothing.
Fortunately, I was able to start it as FW disk and was able to get all the data back using my laptop, but something looked wrong into disk utility and was not able to format it. The I got a software that enabled me to format it again, and finally I installed marevicks to the mini.
The mini worked perfectly even with 2 GB or ram, 1080p movies played perfectly.
I was able to control it with my new MPB with no problem.
PS: It was totally full of home dust and I had to vacuum it in order to remove it.
    BUT.
Yesterday, my wife connected to the mini using my old 17" MBP and guess what.. The mini freezed again!!!!
Nos I am in the same point, no way to go beyond the apple logo.
Do you guys know why is this happening? Is there any kind of malfunction related to screen share between Snow leopard and Mavericks that makes the host computer to die?
The any other reason I can imagine is that screen sharing takes a lot of processing effort and my old mini suffers some kind of overheating?
But then, why can´t I start it again after it becomes cooler? Why was my HD kinda damaged in the first problem?
May be all the problems are because my HD is unstable? I was watching some MKV movies with no problem..
Might the home dust have caused some hardware problem because of unproper cooling?
Thank you so much for your time.

I can only guess right now, but I'd say there's a fair chance that dust on the RAM may have corrupted the drive in unseen ways.
Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partition & use Disk Utility from there to Repair the Disk, then Repair Permissions.
Open console in Applications>Utilities, check the system log for the date/time of the last problem  & the Startup right after that for clues.
click on the top line we want, Shift plus click on the bottom line we want, CMD+c to copy, then paste the text in a reply with CMD+v
A couple dozen lines should be about right, hundreds or thousands won't likely be readable.

  • Keyboard lockout after screen sharing

I was doing some screen sharing from another Mac on my LAN. There's no "disconnect" feature to stop the remote control, so I simply quit the Screen Sharing "application," closed all windows, and logged out of the controlling Mac.
Problem is, at the target Mac, upon every other restart approximately, like this morning after software updating, the keyboard is locked out. Entire keyboard has no effect. Mouse control is okay. The other Mac wasn't touched for days, while this target Mac has been logging in and out just fine. The restart puts me in a state where I cannot type in my login password, and restarting (with mouse) brings me back to the same state, restart after restart. I don't think it has anything to do with the software update, but instead, some kind of residual control from the other Mac that was not fully severed upon quitting.
Even after going back to the other Mac to remotely log into Finder via screen sharing, the keyboard in the target Mac is still like disconnected. Mouse control still okay. Same problem.
    Any solution?

Entire keyboard is locked out EVERY TIME my Mac is restarted! Not just every other time. I mean NOTHING on the keyboard works when locked out -- like it's disconnected, but there's no physical disconnection.
The iffy workaround that gets me back to normal, and only sometimes, is restarting via screen sharing from the remote Mac, then "closing" +Screen Sharing+ (it quits immediately), then quickly logging out of the controlling remote Mac. And THEN I still have to restart the target Mac several times to get lucky! For example, just now restarting five times did not work, but going through the gyration again + restarting twice got me back.
    Remote Mac = 2005 Powerbook 15" G4 running 10.5.5
    Target Mac = 2003 Dual 2GHz PowerMac G5 running 10.5.5
This new phenomenon came about only after I used +Screen Sharing+ on the LAN.

  • Login freezes on iMac with Lion after screen sharing with another mac.

I have an iMac 27" Late 2009 2.8Ghz Intel Core i7 upgraded with Lion 10.7 (11A511).  I have screen sharing enabled on this computer, and I accessed the computer with a 15" MacBook Pro also running Lion of the same version. The screen sharing work.  However, when I exited screen sharing on my MacBook, and attempt to login again on the iMac, the login is stuck after entering the password.
Is anybody else have similar issues?

I am having this problem as well. On a late 2009 MPB. I can login to the guest account with no problem and I can also create a new user, but I cant access any of my filevaulted files. This happened after Silverlight caused Safari and everything else to freeze and I had to hard reboot, It's almost like lion is trying to reopen those apps when logging back in and it can't. I reinstalled Lion and repaired disks and disk permissions from the recovery hd. Anyone else??

  • Adobe connect service not installed after setup.

    Hi
I have been trying to install adobe connect 9.2.1 on Win 2k12 server.  I have tried the install process several times logged in on a domain admin account and logging in as a local admin.  I follow the install wizard and fill out the connection details for SQL server and SMTP settings (and both appear to work) However once the installer has finished the Connect service is not installed and I am unable to proceed in configuring the connect server for our unit's use.
Is there any other thoughts/ideas as to why this is happening and any workarounds?

  • Can't start video chat after screen sharing

I was engaged in a video chat with my dad - everything was working fine. I offered to let him share my screen, and that worked fine as well. He then tried to switch back to his own screen - I'm not sure what happened, but the end result is that neither one of us can initiate a video chat anymore. When we make ourselves available on our respective computers, we are able to text message, but the phone, video, and screen sharing icons remain grey. When I go to recent chats and click on the video chat with my dad, it says he is currently busy in another conference. When he goes into his recent chats and clicks on me, nothing happens. "Control" and "Escape" do nothing. We are both using 24" iMacs less than one year old, with Intel.

On the One successful Screen Share I have had a restart of iChat at both ends was needed.
I had no sense that Control ESC had worked. I know I lost the Audio at the same time but also Text chat went west as well. (typing but no replies)

  • Adobe Connect 8: Recording Pausing after 32 Minutes

    Hi,
We have a Recording which references a PPT file from user's Content area. There are 71 Slides in the PPT. They played fine in the live event. But in the Recording the playback pauses after minute 32. No amount of going forward or backward can make the Slides to play once the playbar touches or exceeds minute 32. In fact, if I manually advance to beyond minute 32 then the entire playback stops and I have to reload the Recording to make it work.
I have checked the PPT file and it looks fine. The Recording time itself is 1:28 (h:min). Strange thing is that beyond minute 32 the playbar continues to move along on autoplay and chat and audio show up fine but the slides don't change. Using Firefox's Firebug there is no more 'get' command after Slide 31.
    Any idea?
    Thanks,
    Irfan

We use the hosted version of Connect and when we upgraded to v9, we also had alot of issues - especially with audio not working. While we worked with the Adobe support engineers to fix this, we setup a computer and used Screenflow to record our weekly live classes. I hope you can get your issues fixed soon!

  • Menu bar translucency not working after screen sharing

I've taken a screen shot of my desktop
    http://picasaweb.google.com/victor.a.tran/Mac/photo#5202983242362095218
As you can see the top 1/3 of the menubar is white/light grayish.
This happened only after doing a screen share and I can't get it back to the original Leopard menubar, the only thing I can do to make it look "normal" is to turn off menubar translucency.
Anyone know how I can get the tranlucent menubar back?

All you have to do is create a sub directory on the remote server called junk or whatever, uploade the files there and supply a link. When things are sorted, you can delete the subdirectory.

  • Video constantly drops after screen sharing

Im on a brand new laptop running windows 8 just bought less than a month ago and the first thing I did when I got this thing was downloaded skype, its versaion 7.6. Before this, on my desktop and older laptops, Ive never had any problems. As of either this version of skype or this laptop (which I couldnt assume it would be the laptop when its brand new, but who knows) any time I am in a video call and screen share, the video will drop after roughly 10 - 30 seconds. Consistantly. First it shows whoever I am talking to's video drop, then mine. The call remains and we can reinitiate video, but it just keeps dropping every few seconds. It will go on until the call is closed and remade. It is quite annoying. I would like to get an older version of skype (7.4 maybe?) and try it out there to see if its the version or not, but I cant find any links to them. If anyone has any idea what is causing this, or has a link to an actual 7.4 download, Id appreciate it.

Please,  run the DirectX diagnostics tool. Go to Windows Start  and in the Run box type dxdiag.exe and press the OK button. This will start the DirectX diagnostics program. Run this diagnostics and save the results to a file. Please, attach this file to your post. Be aware that you will have to zip this file before attaching it here.

  • Windows 8 and Screen Sharing Lag

Is there a problem with Adobe Connect 9 and Windows 8 screen sharing?  I've notice there is a about a lag of 2secs or more when I share my screen in Windows 8.  i.e. If I open a Window or do anything, the participants don't see the change until 2 to 3 secs later.
I've ruled out IE and Chrome because they both have the same problem.  I also ruled out the machine because if I run a VM Ware virutual machine with Windows 7 on the Windows 8 machine, then share the screen in the VM Windows 7, there is no lag.

Alright, well then you are possibly looking at a network issue (congested network), possibly a computer performance issue, some conflict with Connect and another application on your comptuer causing the lag, or something else entirely. Are you able to share your screen without the lag on another computer on the same network? If so, that will elminate the network piece and narrow it down to your comptuer.
You might want to consider working with Adobe Support to see if they can help identify the problem as well. 800-945-9120.
You can also try the test your computer page to see if anything comes up there. You can subsitute the server URL for the system you are using, but for my account it is: Test Meeting Connection

  • Screen Sharing Won't Connect (kind of)

    Here's what happens.
    1. I connect to the other computer for screen sharing. I fill out the login/password, and press connect. The window for screen sharing stays blank. After about 8 seconds it'll say "reconnecting," then the cycle repeats itself.
    2. I close the window.
    3. I connect to the other computer for screen sharing. I fill out the login/password, and press connect. The window for screen sharing stays blank. After about 8 seconds it'll say "reconnecting," then the cycle repeats itself.
    4. I change the preferences to "show the screen at full quality" as opposed to "adapt quality to network conditions"
    5. I close the screen sharing window
    6. I connect, and it works
    Why is this happening?
    Here's another issue:
Sometimes on the third try an old account name that was deleted on the computer I'm attempting to share screens with autofills in the login information. And, the old account works. It lets me screen share. Why would it allow me to screen share with a DELETED account?

    You are welcome.
Note the date and time the problem occurred, then go to Applications/Utilities/Console and copy the log starting at the time you tried to connect. Paste the log in a reply. Please do not use a screen shot as they can be hard to read. If there are repeated runs of the same messages, please post only one run. Be selective about what you post and don’t  post huge amounts. • Screen Sharing trying to connect to Apple Kerberos server?

I'm using a MacBook Pro running 10.10.1. When I connect to other Macs via Screen Sharing, it now takes a very long time to connect (a lot longer than when I was on 10.9).
The culprit seems to be this:
    1/7/15 11:00:08.606 AM NetAuthSysAgent[10688]: NAHSelectionAcquireCredential The operation couldn’t be completed. (com.apple.NetworkAuthenticationHelper error -1765328228 - acquire_kerberos failed username@WELLKNOWN:COM.APPLE.LKDC: -1765328228 - unable to reach any KDC in realm WELLKNOWN:COM.APPLE.LKDC, tried 1 KDC)
So it's trying to look me up on Apple's Kerberos server, and timing out. Any way to stop Yosemite from doing this? Or is there another solution?

Make a rule in Little Snitch to forever deny outgoing connections for NetAuthSysAgent to port 88 (kerberos).
    No more delays.
