Adobe Content server license is not being accepted by Adobe servers.

We get err E_LIC_LICENSE_SIGN_ERROR on all our books. What can be wrong? We have checked our certificate, it was updated few weeks back and is valid.

Hi Steve, can you provide some additional information about your environment? What version of Exchange Server are you using? Also, is the client application something that you are developing, Outlook,
or something else?
If you could also collect an unencrypted trace file containing the request/response and send that to me at dochelp(at)microsoft(dot)com it would be very helpful. If you are working with an ActiveSync
client, a Fiddler trace would be preferred.

Future Adobe Content Server options

As everyone knows, ACS 3 as a standalone product is no longer available; the official text from website:
"Adobe Content Server 3 is no longer distributed by Adobe as a standalone product. Instead, a number of Adobe Partners, including service providers and content aggregators, offer Content Server protection as a convenient hosted service."
Delivering protected PDF files to our customers through a hosted service (ADEPT or through a partner) is not an option for many reasons. LiveCyle does not appear to be the right solution either.
Can anyone give insight into whether this gap in product offering will be addressed?

Are you sure you created the .p12 file with the correct '-name' friendly name? The value for -name must match the value com.adobe.adept.fulfillment.security.keystore.user

Please I need help ??. I am look for a trial version of Adobe Content Server or a full license version if its not possible to obtain the trail.
I have written to a couple of solution providers without response. Adobe has since taken their hands off this product and does not appear to provide any help information at this stage.

I am working on Adobe Content Server 3.0.1 and able to configure it to ecommerce site but i am unable to package the books when both library and store is configured on my Adobe content server 3.0.1 at a time.
please let me known the version of the content server i using is licensed to use only store or a library at a given time.

RDS server message: could not initialize class com.adobe.rds.core.services.Messages

I just moved to a new host with my own dedicated cloud server. Using CF9. Everything seems to be working fine with the server, but i get the following error when connecting to it via RDS through CF Builder 2.

I get it when i first connect to the server, then if i try to access it again, it will let me in. I also get an error when i try to open the first file. Then its ok.

After 2 months of it not working for love or money. I got a new machine and ColdFusion Builder 2 and started over. It worked for a while. Then when the trial version timed out a few days ago it killed it again. With the same error. So it is definitely something that gets “switched” within the code or configuration settings. Rebooting about 3x seemed to fix it this time after entering the license number.
Yes to answer your questions below. Yes, I did all those things below. Re-checked and checked numerous times. Keep in mind the installation there worked for over a year then all of a sudden stopped. I hadn’t changed anything at all. And it just stopped dead, started throwing up that error.
I asked all the experts in my office. One guy knows CF and Java inside and out and could not figure it out. I searched the web and the issue is listed many times but with no real answers.
Thanks for getting back to me. I am up and running with new machine. But since I’ve seen the error on this machine now, I live in fear it will reappear and stop working. So if you come up with any thoughts I would appreciate it.

Essbase Error 1013206 - SetActive Commands are Currently Not Being Accepted

I am facing the below error very frequently which is causing the disabling the "Enable connects"on the respective application. It is not happening for all the scheduled processes, just BETWEEN the last cube build or first cube build of the day.
In Essbase.log server logs observered as below:

Please suggest as It is happening repetedly andcausing the Down time.

Is it possible that you've issued the command: alter application disable connects ;
That would cause MaxL to send back that message.
Per the docs:
Prevent any user with a permission lower than Application Managers from making connections to the databases that require the databases to be started. This includes starting the databases or performing the ESSCMD SELECT command on the databases. Is it possible that you issue that command and then try to do things with a username that doesn't have App Manager or higher rights?

updating apps on 4s iPhone and iPad 3.
delete apps on both devices.
restart both devices.
then you should be able to use everything appropriately.
AT&T was having problems last week, I removed that app plus coupons, gas buddy and one other.
Actually I removed that would not update.
I still can not connect to safari.
The error message says it can not find the server.

I'm not sure what SDK you're exactly referring to. But you can use server-side actionscrip and an IDE like Adobe Flash Builder/Flash Professional for client side actionscript to develop your two-way application.

Removing book from Adobe Content Server

I would like to remove book from Adobe Content Server. I used answers from that thread http://forums.adobe.com/thread/621994 .I successfully removed book from distributor inventory but can not remove it from operator (built-in distributor) inventory. I got this error:

Finally, I found a way to remove book from adobe content server. This article Public Knowledge Base helped me a lot.
So, in order to remove book from acs you need to make 4 requests:
- request to admin/ManageDistributionRights with distributor ID
- request to admin/ManageDistributionRights built-in distributor ID
- request to admin/ManageResourceItem
- request to admin/ManageResourceKey
This is how my requests look like:

Value of "resourceItem" tag is important. Actually I didn't find description in documentation what this tag means. I found that this is optional resource item index and that default value is 1. But when I send delete request with 1 in <resourceItem> the last request, which remove resource key, return error. If you know what this tag mean please answer in this thread.

Preview or Sample Book using Adobe Content Server 4.0

We are using Adobe Content Server 4 to process PDF files into ebooks. Now we want to provide Preview or Sample books of these ebooks. By Preview I meant, lesser pages per chapter so that user can read some content of the book and if he/she likes the content then he/she can purchase the complete ebook. I am wondering if there is a way in Adobe Content Server 4.0 that can help us creating these Previews or Sample books. Our limitation is that we want that ACS 4.0 automatically create the preview from the complete book. It means that we do not want to provide PDF with limited number of pages. We want to provide complete PDF file and ACS 4 should automatically select some of the pages to create Preview or Sample ebook. Does Adobe COntent Server 4.0 has such functionality that can help us in creating Sample ebooks or Previews?

Subsetting or creating sample documents is not a feature of ACS4. I would suggest looking at using/creating your own sample creator.
