What is Adobe Crash Daemon?
When checking Activity Monitor while PS CS5 is open, I noticed an application called AdobeCrashDaemon that was running and using almost as much Virtual Memory (2.57GB) as Photoshop itself. Does anyone know what it is and does it really need to be running? Thanks.
I have the same question. Also, after installing extensions to Dreamweaver and In Design (Using the discs from CS5) I now have 3 daemons,The Adobe Crash Daemon, Microsoft AU Daemon and Mocrosoft Database Daemon that weren't there before. And an Apple spell.service and although I use my airport, my computer is trying to connect using the telephone modem plus Airpot. I was connected via what looks like Flash Web browsing to what looks like two pages of iPads and other devices with a list of names. It was not my intention to do any web browsing at all, but only to install Dreamweaver and update In Design. I shut down the telephone modem, disabled the safari "auto fill in" certificate that may have been allowing 'entry' and they appear to be gone...(except for Applespell.service) I hope to have no further interruption in simple use of In Design and Dreamweaver on my laptop desktop. The good news is that cvmsComp_x86_64(197) has also disappeared for the moment.

Adobe Crash Daemon preventing Creative Cloud Updater
Hey folks, i'm trying to run the updater in the Application Manager on my iMac (Mountain Lion) but I keep getting an error saying
"Please close the following applications to continue:
AdobeCrashDaemon"
If I hit continue it just keeps popping back up and can't see where that application is running (presumably in the background somewhere)
Any help is appreciated
Thanks
NeilPROBLEM SOLVED
Hi, so i tried everything in this post and other and couldn't solved it until now.
Since i updated to Mavericks, After Effects CS6 wasn't working.
Every time i opened the Activity Monitor i couldn't find the AdobeCrashDaemon.
The reason is because you need to have at least one Adobe CS6 opened. RIght when i opened PS, the process AdobeCrashDaemon appeared on the Activity Monitor. So this are the steps i made:
Open Applications > Utilities folder
- Open it and look under the Process Name column and see if you see anything saying AdobeCrashDaemon.
- Open PS or any other CS6 program. (AdobeCrashDaemon should appear on screen)
- Quit the process with double click on it.
- Click continue to the Updater.
Hope it helps. -
After trying the updater I get a please quit the Adobe Crash Daemon!
And of course i have no idea where it resides. I continue to get the message even after restarting. Help!
I kept experiencing the same issue when I ran the updater via the bridge and selected more than one program at a time. I resolved it by selecting each update individually. Weird. But everything updated.
Thankyou for your response. -
How do I close Adobe Crash Daemon?
When trying to install update to After Effects CC, I get the error message, "Close AdobeCrashDaemon application". I have no idea where to find a place or way to do this. Ran a search on my iMac with no luck. Help!
All the best,
Fred CockfieldHi Fred,
Did you check the Activity Monitor?
Should be in Applications > Utilities folder
- Open it and look under the Process Name column and see if you see anything saying AdobeCrashDaemon
- Try to Quit the process if you find it and then running the Updater again
You should be able to initiate the updater from within any of the CC products from Help > Updates
Thanks!

Increasing Crashes "Read Only Memory Exception" HELP please!
Over the past month and a half I'm starting to get regular and increasing crashes, mostly in my Adobe CS3 programs with this error:
Read-only memory exception. A memory reference was made to an address that cannot be written to.
unresolvablePageFaultException
I am starting to get towards my wit's end and want to rule out hard drive or logic board problems. Today after I got this crash in Dreamweaver and Fireworks (for the first time in FW), all my programs stopped opening and responding. I am noticing in Activity monitor 2 continuous stalls:
175 UserEventAgent (Not Responding) 0.0 3 4.10 MB 722.06 MB
168 colormunkid (Not Responding) 0.0 1 8.20 MB 766.86 MB
Even after reboots.

on OS X10.4.11.
If I choose passive FTP, Dreamweaver appears to upload a
file, when in fact the error logs reports that the file could not
be upload because it was not found, or because of permission
problems.
If I do not upload with passive FTP , Dreamweaver 8 crashes
& Dreamweaver 8 loses the site's root folder, informing me that
it cannot be found and I must use the manage sites feature to
recreate the cache for the site that was there.
If I use FETCH, no problem... all files are uploaded
successfully.
I recently had a hard drive failure on my Mac, had a new HD
installed by the folks at the Genius Bar, and thought perhaps my
new HD was buggy... however, now it seems there must a a
permissions problem built into the Dreamweaver FTP protocols.
I have not seen a patch for this, although when I reinstalled
the software, I did download all updates.
I know my reply offers no solutions, but I do thank you for
your post. -
Windows Update Causing CS6 Photoshop x64 to crash at "Measuring Memory"
Hello,
This started on the 28th when we received a batch of Windows updates on our machines. The next day the eight users who have this installed are no longer able to open the 64 bit version of Photoshop. Each time it will get to "Measuring Memory" and then crash with no events in the Event Viewer. I have tried to remove the Windows updates manually with no luck. The only way to get it back to working is to do a System Restore. When doing some troubleshooting I discovered that if I use log in on the workstation that is crashing with my account then Photoshop 64 bit will open for me and get past the measuring memory. So I tried to figure out what relationship photoshop has with the users account and all I found was the users "Settings/Preferences". I had the user log back in and went to the location of that file and removed the 64 bit version. I then opened Photoshop back up and it created a new file but still crashed on measuring memory.
If you have other suggestions or knowledge of what else is tied to the users account. I should also mention that the 32 bit version works fine on the machine for all the users.
Thank you for your help.Bump. Still looking for help.
I have tried to run all Windows updates and then uninstall and re install Adobe Photoshop both 32-bit and 64-bit. The system still crashes. In the event viewer I am getting this:
Faulting application name: Photoshop.exe, version: 13.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x4f61c045
Faulting module name: dvamarshal.dll, version: 6.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x4f61b977

Mainstage crashes with certain memory upgrade that work with other programs
I updated my memory from 2G to 4 but selected a cheaper brand that had good feedback. It works fine with all the programs but Mainstage seems to need a certain quality memory as the program crashed all the time after several minutes or so of playing, but oddly, the program completely disappeared from my screen when it crashed with the rest of the computer (a Macbook Pro 2.2) working fine. When I put the old memory back (2Gig) in it only crashed when the memory was full as it fills up continually, bit by bit, while you are playing. Anyway, I thought I would mention this in case someone has the same problem with a more 'value' memory. I am RMAing it and getting a better brand. This originally did this in Leopard but downgrading to Tiger I found the same problem. I am also using a Firewire rack, sound card. RME Fireface 800 that makes the instruments sound phenominal, I might say though may be consider overkill.
I've used a number of budget Ram sticks in my day, and have never heard of Ram that is working properly but can't handle a load that another stick of the same type and capacity could handle. I do know that you're supposed to put 'matched pairs' into those MBP's in order to get the highest performance. If anyone reading this has more insight on the particular question, (ie. can certain brands of Ram not perform the same as other brands, excluding sticks that are faulty or damaged), I'd love to hear.
I'm glad you're up and running, and I hope it wasn't the Ram since the Mainstage update seems to have alleviated the problem for you. Rember is the same test as Memtest, but with Memtest you boot up from the console, so it can check every sector of the Ram. Rember runs while you're running OSX so parts of the Ram can't be tested since it's being used by the OS. -
Adobe crashes on printing - unless I open the file and wait for 10 seconds
We are having printing issues with Adobe Acrobat X or Xi Standard and or Professional on client PCs running Windows 7 32 Bit OS.
If we open a PDF file and request a printed copy Adobe crashes. If we open the documnet and wait 10 seconds before printing the document it prints perfectly well and Adobe does not crash.
What is causing this problem? I haved tried to uninstall and reinstall Adobe Pro but this does not fix the problem.
I've tried changing the printer type to direct IP printing but this has not helped.Hello youlichika,

Adobe Crashes when working/editing PDF's
adobe crashes when working on certain PDF's that require editing. Have updated to latest 11.0.09. Hangs when trying to save file. Didnt do it with previous versions. Running W8.1 Pro.
File has been saved to Desktop, and C:, still does not work. Seems to not mater where we edit the forms from, it crashes occasionally when we edit, but always when we save or save as. Tired downloading from IE, Chrome and Firefox.
Running 11.0.09, Im running .08 on another computer which works fine perhaps I should roll back to a previous version?
Have also tried running AcroRd32.exe in difference compatibility modes (W7) to no avail.
Definitely using Adobe Reader. -
Hi,
I own a Lumia 900 and yesterday I noticed that I am using about 14GB of my 16GB memory, I synced my phone and migrated all my videos. Now it only uses 10GB of memory which still is too much.
I just want to know if there is a way to see exact details of whats taking memory, most of my applications I don't use as frequent as others and I just want to know the amount each app is using so that I know what to remove and what to keep instead of going on an uninstall spree and hope for the best.
So is there a way to do this, without jailbreaking/unlocking/rooting the device?Hi dahaka7,
It's good to remove all applications that you do not use, as they may use surprisingly a lot of space on your device, especially if they are caching content or creating detailed log files. In addition to pictures, videos, applications, music and games. your phone has the operating system on the phone memory, which will reserve some of the space.
I am afraid there is no tool that will enable you to see how much space a certain application reserves, but you can see how big the installation file is before you download it. Some games especially can be rather large, up to several hundred megabytes. So the xBox tile is a good place to start if you are looking to free up some space.
Hope this helps,
Puigchild

IPad Air crashes with low memory error in Google Translate Web Site
My new iPad Air crashes with low memory error every time I try to use my Phrasebook in Google Translate Web site. This is rather disapointing considering that my old Nexus 10, that iPad Air is supposed to replace, works flawlessly in Google Translate Web site. Perhaps this has to do with the rather limited RAM (1GB) that iPad Air is equippoed with.
I would appreciate any recommendation, Thanks in advance.See this topic in

Ever since the last update of IOS from Apple, all applications on iPad 1 are crashing for low memory. I have done everything that Apple has indicated (make sure nothing in running in background, turn off iCloud, reset and reloaded iPad like new) and nothing seems to help. Even went into the Apple store and the Genius said that there was nothing short of resetting the unit to "New". That did not help.
I know there are tons of complaints out there but has anyone found a way around this?So what do you want us to do about your complaint assuming it is true?
We are just users like you.
