Adobe creating an app-building software program?

Any guesses whether or not Adobe might ever create an app-building software program in the not too distand future?
I've been tempted by some other 3rd party plug-ins like Kwiksher and Corona, which allow one to build a multi-page app with animations and sounds for the iPad and other devices.  Kwiksher is based on Photoshop, so it would simply many steps of the learning curve.

It seems logical that Adobe would build such a program, but I'd be curious if anyone on this forum knows if such a thing is in the works?
Also, might anyone recommend any other new multi-media app development tools that are simple and based on photoshop?

I'd be looking to create children's book apps where each page might have simple sound effects, slight animations (like moving or twirling an image), and also include the option of having music and short mp3 voices... upon clicking.
Since I'm not a programmer, I wonder if there is any program that does that?  Or whether Adobe might be planning one that's as simple to use as  Kwiksher?
I can't do any coding... but I draw pictures and create digital images and am a published author.
So I wonder if there is anything in the wind about whether Adobe might be creating something for this market?
I know that Apple is anti-flash... so considering that a huge portion of the e-book and app market is through Apple's iTunes, that would be problematic.
I know that Indesign CS5 can publish text documents to an epub format.... and they can include limited multi-media features like movies, but I'd be looking for a program that might do a bit more than that.

    Hello.  I was wondering if Apple would make an app creating software.  I'm a graphic designer and would love to do an app that showcase my portfolio with images, video, and music.  I don't know anything about coding, I just want to create a nice looking portfolio app so I can present to my clients.  There is a software called AppDesigner that looks easy to use but hasn't been updated in a long time.  I would love to have something similar to AppDesigner and iWeb with cool features like fade-in/outs, animations and sounds.  Please, Apple?  That would make me really happy.  Thank you

    I should have also stated that if you want Apple to do something, you should send them feedback through the official channels https://www.apple.com/feedback;  these are user contributed forums with very little input from Apple.
    I'd like to know the secret to generating apps or applications without coding.  Someone has to write the code to do what you want; it doesn't happen magically.
    If no app exists that does what you want (you have checked the Mac App Store?), then someone will have to deem it important enough to put in the time and effort to create such an app or application.

  • Executable created with App Builder cannot be executed

    Dear forum,
    I am trying to build an executable from a rather big Labview Project with a lot of LVOOP classes. I am using labview 8.5 FDS.
    The program runs fine when executed from the development environment and compiles without error. When i try to run the executable, I get a dialog box with a long list of error messages like "VI has an error of type 4E348, 4A348, 302208, 2208, etc., LabView FDS is required to resolve the error" (actually I am using a German version of LabView, so let me quote the German error message: "VI hat einen Fehler vom Typ 4E348. Zur Behebung des Fehlers ist das Labview Full Development System erforderlich")

    I just finished rebuilding the project today (have been busy with some other job last week) and now the project builds and runs perfectly (at least on my development machine). Now I can go through the rest of my testing and debugging process.

    Probably I should give a short explanation on how my application is designed:
    I am developing a general-purpose control, data-acquisition and on-line data-processing application for a number of test-rigs in our company. I have chosen a modular design with plugin architecture where functionality for control, daq, etc. is provided as plugins. These plugins are implemented as user-defined classes which inherit from class templates. In this way it is very easy to add functionality e.g. for specialised control or data post-processing. The downside is that there is a lot of method overloading and this might have been the reason why the build process failed. Now I re-arranged all the classes in a "virgin" directory tree and the build process works.
    By the way, I changed the way my plugins are loaded from static to dynamic. This is significantly reducing the time to start-up my application.

    Hello everybody.
    I am very interested in create an ipad for my work and although I have a Mac, and I pad I have never made a software program. Is it possible to create an app without previous programming knowledge?
    How much does cost the App developers kit from Apple?
    Can Apple One on One service give you a lesson on how to use the kit?
    I think that I have a great idea for an App and I also want to learn how to use my Mac for other things beside iphoto and Pages.

  • DSP APP Builder インストールエラー

    InDesignCS5(Mac版)を使用しています。
    MacOSのバージョンは10.6.8となります。
    今回電子書籍のアプリ化を試しているのですが、インストールエラーが発生しました。
    CS5ではFolioの機能が標準ではないため、
    ・FolioPanel-CS5-31.0.0.dmg
    ・FolioProducerTools-CS5-31.0.0.dmg
    上記二つをインストールしました。
    実際にInDesignのFolioBuilderパネルからFolioを作成し、
    「Appを作成」をクリックしたのですが、
    「Adobe Air　このアプリケーションのアプリケーション記述子が見つかりませんでした。
    　再インストールするか、発行者に問い合わせて下さい」
    というエラーメッセージが出ました。
    WebサイトのDPSにログインし、「Mac用DPS App Builder」をクリックしたところ
    お使いのシステムにインストールされたDPS App Builderが見つかりませんでしたと表示され、
    同時にDPS App Builder-3-1.1.0.dmgをダウンロード出来ました。
    実際にDSP App Builderのインストールを試しましたが
    インストーラーファイルが破損しているとのエラーが表示されインストールが出来ません。
    また、Adobe AIRを一旦アンインストールした状態で
    DSP App Builderのインストールを試みましたが、
    既にインストールされていると表示されインストール出来ないとうエラーが出てしまいます。
    ※インストール先はApplicationsの直下です。DSP App Builderのフォルダはありません。不過視ファイルも確認済みです。
    また、インストール先を変更し実行した場合はインストールが実行されるのですがエラーが発生します。

    すでにご確認済みかと思うのですが、念のため、DPS App Builder で検索してみてください。
    通常であれば Application 内にはフォルダーは作成されず、そのままDPS App Builder のアプリケーションアイコンが入るはずなのですが、
    他の場所にもし残っていれば削除してみてください。
    それともう一つ、以下の文書のトラブルシューティングをお試しください。

    I actually created these fonts with fontagrapher in 1998 and have been using them regularly ever since and now they are not available in InDesign. I really need to use them.

    I found a page on Adobe, Troubleshoot fonts | Mac OS X
    On PostScript type 1 fonts you need to copy/move the fonts to the correct font folder because Font Book doesn't copy them into the folder. Select the fonts double-click the fonts and Find in the font Book app and validate.
    The correct font folder depends how you are set up. I am by myself so my font folder was MyHarddrive/Library/Fonts. I was using Suitcas fusion and the fonts are located in a different folder.

  • Adobe App Builder Splash Issue

    After I created the app through the app builder, for some reason the splash image ( when you first open the program) has an issue.
    It proceeds to show the splash image it should intend to, like holding the iPad horizontal will display the horizontal splash image. But, for some reason, after two seconds, it changes to the opposite layout splash image, which appears stretched and flipped.
    My folio is v32 & i'm using the App Builder v 3.2.1.
    The files I have used are the same files that I used on my previous app, which didn't have this issue; although the folio was v26.

  • Adobe air with flex, file new, open and save for Desktop software program

    I already have a headache from all the searching. I cannot believe this to be such a confusing topic as every software program we create must be able to save user input, right.
    Here is the problem:
    Novel writing software program Main window has tabnavigator with four navigatorcontent pages 1. characters, 2. worlds, 3. objects, 4. Editor
    Each navigatorcontent page has user input fields in the form of textinput component, textarea component, richtexteditor component, etc.
    problem 1:
    The user needs to be able to open a new project and give it a name and state where it must be saved. All user input in the Novel writing software program must be attached to the file name the user specified - cannot give sample code cause I don't even know where to start looking anymore.
    Problem 2:
    If the user has now defined a new project name, all his input from the different input components has to be compiled into a single file that can be saved. (Dan Pichelman gave me a satisfactory answer on using the file.borwseforsave funtion.) That makes sense, but I first need to get all the user input into that single file. I was convinced that it must be an xml file and that there would be a guide on how to do this but...
    Problem 3:
    This brings me to another problem. All the pages I've researched so  far tell me how to load data from an xml file into a component, but not how to write the text from the component into the xml file. And this xml file cannot be the prefs file in the storage directory, it has to be named by the user and then after filling in all his text in the different tabs of the software, must be saved in this xml file and saved where the user chooses.
    Problem 4:
    now that the user put in his text and it is written to an xml file that he has named and set the path to, he goes on vacation and in two weeks opens his saved file to work on his project again. All the data that was stored in the xml must now be written back into the different user input components so he can continue working on his project, truth be told, there are some samles and tutorials on this subject, but again from only a single page perspective not a multiple tab perspective.
    Problem 5:
    Now the user has deleted and/or changed some text he put in when he started, he wrote some more text in the textareas and texteditor and he clicks the file - save button. The xml file or whatever needs to be used must be updated and saved with all the changes overwriting the old file.
    Problem 6:
    The data entered by the user will end up being a book of say 400 pages. This data will obviously be mostly in the richtexteditor component, so whatever method of saving is used, database or xml or whatever, needs to be able to contain all this data.
    Thought, if you are working with for instance, microsoft powerpoint, it has multiple pages all containing different user inputs and when you click flie - save, it saves all that input into one file. When I as a user opens that saved file it loads all that content back into its place and I can change and manipulate the input and save it again. I would have thought this would be one of the first things adobe or any other software would teach as this is what sofware programs are all about. But alas, the tutorials on this subject for adobe air for Desktop application is extreeeeemely rare.
    My promise is, if someone can help me with this or there is a tutorial out there that covers this properly I  will write a tutorial on this for other newbies as I progress step by step.

  • How do I create a single file installer for LV 6.1 App Builder Output?

    I have created an application using the 6.1 App builder and it installs fine. To be able to send this app to others, I would really like to put it in something like a self extracting executable file.     You raise a number of important points. I'll answer to the best of my knowledge.
    1. Usually true. Win98/2K/XP have the Windows Installer Service built in, but 95/98/ME require InstMsiA.exe, and WinNT4 requires InstMsiW.exe. The difference is in the character set (ASCII vs. Unicode), and I don't know how that difference applies to the non-Roman alphabet installations. It's safest to include both if you're going to include one.
    On the same subject, I noticed that the first thing the LV7 evaluation installer does on a Win2K box (and therefore probably on a Win98 box as well) is update the Windows Installer service, so LV7-built executables may very well require InstMsiA.exe/InstMsiW.exe on Win98/2K.
    2. I think so. I usually don't distribu
    te LabVIEW EXEs as self-extracting installers, but it probably is safest to wait until the setup is complete before returning control to the self-extractor software.
    3. True. (And note that one of the circumstances under which you might repair/update msiexec is with LV7 on Win98/2K).
    4. True. Setup.exe appears to install/update msiexec if needed and then launch the MSI file.

    Have you checked that your Adobe version is compatible with your OS - 10.5.8 is a bit old; you should consider updating to Snow Leopard regardless. You can buy the retail disk at online resellers or the Apple Store for $29. It'll be at version 10.6.3 or .4; you can then update to the latest via Software Update to 10.6.8.
    In the meantime, you might want to consider to also contact Adobe; ask about the compatibility and if they want to see the report.

  • Text is pixelated in Adobe Viewer when creating an app in indesign

    I am trying to create an app in indesign, I put the docuement in the folio builder, and then view it on my iphone through Adobe Viewer.  The text that I've typed in directly in indesign appears pixelated, along with any thing I placed from photoshop.  In Indesign I've made the object High Quality Display, took out all layers except the text layer, even saved the photoshop text image as a pdf and placed it in indesign, still pixelated.
    Help please.

    Thanks Neil, I did all 3 as per your suggestion: version 25, PDF, and 960*640, and it worked.  But b/c of the PDF option, I believe that was the reason why each page opened up from blurry to clear, which is actually a cool looking effect, however, on some legnthy text frames, the blur took a bit too long to clear.
    So I created another folio, version 25, 960*640 and this time kept it Automatic, and it's just as clear as the PDF folio, but there's no initial blur.

  • Creating app for Android/Kindle with App builder and Single Edition (No professional or Enterprise)

    Hi there,
    I know there is no official support for Android in Single Edition, but, once you have installed Indesing CC and App Builder in a mac, and you create app from your Folio menu, is it possible to create then an Android/Kindle apk app for publishing by your own?
    Has anybody published sucessfully in this way?
    Other point, is that I suposse that you need a Professional or Enterprise licence to create an android app from the Web-enablet App Builder. Cause I can't find the way the make my single account to join the role to this function (And app builder website website just tells me I have to do this, as if I were able to do it with my license...).
    By the way, I think Adobe should explain more clearly this points. There is too much documentation, but difficult to find this answers... And a lot of people with the same troubles...

    So, can you confirm if you join the Professional edition (just for a month) if you are able to use both options App Builder/Web-Based App Builder, to create the app in a way that you don't need to be suscribed more time to Professional Edition to be downloaded by the users in Google Play/Kindle Store, and it should work for Applestore (iphone apps) too. I mean, once again, no using Multi-issue and Renditions, cause in this case I know they are hosted by Adobe and you need the subscription to be downloaded.
    I think there are discussions here about this topic, but it's not exactly clear what I'm asking. So, I still don't know if I should buy the Professional Edition or go to another supplier as you said.
    I hope that Adobe improve these functions! There should be native support for these platforms, cause at the end you only can publish to the applestore with the Single Edition and everbody knows the "too booky problem" with the apps. And we should have support to publish to ibookstore because of that too, without third party solutions.

    Do mobile users using Android/Apple apps created in flash builder 4.7 need to install Air in order to run the apps? Can the apps be ran without Air installation?

  • Adobe ID doesn't work as the "title ID" in the App Builder

    The Adobe ID I use to create folios (the admisnistrator ID) doesn't work as the "title ID" in the App Builder.
    I tried creating a new user, but that new user ID doesn't work either.
    Any suggestions?

    It just tells my the username password combination doesn't match, but it doesn't prompt me to change it. So tried changing the password througn the "forget password" link. It said they would send a temp passward, but nothing yet. its been about 20 minutes.
