Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop failed to install, where to get help?

Hi, I have contacted Adobe three times now to get my creative cloud app working again. Everything worked beautifully until last July while updating it crashed and I've never been able to successfully install the app again. The first call I had with tech support was a failure. After 1 hr on the phone and numerous different tries at correcting the problem, I was informed I'd probably have to do a complete uninstall of every Adobe product on the machine (at the time I was running IOS Mountain Lion, on a 2012 27" iMac 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7 w/16GB). I decided to wait to do the uninstall because this is my primary machine I was too busy to risk being down for any unknowns.
Now I have the time and ever since I installed Mavericks weird stuff is going on with PS and I was hoping there might be a fix in the updates. Called Tech support, made an appointment last week, scheduled a callback for 2hrs later, never got the call. Called again today, got my callback 1/12 hrs later. Support guy spent about 10 minutes with me doing everything I did through screen sharing, no luck. Tried uninstalling an Adobe program, no luck. Tried using the cleaner tool, no luck. The phone connection dropped and the cursor on my screen stopped moving. That was it?!?!? No call back, no attempt to continue, he had my number.   Called back, would have to schedule another callback 2 hrs later.
Where is Adobe customer support (figuratively)?? - I have been a customer of Adobe products for 15 years. I pay them every month. This not only upsets me, it worries me because Adobe products are my primary tools and my confidence in them and the folks they have on the phone is dwindling.
Can anyone direct me to a forum that deals with this issue? Is there anyone accountable, with a good phone connection I can call that is not on the other side of the planet?
Your suggestions are greatly appreciated! Thx.

  • Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop does not install

    Hi,
I am trying to install the trial of Adobe Creative Cloud on my Mac (10.9.5). When I run the Creative Cloud Installer, it shows 'Downloading Creative Cloud desktop' and then stops with the error message 'We’ve encountered the following issues: Installer was unable to create a critical file/directory. Please try installing again. (Error code: 44)'.
Here is what I tried so far:
    1) Trying again yields the same result.
    2) Trying the install from my admin account yields the same result.
    Other info:
    1) The machine has a licensed copy of Adobe Creative Suite 5.
    2) I previously installed a trial of CS6 but have since removed that to go to CC instead.
    3) Removal of the CS6 trial by the uninstaller failed - I had to remove components manually.
Does anyone have an idea what the issue could be? Very frustrating as I need to start using CC as soon as possible and purchase a subscription.
    Best regards
    Tim

    Hi Jeff,
I came to the same conclusion but finding the permissions problem was like hunting the needle in the proverbial haystack. I don't think using a temporary directory as you suggested is a solution as the user has no control on where the installer is actually installing the files.
In the end I did as follows:
Manually removed all Adobe products from my internal disk and cleaned caches, app support folders and preferences (BTW, that did not allow the installer to work either).
Cloned my internal SSD drive to an external hard disk.
    Formatted my internal SSD drive.
    Re-installed Mavericks 10.9.5.
    Installed CC Desktop successfully.
Pulled all my stuff back on to my internal SSD drive from the external hard drive using Migration Assistant.
It took a little time, but everything now works as it should.
    Problem resolved!
    Tim

  • Just bought Creative Cloud single-app membership for After Effects (one-year) but I am unnable to download creative cloud on my latpot - message says "creative cloud desktop failed to install error code 1"

    please help

  • Creative Cloud Desktop Failed to Install

This is the second time in 3 months this has happened, and I fully expect this to happen again once I fix it.  This message occurs when I try to start Application Manager after it tries to update itself.  Who wrote this app??  The app manager is nowhere near Adobe's usual level of quality.
Last time I had to spend an hour on the phone and finally got someone , renaming directories and running a cleaner utility.  If I knew it was going to fail again I would have written it down.  But I should not have to, and this is a waste of my time. The mere fact that there is a cleanup procedure means that Adobe knows it has a piece of junk in production.
Regardless of what it says about a "desktop", I'm trying to start what I know as the Application manager:
..And when trying to work around and update via another app like Photoshop CC, I'm pretty sure I shouldn't be getting this either:
..Following the above instruction appears to work, but only after using the task manager on it.  This cannot be as designed.
How about making this product more robust?   Why is the launch of the application manager contingent on an update I might not have time for right then?   I don't like updating anything that is not broken for the precise reason I am now wasting my time trying to resolve this.
And my pressing question: Is the fix procedure I spoke of above published anywhere so I don't have to wait on the phone for another hour?

    This solution worked for me.
    1. Open task manager and close all running Adobe processes. (Acrotray etc)
    2. Navigate to C/Program Files(X86)/Common Files/Adobe/OOBE and rename it.
    3. Navigate to C/Program Files(X86)/Adobe/Adobe Creative Cloud and rename it.
    4. Try installing CC desktop from here: https://creative.adobe.com/en/products/creative-cloud
    5. Navigate to C/users/user name/AppData/Local/Adobe/OOBE/opm.db and remove it. Launch CC desktop and try to sign in.
    Thanks

  • Adobe Creative Cloud package fails to Install - Mac OSX Mavericks

I've been trying to get the Adobe Creative Cloud package that I had built with the Creative Cloud Packager installed onto a staff member's Mac but it always ends with "The Installation Failed" (No error code or explanation). If I watch the Application folders while it's running, Dreamweaver CC 2014 and Flash Builder 4.6 pop up but then get removed and then the installation fails. I have already run the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool, renamed the OOBE folder, and tried the installation with a newly created admin account. The package installs just fine on other Macs, but this one did have older versions of Adobe Software from CS5 and CS4 installed. I uninstalled them but my guess is that there's left over files somewhere causing a conflict.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
    Thank You!

I managed to find a solution to the problem. I ended up uninstalling every Adobe related application and then went through the user/library and system/library and removed everything Adobe from the Application Support and Preferences folders. Unfortunately, I do not know what application or file was ultimately causing the issue.
    Thanks again!

  • Creative cloud desktop failed to install on Mac OS

    Hello,
I have an extra seat who needs to use Creative Cloud for his job. He cannot install the Creative Cloud application and when trying to do so afresh, he constantly gets the error "Unable to install Creative Cloud Please close all active Adobe applications and retry your installation" message via the dmg image installer file. There are no other or active Adobe application on his iMac and no Adobe application running anywhere on the machine.
    iMac OS X 10.8.5, 2.9GHz.
The problem reoccurs even after navigating to the Applications/Utilities folder and putting the folders Adobe Application Manager folder and Creative Cloud to the Trash and emptying it. Then navigating to the Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE folder and renaming it to OOBE.old, then again downloading Creative Cloud desktop from the URL https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud and trying again to install it.
Despite all of this, the same "Unable to install Creative Cloud Please close all active Adobe applications and retry your installation" message prompt comes up and the installation of the Creative Cloud application is abandoned.
This is a very frustrating experience. What is the workaround to get this appliaction installed so he can get on with his work as soon as possible?
    Paul

Opted to fully restore the iMac and upgrade it to OS X 10.9 from what was an 10.8.5 installation. Adobe CC desktop now fully working as expected and relevent application downloads successful.

  • Creative Cloud Desktop failing to install

I am trying to update CC Desktop but everytime is says it is failing to install.
This is a problem as I need to update some of the programs. Why is this happening please?

    Hi CERUCHALU,
Make sure you have right permissions on your User account to install the updates.
You might want to check with a new Admin Account.

  • Problem to install Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop

Please, i need to download Photoshop CC software but I cannot install in Windows 8.1 the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop application.
Is there any direct link to download Photoshop CC and Bridge?
    Thanks in advanced.
    Francisco J.

if you follow all 7 steps, you can download those trials via two of the links on this page using a browser that accepts cookies:  http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cc-direct-download-links.html
and activate with your adobe id.
if you have a download problem, you didn't follow all 7 steps.  typically, failure to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 is the problem, but your browser must also allow cookies so that's (a restrictive browser setting) another potential source of problems.

Adobe Creative Cloud (Desktop) does not work properly. The application is blocked : it could not be launch neither stopped. I'm on MAC Yosemite OS, does anyone know how to remove it properly or to force its stop. It does not appear in the launched applications.

I received no error message. The application was just trying to find applications unsuccessfully.
I am using MAC OS 10.10.1
I tried to uninstall the application  but it seems that a kind of deamon is still installed thus providing me to reinstall properly. Do you know where are the elements to remove in order to get my machine just like before ?
Otherwise I would have to reinstall everything and this would be a pain.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop is showing a blank screen at every launch (have tried multiple CleanerTool and OOBE-related methods)

**Background:** My computer, installed with Windows 7 is 2 weeks old. Yesterday I installed Creative Cloud Desktop, Premiere Pro and After Effects on my computer and everything went *absolutely* smoothly, not a bump. I did about ten hours work using these programs. Later that night, when I was about to go to sleep I went to my room and pressed the power button on my PC thinking I had left it on (just my memory, it had no lights on or anything) but it started turning itself on. Being tired, I immediately pressed the button again (I'm fairly sure the interval wasn't long enough for it to start updating).
This morning, I turn it on and Startup Repair appears, which recommends that I System Restore. So I do. It starts up fine this time, but said programs are gone and briefly I freak out about having lost all my work but the kind people in the reddit techsupport IRC chat here reminded stupid me of what I had forgotten, files stay in a System Restore.
**Problem:** So, I go to reinstall Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop. First of all, it fails to initialises (I had to go into Safe Mode to find out exactly what the problem was) but I used the Cleaner Tool and it completed the install eventually. But, when I start up the program, it briefly shows the loading symbol before going to a *completely* white screen, nothing on it at all. I have since used the Cleaner Tool again after the program being quite adamant about not being uninstalled, restarted and reinstalled and still, same problem. Then I searched through https://forums.adobe.com/message/5553596#5553596 and performed every solution in there, including changing the name of the opm file, changing the name of the OOBE folder and deleting the OOBE folder (all while the Creative Cloud app is not running including all processes killed). I uninstalled using the Cleaner Tool and reinstalled in-between all of these attempted solutions.
This has basically eaten up my workday so far.

I took another look at the creative cloud cleaner instructions and realized I wasnt running it correctly. I read the instructions too quickly. I got it up and running. I had forgotten to run as administrator.
