  • I have A question about Adobe creative Suite 3 Design Premium, and what it comes with..

My boyfriend works for a office furniture company building and tearing down office furniture. Today one of the people who worked at the company he was tearing down told him he could take any of the programs there as they had no use for them. So he took the Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium as well as mac OSX Leopard, thinking I would like to use them. But I have a PC.
My question is what comes with the Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium? Since I can not use it, I thought I could sell it, but do not want to do so if I do not have everything it comes with or needs. What I have is three disc's, in the case. There is the application, the content, and the video workshop. There is no booklet or anything with it. If anyone could answer my question, I would really appreciate it. I dont want to sell it to someone and get in any trouble for it not having what its supposed to.
Thank you for your time and help.

Firstly, the CS3 Design Prem comes with Photoshop Extended CS3, Illustrator CS3, InDesign CS3, Dreamweaver CS3, Acrobat Pro 8 as well as Bridge and and Vesion Cue.
Secondly, has the packaging been opened? If so, it could still be installed on a PC or rather Macintosh somewhere. If so, this makes it a trickier proposition with regards to installing it yourself or selling it on.
Don't quote me on this, but if the software is fresh and unopened or has been deactivated, you could upgrade to Design Prem CS4 Mac and then crossgrade to Design Prem Windows. Don't know if it's possible to crossgrade and upgrade in one fell swoop from Mac to Win. I suspect not - but will be happy to be proven wrong.
    Hope this helps.

  • Adobe Creative Suite Premium 1.0

We have seem to misplaced one of our CDs. Can anyone tell me how many CDs came with the original Adobe Creative Suite Premium? I have 2 install CDs, one extra/resource CD and one training CD. I want to make sure that I have not lost one of the install CDs.
I also would like to find a list of all of the fonts that come with Adobe Creative Suite Premium. We have installed so many fonts I cannot tell what originally came with the CD and what I need to get permission to use in my work. Thank You.

    Looking at my old copy...
    2 x Install CD's
    2 x Resources and extras CD's
    1 x Video training CD
1 x PageMaker Plug-In Pack CD for InDesign
    Making a total of 6 CD's.
If you have 2 Install CD's, you should be fine. Sounds, like you may have lost one of the resources and extras or the Pagemaker Plug-In Pack CD's though...

  • Adobe Creative Suite 5 Production Premium on Mac

I am about to purchase the current MacBook Pro: 13" 2.4 GHz
Everything in it will be standard.
In the Minimum requirements for Adobe Creative Suite 5 Production Premium it says I need a mac with 7200 RPM hard drive for editing compressed video formats; RAID 0 for uncompressed.
The Standard MacBook Pro 13" 2.4 GHz has a 250GB Serial ATA Drive @ 5400 rpm Drive.
There isn't an upgrade that I can see to get a 7200 RPM drive.
Will the program work on this MacBook? Will the software just run slow? What is RAID 0?
    Hope somebody can help.
    Thanks

I agree with sig. It doesn't make any sense to buy a bottom-of-the-line MBP to run one of the most demanding software packages in existence, particularly if your emphasis will be on video. You'll want a 15" i5 or i7 MBP with 8GB of RAM, one or more large 7200RPM FireWire 800 external hard drives, and a high-resolution external monitor for that.

I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 and I wish to upgrade with Adobe Creative Suite 3 but the option is not coming up on the drop down menu

The first two issues sound like a video driver problem.
What is the make/model of your video card/chip?
What is the installed video driver number and date?
For the last issue, it could be many things, including the video driver. I'd look over this ARTICLE, and if there is nothing in the first part, then move on to tuning up the OS an computer in the second part. That would probably be a good time to post the full specs. of your computer, and also both your Project and Source footage. Finally, part three covers many troubleshooting tips, and furnishes many links.
    Good luck,

  • Cannot install Adobe Creative Suite 3

Would need some more tips about how to get Adobe Creative Suite 3 design standard to at all install.
The machines I want to install onto are PPC G5s dual core with 4 GB of RAM and Mac OS X 10.4.10 (we do not want 10.4.11 as we need Safari 2.0.4 to remain for some in-house apps which do not work in later Safari). Machines already have CS2 without Version Cue and without Bridge on them and those are supposed to remain there. We have corporate multi-user licenses for both CS2 and CS3 packages.
When I insert the CS3 standard design package DVD in the machines where I want to install, it goes through the motions of the first stage of opening the installer but when it comes to finding and showing the alternatives possible to install, it comes no further. It hangs and remains hanging and not responding. No error message.
It does that on any of those PPC G5s I've tried on so it it is not just one machine. Have checked DVD for dust and scratches but nothing serious there. Same DVD works as supposed to in any Intel MacBook or Mac Book pro.
Am of course logged in as an admin user with full privileges. No other applications were active at the time. Harddisks are formatted as HFS+ journaled.
I have saved knowledge base document with ID kb400584 to go through all parts of it next week when in the office again. It is about Troubleshoot installation problems (Adobe Creative Suite 3.x on Mac OS X).
What I've done so far is:
    - try in a new user - doesn't work either, same problem.
    - activated and logged in as Root user on machine and tried to install from that - doesn't work either, same problem.
    - checked fonts - no problem fonts
    - checked and repaired permissions - doesn't help one bit
    - ran the standalone Mac OS X 10.4.10 combo updater - doesn't help (and no we do not want 10.4.11 on those machines)
    - ran installer with and without any Wacoms, scanners etc attached - no difference (the users that need CS3 installed, only need Illustrator and Photoshop, they are the users who do our original artwork, drawings and such for the newspaper where I work so they do have Wacoms and scanners)
    - tried on other machines with same installations and applications - same problem
    What I have not done:
    - started in safe mode (forgot about that until came home and read the above mentioned knowledge base document)
    - started without network connected
    - installed from the desktop
    - checked firewall settings (I understand those can have an impact).
Have also not done the following yet:
    - Use the Console utility to identify software conflicts.
    - Use the Process Viewer to identify and quit processes that may be using large amounts of system resources.
Note that this is NOT a Leopard problem, it is 10.4.10 we are talking about and PPC machines. Note to that re-doing the machines from scratch is not an option as they are carefully set up for the environment those users work in both when it comes to applications and permissions and fonts and we have a couple of hundred machines set up the very same way. There are no problems with CS2 and there never has been any beta or try-outs of CS3 Adobe apps on them either.
If those actions I didn't do yet will help I will report back about it next week some time.
Meanwhile I would be grateful for any tips I could try that could lead to a successful installation.

Well. Continuation of the struggle to install..
Today on a third machine, same configuration but slightly newer PPC G5 dual something (don't have the specs here at home).
    I did run the CS3Cleanscript.
1st twice in level one. No deal. Still uanble to install.
Then twice in level two. No deal. Still unable to install.
Then once in level three which killed the CS2 apps. Removed manually all CS2 apps and whatever belongs to them (I know where all that stuff is). Did a reinstall from scratch from original media of CS2 Premium (without Version Cue and GoLive) plus all updates. Refrained from putting in all our custom plug-ins and also to remove Stock Photos and fonts which we usually do. Restarted machine. Did a systemupdate of 10.4.10 with the combo-updater, still to 10.4.10, to be sure to have the right system parts in there. Restarted. Tried to install CS3 again. No deal. Ran the CS3Cleanscript level 2 again.
Ran out of time as had an appointment. That's where it presently stands: still unable to install.
Machines run no font management application (FontBook is present of course). Fonts are healthy and not damaged. Permissions are fine. Installing in new user with admin rights does not work. Installing as root does not work. Installing in safe mode and having turned off twain and wacom drives via the Activity Monitor has no effect.
Note: all CS2 apps run just fine and did too before reinstallation of them after killing them with cs3cleanscript.
Anything else to look for that you are aware of? I am starting to believe that it must have something to do with our special-tweaked systems and/or something else on these machines that gets in the way.
The CS3 standard multi-user package used is the Swedish version. I've installed that without any problem on an Intel MacPro used for video editing (yes we do that kind of thing as well in addition to the printed paper and the web). That machine did not have any of our standard system-setups though which is probably why it worked. Same application package also works without problem in MacBooks and MacBook Pros. It's just the PPC G5s for editing that has this problem. So apparently something is hiding there that causes the problem.
Thanks for all the suggestions so far.
I know what the next step is: To erase machine and install a clean Tiger-system from scratch. Then install first CS2 plus updates. Then try again with CS3. If that works it's the system itself that is the next thing to dissicate. Sigh.

  • Would my I-Mac be able to handle Adobe Creative Suite?

I was looking to get Adobe Creative Suite 3 (web design-standard) to start learning some website developement. I listed the system requirements below. My concern is the first two. Like I mentioned I have an I-Mac with the Intel based duo core processor. I am assuming that requirement is satisfied based on the statement "or mulicore Intel processor." My second concern is the operating system. I am currently still running Tiger as I have heard some not so good things about people upgrading to Leopard. Would this be an issue? Any advise and/or direction is much appreciated. Thanks.
    Macintosh
    PowerPC® G4 or G5 or multicore Intel® processor
    Mac OS X v10.4.8-10.5 (Leopard)
Java™ Runtime Environment 1.5 required for Adobe Version Cue® CS3 Server
    1GB of RAM
4.5GB of available hard-disk space (additional free space required during installation)
1,024x768 monitor resolution with 16-bit video card
    DVD-ROM drive
QuickTime 7.1.2 software required for multimedia features
Internet or phone connection required for product activation
Broadband Internet connection required for Adobe Stock Photos* and other services

    Very short answer: YES
    Longer answer:
    1. Make sure you have the maximum RAM supported. 3 or 4 GB depending upon the iMac model.
    2. Personal experience says Adobe Creative Suite runs fine on all recent (since mid 2006) iMacs.
    3. Upgrade to Leopard. Worth it.
    4. Our small business runs CS3 on a 2.16GHz iMac and a 2.8GHz iMac.

There's a list of the big new features in the
"New features in After Effects CS4" section of After Effects CS4 Help on the Web, and you can read about every little change to the UI in the
"User interface changes from After Effects CS3 to After Effects CS4" section.
But I thought that all of you who have posted requests to this wishlist might like to get specific responses to some of the items on this list.
First of all, though, I'd like to point out an innovative set of features that I think addresses a request that many of you have made... just not exactly as you asked for it. All of us have wanted a better way to see into and navigate among nested compositions (precompositions). The Composition Mini-Flowchart and Composition Navigator make moving around in a complex project much, much faster and easier. Telling you to see the
"Opening and navigating nested compositions" section isn't going to do this feature set justice. You'll only appreciate how slick this is when you get your hands on it.
Oh, and we reversed the behavior of double-clicking versus Option-double-clicking a precomposition layer: Now double-clicking opens the source composition in the Composition panel, not the precomposition layer in the Layer panel.
Now, on to the specific responses...
    David Wigforss:
    > I completely agree that the graph editor needs work....
    > Position values need to be seperated into 3 distinct values that can
    > be adjusted independant of each other.
    Done.
    See
"Separate dimensions of Position to animate components individually".
    Mark Weiss:
    > would like to see XDCam EX import capabilities.
    Done.
    See
    "Supported import formats".
    AndyClarke:
    > all effects in 32 bit or float
Not quite all. But more are, including all of the 3D Channel effects, which is a category that really needed the upgrade.
    See
    "Effects and animation presets".
    AndyClarke
    > prob a really simple little thing but a 'centre anchor point' button could be handy?
Move layers so that their anchor points are in the center of the composition or view?
If so, then done. See the first tip on the
    "Move layers in space" page.
    silversurfer:
    > An intra-project search function that displays properties of every layer.
    Done.
    See
"Search and filter in the Timeline, Project, and Effects & Presets panels".
(Plus, you can now use the shortcut FF to show instances of missing effects. See
    "About effects".)
    Thomas Craul:
    > the possibility to expand all of the effects parameters in the effect controls window at once.
    > just like when expanding all layer properties or all subfolders with strg+klick (little arrow).
    Done.
    See
"Shortcuts: showing properties in the Effect Controls panel".
    Pietje Bel:
    > I'd like to see some features I can use with my tablet (I got it for photoshop, though
    > I use AE even more than I use photoshop).
We've had features for using the pen dynamics with the paint tools for a while. See
    "Brushes and the Brushes panel".
That said, we've made some improvements under the hood that should make using a pen better (e.g., modifying the sensitivity during certain click and drag operations).
    Darren McNeill:
    > Simple, I would like After Effects to have the ability to extrude Text in 3d space.
    > Nothing complicated, just be able to create 3d Text.
How about the ability to do this in Photoshop and then import the 3D object layer into After Effects?
    See
"Using 3D object layers from Photoshop"
    invisiblerabbit:
    > Being able to specify how many processors to use in the multiprocessing preference pane.
Done. Plus other improvements in this area.
    See
    "Memory & Multiprocessing preferences".
    invisiblerabbit:
    > I'd love a setting either in the preferences or the output module to write project
    > information (importantly: the name of the project) into the metadata of the rendered file.
Done. And then some. On steroids.
    See
    "XMP metadata in After Effects".
    Navarro Parker:
    > I'd love AE projects to be searchable. Having the ability to search for comp names or source footage
    > names within projects from the Finder would be fantastic.
Done, as long as you have the means to search within XML files. The new XML project file format opens up a lot of scripting possibilities, too.
    See
    "About projects".
    David Bogie:
    > I humbly ask the Adobe After Effects team to concentrate first on fixing anything
    > and everything that is broken or buggy before adding any more complexity to this application.
    > Make it more elgant, make it easier to use, make it faster... sure, fine. But invest the
    > creative energy and geek resources to making it work flawlessly instead of adding more stuff.
Though we did add "more stuff", we also spent a lot of time polishing the application this time. The number of small tweaks to address pain points was very large.
    AndyClarke:
    > I just don't like the help browser.
    Better?
After Effects CS4 Help on the Web
    Laurie Hogan:
    > I got a simple one. Can AE have Spell Check.
    AE Enhancers provides
    a spelling checker script.
    Laurie Hogan:
    > Also Can there be more integration between AE and Apple FCP.
I give a link to a script from Dale Bradshaw on the
"Supported import formats" page (at the bottom of the page).

  • Adobe Creative Suite upgrade to OS 10.56 from 10.39

I have Adobe Creative Suite 1 Standard on my Powerbook G4 10.39. I have bought a Macbook Air and I use OS 10.56 on it. I found this page on Apple where I can buy an upgrade for Creative Suite 4. However, I don't know whether I can do that on my computers.
    http://store.apple.com/ca/product/TW594LL/A
The system requirements say the OS has to be 10.4 - 10.54. Does this mean I can't upgrade CS either on my Powerbook or on the Macbook Air?
I really want the CS4 on the Macbook Air. That is more important than doing the upgrade on the Powerbook as I do not use the Powerbook much anymore.
If it is possible to put the upgrade on Macbook Air, how do I do that? Do I put the Creative Suite 1 on the MBA first, and then download the upgrade?

    System Requirements:
PowerPC G5 or multicore Intel processor
    Mac OS X v10.4.11 through v10.5.4
Java Runtime Environment 1.5 required for Adobe Version Cue Server
1GB of RAM or more recommended
10.3GB free hard-disk space for installation; additional hard-disk space required during installation (cannot install on a volume that uses a case-sensitive file system or on flash-based storage devices)
1024x768 display resolution (1280x800 recommended) with 16-bit video card
Some GPU-accelerated features require graphics support for Shader Model 3.0 and OpenGL 2.0
    DVD-ROM drive
QuickTime 7.4.5 software required for multimedia features
Broadband Internet connection required for online services
Your MacBook Air meets or exceeds these requirements so you should be OK. You PB G4 doesn't, either by hardware or OS.

will adobe creative suite run on macbook air?

Do NOT get any MacBook 2012 models if you use Adobe CS4, 5, 5.5 or 6.  All models are crashing on any dialog box popup's, i.e. they are nearly unusable for work, unless you like saving every 30 seconds.  They do restart Indesign very fast after it crashes...  Apple has made no comment on what seems to be an obvious video card driver issue in OS X 10.7.4 on the new 2012 models. There are a number of other video related issues as well, but the show stopper for us is the Indesign incompatibility.  Google "fixed" the Chrome problems by removing the 3D accelerator calls thereby slowing down Chrome on these models.

  • Running Adobe Creative Suite CS3 on G4 iBook

    Hi all
I have a G4 iBook 933 MHz, 640 Mb RAM, 32Mb graphics card running OS X 10.4.11. Adobe Creative Suite CS and Macromedia Studio MX 2004 are both installed on the system and run fine.
I'm considering upgrading the software to Creative Suite Design Premium CS3. The idea is to wring another 6 months solid use out of the iBook then purchase a Mac Pro to be my workhorse. The iBook will be used just when I'm on the road.
The system requirements for CS3 design premium seem to be borderline OK for the iBook, only Photoshop and Illustrator seem to require more graphics memory than I have - but I won't be pushing either to the limit.
Just wondering if anyone is successfully running CS3 on the same hardware? Or if someone's tried and found it won't work!
    Thanks in advance folks.

    Hi mpjx,
I found the minimum requirements for CS Design Premium...
    Macintosh
PowerPC® G4 or G5 or multicore Intel processor
    Mac OS X v10.4.11–10.5 (Leopard)
