Adobe Creative Suite 5 cursor issues

In Illustrator CS5 while drawing a straight line while holding down the shift key, my screen will jump about 7 to 8 inches to the left or right, usually at the end of my line when I release the mouse button. This occurs in InDesign as well for me. While moving multiple objects around an artboard this odd behavior also occurs. Happens perhaps half of the time. Seems to be an issue with the constrain function of the shift key.
Working on a Mac Pro with Snow Leopard and Logitech wireless mouse, standard Mac keyboard. Mac OS X, Adobe applications, and Logitech mouse drivers are all up to date.

    I own a licensed copy of Creative Suite 6 for Macintosh. I've installed it on my Mac Pro and my MacBook Pro. I am planning on replacing the optical drive, which I never use, with a solid state drive. I intend to clone the operative system and applications like CS6 onto the new solid state drive. My hope is that I will make my aging MacBook Pro significantly faster.

    Forget the cloning, reinstall the programs properly. Otherwise the activation will not work because quite simply the activation key is not there. of course you should always deactivate existing installs before meddling with any of this...

  • Issue with reinstalling Adobe Creative Suite

    I have installed Adobe Creative Suite 4 on my laptop and a desktop computer. I uninstalled from desktop in order to reinstall on a new desktop computer ( as the previous desktop is now not usable).
    However I now get a message that records show that the software is installed in 2 machines. How can I get assistance to remove records of software completely from my old desktop inorder to use the sofware in my new computer.
    I have been given a deadline to correct the issue. please help

  • Issue with upgrading to Adobe Creative Suite 6 Design & Web Premium.

    I am running into a serial number error.  I am trying to upgrade from Adobe Design Premium 5.5 to Adobe Creative Suite 6 Design & Web Premium.  When I am prompted to input the serial number for Adobe Design Premium and I copy it directly from my account it says "This serial is not for a qualifying product. Please try another."  What am I doing wrong?

    Is CS5.5 also an upgrade version or was it purchased as a full version?  (This is somewhat of a gray area for me as far as not knowing if you need to enter the qualifying full version or not.)

    I am trying to install Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Production Premium, but I keep getting a 'Runtime Error!':  This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.  Please contact the application's support team for more information.

    We cannot know. Your information is hugely insufficient. Check Your Windows Event Viewer and tell us the "fault module" plus provide detailed specs for your computer. Runtime errors usualyl mean that A DLL is missing, a security tool is blocking critical functions or that the processor is not compatible in teh first place. Just as well this could be a driver issue with your SATA bus or whatever.

  • Adobe Creative Suite 4 Design Premium trial version says my serial number is invalid?

    I purchased Adobe Creative Suite 4 Design Premium from my my community college's bookstore in 2010. I successfully have used it all this time, but I recently bought a new laptop. This new laptop does not have a disk drive, but I was able to download the trial version of it online. It downloaded great, and I have been using the trial version, but the trial is up in one week. I deactivated my serial number on my old laptop, and then tried to enter it onto my new laptop, but the error message keeps saying "Incorrect Serial Number": "The serial number you entered is not valid." However, the serial number is definitely valid, and I spoke with Adobe and they just checked and were able to see that I do have an activation available for this serial number. Why won't it accept it?
    Side Notes:
    The licensing is Student Licensing
    I downloaded the correct creative suite (Creative Suite 4 Design Premium)
    I typed in the serial number correctly and checked multiple times
    I cannot afford to purchase an updated version nor Adobe Creative Cloud at this time
    Someone please help!! I am very frustrated and the person on Adobe Chat said they do not offer any technical assistance for older products.... Any help is MUCH appreciated!!

    Same thing happened to me, except I lost disk 2 and was told to go to the forums.. Seems Adobe isn't too great on their customer service or fixing issues.  The problem I was told, was that we have "Student" serials and the one from the download isnt a student version.

    After doing what she asked, I deactivated, and uninstalled my Adobe Creative Suite 2. Everything. So after all this, I reinstalled, entered in the new serial I got through their webpage for the special version after creating an Adobe ID. Guess what? After an unpleasant re-installation process (there is three downloaded parts you have to download for CS2 in which disc2 and disc3 are set on a default path that is separate from disc1 which you need to converge being it creates two folders with similar naming structures), and I ended up opening Adobe Photoshop only to find it say the very same thing I meant to avoid: your serial, name, organization, yadha, yadha, is incorrect/missing. Adobe will now close.
    So frustrated with this company, and its support.

    Well, now I cannot reproduce the error because I cannot install it again! Woohoo! For some reason, all three discs executables try installing the folders, files, etc... into a different folder making it when I try installing CS2 impossible since it asks for Disc 2, Disc 3, etc..
    ANYWAY, my main issue was began with when I somehow managed to install it correctly, I got the very same message I contacted you guys over: Adobe Photoshop will now close because missing serial number something like that, and following it saying it will close.

  • Missing Serial Numbers for Adobe Creative Suite 5 Web Premium

    I purchased Adobe Creative Suite 5 Web Premium with the education discount in 2010.  My computer crashed and I am trying to install the software on my new computer.  I do not have the serial numbers anywhere.  For some reason, the Adobe Acrobat 9 serial number was saved in my Adobe Account.  However, the remainder of the applications, which were installed on the same day, were not saved in my account?  So now, I have no way of installing anything except Adobe Acrobat 9.  Is there a way to have a new serial number issued to you?  Or a way for Adobe to  use my Acrobat 9 serial number to track down the others?  I have all the installation files.  Is it hidden in one of those files possibly?

    My system is still Windows Vista. Now I wanna buy the Microsoft Home Office 2013 and now I have to upgrade from

    My question is if there will be any problem with the Adobe Creative Suite 5? Or can I only put in the upgrade CD,
    leave the Creative Suite on my pc and have nothing else to do than just installing?

    Correct. You only need to run the CS5 installer and have to provide the pertinent serial numbers in the process. Just make sure you run Help --> Deactivate bevor nuking your Vista install and reformatting your drive. If there are issues during the install, ask in the Download, Install & Setup forum.

  • Re-installing Adobe Creative Suite

    Hello Everyone,
    A few years ago I was an illustration student and so I bought the student teacher edition of Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Design Premium from amazon.  I successfully activated and installed my software.
    My issue is that a week ago my computer died and so I need to re-install the Creative Suite.  Key points are:
    I have not been a student for a year now.
    I do not have my original serial number on file or in my saved e-mail.
    I do have my product code.
    I do have my old computer's hard drive as an external with the originally installed software.
    I never registered my product.
    Both my old and new laptops are Lenovo convertible notebooks (Windows).
    It may not be relevant but though I am from and studied in the UK, I am currently living in Japan, and will be for at least the next four months.  It't really important for my career that I get this software back asap so any help would be extremely appreciated.

    you'll need your serial number to activate a new installation.
    whether you can you can get that from your harddrive depends but is doubtful unless you're computer savvy. belarc advisor is able to retrieve the serial number from a working installation (Belarc Advisor - Free Personal PC Audit, for software, hardware and security configuration information on your computer.…) but using it in your situation will not be easy (if possible) unless you recreate your old (working) computer.
