Once on the site of 01Net the message remains but after being rocked on the site of Adobe for purchase, it is not any more question of Private individuals nor of Family but only of Students. And moreover it is question only of old version CS4 and not of the recent CS5

I had the hope that Adobe follow the same principle as Microsoft for its leading product “Office 2007” Families and Students (Version prohibited for the commercial work) and they was astute because on the one hand Adobe recovered customers of informed amateurs which could not follow its prices for a personal use and on the other hand, that made it possible to the private individuals to reach best of the software.

If you mean download (move from somewhere else to your machine) I do not know that there is a limit, though I have heard that it can happen when you repeatedly do it, as in the same day or so.  Normally there is no limit to the number of machine you can install on, so it is likely there is no limit to the number of downloads... but there is a limit of 2 for the number of installations that you can have activated at a given time.
